Chapter 4 : Festival Preparations
Loki's POV
Today is Thursday and we are currently sorting out things for the school festival next Monday.
Monika: Ok, do you guys have any ideas for next Monday?
Sayori: Oh! Natsuki can bake the cupcakes and Yuri can do the decorations and me and Monika can make the pamphlets
Monika: What about Loki then?
Loki: I can draw a giant piece of artwork for you guys
Loki: And I can also help of you guys with your part
Yuri: Well, I can get some help with my decorations...
Natsuki: Well, my baking can get messy
Monika: That's good that you want to help one of your clubmates, but which one?
Yuri: I don't think Natsuki needs help after all she'll think of you as a burden
Natsuki: WHAT?! since when did I say that?!
Yuri: I think he should help me because how hard can baking be?
Natsuki: Very hard! and I also need some help on my part too ok?
Natsuki: Plus I didn't just magically grew bigger boobs when Loki join the club
Yuri: W-what? that's not true! Natsuki is making me look b-bad!
Loki: *Growl* CAN YOU TWO STOP?!
Both of them stopped arguing and changed their expression to anger to guilt
Loki: *Sigh* How about I help both of you ok?
Loki: I didn't say I couldn't help both of you
Loki: I can also check on Monika and Sayori if they need help
Monika: Then that settles it!
We went to on our normal day sharing poems, talking about poetry, and just having a great time. Then it was time for dismissal.
Monika: Before we leave exchange phone number with each other
Natsuki: Hey! dummy did you forget to exchange phone numbers?
Loki: Oh yeah, sorry it slipped out of my mind
Me and Natsuki exchanged phone numbers, then before I forget, I asked Yuri and Monika for their phone number before me and Sayori left.
Sayori: So, what's the plan?
Loki: Tomorrow, you and Monika can work in my house because I have the resources for you guys to work with and I can work on my canvas while you two work on your pamphlets
Loki:On Saturday, I can work on decorations with Yuri
Loki: And on Sunday, I can help Natsuki with the baking and the cupcakes can be the freshest on Monday
Sayori: Perfect! can you texted to everyone?
Loki: Yeah sure
I take out my phone and individually texted to everyone about the schedule.
Sayori: Bye Loki see you tomorrow!
Loki: You too!
As I get home I order a on Amazon and ready some things for I eat dinner take a shower and go to bed.
Friday Afternoon
Sayori: I'll go change my clothes, so see you guys in a couple minutes!
Monika: Ok i'll do the same
Loki: See you later you two
About 20 minutes passed and Sayori came to my house first, then Monika came to my house about 3 minutes later than Sayori. Sayori was wearing a pastel pink shirt that was up to her elbow and jean shorts, while Monika was wearing a green sweatshirt with some black jeans.
Loki: Ok both of you work on my counter table and i'll work in my room and call me if you guys need any help of some sort ok?
Sayori: Ok!
Monika: Ok!
Narrator's POV
Sayori and Monika were working on the pamphlets and they start talking about Loki
Monika: Did you ever knew that Loki was good at art?
Sayori: No not really, I thought he was kinda unmotivated but I guess he proved me wrong
Monika: He kind of reminds me of someone a couple weeks ago I saw
Sayori: Like who?
Monika: Did you remember their was a fight between two students?
Sayori: Oh yeah! Loki told me that a girl was being harassed my some creepy guy
Monika: Um...The girl you're talking about was me...
Sayori: Wait really?!
Sayori: The guy that fought your harasser was Loki
Monika: So he was the one!
Loki: Are you two talking about me?
Monika: N-no!
Sayori: N-no!
Loki: Ok then...
Monika: How can you even hear us?
Loki: Did you forget i'm a werewolf?
Monika: How did I forget that?
Loki's POV
For my artwork I was sketching the day having heaven-like creatures like pegasi,angels,fairies,and elves. Then for the night the monsters I drew werewolves (of course), demons,goblins, and vampires.
Monika and Sayori were checking up on me and the art project.
Sayori: Wow! it looks so good!
Monika: Yeah, when you're finish with this its gonna look great
Loki: Thanks
It was already 4:00 pm and it was almost time for them to leave.
Loki: So, do you guys want to eat dinner with me?
Loki: You guys don't need to eat with me though i'm just asking
Monika: Sure I would love to
Loki: What about your parents?
Monika: I can just say I ate with friends
Loki: Fair enough
Loki: I already know Sayori's eating with us
Loki: Both of you can sit in the couch watch some TV
Sayori: What shows do you have?
Loki: I have Netflix, HBO, and Amazon to choose from
Monika: Do you have any recommendations?
Loki: You can watch Stranger Things or Game of Thrones
During them picking a show, I was cooking some food for them putting in the seasoning and ingredients.
Sayori: What are you making?
Loki: Stir fried rice
Loki: What do you guys want to drink?
Sayori: Well, what do you have?
Loki: Water, milk, soda, juice, and ice tea
Monika: I'll take some water
Sayori: I want soda
Loki: Ok then
I give them their drinks and when I was done cooking the fried rice, I plated them then gave it to Sayori and Monika.
Sayori: *Eating* Mmm sho good!
Loki: Don't eat with your mouth open
Monika: Your pretty good with cooking
Loki: Yeah, since I don't have parents I have to cook for myself
We were all eating while watching Game of Thrones and having a great time together.
