Chapter 7 : The Interrogation of Miracles
Kuroko stared to the window.
He just stared and stared to nothing with his empty blue sky eyes. He seems to think about something, but no one knows what is he thinking about.
Leaving the ongoing course in his class behind, he just wanders around and stares to Seirin's empty court from the window.
In the other place, Akashi Seijuurou, the student council president and basketball team captain of Rakuzan stared to his red cell phone in Rakuzan's student council president's room. In his school, there is a teacher's meeting ongoing, so he is permitted to use his cell phone and go to the student council president's room.
The red headed teen stared to his cell phone whose color matches his hair. His heterochromatic eyes read the text showed in his phone. The sender is 'Midorima Shintarou'.
After some minutes, he has done reading the message. He sighed and put the phone on the table. Then, he hold his head with his right hand. He closed his eyes and thinks about something.
'What is the meaning of Shintarou's message just now? It can't be a lie if it comes from him.. So, is that really true?'. Akashi seems to be really confused. Ten, he left his comfy red chair and walk to the window.
'Tetsuya, I wonder what are you thinking about right now?'
'I wonder what is Akashi-kun thinking right now…', Kuroko thought.
'I mean, if it's Midorima-kun, I'm sure that he will report that to Akashi-kun even without commanded by him. And it has been quite a long time since that incident happened, so I'm sure that Akashi-kun has received the message from Midorima-kun…'
Kuroko covered his face with his right hand. He seemed very confused. Of course, he knows about the one in that incident, the Kuroko in that incident. It's not himself, of course, but he's sure that it's him. But the problem is that Midorima and Kagami – not only them, but Kise, Aomine and the entire Seirin team as well has been encountering him directly. The only one who hasn't encountered him yet is Akashi. Kuroko can only hope that Akashi will not encounter him, because if he encounters him, it's the end. Kuroko can't do anything in front of Akashi's power.
"..ko.."
Kuroko closed his eyes and enjoys the moment. It is the most peaceful moments in his life, or even the last.
"..roko.."
Kuroko deeply closed his eyes and falls into sleep. His head slowly fall down on the desk.
"Kuroko!"
Kuroko surprised and go back to his original position. He looked around and find Kagami stands next to him.
"Have you awaken? The school's already over, you know. Wanna go home together? Or maybe stop in the usual basketball court?", he asked. 'It has been this late? How much time I've used for wondering around?'
Kuroko shakes his head and answered him, "No, Kagami-kun. Thank you for your invitation. I'm not in the mood for playing today. Anyway, has it been that late?"
"Yep, it is. Luckily the teachers don't notice you fall asleep. Oh yeah, Kuroko, if you can't accompany me playing basketball, can you accompany me buying a pair of new basketball shoes? I know that Ahomine had given a pair for me, but still, I want to repay him, you know…", Kagami said, rubbing the back of his head. His face blushed a little.
Kuroko turn his head to Kagami's blushed face and smiled. "Really, Kagami-kun, I think that you and Aomine-kun can make a great couple together."
"What did you say, Kuroko?"
"No, nothing, just forget it. Anyway, I accept your offer. I think I can help you pick Aomine-kun's shoes.", he said, preparing his bag and slide it on his shoulder, then walked outside the classroom.
"Oi, Kuroko! Wait for me!"
The two of them take the train to Akihabara, then they head straight to the basketball shop. The two of them had a hard time because they can't find a pair of shoes matching Kuroko's description about the shoes that Aomine likes. Then, after three hours searching, finally they find a pair of Air Jordan shoes with dark blue color, so they decided to buy them.
I front of the counter, Kagami's phone rang and he quickly take a look at it. After reading it carefully, he quickly put the phone in his pocket.
"Who is it, Kagami-kun?"
"Nah, it's just spam. Forget it.", he said. Then he paid the shoes and Kuroko just stared at him with his unusually sharp eyes. Even it's just for a little time, Kuroko can see it. The sender says 'Akashi Seijuurou'.
