Chapter Fifty-Seven:
Patrick opened his eyes and squinted as the light was bright and his head was on fire. He tasted blood and he went to wipe his eyes when he couldn't.
He was tied to a bed and he was wearing a hospital gown.
His memories were fuzzy, but he remembered being brought into a room and when he tried to fight, he was beaten. His body was screaming in pain.
He didn't know if they got to Robin.
"Help!" he screamed, but his voice was weak. "Help!"
"Dr. Drake? Nice to see you awake," Dr. Obrecht walked in and smiled at him.
"You are a fucking psycho. Where is Robin? Did you hurt her?"
"Oh no, this time it's all about you," she walked to him and began to put electrodes on his head.
"What the fuck are you doing? Get off of me!"
"I think it's time for you to experience some of the same things your wife had to live through. Well, ex wife, I suppose. You really were quick on that divorce button, weren't you?"
Patrick pulled with all his might at the ties on his wrists, but they cut into him and were just getting tighter.
"You know, things would have been fine had you not gone to the board. Now, I have no reason to wait any longer. I can't go back there, so I have all the time in the world to practice some of the new techniques I've been researching."
Patrick looked around for anything to use or any way to get free. His vision was blurry because of the beating he took, but he tried to focus. He had to get out of here. He had to get back to Robin.

"You're sure you're okay?" Anna asked Robin as she sat on a bench at the PCPD.
"For the last time, I'm fine. They took Patrick and we're wasting time sitting here! Obrecht has him and she isn't going to let him go. They hit him twice with the butt of the gun and he was unconscious. We need to go after him!"
"Mac is trying to trace the car and see if he can get a lead. Do you remember anything about where they held you?"
"No. I wasn't even in Port Charles until the Clinic with Victor. It's been destroyed, so I don't know. My memory isn't really clear about all of it."
Anna nodded and went to make more calls.
Robin looked up as Jason and Sam came in. She had called him to help her any way he could. She didn't know he would bring Sam, but Robin would take any help.
"They got Patrick and I need your help. I have to find him and I can't wait for the police to do anything. Obrecht is lethal and she will kill him."
Jason nodded.
"You're sure she's the one who took him?"
"Yes. Patrick went to the board to have her fired and she threatened us in the hall at GH. It was soon after that they got to us."
"Is Emma okay?" he asked.
"Yes. Liz picked her up from school and is going to take her home with her. She doesn't know anything is wrong."
"Jason, we don't really have anything to help with. Is there someone else we can ask?" Sam said.
Robin looked at her and her eyes filled with tears.
"You were in a relationship with him. You were important to him. How can you not be worried? How can you not want to help?"
Sam sighed.
"I want to help, but we are just finding our way back to each other. I don't want to get involved in anything that might tear us apart again. Besides, this isn't about us."
"What the hell is wrong with you? They are going to kill him! He needs us!" Robin cried.
Jason looked between them and sighed.
"What can I do?"
"I don't know, but I have to find him. I can't let him go through what I went through. I can't lose him."
Sam crossed her arms and Robin shook her head.
"Get out of here. I don't need your help."
She went to leave when Jason stopped her.
"No, we'll do whatever we can. You're not alone," he said.
"I need your gun," she said.
"What?"
"Your gun. I need a weapon. Do you have a knife? Anything?"
"Robin, you aren't taking a gun and going after anyone," he said.
"Whatever. I don't know why I even called you. You should both go."
Sam nodded and she touched Jason's arm.
"Come on," she said. "Danny needs to be picked up."
Jason looked at Robin and she held his gaze.
"What can I do?" he asked again.
"Take Sam and go home."
He sighed and left.
Robin watched them leave and she went to Anna's desk. She looked at the last notes that were made from the search and she took them. She grabbed a letter opened and a pair of scissors and ran out.
She would find him by herself.