Monika: Guess its goodbye
Loki: Yeah, but we can still hang out together if you're ok with that
Monika: It sounds nice how about next Wednesday?
Loki: Sounds good
Sayori: Hey! how about me?
Loki: *Smiles* You can join us too
Monika: Ok see you on Monday you two
Sayori: You too
Loki: You too
As they both leave I prepare some thing for Saturday with Yuri and work on the canvas for couple more hours, then got to bed.
Saturday Evening...
I heard a knock on my door and as I quickly finish my lunch of a sandwich I open the door seeing Yuri.
Loki: Hi Yuri come in, by the way take off your shoes
Yuri: O-Ok
She takes off her ballet flat and goes inside my house.
Yuri: Do you have the materials we need?
Loki: Yeah, they're on my counter table
Yuri: I-I also brought some essential oils is that ok?
Loki: Sure what kind?
Yuri: Lavender
Loki: Ok
We both go to the counter table and Yuri puts on essential oils which makes the place smell nice and we start making the decoration
Loki: What are we making?
Yuri: We're making a banner that say "The Literature Club"
Loki: Ok sound good
Loki: I'll get my acrylic paint
As we are making the banner Yuri brings out a knife that has some writing on the blade and the blade handle had a blue marbling.
Loki: Cool knife Yuri
Yuri: T-thanks
Loki: You sound like your caught off guard
Yuri: I thought you would've made fun of me or be disgusted with me
Loki: Why would you think that?
Yuri: Some of the kids in my class whisper bad things about be like "She's a freak" or "Don't talk to her she's weird"
Loki: Everyone has their opinions of other people so just ignore it
Yuri: O-ok
Loki: So about your knife where did you get it?
Yuri: M-my father makes custom knives and he gave this knife to me for my 16th birthday
Loki: That's very cool to know
Loki: I also own 3 knives but their for protective purposes
Yuri: W-when is your b-birthday?
Loki: December 30 why did you ask?
Yuri: Just curious
After me and Yuri was done with the decorations she took the decorations and we both said our goodbyes, and I do the same process as last night for Natsuki and use my remanding time outlining of the sketch of the poster then go to bed.
Sunday morning...
I see someone next to my door and soon realized it was Natsuki, then I quickly ran to her.
Loki: Natsuki!
Natsuki: Huh?
Loki: Over here!
Natsuki: W-Why are outside?!
Loki: I was exercising
We both go into my house and I get the ingredients for the cupcakes for Natsuki.
Natsuki: Wow! you have a nice kitchen
Loki: Only for the best
I saw her lightly blush but it was probably just my imagination.
Natsuki: W-Well for a pro like me
Loki: Yup, you're a pro
She begins telling me and teaching me how to make the cupcakes, as I follow we begin talking about manga and the animes we watch while working.
Loki: Hey have you seen "Kiki's Delivery Service"?
Natsuki: No, is it good?
Loki: Yeah, if you want when we're done you can watch it with me
Natsuki: T-Thanks for the offer but my papa told me I have to go home at 14:00(2:00pm for American time)
Loki: We can watch it during the cupcakes are baking and if we have extra time we can watch the rest of it
Natsuki: O-ok then...
Loki: What animes have you watched?
Natsuki: I watched Parfait Girls, and the animes you told me to watch
Loki: Did you like them?
Natsuki: I really liked the "Sailor Moon" one and I haven't get to the " Kiss Him Not Me" one
Loki: Also what made you like baking? was it your mangas?
Natsuki: How did you know?
Loki: Remember we were both reading Parfait Girls and it clicked that you probably got inspired to bake because of the manga
Natsuki: Y-Yeah I forgot...
During the cupcakes were cooking, I turned on the TV and put on "Kiki's Delivery Service". As we were 30 minutes in the movie the cupcakes were done baking and cooling.
Natsuki: Aw, we were just in the good part
Loki: If we get done with this quicker we can watch the rest of the movie
Natsuki: Ok, fine...
Natsuki decorated the cupcakes with brown frosting, then put some chocolate pieces for the ears,nose, and eyes. I had some pink candy melts and used then for the dog tongues.
Loki: They look really good
Loki: Good job Natsuki
I patted her left shoulder as a "good work" gesture.
Natsuki: *Blushes* Y-You too...
Loki: We still have and hour and 30 minutes left so we can finish the movie on time
Natsuki and I go back to the couch and finish up the rest of the movie. It was time for her to leave and we say our goodbyes.
Natsuki: See you tomorrow
Loki: You too
Natsuki: C-Can we hang out like this again?
Loki: Yeah, anytime
She takes the cupcakes and leaves. I had some time to finish the poster which literally took the entire day for me to finish and it was already 2:00 in the morning and I only had 4 hours of sleep.
The Day of the Festival
I came to school with dark circles under my eyes feeling like a bag of bones. Sayori looked very concerned for me and asked me...
Sayori: Whats wrong Loki?
Loki: I only had 4 hours of sleeping doing the poster
Sayori: You shouldn't do that again!
Sayori: Its bad for your mental health
Loki: Ugh, fine mom
Sayori: *Giggle* See you later Loki
Loki: You too
We went to our separate classes I almost slept in all of my classes but luckily during lunch Monika lend me her notes after me telling her why I look so dead. Then, it was time for the festival.
