"Damn!"

Kise cursed as the basketball bounced off the rim. Kise irritatedly glared at the rim, missing the hoop for the hundredth time.

Guess that's what I get for downing a whole bottle of tequila so early in the morning. Kise thought regretfully as he clutched his head in frustration.

"Oi Kise, is it just me or do you suck like hell?"

Kise slowly turned to the source of the sound, glaring at the tan-skinned ganguro that suddenly appeared beside him. "I don't need any of your sarcastic remarks so early in the afternoon Aominecchi...I'm already suffering enough."

The tan-skinned male smirked, grabbing the ball that rolled by their feet.

Positioning the ball in his hands, he freely threw the ball towards the hoop. The basketball flawlessly made it inside the net, falling to the ground as it slowly bounced and rolled to their feet once again.

"That's what you get for drinking so much you idiot."

Turning to look at the male, all Kise could do was sigh, him being too tired to argue against the ganguro. "How'd you know that I have a hangover?" Kise questioned.

"I've come in practice with a hangover sometimes, I have a keen sense in this sort of thing."

Kise scoffed, grabbing the ball from Aomine's hand as he started to dribble. "I could imagine Aominecchi..."

Aomine frowned at Kise's lack of reaction. Grabbing his sports bag that was resting on his shoulder, he unzipped the bag and grabbed a bottle of pocari.

"Drink this. It's the perfect remedy for a killer hangover." Aomine said as he handed Kise pocari. "I don't know what's been hanging over you but whatever it is, just get over it."

Kise softly smiled, taking the drink from Aomine as he popped the cap open and drunk the mixture. Taking a few sips, he already felt a thousand times better. "Thanks Aominecchi...for the drink and all."

Aomine shrugged, slapping Kise's back reassuringly as he started to walk towards the gym doors. "I don't need your thanks idiot. Just make sure you're in top condition when I beat you again. Take a walk or something, it'll probably cool your head off."

Opening his mouth slightly, Kise was about to retort to the ganguro's arrogant remark, but to quickly find the said man to have suddenly disappeared.

The entire gym was silent. Kise was alone inside the huge gymnasium. As the silence grew on him, his thoughts quickly wandered back to Kyou.

The recent conversation with Aomine reminding him of the entire reason why he had the hangover in the first place. Just the thought of her made him go out of wack. He knew that she probably hated him from the bottom of her heart but that just made him yearn for the teal-headed beauty even more.

Sighing, Kise ruffled his golden blonde hair with irritation. He walked over to the bench and picked up his bag and towel. Kise wiped of the beads of sweat that remained on his skin as he started to head over to the locker room.

Maybe I should really listen to Aominecchi's advice and run this irritation away. Maybe that can clear my mind for now so I can get back to work.

The bell chimed as the students of Taiyou elementary started to chatter. The children cheerfully rushed out of the building. The horrendous make-up tutorial day was finally over.

In classroom 4-A, there was a teal-head boy, cheerfully humming as he started to pack up his school materials. Kyouta just had a grueling day of math and history tutoring and to be finally done, it felt like bliss to the small boy. He slipped on his backpack as he started to head out of the classroom, saying goodbye to a few of his basketball buddies before he left.

"Bye Daisuke, see you tomorrow-ssu." Kise said as he fist bumped with his best friend and center of Taiyou elementary basketball team, Aizawa Daisuke.

Daisuke smirked, returning the fist bump. "See ya tomorrow Kyouta, remember we have practice alright!"

"Of course! I wouldn't miss it for the world-ssu!" Kyouta laughed, as he left the classroom.

"Bye bye Kyouta-kun!" Girls squealed and waved as he walked down the hall.

Kyouta turning to look at the girls, smiled. "Bye. See you guys tomorrow-ssu." Kyouta exclaimed as he gave them all a small wave.

The girls swooned at the sight of Kyouta's smile, cutely chattered to each other as Kyouta strolled pass them. Gushing about the cute teal-headed boy that just recently transferred into their school.

Kyouta was walking down the hallway, but suddenly his homeroom teacher, Tanaka-sensei, called him to the teachers' lounge.

Kyouta sighed, ruffling his teal locks as he headed for the teachers' lounge. Not wanting another lecture from his teacher about the same subject over and over again. Arriving, he slowly opened the sliding door, strolling inside as he sat down in the chair positioned directly in front of Tanaka-sensei.

