chapter 34 The Return

Luna only remembered Alexis picked her up and while smiling at her he pointed his pistol to her head. It had all happened so fast it felt like she was still dreaming as she looked away from the bus stop where she rested.
"In case you forget again, at least this time, don't forget about Peter."
"What about you?"
"I can handle myself."
"Could the reason you act alone be you forgot how to lean on a friend?"
"We are not friends love, don't forget who I am and what I have tried to do and done."
"I was not speaking of me," - the way he looked at her told her he was more than aware of whom she meant.
"Look for that damn brat when you get home and tell her it's time to pay up," - he leaned a bit not leaving her eyes and pulled the trigger.
Luna had felt her heart had stop for a millisecond, and woke up gasping for air. She was still in the woods where the false Peter had gone after her. Getting up feeling paranoid and weak she ran towards her house not stopping even for a breath. She grabbed a bag and started to fill it with everything she could need for what she thought could be a one way trip. The last thing she did was write a letter and hide it inside the copy of Peter Pan as she looked at it one last time before hiding it in her bag.
She had walked out of the house after locking everything, not looking back or giving any thought of what she was getting herself into. After walking for a while she stopped in the same bus stop she had met Peter in and took a deep breath as she started to whistle Silver Bells. Not long after, a small silver light appeared next to her making her smile as she held the pixie in her hand. The pixie smiled and flew up happily. – "Thanks for saving me back there." - Silver Bell stared at her confused and tried to tell her something but Luna could not understand.
"Sorry Sil, I can't understand you."
She walked away from the bus stop recalling the boys as they reunited with her after years. Luna could only think of Alexis's plan of getting her to Peter but she first needed to go to Neverland and it was something she did not know how to do alone. She knew flying was one of the ways but she was too much of a coward to fly without Peter and she knew Silver Bell could only help so much. She walked not knowing were to go or who to go to. Her brother was her enemy, her parents didn't even know what she was doing and would never know and the only help she could have had was in question over her sanity.
Silver Bell started to glow as they passed some gardens and pulled on Luna's coat asking her to follow her and she did. Silver Bell flew around corners and stopped in front of a shop she had seen many times before but never entered.
"Silver why are we here?" - Luna asked but walked closer to the windows. She stopped as she felt someone behind her and rapidly held up Peter's dagger her eyes wide with fear and determination. She saw Shadow was there a lonely silhouette of a boy lost but not forgotten. Her heart hurt as she lowered the dagger and looked away.
"Silver Bell, why do I keep seeing Peter everywhere? Why do I feel like all this time I never really saw him or looked at him? I know I was wrong but how am I going to make it right if I can't reach him? I need to tell him the truth, I need to find him!"
"Then find him and don't chase his shadow anymore."
Luna could not feel her body because her shock as she turned towards the voice. She just kept looking at the person right in front of her eyes. Slowly as she recovered her movement she let her hand caress the face of the boy that was looking at her.

"I must really miss you. I've started dreaming of you."

