I'm utterly, deeply, sincerely, have to apologize minna! ( Bows ) I haven't been updating as fast as I promised. I've been so busy with school because of my hellish Saturday APUSH sessions! ( I HAVE THREE ) My teacher is making it mandatory, so I am forced to go against my will from 8:00 AM-4:00PM. I'm gonna die cause it's my writing days and anime watching days! ( Tears ) I also had my ACT and practice AP exams, so April is a shitty month for me now! This must sound like an excuse but I hope you guys forgive me.
My dad just gave me his laptop, so I can finally write freely! I usually type this story in our family iPad or laptop, but my mom or dad usually takes it away before I can finish...so look forward to faster updates.
I also wanted to clarify some other things about my fanfic, if you would let me do so...
Okay, Kyou is one year younger than the GOM so she isn't Kuroko's twin or anything, she is just Kuroko's little sister.
Kyouta is eight years old and I can't really explain how he is eight when Kyou and Kise were separated for ten years when he just is. My numbers might be off, but I don't think it really matters unless you readers think so.
The title is "Ten Years Without a Father" and it sounds like it would be centered around Kyouta, but it's just not. The title was something that I came up with out of the blue, and I just don't really want to change it because it might cause some confusion if I just suddenly changed the title.
I hope that clarifies everything, so if you do have some questions or confusion, or you would just want to rave about it, please review or PM me! :D
I think that's everything I need to say...soo CHAPTER NINE...START-O!
Kyou stormed out of Kise's condo unit, full of rage and fury, her cheeks were flushed and her eyes sparked with ferocity. Yes, Kyou was as pissed as hell.
That dumb, air-headed, idiotic, fool!
Kise had some nerve to try to explain his situation to her. Babbling on and on about his mistake, did he expect her to give him another chance!?
If he had the common decency to at least call her years before, she might have been willing to listen. But no, years have passed and she had changed.
Her heart has closed off to anybody that had come even close to hurting her. Kyou knew better then to let herself get hurt from love all over again.
Kyou was scared, she was scared of the feelings that she pushed to the bottom heart. But a small part in her heart was wavering and she knew it. Memories of the happy moments they had shared and the sweet dreams of the future she had envisioned, flooded her thoughts from the mere sight of the man that she used to love.
But why did things have to be so complicated? This man had basically confessed his feelings for Miki, then changed it to say that he loved her then went right back to Miki. He had used her and abused her and then kicked her to the curb as if she meant nothing. And now he stood here and claimed that he missed her? What was she supposed to think?
It was all so confusing, but she couldn't deny the flutter of her aching heart when she saw him. Everything that she had ever felt for this man came rushing back to her. It's been ten years, ten long years since the last time she had seen him and she couldn't believe that she could still feel like this. Shouldn't these feelings have passed by now? She thought that coming here and facing him would make moving on a lot easier, but it seems to have done the opposite.
There was a small part of her that hoped that they could be together. But the years of hatred and hurt seems to have trumped those glimmering feelings of hope. Making Kyou even more lost and confused.
She suddenly was forced back. She turned in surprise as she saw Kise standing behind her, he had a serious expression on.
Her arm trembled in his hold, but she willed herself to be strong. She couldn't be that weak girl she was years ago. Slowly, she looked up to face him, meeting his eyes as she quietly observed him.
She was surprised when she found that his eyes were no longer warm and full of happiness. They were now hardened and steeled. Cold even. As if he had lost everything important to him. Only his eyes revealed the strife that he experienced over the years and the same look could be found in her eyes. Everything that she was feeling mirroring the man before her.
"Kyou, I never meant to hurt you."
Her eyes wided. He never meant to hurt me? The words rang through her head, but she couldn't believe them. How could he possibly mean that? She couldn't fathom the idea that he didn't know what he was doing, that he didn't know that she was going to get hurt.
"You never meant to hurt me? Ha, that's a good one." Her laughter caught Kise by surprise. Even she didn't understand why she was laughing. Maybe with all the pressure, she finally snapped. It wouldn't surprise her at all. "Then what was your intention?"
Kise lowered his eyes, no longer able to meet the deep blue ones of the girl in front of him. He didn't have any intentions that night. He didn't go there planning for that to happen but it didn't make it any less his fault. He knew that.
"Was I just some notch in your belt? Another girl to add to the list of many?" She scoffed as she roughly pulled her hands away. Just thinking about it ticked her off yet hurt far worse. She didn't understand herself at the moment. She never expected herself to be so mad at him.
"Of course not! I never thought of you like that! Besides, you were my first as well." His last words were low, almost too low for her to hear but she managed. She didn't realize that she was his first. The way he moved, touched and kissed made it seem the opposite. As if he knew well exactly what to do.
"So I was just someone to get your own experience from. Someone to test yourself out on before you moved onto the next. Before you went to Miki." She laced the girl's name with venom. She wasn't intending for it to come out like that. She couldn't help but blame Miki, she being a huge part of this ordeal.
"I would never use you like that!"
"Then what would you call what you did?" Kise opened his mouth as if to say something but no words came out. Nothing he could say would change what happened. He knew, but he still wanted her to know how he truly felt. And how he still feels. He knows that he doesn't deserve her or her forgiveness but he still wants her to understand what really happened.