Tanaka-sensei was a man in his mid-thirties, a awkward looking man really. With a lean figure and a head that gleamed in the sunlight, Kyouta was never really comfortable with his homeroom teacher even after a few weeks of chatting with him.

The said man coughed uncomfortably, shifting the glasses on the bridge of his nose as he fumbled the documents in his hands.

"Kyouta-kun...I know I have been telling you this for awhile, but the parent-teacher conference has already been moved from last week to this week. Shouldn't it be enough for you to convince your parents to attend?" The skinny man questioned.

"Well, mama's busy so she can't come-ssu." The boy replied scratching the back of his head innocently as the man sighed.

"Kyouta-kun...I already have explained to you the importance of this meeting right?"

"Yes-ssu..."

"Did you tell your parents?"

The teal-headed boy nodded. Tanaka-sensei sighed once again.

"Fine, I'll let it go again but next time I won't let it go that easily, your parents are the only ones that I haven't met yet. I understand that you just have recently moved here and all and your family needs time to settle, but there is no excuse that we shouldn't be able to schedule a meeting at some point." The man said patting the boy's shoulder.

Kyouta could only nod.

"Good...now head on home Kyouta-kun, have a good afternoon." Tanaka-sensei said softly as he lead the boy out of the teachers' lounge.

When he was finally out of the teachers' lounge, Kyouta silently walked down the hallway, silently gazing at kids with their mothers and fathers that passed by.

I wish I had a family like that-ssu...

Kyouta was a boy that loved his family, his mom, grandparents, aunt, and uncle, he loved them all.

But as Kyouta grew up as a child, he never really had a father. From Father's Day to bring your son to work day, he never was able to participate in any of these events. He really wanted a father of course, but he didn't know where his dad truly was.

What was 'dad' like? Did he ever love me? Why did you leave me and mama? There were billions of questions he wanted to ask.

He asked aunty Satsuki about the whereabouts of his father were before, but he never gotten an legitimate answer. Aunty Satsuki had a disheartened look in her face, carefully pondering what she could say, finally replying with a "ask your mom." The answer was always the same, but he could never bring up the subject about his father to his mama.

Watching as the child was smiling innocently as she grabbed her father's hand, then her mother's as they then pulled her up and swung her in the air. The child's happy laughter cheerfully rang in his ear, the sound soon drifted off in the departure of the family.

A sad smile grew on his face.

Kyouta then sighed. Rustling his hair in agitation. His whole father-mother situation growing worse with the upcoming parent teacher conference. He lied to Tanaka-sensei when he asked if he told his parents, well the answer was no he didn't.

His mama was too busy with work, taking up two jobs and all, so adding onto the burden about some stupid parent meeting would only make his mama grow even more tired. His mama was already working herself to the bone, what kind of son would he be if he made her even more tired and stressed.

Soon arriving at the front gates of the school, his hands resting behind his head as he waited for aunty Satsuki to pick him up. But knowing his aunt, she probably had forgotten about the early dismissal that day, making it an hour of free time before she could really pick him up.

"Other than that meeting...at least the weather is nice-ssu..." Kyouta mumbled to himself. Staring at nothing in particular, as the peaceful silence started to grow on him. But the silence was suddenly interrupted when he heard someone calling him.

"Oi! Kuroko!"

"Kuroko!"

Kyouta turned, seeing a big kid standing over him, eyeing him like he was trash. The huge boy stood there fearlessly, followed by his skinny minion that imitated the huge boy. Failing in the intimidation factor.

Kyouta scoffed, then putting on a gentlemenly smile as he faced the two boys. His mother has always told him to never get into any meaningless fights, she hated it whenever he fought. Kyouta could remember the tears streaming down her face as she would apply first aid whenever her 'baby' had gotten in a little fistfight.

Remembering her tears, he vowed to never fight again, now handling these sort of situations more civilly instead.

"What do you want-ssu?" Kyouta said as he kept his smile in place.

"I heard your parents couldn't come...too bad." The huge boy sneered.

Kyouta's lips slightly twitched, he becoming more irritating with the duo. "So? How is that your business-ssu?" Kyouta calmly said, successfully keeping his gentlemenly facade in place.

The huge boy then grabbed him by his shirt collar and pulled him up.

