But first, I want to thank my fellow reviewers, favoritors, and followers. ( It makes me extremely happy when you guys do that! )
I want to thank my repeating reviewers who had been there since the beginning. Your constant encouragement makes me want to improve my story and updates.
Xxdreamergirl95xX, NeitherSaneNorInsane, Multitules, thanks you guys for commenting since the beginning! ( brings tears to my eyes ) ( T v T )
Multitules-San, I just want to thank you for your advice to change the P.O.V.s, I also thought it was confusing. I listened, so I changed it to 3rd person. Hope it's easier to read.
I also changed the summary if you haven't noticed, I noticed that it was sorta muddled so I wanted to make it more clear. Love it? Hate it? Still confusing!?
I want to thank the new viewers for my story, it's not much but hope you like it! With all that said, CHAPTER 5 START-O!
Kasamatsu was just walking from the convenience store, buying a bottle of green tea and cup of ramen as he started to head home. Peering inside the plastic bag, he grabbed the green tea.
"I guess I got into the habit of drinking tea from Kyou." Kasamatsu smiled as he took a sip of green tea.
For the past few weeks, Kasamatsu has been extremely happy. Why wouldn't he be happy? He has been spending his days with the person he loves. The girl who got him out of his shell, the only girl that could make him smile, the girl who had such a huge influence in his life, Kuroko Kyou.
He said that he would make Kyou fall for him, but Kasamatsu didn't know the first thing about making girls fall for him. It wasn't like Kasamatsu was ugly, heck, girls had hit on him before, but the thought of Kyou still lingered in his mind when he would reject the girls that courted him.
Kasamatsu tried some techniques he learned from the websites that Moriyama recommended, but it all ended with failure. At first he tried using some pick up lines, saying cheesy shit such as, "If I had a star for every time you have brightened my day, I would have a galaxy in my hand."
After saying that particular line, Kyou just bursted out in laughter.
He could remember the sight of her shaking figure as she wiped the tears off of her beautiful face. Kyou then replied, "Hello, I'm a thief and I'm here to steal your heart? Did the sun come out or are you just smiling at me? No wonder the sky is grey today, because all the blue is in your eyes? Senpai...are you trying to mimic Moriyama-senpai? I already heard that one though!" Kyou teased as Kasamatsu's face grew redder and redder.
He now knew that these techniques are never going to work on Kyou, unless he wanted to end up as a laughing stock every time Kyou saw him.
So in the end, he resorted to the ways of a kindergartner and started to teased the very girl he liked. Childish isn't it?
First it was teasing her about her nickname, 'Kyou-chan-sensei'. At first it started as a joke, but eventually the name caught on to all of the students and teachers. Saying such a nickname fits the kind and cute, Kuroko-sensei. Bewildering Kyou when everyone started addressing her that way.
He then would try to pester her every moment he saw her, by doing things such as messing with her perfect teal blue hair, pestering her to have tea together and to blocking her way from the door. Which would result Kasamatsu to receive some punches from Kyou, but thank god she wasn't strong enough to make it hurt.
What made it extremely obvious was the hair ruffling. What started as a ploy of teasing, later turned to a way he showed his affection. It soon became a normal occurrence for the students and teachers to find coach Kasamatsu ruffling Kyou-chan-sensei's hair.
It was a wonder Kyou didn't find out when the entire school knew about his one-sided love.
Kasamatsu then stopped in the middle of the road and he started to repent his actions. He sighed as he thought of those embarrassing moments until he noticed a cab driving past him and stopping in front of a children's playground.
He was surprised when he found the very person he was just thinking of. Kyou step out of the cab, and Kasamatsu was about to call out to her, but he noticed something about Kyou, something wrong. Kasamatsu could see her Caribbean blue eyes red and puffy, as tears started to form on her beautiful face.
Kyou quickly fled into the park, as Kasamatsu quickly followed.
He watched her retreating figure head over to a pair of park swings, as she quickly sat down and suddenly bursted into tears.
Kasamatsu didn't know why but his heart twisted in a way he never knew, just seeing her shivering figure and the sounds of her sniffles made him want to wrap Kyou around his arms and just kiss her.
But Kasamatsu wasn't the type of man to force a kiss on a girl, if he were had the chance to kiss Kyou, he wanted to do it right. He is a gentleman of course.
Kasamatsu couldn't take it anymore, he walked towards Kyou and took out a handkerchief from his pocket. "You need a shoulder to cry on?"
Kyou hearing the sound of a familiar voice, looked up. Her beloved senpai was standing right before her, holding a handkerchief in his hand and a slight smile. Seeing him, Kyou abruptly stood up and ran towards him. Wrapping her arms around his muscular figure as she silently cried in his chest.
Surprised by her sudden actions, Kasamatsu could only blush. His heart beating out of his chest as her warm figure was against his chest. Kasamatsu slowly reciprocated her hug and tentatively wrapped his arms around her small frame as he started whispering reassuring words as Kyou continued to cry in his chest.
