Andre's POV
I'm so happy Katie's home. Auntie Rose and Mr. Dimitri haven't left her side since she returned almost a week ago. I miss having playdates with her and I can tell Emmy does too. Everyones' been super overprotective of us too. Aunt Tasha is now a Strigoi so she's twice as deadly and apparently crazy. I've taken it upon myself to be Emmy 24/7 bodyguard. She's only a baby so she can't protect herself very well even with her amazing powers. Nobody's allowed to even look at Emily unless they're trusted family or friends.
Today momma and daddy were taking us to the park in Court. Auntie Rose and Mr. Dimitri were going to bring Katie so we could finally play. We had ten guardians with us and two were specifically for Katie and me. Momma and daddy were going a little bit overprotective but I was secretly glad. Aunt Tasha is terrifying, like pee-your-pants scary.
One of my guardians, a nice girl named Terra who was more like a big sister or aunt, was pushing me on the swings while joking with me. Emmy was on a baby swing next to me getting pushed gently by one of her guardians, Jake, who was like an older brother to both of us. He was cooing over her, earning giggles and a toothless grin. I gasped when I saw Katie in auntie Rose's arms. She had a sling on one of her arms and Band-Aids on her face and neck. Even still she had a shiny smile and was trying to get down from auntie Rose's embrace. She finally succeeded and ran/limped over to the swing next to mine. One of mine and Emmy's other guardians came over and started pushing Katie while Emmy started a mind convo with us.
"Hey guys sorry I've been gone. Momma and daddy have been keeping me under lock and key," Katie thought.
"It's okie. I'm just glad you're here now," I though and saw Katie blush red. Interesting. Emmy's emotions showed that she agreed. Emmy exuded happiness which caused our smiles to widen. God my baby sis is adorable. "Have auntie Rose made any progress finding Tasha?"
"No that's another reason why momma and daddy have been so much more overprotective. Apparently she's tricked one of the younger Guardians into helping her so he's hiding her somewhere in Court," Katie explained.
"Do they know which Guardian?" I asked.
"They suspect that it's Tony Giovani. The guy that showed up a month ago," Katie thought. Emily's emotions showed she agreed with Katie and was actually scared of him.
"That's not surprising considering how shifty he was. Come on let's go play on the slide," I thought. Katie and I ran off to the jungle gym and played until momma and daddy took us home. We got home at around 4:30 am and Emmy went to sleep. Nobody saw the strange man outside the window the rest of the night.
