Chapter 32
After all the hysteria that had just occurred moments ago in the Soul Room, Jade was safely back in her suite with Mamoru and her friends. They didn't say anything for the longest time; they just let Jade sit there and continue to take everything in. A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Amber went to see who it was. She opened the door and standing there in the doorway was Paco.
"Hey Paco," Amber whispered. "What are you doing here?"
"I heard what happened," Paco replied. "How is Yade doing?"
"She hasn't said a word this we left the Soul Room," Amber stated.
"Can I come in?" Paco asked. "I promise I won't say anything to her unless anyone says it's okay."
"Well, okay, since you're her friend too," Amber said.
She let Paco in and they went to join the others.
"Hey Jade, look who's here," Amber stated.
"Hola Yade," Paco greeted.
Jade looked up at and acknowledged Paco for a second.
"Hi Paco," she said weakly.
"Jade, look," Mark began. "I know what just happened was a lot, and none of us suspected it, but listen to me when I tell you this; we're not giving up until we find that soul."
"Yeah, we're getting to the bottom of this no matter what," Dante stated.
"You guys, not that I don't appreciate the enthusiasm, but it's not just the soul being taken," Jade stated.
"Do you want to tell us what it is then?" Violet asked.
"Tarakudo said that he wanted to take Mamoru back," Jade stated.
"Take him back, as in back to his kingdom?" Amber questioned.
"He can't do that, can he?" Paco asked.
"He's King of the Shadowkhan," Jade confirmed. "He probably could if he wanted to."
"I'm not going to let him," Mamoru stated. "He can't control me anymore. Jade, you taught me what it's like to have free will, to make choices for myself. I'm not letting him control me anymore."
"I just hope that you're right," Jade stated.
"Uhm guys, I know that this is probably the worse time to ask, but what happens when a soul gets stolen?" Paco questioned.
The group looked at Jade, who's only response was nod. Then they looked back at Paco.

The next day
The next while Jade and her friends were at work the Devil had an audience with Tarakudo.
"I will not allow you to take Mamoru away from her Tarakudo," the Dark King stated.
"The princess's bodyguard is still a Shadowkhan my king," Tarakudo pointed out.
"I am well aware that you are King of the Shadowkhan," the Devil said. "This is different though; Mamoru has free will, something I will not allow you to take from him."
"Since I cannot argue with you with success my king, perhaps a deal will change your mind?" Tarakudo questioned.
"That depends on what the deal is," the Devil declared.
"I will allow the Shadowkhan to come and goes as he pleases," Tarakudo said. "If and only if the princess will become my bride."
"That is not for me to decide," the Devil stated. "Jade is young and there will be more years before she rules, and I think it is best for her rule solo for a few years."
"I suppose the princess will need to think about this since this involves her," Tarakudo said. "Very well, then, I shall return in two weeks' time to hear the answer from the princess herself. Until then my King."
Tarakudo bowed to the Devil before exiting the throne room.
The Dark King just sat there with his head in his hands.
"How am I going to break this news to Jade?" He said to himself.

Later that night The J team (minus Paco) was walking through the halls of the palace when they saw Dante and Violet walking in the opposite direction, talking to each other about something. Dante and Violet looked like they really didn't want to talk because they looked almost displeased when they saw the J Team. None the less though, they did stop and greet the group.
"Hi everyone," Dante greeted. "How's it going?"
"What are you two doing out and about?" Viper questioned. "There's no big party going on in someone's suite tonight?
"No, no party, we're just hanging out," Violet stated.
"How is Jade doing?" Jackie asked.
Dante and Violet were silent for a minute before Violet spoke up.
"She's doing better, still not really herself though."
"Why are you guys out and about though if you're all hanging out?" Tohru questioned.
"We ran out of drinks," Dante stated.
"Well since you guys are out, would you mind if we asked you a question?" Jackie asked.
"What is it?" Dante asked.
"It's about Zyon's soul," Viper stated. "We know that the idea of a missing soul is bad, and Jade is super upset because it was Zyon's soul; but what is the severity of a missing soul?"
"Well, it might take a while to explain," Violet said.
"We do not care," Uncle stated. "Just tell us what the big deal about the soul is."
"Okay then," Dante said. "As you guys already know, once someone dies we take their souls to that room, and place all of them into those chambers. Now the type of person they were while alive decides how long the soul sits there, kind of like a purifying process."
"Now when a soul is completely purified it's released," Violet continued. "Then other purified souls are released with it and they combine and then separate to create a new souls which will go to a new beings. So it's basically like the best qualities from many different people put into one new soul for a new person. So if even one soul goes missing that's one less new life that will be created. You're denying one person the right to exist."
"That's horrible," Viper said in shock.
"Yeah, that's part of the reason why Jade is so upset," Dante declared. "She knew that Zyon's soul would have to take a long time to purify because of the things he's done, but it gave her comfort knowing that the best of him would someday create a new life."
"Is there a possibility that the soul will be found?" El Toro asked.
"We don't know," Dante replied.
"We hope so though," Violet added.
