Hi, readers LadySongbird16 and I hope you are all having a great summer so far. Unfortunately we are going to be putting this story on Hiatus. We have no intention of abandoning this story and we will come back to finish it, it's just that all of the plans we've made for this story over the years have been used and we are having trouble coming up with new ideas. If anyone has any suggestions we would be more than happy to hear them. For now they we are going to take a break and focus on some of or other stories, we might even publish something new. Chapter 37
Jade, Mamoru, and Dante returned to the palace and went immediately to the throne room where they found the Devil talking with a few of his advisors.
"Jade, Dante," the Dark King said acknowledging the two reapers. "I assume you have a good reason for just bursting in; and who is this man?"
"Your majesty this man is a servant in the household of Lord Graysen," Dante confirmed. "We discovered something in his household that jumps as way forward in the investigation."
"And what would that be?" One of the advisors questioned.
"There we several members of the Opposition in Lord Graysen's basement crowded around a table and chanting, like they were performing some kind of ritual," Jade stated.
"Is that all you found?" Another advisor asked.
"No," Jade continued. "There were bones on the table."
"And you believe they were the bones of Prince Zyon?" Another advisor questioned.
"Who else would they belong to?" Dante questioned. "Maybe the servant here can tell you what's going on."
Dante put the servant down and he just stared at the Devil, the Advisors, and of course, his captors.
"Now what is your name?" The Devil questioned.
"It's Keji your majesty," the servant said. "And I would like to say that I have no part in whatever Lord Graysen and the Opposition are doing."
"How do we know you're telling the truth?" Jade asked angrily.
"Jade control your temper," the Devil warned.
"I swear on my own life your majesty," Keji said. "I had no part in it. I didn't even know that the bones taken belonged to Prince Zyon. Lord Graysen ordered me not to ask any questions or mention it to anyone."
The Devil approached Keji and looked him straight in the eye. Keji stood still the whole time, but there was definitely fear present in his eyes. The Devil then took a step back.
"He tells the truth," the Devil stated.
"Well, what are we going to do now?" Jade questioned.
We can't send you or any other reapers there just now," the Devil stated.
"Why is that?" Jade asked.
"Once someone realizes the servant is missing and the door is wide-open they'll be expected using back," Dante added.
"Exactly," the Devil stated. "You and your friends will return to the Kingdom of Treachery and return to Lord Graysen's house. I feel it's best that we have the element of surprise on our side,"
"How will we have the element of surprise on our side if they're going to know we'll be back?" Mamoru asked.
"I don't know," Dante
"Anyway, thank you both of you, you're dismissed," the Devil stated.
"What are you going to do with him though," Jade said looking at Keji.
"We will hold onto him until tomorrow," the Devil said.
Then he looked at two of his guards.
"Take him to the dungeons," the Devil declared. "We'll keep him there for the night.
So the guards took Keji away and Jade, Mamoru, and Dante left the throne room.
"So what do we do now?" Dante questioned.
"Well, I'm guessing we should go tell the others what we have to do tomorrow," Jade stated.
"Really, I thought you'd be up for letting them go in totally blind," Dante said sarcastically.
"Not in this case," Jade stated.
"Right, sorry," Dante stated. "So, I'll go talk to Mark and you go and tell the girls?"
"Yeah, tell him to meet in my suite in twenty minutes," Jade stated.
"Right," Dante said before going off toward Mark's suite.
Twenty minutes later, Jade's Suite
Mark, Amber, Violet, Dante, Mamoru, and Jade were sitting on the couch. Everyone was waiting patiently for Jade to say something, but so far she hadn't said anything.
"Alright you guys," Mark said. "What exactly did you all find?"
Jade finally spoke.
"We went to investigate the house of Lord Graysen in the Kingdom of Treachery," she stated.
"One of your father's former advisors?" Amber questioned.
"Yes," Jade replied. "A servant answered the door and Dante restrained him while Mamoru and I shadow walked down to the basement."
"And I assume you found something shocking down there?" Violet asked.
"Yes," Jade said. "Members of the Opposition were chanting something while standing around a table…and there were bones on the table."
"Bones?" Amber asked in shock.
"Yeah," Jade replied.
"So you think they robbed Zyon's grave," Mark stated. "And that they're resurrecting him for their own purposes."
"Who else's bones would they be interested in?" Violet added. "It all make sense."
"So does your father have a plan?" Amber asked.
"Yes he does," Mamoru said.
"We all need to go the Kingdom of Treachery now," Jade stated. "We might be able to stop the ritual."
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Amber questioned.

Later
Jade and her friends were running through the Kingdom of Treachery toward Lord Graysen's housing, hoping they weren't too late.
"Why is just us whose going?" Amber questioned.
"So no one else in the Kingdom of Treachery gets too suspicious about what's going on," Jade declared.
"Plus, we've taken on giant Kappas before," Dante confirmed. "I think the six of us can take on members of the Opposition, and whatever they have in store for us."