After paid the shoes, Kagami and Kuroko go to outside. Then, they go to the train station and buy two tickets for them each. After ten minutes, the train arrived and the two of them entered the train. In the train, both the teens chat about basketball, their team, and many more things.
After thirty minutes, the train arrived at the train station. As soon as they want to split, Kagami suddenly talked to Kuroko.
"Kuroko, why don't we go to Maji Burger? It's too late and I don't want you to faint in the middle of the way to your house, you know." ,Kagami said with his thumb up.
"Um, Kagami-kun, it's not that I want to reject you, but I don't bring any money, you know."
"It's alright! I promise that it's my treat."
Kuroko thinks for some seconds. But for the sake of his vanilla milkshake, he accepted the offer.
"Buy me an extra big sized vanilla milkshake, Kagami-kun.", Kurok said, walking beside Kagami.
"O..Okay then..", Kagami mumbled slowly.
In their way to Maji Burger, they continued their conversation earlier. Then, after a few minutes, they arrived at the destination point. As soon as Kagami wants to order, Kuroko suddenly said something to him.
"Umm, Kagami-kun, is it alright for us not to eat here?"
"What do you mean, Kuroko? I've already ordered our foods, you know. I even have ordered your extra big vanilla milkshake just as you want."
Even now, Kuroko wants to throw the vanilla milkshake instead of meeting with them. And moreover, it's with him.
"Okay then, Kuroko! Let's go to our seat, shall we?", Kagami said cheerfully, walking to the farthest table. Kuroko already guessed this and just follows him, but he also prepared to run.
"Oh, so all of you have arrived here, huh? You're so fast.", Kagami said, talking to the people in front of him.
'As I thought.'
Around the table, a set of rainbow haired teens sit calmly. Kagami sit beside Aomine, then beside him there is Kise, and in front of them there are Murasakibara, Midorima, and lastly, Akashi. Kagami pulled one of the chair.
"Kuroko? Why don't you sit?", Kagami said, munching his first burger.
"Um, I'm sorry, Kagami-kun. I suddenly remembered that I have something to-"
"Tetsuya. Sit."
Akashi's calm and terrifying voice successfully made all of them shocked. Kuroko can't move a little bit. He sighed and sit on the chair, facing all of them.
"So? What do you want to talk about, minna?", Kuroko asked, took his vanilla milkshake from Kagami's tray and sip it.
"You know what we want to ask about, Tetsuya.", Akashi said, folding his arm.
"If I say no?"
"I know that you know what we want to talk about, Tetsuya."
"Do everyone here knows about that?"
"Yes, they are."
"Hee…"
Kuroko put his hand on his chin and think for a few seconds. "I'm sorry, but I don't know the situation. Can someone explain to me about this?"
"I'll do it. Listen carefully, Kuroko.", Kagami said, then he began explaining the two stories. Sometimes the other GoM add something about the story to him, but Kuroko and Akashi just sit there while listening to him. Sometimes Kuroko casually sip his milkshake, and that is what that made Akashi suspicious of him.
'Even the other GoM or Kagami seems really scared or confused, but how come did he just casually sit there, even the one that they're talking about is him?'
'It's because I already know it, Akashi-kun. I know what are you thinking about.', Kuroko thought, and he sip his milkshake again.
After Kagami and the other teens have finished their story, Kuroko just replied with a small mumbling. Then, he stand up and walked away.
"Wait, Kuroko! Why don't you say something about it?!", Midorima shout at him. Luckily, the only customer there are just them, so there's nothing to worry about disturbing other customer or something like that.
"Hm? What can I comment about it, anyway?", Kuroko said casually, sipping the milkshake in his hand.
"Kurokocchi.. What did you do back then?", Kise whine to him.
"I don't even understand what are you talking about, minna-san."
"Kuro-chin, can you say something to us about them?"
"No."