He opened his eyes and there was a bright light above his head. He tried to remember if she shocked him, but he didn't think so. She had given him a sedative of some sort and he had fallen asleep.
Think, Drake. He said to himself as the darkness threatened to take over. He had to be smart about this. He had to get free.
"Patrick, it's good to see you awake," Obrecht said as she walked in. "We have plans for you."
Patrick took a deep breath and his chest burned.
"Let me go," he said evenly.
"No, I don't think so. There is someone here I want you to meet."
Patrick looked over and two men came in, carrying some sort of machine.
"These boys will get you started. You should have a lot in common with them. They were very fond of Robin."
Patrick felt his blood boil as the two men came near.
"Don't put your hands on me," he said and glared through his swollen eyes.
"You are nothing," one of them said. "You think you're all that, big doctor with a ton of money. You think you have all the power," he sneered.
"Well, who has the power now?" the other man said and smacked Patrick across the face.
He spit the blood out of his mouth and tried to swallow the pain. He said nothing.
"So you're the man Robin kept begging for. She used to talk to herself every night about you. She would tell us you were coming for her and it would only be a matter of time. She cried for you night after fucking night and you never came. You are a piece of shit."
The other guy looked at his friend.
"Greg here had a hard on for the beautiful doctor. You pissed him off hurting her like that."
"I hurt her? Right," Patrick said. "You are both fucking psychos."
They went to hit him again when Obrecht came in.
"We have trouble," she said and they ran out with her.
Patrick felt tears come to his eyes from pain, but also from the harsh realization that Robin had never chosen anyone but him and he had let her down in every way possible. If it was with his last ounce of strength, he would make it up to her.

Robin made her way on foot to the building near where she thought they took Patrick. As she drove, more and more memories came flooding back to her and she somehow remembered where Obrecht held her. She couldn't believe it had been so close all along, but until a couple hours ago, she had no recollection it existed.
She put her backpack on and made her way to the side of the building, keeping herself hidden. She left her car and phone to cause a distraction and she saw a bunch of men run to it when she ran the other way.
Her fear was gone and the only thought she has was getting to Patrick. She knew what these men were capable of. She knew what Obrecht was capable of. She wouldn't let Patrick down.
She climbed through an open window and laughed to herself.
You can't sleep in a bed but you are sneaking into a building full of the people who tormented you?
She heard someone coming so she hid and waited for them to pass. She raced down the hall and tried every door until one opened. She saw Patrick to the bed and a sob escaped her throat as she rushed to him.
"Patrick? Patrick? Wake up, please," she cried as she held his face in her hands. She saw the mess they made of him and the ties that cut into his skin. She grabbed her bag and fumbled for the scissors before she cut the binds on his wrists and then moved to his ankles.
"Get off me!" he woke up and flung his arms, knocking her to the floor.
"Patrick? It's me," she got up and went to his face. "I'm going to cut you free and we need to go."
"Robin? Oh God," he cried. "Is it really you? You came for me?"
She cut his ankles free and put the scissors back in her bag. She saw he was only wearing a gown, so she looked around and found some scrub pants.
"Come on. Let's put these on and we need to get out of here."
He sat up and didn't know if he would have the strength to move. She came over and put his legs in the pants and looked at him.
"Can you stand up? Just lean on me," she said and he did as she pulled the pants up. They were short on him, but it was better than nothing. She looked around and grabbed a few more supplies and looked at him.
"Come on. We need to go."
He leaned on her as they made their way to the door. She looked out and pulled him with her.
He stumbled and almost pulled her down, but she put his arm around her shoulder and almost carried him out the back of the building and into the cool evening air. She helped him to the shelter by the trees out of view and he collapsed to the ground.
"Don't move," she said and went to leave.
"No! Please don't go," he said weakly.
She held his face and smiled.
"I'm going to try and get the car. Don't worry," she said softly. She turned and ran carefully towards the front of the building and her heart sank when she saw her car on fire. The flames were shooting out and there was no way she could do anything. She turned and went back to Patrick.
"You came back?" he said through swollen eyes.
"Of course I came back," she said softly. "We need to get to a safer place until you can move better. I am going to need you to walk a little more, okay?"
"Okay," he panted through the pain and she helped him up. They walked into the wooded area and Robin found a cabin that looked to be empty. The whole campsite appeared to be abandoned.
"Come on," she said and led him to the door, which opened. There was a fireplace and she took a blanket out of her bag and lay it down before she helped him lie on it. She immediately looked for something to start a fire and she went to barricade the door, hoping they would be safe for the night.
She went back to him and saw he was passed out. She pulled out her gloves and the medical supplies and went to work fixing his wounds.
She couldn't bring herself to think of what had been done to him, so she simply did what she could do.
"You're going to be fine," she said as she worked. "This is nothing."
He lay there and didn't move. She felt her anxiety grow as she held his hand and simply sat with him. This was going to be a long night.