"You're not dreaming," - the boy held Luna's hands and gave her a sweet smile – "It's me, Luna."
"No, you can't be him you… You… I saw what he did to you!"
What are you so afraid of? You were always ready for an adventure, that's what I like about you."
"GO AWAY!"
"I'm not a shadow nor am I one of the enemy, Luna. I'm me." - He held out a hand. – "Come here, foxy lady."
"Dominick…" - Luna started to cry as if she had never in her life ever cried and held Nick, embracing him in a hug. – "Nick!"
"Don't be so hard on yourself." - He looked down at her as she tried to hide her face on his red sweater. - "It's ok to cry when you want to, Luna."
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH PETER AND I SUFFERED WHEN WE SAW… I HATE YOU, YOU JERK!" - Luna cried as she yelled at him over and over, hurt.
"I'm sorry Luna, I'm sorry."
"Peter… He… He… I couldn't help him."
"I know," - Nick's voice was steady. – "We'll get him out Luna, I promise."
"I thought I was never going to see you again and I was always so mean to you Nick, I'm sorry." - She held on to him as if she let go he would disappear.
"Luna, it's ok. I never took any of the words you said in a bad way."
"You...You jerk!"
"That's my foxy lady," - Nick said as he stroke her hair gently.
"Are they all alive? All of them are ok, right?"
"Come with me, Luna," - was Nick's answer as he took her hand and started to walk slowly. – "I need to talk to you I need to tell you…"
"I know about what happened...well somewhat ...I still can't recall all the details about it. But Nick how did you...
"Well duh, he didn't do it alone, he is not that smart."
"MAX!?" - Luna could only look at the girl as she stood in the now open door of the shop.
"Took you long enough to get her here, Silver Bell."
"Don't talk to her like that, Max" - Nick said in an annoyed tone. – "It's not like you do something for a living."
"Dominick, you know her?" - She looked at them both.
"Of course honey, we go way back right, Nicki?"
"Don't call me that ... you damn, shut u… OUCH, STOP IT MAX," - he yelled as she had taken him by the hair.
"Don't get Lost Boy with me, you idiot, you forget who you deal with."
"A pirate?" - Luna whispered as she remembered and glared her way. – "let him go."
"Calm down all of you this is not a time for lines of black and white."
They all looked at Mr. Smee who came out looking upset at all of them.
"Max, let Nick go you're actin like a little girl and Nick don't forget she has a temper."
"Yeah she and every damn girl I meet ..ouch!"
"Max, Mr Smee what do you want?" - Luna ask as she walked next to Nick.
"It's not what we want Miss Luna, but what you want to do," - Mr Smee said gently.
"I want… I need to go to Neverland and… I need your help."
"Good, you know what you want that's a good start, but before that you may want to see the others," - he pointed at the other boys with no hoody, no mask, just sweaters with their favorite colors. They all smiled at Luna. They all looked alright but Luna could not see them well as her tears blurried her eyesight. She felt Seth run to her and gave her a hug as they both fell to the ground.
"Oh Seth! You're ok! You're all ok!" - She held him closer and the other boys just ran towards them. For a moment it seemed like a family reunion after many years had passed, tears would not stop from Luna who just could not believe they were there with her. She felt like a hole in her heart had slowly started to fill and in that moment she realized she had never really forgot about them she just had never took the time to open up like Peter had always tried to help her do. She felt that that moment was a sign to what she needed to do and now she had the strength she needed to do it.
Max and Smee let them had their moment knowing what awaited them would surely made them wish they had more time together. It was Smee who broke them off after looking at his clock.
"I would love to see you all have more than at this moment but I believe we have much to discuss and a friend to get to." - He nodded to Max who walked towards Marcus who Luna noticed had his spiky hair pulled back giving him an older look.
"Marcus you are in charge of this expedition so I will give you the map, know we can only do so much for you in these trouble times." - Max said sounding more matured but it was Smee who stopped her from continuing her speech.
"Max stop being foolish, we both know you will joining them."
"Smee, I decided to stay with you, besides there's no room for a pirate like me in this rescue," - she sounded bitter making Nick rolled his eyes.
"Such a drama queen, Max," - he whispered to himself but Luna heard it, she then remember Alexis's words.
"Look for that damn brat when you get home and tell her it's time to pay up."
"Max, I'm not sure why but I think that Alexander send word for you, he said to pay up and I'm almost certain it was for you." - Luna felt the boys stiffen around her and Marcus exchanged looks with them both but Max only gave Luna a hard look.
"When did you meet that bastard?" - For a moment Luna saw her pirate side and she wonder if Alexander had some history with her.
"He helped me escape from my own head when some kind of shadow looking like Peter attacked me."
"An anti shadow?" - Andrew whispered surprised –"he is using anti shadows!?"
"Well that explains all that mess and why he wanted us out of the picture," - Zeke stated.
"We can't be certain about such things, but one thing I'm sure about, we need to go back as fast as we can," - Marcus told the boys. – "Luna, anything else?"
"Besides wanting to know why Alexis wants Max?"
"We have some mix in the past, that's all you need to know."
"Max, they need a guide to the ship and I think it's time you face the past," - Smee told her gently walking towards the boys. – "You know the plan and I only ask that you look after Max for a while."
"I don't need their help old man!"
"Max, I taught you better manners than that. Now, Luna I only have one thing to tell you," - he looked at Luna in the eye with an expression of a man who had lived more years than anyone knew. - Evil is cunning but if you believe in yourself that can be your greatest weapon, Peter lost his way because he stop believing in what he always had lived for but maybe you can restore that side of him and save Neverland as well."
"That's something I can't do alone, sir," - Luna whispered the words realizing what he meant she would have to do once she got to Peter. – "I'm just Luna, nothing special about me."
"If there was nothing special about you you would have never met him in the first place," - Smee told her giving her a small smile.
"Luna, you are not alone, you have the Lost Boys now," - Seth told her taking her hand.
"How are we going to get there anyway?"
"It's a surprise," - Zeke whispered to her.
"Let's go back to Neverland and get Peter back," - Nick said smiling but Luna looked at him as if she had for the first time. – "What is it Luna?"
"I just remember something."
"What?" - Nick asked, worried.
"Nick, about your animal hoodies…"

AN so sorry for the wait I tried to work faster but I had overtime and with no laptop things get a little slower and difficult. I do thank u all for ur patience and 4 sticking to the story, the likes and comments it means a lot to me *hugs* if its a little long my apologies Im trying to take the last chapters and not extended more than it needs 2. hope Nick fans r happy with the chapter :) again thank u all hope u enjoy it