She just rested her face against Kasamatsu's chest as he spoke, still sniffling from her sobs. Kyou always felt comfort when she was around senpai, always being able to tell him her problems. She knew Kasamatsu would question why she was crying, and to explain, she had to tell senpai the sudden reunion with her ex-boyfriend. But how was she suppose to tell him? Does she start from square-one or just get to a point? To be honest, Kyou felt a bit okay, no, very afraid about how Kasamatsu was going to react as Kyou knew from past experience that Kasamatsu does have a bit of a temper and protectiveness over her.
Kasamatsu continued rubbing her back, until Kyou pulled away from their hug. She tried putting on her best smile, hoping that it was enough to fool senpai, "Thanks...I needed someone right now..."
Kasamatsu wasn't fooled, as he stood behind the swing and patted the seat, motioning Kyou to sit down.
Understanding his movements, Kyou slowly sat down as Kasamatsu started to push the swing. "What happened Kyou? And don't try to change the subject this time."
As Kyou was swinging in the air, she took a deep breath to pace and calm herself, turning her head to look at Kasamatsu, Kyou whispered, "Well...don't be mad or do anything rash when I tell you this okay?"
Kasamatsu just nodded, which Kyou took as a sign to continue on.
"I saw Ryouta again."
She could feel Kasamatsu tense up but Kyou still continued.
"It was nothing though...I haven't really told anybody this, but I have a part-time job."
"Part-time job?" Kasamatsu questioned.
Nodding her head slightly, Kyou replied with a yes. "I need the money to rent out a apartment. So when I started working part-time, I worked at this housekeeping agency. It's an easy job and the money was good, so I thought why the heck not?"
Kyou explained, but as she was about the get to the part about Kise, she felt as if something was lounged in her throat.
"B-but today I was filling in for a coworker...a-and I didn't know...I-I didn't know she was cleaning his place...so I just saw him and ran..." After finishing her explanation, Kyou was silent. Tears started to stream down her porcelain-skin as her grip tightened around the swing chain.
"What am I going to do senpai...I don't know what to do..." Kyou whimpered as she started to sniffle once again.
Kyou haven't seen Kise for ten years, how was she suppose to act? Normal? Well that wasn't an option for Kyou. Her feelings were in shambles and her thoughts were all cluttered, Kyou wasn't in her right mind to think logically at this moment.
She then felt a strong grip holding onto her shoulder as she slowly stopped swinging. Turning back to see Kasamatsu with a serious look in his onyx eyes.
"Kyou are you still in love with Kise?"
Surprised with his sudden question Kyou didn't know how to answer. "Honestly...I don't know...do I love him? Do I hate him? I just don't know..."
Kasamatsu was quiet, looking deep in thought until he looked to stare at her eyes. "Kyou...we have been friends for 13 years, and throughout our years of friendship, you never told me the reason why you and Kise broke up. I'm not forcing you to tell me, but I feel like you don't trust me enough to tell me the reason why." Kasamatsu calmly stated as he looked at Kyou.
"I-I know you and Kise's situation is complicated...but can you tell me why? It hurts me when you aren't telling me anything and it honestly hurts to see you this way.
Kyou hearing her senpai's honesty made her feel extremely guilty. Every word that Kasamatsu said was true. Why wasn't she able to trust him, her beloved friend and senpai she respected over the years.
Heck, she could remember he high school days when she would come to Kasamatsu to rant about her problems or blurt out any secrets she heard. Trying to give her advice as he stuttered and made a fool out of himself.
"Do you want the whole story or the crucial points?" Kyou asked with a timid smile forming on her face.
"The key points please, I already know everything for the most part."
She took a deep breath as Kyou started to share one of the darkest moments in her life. "Did you know Kise had a childhood friend?"
"Childhood friend?" Kasamatsu questioned, he never heard Kise mentioning he ever had one.
Kyou nodded. "Unknown to everyone he had one." Kyou let out a half-hearted chuckle. "Funny thing was that Ryouta was in love with her...isn't that hilarious!?"
Kasamatsu was silent as Kyou took another deep breath, trying to calm herself from her anger.
"Anyways...it was as if it was one of those romantic novels...you know, where the boy knew the girl since they were kids, boy falls for girl, girl breaks his heart and he becomes heartbroken, boy moves on to find another girl, but girl comes back and confesses her love for him, and happily ever after right?
Silence.
"In a story like that...you would always think that they were the ultimate couple, the 'childhood friend' how could another girl get in between the love of childhood friends? But didn't the author of such novels, ever think about the other girl?! Where is her happy ending?!" Kyou spat out, as pure anger and sadness shown in her words.
Kyou looked at Kasamatsu with blue eyes that were dull and empty. "I was the other girl..."
Finally an explanation! I'm going to give you guys some sort of flashback in the next chapter! Sorry that this chapter was sorta crappy...Gomenasai!
