Katie's POV

My shoulder really hurt. We were stuck at the stupid doctors while they checked me up, made sure I wasn't sick, and painfully reset my shoulder. I cried out when it popped back into place and mommy growled. Mr. Dimitri, who's apparently my daddy, had to hold momma back from killing the niceish doctor lady. She then put my arm in a sling and started fixing all my cuts.

I tried putting on a brave face from the sting of the disinfectant but right when she pulled out a needle and thread I was done with it. I started struggling while tears flowed freely down my cheeks. And since this cake made of pain needed icing she of course got out shot. Now I was struggling in earnest. Momma was too and Mr. Dimitri was close to letting her go. I needed my momma to hold me right now, comfort me. "Momma!" I cried. Reaching for her even though it hurt my shoulder I struggled against the doctor's grip on my arm to stop me from falling. The only thing I wanted was to be in momma's arms. Have her hold me and her special momma scent encompass me.

Momma twisted around and said to Mr. Dimitri, "If you don't let me go comfort our daughter right now I will break your perfect nose and arm and leg until you're stuck in a wheelchair unable to be a guardian until Katie turns ten." Mr. Dimitri immediately released momma's upper arms and not a moment later she was at my side, pulling me into her arms then sitting where I had been before with me on her lap. I rested against momma's back hearing her murmur words of reassurance and her gentle touch stroking my back. I squeezed my eyes shut from the pain of a needle and thread tugging my flesh back together. Tears fell from my shut eyes and I whimpered in pain. I heard momma growl and she stopped rubbing my back for a moment then I felt a new much bigger and more calloused started rubbing my back. I opened my eyes to see Mr. Dimitri, should I just call him daddy I'll call him daddy, daddy rubbing my back. Momma started running her fingers threw my hair which helped me quiet my whimpers. I leaned against daddy's chest and squeezed my eyes even tighter to try and stop the tears. They wouldn't give me any painkillers because I banged my head so hard, well Tasha did but still, that I have a concussion. Apparently the medicine would make me to drowsy and cause me to fall asleep which was a big no-no. I groaned in discomfort as she stuck the needle into my skin for the shot she was giving me.

After twenty minutes she was finally done sewing me up and I could go to sleep if momma made sure to wake me up every hour. One last needle was implanted in my skin full of a wonderful drug that immediately caused my open eyes to flutter shut and I was out like a light.
