Not gonna say much this time in the author notes, soooo...Chapter Seven...START-O!
Kyou was diligently washing the dishes. After the basketball game between Kyouta, Tetsu, and Kasamatsu, somebody had to be the responsible one and do the dishes. Rinsing and scrubbing the grime off of each plate after plate, she sighed heavily.
Although the night had been fun and distracting, she was still a little shakened up from what happened earlier that night. Kyou clutched her chest and crumpled the dress she was wearing. She could recall everything that had happened just a few moments ago.
Kyou lost her footing as she slowly fell backwards, on instinct Kyou tried to grab the closest object near her. Unaware that she clutched onto Kise's shirt, they both fell down. Kyou was waiting for a sudden feel of impact to reach her back, but to feel an arm gripping her back protectively as the arm soon reached impact with the floor. Kyou's landed on her back and her hands still clutched onto Kise's shirt as Kise's arm was tentatively wrapped around her back, a hand landing on the other side of her head.
She subconsciously touched her arm, remembering Kise's warm touch. The feeling of his arm gently wrapped around her back, she felt as if there were butterflies fluttering in her stomach.
"Kyou! Wait!" Kise yelled as he ran towards Kyou.
But it was too late. Kise was just in front of her as the elevator door closed.
"Stop thinking about it!" Kyou reprimanded herself. She had decided long ago to disassociate herself from her past. She lightly slapped her cheeks, snapping herself out of such thoughts.
After she finished washing a few plates, Kyou turned the kitchen lights off and headed for the bedroom. Opening the door as quietly as she could, Kyou slowly stepped inside the room. Kyouta was sleeping soundly on the bed with the sheets brought to his waist because of his constant tossing in bed. Kyou went over to the bed and situated herself beside her son, covering them both in the sheet. Gently rubbing Kyouta's head, she pulled him into an embrace.
I have my son who needs me now. I can't afford thinking of anything else. I don't have time for such unnecessary thoughts. Kyou thought bitterly. A small tear streaming down her shut eyes as she silently cried herself to sleep.
Kise was restless the entire night. All night he had been trying to erase Kyou from his mind. With one arm slung over his head and above his forehead, he covered his eyes while the other clenched onto the sheets, held tightly to release the frustrations he had bottled up inside. With that brief meeting he had earlier that day, he found himself drowning with thoughts full of Kyou. Memories that he loved and felt extremely guilty to resurfaced.
-Flashback-
On a windy spring day, two teenagers, both a couple, were walking through a path of sakura trees. The beautiful pink flowers overflowing from the treetops as they gracefully fell to the ground. A girl with vibrant teal hair that was adorned with a sakura clip, was happily humming as she ran through the park. Her long locks flowing through the wind as her laughter soon filled the air, rosy pink cheeks tinged from the cool spring weather. Following close behind her, a boy with golden blonde hair chased her as he had an equally huge grin plastered on his face, his laughter mixing with the girl's own laughter.
The girl soon feeling tired as she sat back on a bench, staring up at the colorful treetops while trying to catch her breath. The boy stared at her and she looked at him with the most radiant smile which was gladly returned by the boy. He sat down besides the girl as he took her hand and watched as she breathed softly.
"I had fun Ryouta, who knew you could still be such a charmer after 7 years." Kyou said as she heaved heavy breaths of air.
"That's because I'm still the same charming guy you met in middle school." Ryouta confidentially said as he rested on the crook of her neck.
"True..." Kyou grinned, both of them laughing.
Soon silence fell as Kyou curled against Kise, nuzzling against his lean but muscular chest.
"I wish we could be together forever Ryouta." Kyou whispered distantly as she looked straight ahead to the expanse of the plains, watching the pink petels as they danced with the wind. Kise looked at Kyou with a blush staining his cheeks.
"O-Of course! Why wouldn't we be?" Kise uttered nervously. Why am I so nervous?
"It's nothing. I'm just happy that we're together." Kyou said, turning to face Kise. Giving him a smile that rivaled the brilliance of the sun.
Kise smiled and said, "Then from now on I'll stay by your side by your side Kyoucchi~" he extended his right hand with his pinky raised up.
The bluenette's eyes sparkled and she extended her hand connecting with Kise's pinky as they swore their promise.
She giggled lightly. "Kyou is fine! It's weird when you call me Kyoucchi Ryouta."
"It's cute..." Kise whined.
"Then do you want me to call you Baka-Ryou-tan all the time? I think that nickname is adorable!" Kyou exclaimed as a teasing smirk formed on her lips.
The blonde sighed as he gave in to his girlfriend's whim. "Fine...I promise I'll be with you forever Kyou."
She smiled as she leaned towards Kise and captured his lips. Kissing for a few seconds or so until she broke their kiss. "Then it's a promise Baka-Ryou-tan~"
There was a comforting silence between the two for awhile. Kise was the one to break the silence by taking Kyou's hand and guiding her to a small ice cream stand. Kyou jumped up from surprise but she didn't shake Kise's hand off. She just looked at their hands then at Kise's face who was looking ahead.