"I just hope you're right," Violet stated.
Right as the reapers were approaching Lord Graysen's home they could have sworn they saw him along with several other members of the Opposition walking right toward them. So the two groups met in the middle and then stopped. Lord Graysen, a balding man, with a long gray goatee and dark gray eyes stepped forward from the group of Opposition members.
"Well, well, well, Princess Jade," he began. "We meet again."
"Lord Graysen," Jade acknowledged. "Still up to no go I see."
"I suppose my servant that went missing spilled about everything he saw," Graysen said.
"How stupid do you think we are?" Amber asked.
"Yeah, Keji confessed that he knew nothing about what you were doing and that he's completely uninvolved," Mark declared. "He'll be freed as long as he promises to never report what he saw or what happened to him."
"I see," Lord Graysen said. "Well, he was a stupid man anyway. I don't need him around anymore."
"Enough already Graysen," Jade said. "What are you and your men up to? Were those or were those not Zyon's bones that you took?"
"Why ask me when you can ask some else with more knowledge on that subject," Graysen said.
Other members of the Opposition stepped aside and who should step out, it was Zyon! He looked exactly the way he did months ago, with the expectation of a few scars on his face, Jade did get him with the quick sword after all.
"Zyon," Jade said in disbelief.
"Hello Jade," Zyon said.
"Well Prince Zyon," One of the Opposition members began. "The princess has delivered herself to you it seems."
"Now do what we resurrected you to do and finish her," another member said.
Zyon looked at Jade and then back at the Opposition.
"Zyon," Amber began. "You don't need to do this please."
"Amber," Dante whispered. "What makes you think he'll listen to us?"
"She makes a point though," Violet said. "Zyon, don't do this, please.
Zyon looked at Jade for what seemed like a forever.
"No matter what," Jade suddenly said. "You're still my brother."
The two of them just looked at each other for a few seconds.
"What are you waiting for boy?" Lord Graysen said. "Kill her!"
"No, I'm not going to do that," Zyon said nonchalantly turning to face the Opposition.
"What?" Lord Graysen questioned. "You hate her though."
"One, she's my sister, I could never hate her," Zyon said. "Two, I was a dick about the whole the Devil didn't pick be just because of my father thing. I realized too late that she was right when she said she never really wanted the throne. And three, I know she never wanted to kill me; I saw the pain in her eyes before she had to do so."
"So we brought this stupid boy back for nothing?" Another Opposition member questioned.
"Well if you won't kill her then we'll just have to kill all of you," Lord Graysen declared.
"Yeah, I don't think so," Zyon said pulling out his bow and arrow.
Lord Graysen and several members of the Opposition charged at toward Zyon, but he just charged at them and started kicking all their asses. Jade's friends just watched the whole thing in shock while Jade had a smile on her face.
"Uhm, shouldn't we do something?" Amber asked.
"No, I think he's got it," Dante said.
After about ten minutes every member of the Opposition was on the ground dead.
Zyon looked around at his handy work and then walked over to Jade and her friends.
"Jade" he said.
"Zyon," she replied.
Then they were hugging each other. Jade's friends were kinda shocked as was Mamoru, kind of.
"I'm sorry, I was such a dick," Zyon said.
"I'm sorry I killed you," Jade said.
"So you want to go do something?" Zyon asked.
"Sure," Jade said. Then she looked at her friends.
"I'll see you guys later," she said.
Mamoru, of course as her bodyguard, followed them.
"Did that just happen?" Violet questioned.
"Yes it did," Mark replied.
"We should probably go report to the Devil about this," Mark stated.

Two Hours Later
Dante, Amber, Violet, and Mark went immediately to the throne room to request an audience with the Dark King and tell him what happened.
"I see, so he killed Lord Graysen and several Opposition members," the Dark King said.
"Yes your majesty," Mark stated. "Then he and Jade just took off."
"Yes, well as long as Mamoru is with her I see no need to worry too much," the Dark King replied.
Suddenly there was laughter echoing through the halls and the young reapers left to go see what the source it was. Finally they found Jade and Zyon slowly making their way toward the throne room their arms were around each other's shoulders and they were laughing.
"Oh my God she's laughing," Amber said fearfully.
"Oh hi guys," Jade said noticing all her friends. "How's it going?"
"How'd you two get passed the guards," Mark questioned.
"And why are you laughing?" Amber added.
"We blew things up," Zyon said.
"It was awesome," Jade added.
"Was anybody hurt?" Violet asked.
"No, no civilian causalties," Jade replied.
"Now how did you get past the guards?" Mark asked.
"I told them we needed to speak to my father about what happened," Jade stated.
"So is that where you're heading?" Dante asked.
"Yes," Jade replied.
"Wish us luck," Zyon added.
So Jade and Zyon walked to the entrance to the throne room and the guards just nodded at them, giving permission to go in.
Mark, Dante, Violet, and Amber just waited outside.
"I wonder what will happen." Amber said.