"I don't like the way you look at me. You just strolling into school like you're some sort of hot shot transfer student, who do you think you are? Gaining all the attention from the girls here and because you got some game doesn't make you the king of this school Kuroko." The huge boy said.

Kyouta didn't budge from the boy's hold, a scowl starting to form on his face.

"Heh, I heard his mom got pregnant when she was like 15 or something, what a slut. She was probably so embarrassed that she didn't even bother to show!" The minion sneered.

"And maybe his dad got tired of his slutty mom, she was probably whoring around and he left the bitch!" The huge boy exclaimed, howling with laughter, as he wiped the tears that were forming in his eyes. Kyouta started to shake with anger, the huge boy smirked.

"What are you going to do? Call your mommy? I doubt she would come for a bastard child like you." The huge boy taunted as the minion started to egg him on. "Yeah! Must be hard being the son of a slu-" but before the boy could even finish his statement, Kyouta head butted and kicked him in his stomach.

Hard.

The huge boy let Kyouta go as he fell to the ground, clutching his stomach in pain.

Kyouta landed on the ground, about to throw another punch at the boy, until he felt a sharp pain inflicted on his cheek, suddenly falling to the ground and hitting the pavement.

The minion took him by surprise since he was so skinny, but the skinny minion sure knew how to throw a punch.

One side of Kyouta's lips was bleeding. He took a deep breath, wiping the blood off his lips. He carefully stood up, becoming extremely pissed off, he stomped towards the minion and punched him. The skinny minion fell unconscious.

Kyouta breathed deeply. Sorry mama...I couldn't keep our promise-ssu...

He grabbed his backpack that was tossed aside as he slung it over his shoulder. Turning to leave the scene of the crime, he felt something grabbing onto his ankle.

He looked down to see the huge boy holding onto his foot, heaving deeply as he sneered at Kyouta.

"Stupid brat." The huge kid breathed.

Kyouta gave him a look that was as hard as steel, kicking the boy's hand off as he looked at the boy angrily.

"Don't you ever speak of my mama that way...if I ever hear you saying those words about her again, I will seriously hurt you-ssu." Kyouta gave the huge boy a glare that was as cold as ice.

Turning to leave, he was stopped when he ran into a big man.

"Hey kid, what are you doing?" A fat man said as he pushed Kyouta back.

"Dad..." The huge boy whimpered in pain.

The fat man seeing his son in such a bad state, turned to Kyouta with fury. "Do you know what you just did kid?" The fat man grabbed Kyouta by his shirt, lifting him in the air, Kyouta struggling to break free from the man's strong hold.

"So brat...aren't ya gonna say sorry to my son ?" He said menacingly.

Kyouta struggled to break free. "Why should I? He deserved it-ssu." Kyouta glared at man with his sharp blue eyes.

"I don't like the way you look at me kid." The man said.

Kyouta smirked, rolling his eyes. Yup. Like father, like son-ssu.

The fat man formed his hand in a fist as he started to throw a punch towards his stomach.

Seeing his actions, Kyouta closed his eyes and waited for the impact to strike his stomach.

Help...someone come save me...

"Hey. What do you think you're doing to that kid?"

Kyouta's eyes opened after hearing the voice of the unfamiliar man and his savior. He saw a tall man, handsome he had to admit. With golden blonde hair and golden eyes, he was fitted in casual running wear.

The golden-haired man had a angry look in his piercingly golden eyes, grudgingly yanking the earphones out of his ears as he approached them.

"I'm going to ask you again...what are you doing to that kid?" He said angrily.

The fat man grew cautious, but he still held Kyouta in his arm's grip. "I'm disciplining this kid, what does it look like?"

"Is he your kid?"

"No. But his parents doesn't seem to know how to discipline their child, so I'm taking care of that for them."

"But that doesn't give you the right to hurt the kid." The golden-haired man was now standing in front of the big one. "And as far as I heard, your child was the one who started this all when he insulted this boy's mother, so who's the one that's really at fault? Your son or this boy?" The golden-haired man scoffed.

"Why you son of a-" The fat man threw Kyouta aside as he quickly threw a punch towards the golden-haired man.

"Watch out-ssu!" Kyouta hollared, trying to warn the man before he gets pummeled.

The golden-haired man dodged the man's punch easily, maneuvering quickly as he grabbed the man's arm and kneed him in the stomach.

