WARNING:

This chapter contains mature violence, blood, and slight gore. I am now choosing from this point forward as flashbacks and videos footage may intensify. Keep in mind this is a Winter Soldier fanfiction so to stay true to light I must keep in aspects of the soldiers and their pasts. I also want to give a warning that there will be intensive PTSD in the following chapter. If you do not wish to read this…then DO NOT READ! "You have to see this." Agent Hill said quickly coming into a board room meeting. She was speaking urgently and directly to Steve. He stopped mid-sentence while prepping a squad for a minor mission to investigate a Hydra facility and doubled back to look at her. He took a moment to finish and spread the files on the table. He nodded to the next man in charge.

"Make sure you know these specs inside and out." The soldier nodded back in approval. Steve turned to face Hill and followed her from the room. She walked quickly, her heels clicking against the tower's floors, as she incessantly moved her fingers about the touch screen slate she carried at her hip.

"We've uncovered mission detail from Hydra." Steve started to feel unimpressed. This wasn't anything they hadn't viewed before.

"Agent Hill…" she paused suddenly making him stop almost running into her. She eyed him.

"Captain Rogers, this is footage of Mr. Barnes and…" she paused for lack of formal term for the girl.

"Anya." Steve finished for her narrowing his eyes. "Where at? How?"

"It looks like a mission to secure an information point, a target, and to take out a target. It took them both to complete it…" she broke off before starting to walk again. She'd left the sentence off intentionally to hide something. He wanted to know what.

"What?" he asked. She started to open another conference door allowing him to enter. Clint and Sharon were sitting at the table waiting with a video hollo screen at the head of the room.

"I think we need to be more prepared for what to expect from Anya." She said firmly. "This video will demonstrate what I mean." He walked in past her and sat near Sharon. Agent Hill stepped inside and did not sit. She dimmed the lights from her hand held screen before starting the video.

As the video began on the screen a voice spoke while the footage played. It was a man's voice, who must have been tracking the footage while it was being taken live.

"Asset Mission: Location Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Acquire target, kill confirm second target, wipe the scene." There was a jumbling of papers before the voice spoke again.

"First full launch of Asset Protection Initiative. Soldat is online." The narrative went silent as the screen moved from the expanse of a table to the screen recording the footage.

There was an image of a desert wasteland, wind kicking sand up and around as two small dots walked along the edge of a clay building. The camera zoomed in making Clint believe it had to be drone footage. The two black dots began to take shape along the village street below. In between the clay building of the slum district, were Bucky and Anya walking. They were both packed down with swat styled gear, Bucky in his familiar goggles and padded jacket, Anya however was something a little more scary. Her pants were swat styled black padded and tucked down into large combat boots laced straight and tight. Her torso was covered with a long sleeve biograde mesh fiber with a bulletproof vest over top. Unlike Bucky she did not wear a mask but she did have on the same rimmed goggles shielding their eyes from the hot blaring sun.

The camera was now panned in following the two and the street ahead. Bucky was carrying a small gun across his back and a larger gun, which seemed slightly overkill, in his right arm as they walked. Anya was strapped down with two guns across her back that matched the length of her arm, and two smaller ones straddled over her hips. Bucky was walking a straight tight line just slightly behind Anya as if allowing her to lead. Further ahead on the street two armored cars were slowly approaching. The two moved into the center of the street and out of the shadows of the building as they came closer. Sand billowed behind the car tires signaling that the cars were not slowing down. Anya came to a stop staring the cars down before glancing back over her shoulder at Bucky. There was a nod to her before he stepped forward as the car blew a horn.

Bucky crouched down as Anya moved a foot just a little to brace. The car was within the space to hit them when Bucky sprinted full speed at the car. Just when it was about to hit him, he threw out his metal arm and caught the hood flipping himself up onto the car's roof. He threw the gun off his shoulder and plowed a straight line of bullets through the roof. The car careened from the straight path and slammed into a building to the left. The car behind it didn't have time to stop, slamming the brakes, it started to skid towards Anya. Hitting it's side, it came at her like lightening, until it hit her. The front of the car buckled around her small form pushing her back in the sand, heels planted, she held the car crushing around her firmly and when she stopped skidding backwards, she pushed it off herself. There was a small moment when she shook her left arm out flexing it to look at minimal skin abrasive damage but the blood wasn't much.