"L-Let's get some ice cream, i-it's your favorite right?" Kise nervously said as he turned a deep shade of crimson.
Kyou just blinked and giggled at how cute her boyfriend was reacting. She squeezed his hand reassuringly and walked ahead of him, pulling him forward. "Strawberry for you right Ryouta? I know it's your favorite." Kyou said as she smiled back at him while she dragged him to the stand.
Kise stared in awe for a moment, her beautiful smile warming him up and he found himself returning that smile. "How did you know Kyou?"
She just looked at Kise with surprise and grinned. "Because I'm your girlfriend you idiot!"
-End of Flashback-
Kise punched the side of his bed. He was angry at himself for ever letting Kyou go. For ten years, ten years he had tried to suppress his feelings for her. When they broke up, he tried to forget about her. Having an on and off relationship with Miki for a few years, his love grew for Kyou was even stronger.
He understood it was his fault, his stupid mistake and he had to be the one to carry that burden. Nothing could ever be Kyou's fault. She treated him kindly, being the sweet and beautiful girlfriend she was, he took her for granted. Kise pressed his palms against his eyes to try to stop memories from resurfacing again.
I never expected to see her so soon...why did she have to look so tempting?
Kise could remember the way she looked when she was trapped under him. His heart beating out of his chest when he felt her breath softly tickling his ears and the alluring scent of peaches and sakura blossoms engulfing his senses. The sight of her flushed face and pale rose colored lips that looked so soft and kissable...Kyou was so enticing.
Just seeing her once and he was acting like a love sick fool. He was going to try to get her back in his life, he doesn't care if she pushes him away or if she had never forgiven him...as long as she was able to look at him with a true smile, it didn't really matter if they were together.
He groaned as he sat on the side of his bed, ruffling his hair roughly as he stood up and headed for the kitchen. When he got to his kitchen, he opened the wine cabinet and grabbed a bottle of tequila. Popping the bottle open, he poured himself a shot of tequila and chugged it. Feeling a sudden rush of blood reach his head, he poured himself another shot and drank.
Throughout the night, Kise drank shot after shot until he fell asleep.
Kyou slowly woke up after crying herself to sleep last night. She looked at her son who was still sound asleep in the bed clutching her chest as he breathed softly. Kyou smiled as she leaned down and kissed Kyouta's forehead and whispered into his ear.
"Wake up sweetie, you have school today." Kyou whispered while gently shaking her son's shoulder.
Kyouta woke up and yawned. He instantly held onto his mama and greeted her good morning. With a smile on his face, he pecked her cheek and ran out of the bedroom to brush his teeth.
She smiled as she got up to fix the bed, folding the blanket and arranging the pillows as she placed everything in the correct position. After that task was done, she went to the closet and grabbed Kyouta's outfit for the day, a t-shirt and basketball shorts.
Kyouta ran into the bedroom. Kyou handed him his clothes as she left the room to give him some privacy to change and headed downstairs to prepare breakfast.
Grabbing pots and pans as she cranked the heat up on the stove, she prepared sunny-side up eggs with a side of breakfast sausages and toast with butter and jam.
The smell of the delicious breakfast that Kyou had prepared wafted around the house, as everyone in the Kuroko household got out of bed and onto the table. As soon as everyone finished breakfast, Tetsu and Satsuki got ready to walk Kyouta to school.
"I'll be going now Mama-ssu!" Kyouta said as slipped on his backpack and kissed her goodbye on the cheek as Tetsu and Satsuki waved her goodbye before headed off to school.
"Wait Kyouta!" Kyou exclaimed as she grabbed her son by the shoulders. Crouching down the floor until they were at eye level, she placed her hands on top of his head and started to tentatively fix his bed head. She smiled, "Now it's perfect. You're ready for school now Kyouta."
"Thanks Mama! Bye now-ssu!"
Kyou smiled and said her goodbyes as headed back inside the house. Kyou went over to the kitchen and grabbed the dirty dishes off the table and into the sink. Too tired to wash the dishes right then and there, she decided to put it off till later.
She then sat down the couch, resting her head on a pillow cushion and she let her mind wander as she remembered the dream she had last night. Rather memory, she had thought she had already forgotten.
-Flashback-
Kise and Kyou were sitting in a booth together in their usual date spot. It was a small ice cream parlor that rested in the corner of a old shopping district. Although the shop was a little old and deserted, they made amazing ice cream and it was a plus that none of Kise's fan girls would be able to find their secret meeting spot to interrupt their date.
Currently Kise was aimlessly babbling about his day while Kyou was tentatively listening.
"Then Kasamatsu-senpai kicked me again!? Can you believe it?" Kise exclaimed.
Kyou pouted as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Hmph! I can't blame Kasamatsu-senpai. I should thank him since you were probably acting all dumb and giddy because of your fangirls."