The fat man moaned in pain as he fell to the ground, clutching his stomach as he cursed under his breath. The fat man then grabbed his son and ran off to who knows where.

Once the man had left, the golden-haired man fixed his attire and approached Kyouta who was just sitting there, watching the mysterious man that fought against the fat one. He held his hand out to the teal haired boy.

"Hey, are you okay?" The golden-haired man asked.

He was amazed. This mysterious man that became his savior, saved him. He never had anyone fight for him before and he had always imagined his dad doing something like this for him.

"Yeah-ssu..." Kyouta replied as he took his hand.

Kise helped Kyouta up as he finally gotten a good look of the boy he had just saved.

Kise has taken Aomine's advice and decided to take a run to cool his head. So after he showered and changed, he headed off to a nearby park. Running for a good hour or so, Kise saw a teal-headed boy surrounded by two boys. Kise couldn't help but feel slightly intrigued by him, the boy reminding him for some weird reason of a teal-haired beauty. Standing across the street from the pubic elementary school, Kise started to observe the boy.

Hearing the bigger boy say shit about the teal-headed boy's mother, to the boy beating the two down, Kise felt interested in the boy. Feeling proud that a boy his age could defend his mother properly while keeping his own pride in tact, made him want to cheer for him.

But to have an older man attempt to beat the boy down, infuriated him. Stomping over to the group as he beat the fat man and saved the boy.

Kise crouched down until they were at eye level, ruffling the boy's hair, Kise smiled. "You alright kid? Anything hurt?"

The boy's caribbean blue eyes watching Kise with awe. "Wow! You beat up that man in like ten seconds flat! You're really strong mister-ssu!"

Kise smiled, the boy's enthusiasm blinded him, reminding Kise on how he was once before.

The boy continued to stare at him, until he felt his lips bleeding. "Hey mister, do you know how to hide this-ssu?" Kyouta pointed at his bleeding lip. "I don't want my mama to find out I was in a fight, she'll freak when she sees this-ssu."

Kise chuckled at his question, reaching in his back pocket as he pulled out a band aid and handed it to Kyouta. "I think a band-aid would do the job."

They went on over to a bench and sat down together. Kyouta placed the band aid on his wound, looking up at Kise he smiled. "Thanks mister! You saved my butt there-ssu!"

Kise smiled, the boy's smile warming his heart. "What's your name kid? Where's your parents?"

"My name's Kyouta. My mama's at work and I don't have a father-ssu."

Kise sat there in silence, pondering if he should really pry in this kid's family situation. "Sorry, is he alive?"

Kyouta shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, she never really talks about him. Mama always gets really sad or mad whenever I mention him, so I don't really bother asking her anymore-ssu."

Kise ruffled Kyouta's hair reassuringly, feeling bad for Kyouta. "So you're probably mad at your dad too?"

"Yes and no-ssu."

"What do you mean by that?" Kise questioned, intrigued by Kyouta's answer.

"Well I'm mad at him for hurting my mama, I knew she loved him a lot. She would sometimes cry herself to sleep sometimes and she would always have nightmares, she thinks I never notices though. And no I'm not mad at him because I don't know the whole reason why he left in the first place. Mama never told me anything, so if he gave me a valid reason when he comes back, I guess I could forgive him-ssu." Kyouta stated.

Kise's eyes grew wide. It really amazed him on how a kid this young and innocent was able to answer a emotional question so maturely.

"Your mother raised you well Kyouta. You're a good kid."

Kyouta smiled. "Of course! My mama's amazing! She's so pretty and kind, she's the best mama any kid could ask for-ssu!"

"She seems like an amazing person."

Kyouta nodded. "She loves me the most after all-ssu."

Kyouta then spotted a distraught and confused pink-haired woman roaming the school grounds. Calling out his name as she frantically tried to search for him.

He got off the bench and turned to face Kise.

"But if I ever had a father, I hope that he's as cool as you mister...but what's your name mister? I can't keep calling you mister all the time."

Ruffling Kyouta's hair once again, he smiled warmly. "Kise...my name's Kise."

Kyouta nodded, waving at Kise while he just waved back.

"Bye Kise-san! See you later!"

He watched Kyouta run off and approach a woman, who he sworn looked just like his bubbly pink-haired friend from middle school, hug and scold Kyouta. Kise disregarded the thought, thinking that it was probably another pink-haired woman.