"Asset Protection can withstand massive pressure with the addition of metallic alloys in the bones. Remember to test explosives next…" the voice trailed off watching.

Bucky was busy with the other car, pulling someone out of the passenger seat. He shoved the guy against the side of the wrecked car before putting a bullet to his head. There were no more movements from his vehicle. He turned to face Anya's direction but stayed still.

"Asset was given orders to allow Protection to lead with the target capture."

Anya made her way towards the car on it's side and bent to open the crumpled door. She gripped the handle cracking the metal and wrenched it open. A man kicked her back, square in the chest, and scrambled from the wreckage. Another man jolted after but that was his mistake. Recovering she grabbed the man by the collar as he crawled out, trying to make a break, and she jammed her hand up into his chin. His head whipped backwards as she nimbly circled behind him, grabbed his neck by wrapping her arm around it, and quickly gripped his chin. With one arm, and one hand, she twisted snapping his neck. The man's body dropped beside her in the sand as she pulled a gun from her waist sighting it on the man who was running. There was a moment's hesitation as she leveled it at the back of his head before she targeted down and fired. The man jerked, grabbing his thigh, and fell to the ground.

Bucky started walking towards her now. He paused to check in the vehicle that she had desecrated with her body to make sure everyone else was confirmed dead. By the time he'd matched her stride she was hauling the man she'd shot up from the ground. There was commotion, the man pulled a knife, before he swiped it at her face. A clean cut was embedded deep into her cheek causing her head to swipe sideways. Her grip on his shirt loosened and he stiffly jabbed her forearm causing her to break the hold. Bucky raised a gun beading it on him if necessary. The goal was to acquire the this target and not kill him, but if Anya couldn't get him to cooperate, that wouldn't be a problem. She turned back to the man as he hit and crouched back up to run. Anya tensed before she literally slammed her foot into the guys face full force slamming his body into the ground. He slid backwards a few feet before she stalked over him. She flipped her gun backwards in her hand and smashed the butt of it into his face causing blood to fly from his mouth. She didn't stop.

Anya forcefully picked him up off the ground before plowing her fist into his face multiple times, each time letting him hit the ground again.

When he finally passed out she let him hit and stay down. Bucky had already hung his gun over his shoulder waiting for her.

"Target captured." The voice spoke as Anya grabbed him by the foot and started to drag him. Bucky walked beside her as she drug the body towards one of the clay buildings. Bucky kicked in the door and allowed Anya to haul the man in.

The video cut to blank. The room was silent. Clint blinked twice before being the first to speak.

"Did she take on a fucking car?" he asked incredulously. Steve was still speechless as Agent Hill nodded turning to face them. Although she had to disagree that the car was by far not the most disturbing part of that clip.

"This mission was designed, from our knowledge on the files obtained that go with it, to test and strain the Asset Protection's abilities. They wanted to be sure that they could send her out to clear spaces for The Winter Soldier so that he could accomplish his own designed missions or take shots." She explained.

"How strong is she?" Sharon asked in a low voice. "The alloy in her bones…"

"We aren't really sure. What you saw there is all we know." Steve rubbed the back of his neck sighing. He'd noticed the anger that had formed when the man on the video had slashed her cheek. She'd turned explicitly deadly. She'd turned that rage on him and literally continued beating him until he was knocked out. Then without any regard for the target they'd taken captive she literally drug him through the sand. He was sure that it hadn't stopped there. They'd probably taken what they wanted and then killed him.

"Should we be more concerned that she's as unstable as she is right now?" he asked Agent Hill.

"We're upping security and her surveillance immediately. Everyone who works with her will be flanked by at least two men that are armed at all times from here on out, until she is stabilized and able to consciously control her actions."

Just as Agent Hill finished her sentence…

The tower's emergency sirens were triggered.