"Aw...come on Kyou...they're just my fans and they mean no harm. You're the most important girl to me Kyou." Kise said sweetly as he wrapped his arm around her and leaned in, giving her forehead a gentle kiss. "And that was only the first kiss for today..."
Kyou blushed. Leaning against Kise's shoulder as she tried to hide her flushed face from her teasing boyfriend. "Idiot Ryouta...you can't just kiss me like that in public."
The waitress soon arrived with their sundaes and placed the green tea one in front of Kise, and the strawberry one in front of Kyou.
Kyou blushed a deeper shade of crimson as she immediately scooted away from Kise, muttering an embarrassed thanks to her waitress.
She watched the waitress, waiting for her to leave the booth so that she could dig in the wonderous taste of her sweet strawberry sundae. She never really liked it when people would eye her and her boyfriend while she ate. Receiving jealous or murderous glares 75% of the time.
The waitress glared at her for awhile before she noticed that another table had called for her, finally leaving their booth to help another table.
Kyou sighed in relief, finally finding the chance to dig in to the sweet. But before she could, she glanced at Kise.
Her lips turned upward. She couldn't help but giggle at the dissatisfied look on his face. Kise slowly put the spoon in his mouth, he cringed at the taste. Kise forcing himself to eat his green tea sundae.
Kise didn't want to admit that his favorite ice cream flavor was strawberry. He deemed that it was 'unmanly' and his pride wouldn't let him order anything other than green tea, chocolate, or vanilla.
Sighing at the sight of her stubborn boyfriend, she never really could understand the concept of male pride and the weird tendencies that they had. Why couldn't they admit they like or dislike certain things? The world would never know.
Time to pull out the good girlfriend card.
Grabbing a bit of strawberry ice cream, she ate few scoops as the sweet flavor of strawberry spread through her mouth. She then started to pretend to cringe at the taste, putting up a unsatisfied front. Looking up at her boyfriend, Kyou pouted as she put her hands together in a begging manner.
"Ryouta...can we please switch sundaes?" She gave him her best puppy dog face to make him willing enough to trade sundaes while keeping his pride intact. What a great girlfriend she was.
She continued to stare at Kise, a sparkling aura started emulating around Kyou.
Kise struggled to keep up with his cool facade, seeing the sight of his girlfriend putting on the most convincing and adorable puppy dog face, he gave in to her request. Kise couldn't even stand the taste of the green tea sundae anyway. "Sure, I can't say no to you Kyou." Kise smiled inwardly as he pushed his sundae towards her.
"Great! Thanks Ryouta, you're the best." Kyou said happily as she started to indulged in the green ice cream.
Kise flushed a bit as he looked away, propping his elbow on the table as he covered his cheek with his large hand, trying to hide his pink tinted cheeks. "I-It's my job as your boyfriend after all..."
"Oh stop trying to act so cool. You're so un-Ryouta like being all stutter-y and blush-y. I like my idiotic and loving boyfriend the best." Kyou said knowingly while she took another bite from her sundae.
Kise feeling a little hurt from being called idiotic, smirked. He leaned closer to Kyou, blowing in her ear as he whispered, "so you like your boyfriend the best?"
Kyou stopped eating her ice cream, dropping her spoon as it clattered on the table. Noticing the embarrassing effect her words had, she started getting flustered. "A-Ah...t-tha that...umm...whatimeanttosaywas!" Kyou stuttered frantically as she tried to hide the blush on her face .
Kise took the hand that were covering cheeks, revealing the sight of a crimson-faced beauty. Kyou blushed even deeper, her Carribean eyes trying to avoiding his gaze. Kise was inching his face closer to hers and using his nose to nudge Kyou to face him. She slightly turned to look at her boyfriend, when he unexpectedly captured her lips.
The two completely melted against each other, sharing a innocent and loving kiss.
Breaking their kiss, Kyou could only stare at the melted remains of her sundae as she stirred the green liquid shyly.
Kise stared at her with a playful smile, "You tasted delicious Kyou~"
Kyou looked up at her boyfriend with a slight blush, trying to regain her composure as she tried to retort back at Kise. "You tasted like strawberries Ryouta..."
Kise put up two fingers as he teasingly smiled. "And that was the second kiss for today and there are many more to come~"
"Out of how many?!" She questioned.
"It's a secret~"
-End of Flashback-
Kyou jerked away from her thoughts and placed two hands on her cheeks. They felt warm and she assumed she was blushing. Subconsciously touching her lips, she could remember the feeling of Kise's warm lips teasing her own. The tingling feeling lingered even though it only lasted for a moment. She shook her head to keep her thoughts straight and decided to get ready for work at the housekeeping agency.
She stood up and gotten ready to go upstairs and change but Kyou remembered that she was now in charge of cleaning Kise's unit.
She groaned inwardly, looking uneasy since she really wasn't ready to face him again.
I'll finish cleaning the unit when he isn't around and I can just request my manager to appoint me to a new client instead of Ryouta after work. I just hope that he isn't here today...