"Tetsu! Can you just tell us something about the stories?"
"I said, no."
"Kuroko, please?"
"Why should I explain them to you, Kagami-kun?"
"Tetsuya! Enough! Explain to us about those events!"
"Hm? Why should I do that, Akashi-kun? I don't even understand about those events, you know. Why don't you just ask it to the 'other me'?"
They froze. Then Akashi speak at him with a commanding tone. "Tetsuya, explain to us about this 'other me'. Not just that, but all of those events yesterday and today morning as well."
"I already said it to you, right, Akashi-kun? I don't experience those events. In fact, I don't know even a little bit of them. I'm the one who should ask you, I think: Are those events real, or are you just dreaming or imagining something about that? Because I think, when I heard about Kagami-kun's explanation, everyone seemed to have different opinions. Are you sure that you aren't just daydreaming?"
All of them froze. They are not sure about it, but they don't cross it out of the list: a possibility hat they are just daydreaming, and they made an accusation like that in front of Akashi. Akashi just stared at them, waiting for their answers.
"Well.. We are not even sure, Kurokocchi…", Kise said to Kuroko with his head down.
"Yes there is a possibility like that, too..", Aomine said.
Kuroko just stay stoic, but deep inside his heart he felt very happy because he feels that he has won over them. Then, he walked away from the table.
"Wait, Kuroko!"
"What is it, Kagami-kun? Don't you know that it's all too late?"
"I..I'm-"
"Sorry? You don't have to do that. I have enough of your nonsense, Kagami-kun. I am tired of your stupid promise like today, like 'I want to buy a pair of new basketball shoes for Aomine' or 'I will treat you anything you like', right, Kagami-kun? Instead, you are just using this opportunity of our so called 'friendship' so you can invite me to many places because you have other intention like today. You are just using the opportunity to lure me here , hear those stupid stories and answer these stupid questions , and they are not even real, right? I'm quite disappointed of you, Kagami-kun. Even you haven't gave Aomine-kun the shoes."
"Wait, Bakagami, you, yourself WANTED to buy me a pair of new basketball shoes? That's great! Where is it, Kagami?", Aomine said, sneaking to take the plastic bag that Kagami holds.
"Daiki. Don't change the topic of the conversation.", Akashi said, staring to him. It made him shiver and fixed his position again.
"So? Tetsuya, what do you want?"
"What do I want?", Kuroko said, walked away from the table and go straight the door. "To go away from here.", after saying that, Kuroko disappeared to the darkness of night, leaving the other teens confused.
'Did I win from them? That's great.', Kuroko thought, walking in the middle of darkness. He seemed very happy.
'It's for them too, though.. So I think it's alright for me or even to them.'
And he doesn't realized that a shadow looked straight to the other teens in Maji Burger, smirking widely.
In the other place, precisely in Maji Burger, the GoMs and Kagami just sit there silenty.
"I'm going home, Akashicchi..", Kise said, whining to Akashi.
"Wait."
Akashi suddenly said to all of them, making them 'awake' from their despair.
"What is it, Akashi? There is nothing that we can talk about.", Midorima said, pushing his glasses.
"No, there is something that we must talk about. Everyone, sit.", Akashi commanded them. After all of them sit, Akashi talks to them.
"Tetsuya is lying."
"Huh? Are you sure, Aka-chin?"
"Yes, I'm sure. His attitude when you explain about the story is too normal. For someone that heard about the story for the first time supposedly to be very confused or surprised, but he didn't. He just sit there, watching all of you. His reaction is too normal, too. So I'm sure that he's lying."
"Then, what can we do, Akashi?", Aomine asked him.
Akashi smirks to them and said calmly, "I have a plan."
Upupupu, this chapter ends here.. *u* /slapped
I wonder what will Akashi's plan be? ^^
And I know, in this chapter Kuroko seemed very OOC.. ;w;
But it's alright, right? After all, OOC is unique..xD /no /slapped