Kise continued to watch the duo until they were completely out of his sight. Kise stood up and looked at his wrist watch that read 6:00 p.m.

It's almost time for dinner.

Kyou was stirring a batch of curry in the kitchen of the huge unit of her ex-boyfriend and father of her child, Kise Ryouta.

"Almost done..." Kyou whispered to herself. She entered the unit a few hours ago and was extremely thankful that the owner himself was long gone from his flat. She quickly started her chores and cleaned the place from top to bottom, making the entire unit sparkle. She was currently making dinner for Kise, being one of her chores and all, Kyou wanted to quickly finish her job so that she could speak with her manager about reassigning her to a different client.

So for the past few hours she was feeling quite nervous and fidgety. Kyou never knew when Kise would arrive home, and the very thought of confronting him scared her.

If she were to confront him, right here and right now...what would she say? How should she act? Like hell she knew!

Kyou groaned in agony. "I can't have these sort of thoughts...I'm an idiot if I keep thinking about him."

"Thinking about who?"

Kyou gasped. Turning to the source of the sound, standing in front of her was Kise Ryouta.

Kise's face was flushed from his recent jog, making him look even more hotter than usual. But it didn't make it better when his clothing clung to his body from sweat, framing his well toned abs and arms, Kyou unknowingly stared at the man standing before her.

Noticing what she was doing, Kyou immediately turned red, lowered her head in embarrassment. "You're back Kise-san...I believe I should go..." She grabbed her bags and turned off the stove. Kyou turned to escape, but was held back when Kise grabbed her hand.

Kyou froze, cautiously staring at Kise as she tried to lose his hold. "What are you doing Kise-san? Let go of me."

Kise stared at the her pain-stricken face, trying to muster up whatever was left of his strength to speak. "I have to tell you this Kyou, whatever happened years ago I-"

"THERE'S NOTHING TO SAY!" Kyou yelled.

Silence fell between them.

He frowned. "Kyou..."

She clenched her fist, willing herself to be strong. She suddenly met his eyes, Kyou gave him a hostile glare. "Whatever we had years ago, means nothing now. What's done is done...I want you out of my life and I would like it if it stayed that way as well."

Kyou slipped her hand out of Kise's grasp. "I'm going to resign as your housekeeper. So this will be the last time we will ever see each other. Goodbye Kise-san."

She spun around her heel and started to head out of the unit. But her heart clenched when his fingers wrapped around her wrist and pulled her back.

Why won't he just let me just go? Why won't he just let me be sad and alone?

Kise's eyes were filled to the brim of sorrow and guilt. "I'm sorry..."

Her mind started to fog up and Kyou's eyes felt heavy with tears. She felt her lips quivering, trying to hold it back, Kyou tried to swallow her tears and not show any weakness, but her will was too weak. Kyou's eyes itch and burn from holding back her tears and her throat was tight; she could feel a tear starting to form. She wished that she could push her emotions down so deep that she could forget them, but she couldn't. Kyou began to cry, every emotion she felt in the past ten years seemed to have exploded.

"Sorry? You have got to be kidding me!"

Kise looked surprised, a pained expression appeared on his face. "You have to let me explain Kyou! Whatever I felt for Miki is gone, it has been gone since the time I have started to date you Kyou. I know I can't say this enough but I'm sorry...I know you can't forgive me, but would you give me the chance to make it up to you?"

A cry escapes from her throat. "How could you be so downright cruel!? Whatever guilt you are feeling and any feelings of remorse that makes you want to make it up to me...forget it! You had ten years...ten years to say those two measly words...and now you say it because I'm standing before you!? You did so many things that had made me cry, but this is the worst!" Kyou continued. "I can't believe I was such an idiot to have fallen for you, you never liked me at all didn't you!? I wish I have never dated you in the first place! I hate you so much!"

Kyou clenched her jaw. Wiping the tears that were streaming down her face.

"You idiotic bastard!"

Kyou turned as she dashed out of the unit doors, ignoring Kise's calls.

Trust was something hard to gain once it was lost.

Kise understood that. He would do whatever it takes for Kyou to trust him again...maybe even love him if he was lucky.

But hell...what Kyou said hurt.

Hope this chapter was any good. I tried my best! Thanks for the positive encouragement guys! I really appreciate it! Read, enjoy, and review minna-san! I need positive feedback to keep me going!