"I know that it might seem unbelievable. You were hurt severely because of me. I could never make it up to you, I know that. I don't deserve your forgiveness, I really don't but I just ask that you listen to me. That's all I want."
She gave him a look full of disbelief. "Do you seriously think I would listen to you? You lied to me...how do you expect for me to trust you?"
"I don't...I just want you to listen."
"LISTEN!? How do you expect me to listen when you couldn't even listen to the fact that I was telling you about our s-" Kyou quickly covered her mouth. Thanking herself that she was able to stop herself from revealing the fact that they shared a son. She was thankful that he hasn't noticed.
She quickly changed the subject as crossed her arms across her chest. "As I said before, I am currently your housekeeper and you are the tenant of the unit I am cleaning. Because of our past relationship with each other, I feel that it is inappropriate for me to continue working for you, so I am going to remove myself from this position as your housekeeper. As of now, we are strangers. I don't need to listen to you or your excuses, just leave me alone Kise-san.
She turned as she quickly walked into the elevator, clicking the lobby button as she waited for the door to close. As the door was closing, Kyou had gotten one last look at Kise. She saw him standing still. His bangs were covering his face, hiding any form of emotion. But he soon looked up with determined golden eyes and a sad smile.
"Kyou, I still love you and I know that I could never make it up to you but I want to try. I don't care if we take this slow or if we just become friends. You may not love me anymore but I wont give up." Kyou's eyes widened once more at his vow.
"I love you so much and I vow to have you love me back once again!" The elevator door soon closed.
She was quiet. Listening to the soft elevator music as she then slowly slid to the floor. She wrapped her arms around her knees as she buried her face between her knees. Soon silently crying as her entire frame trembled.
Why did he have to be downright cruel? Confessing his love for her, wanting to get her back when her feelings were wavering. Why now? Why did he confess to her?
Kyou was now utterly confused. With Kyou finding out about Kise's love for her, what was she going to do? Take him back? Fall in love with him again? What the hell is she going to do? Her feelings now in shambles, she truly didn't really know if she still loved him back.

Kyou lifted her head as she turned to the sound of her cell phone. Sniffing slightly as she got her cell phone out of her purse, Kyou flipped open the phone to see that it was her manager Takase-san.
Kyou took a deep breath, trying to think positively before she would speak to her manager. She didn't want him to hear her in such an embarrassing state. She had to act professional wherever she was.
The day Kyouta was born, the day Kyouta first called me mama, the day he said my cooking was delicious, his first day of kindergarten...okay Kyou...calm down...take a deep breath...
She wiped the tears out of her eyes as she pressed the talk button and placed the phone by her ear.
Kyou smiled slightly before she spoke. "H-Hello?"
"Ah Kyou, is that you?"
Kyou's smile grew, her manager's enthusiasm cheering her up slightly. "Yes Takase-san...This is Kyou."
"Good! I would have been troubled if a stranger had answered the phone."
Kyou giggle. "Yes...that would have been very troubling Takase-san. But can I ask you why you are calling me?"
"Oh yes. Well earlier in the day, Mr. Kise Ryouta of one of the units I have assigned you, personally came by to thank you about the amazing job you have been doing and has offered you a great deal!"
Her breath hitched, her Caribbean eyes widened. "W-what!?" She spat out as her fingers started to tremble.
The man chuckled. "I see that you are excited Kyou! He has offered you an exclusive deal to be his personal housekeeper. The contract is complete and you will be reporting to him two days from now."
Silence.
"B-but Takase-san...is there any way for me to decline?" Kyou asked as politely as she could, hoping that Takase-san would change his mind about the arrangement.
"I'm sorry Kyou, but it is our policy to accept all jobs that our client has assigned us. Kise-san is a good man and he knows when somebody is doing their job well. This is a good deal and you would get a pay raise as well. Is there something wrong with the offer?"
Kyou paused, she really didn't want to go against her manager. But she just made a point to Kise about not going to continue being his housekeeper...but she also needed to save up money for the apartment and other necessities.
Should she just throw away her pride and work under Kise for an amazing paycheck with a huge raise? Or should she just walk off with her head held high while she kept her pride in tact?
Pride or money?
Money or pride?
Kyou pondered on this question for a good minute or so, considering all the possibilities and searching for some sort of loophole, until she finally made up her mind.
Well...pride isn't going to put food on the table...plus I have to pay off all of Kyouta's school fees soon...
Kyouta was the deciding factor of all of her worries. Her brain was wired to think of Kyouta as her number one priority, she caring about her son more than herself.
"...No Takase-san, I graciously accept this offer...thank you for the opportunity..." Kyou unwillingly stated.
"Good. Make sure you're doing your job properly to please the client, good bye Kyou."
Kyou sighed wearily, falling in a state of depression as her phone fell to the ground with a 'thud'. She slowly banged her head to her knees as Kyou started to curse profusely. "Why is my life so screwed up?!"
Kyou rushed out of the taxi cab. It was drizzling and she of course being the unlucky person she was, she had forgotten her umbrella. She ran towards the front door of Tetsu's house as she quickly opened the front gates and hurried inside.
Standing in the front porch, she took out her compact mirror and checked herself. She didn't want to come home with red, puffy eyes and a sniffle-y nose. Kyou didn't want to cause her family worry. Seeing that she looked somewhat acceptable, she slid her mirror back into her purse as she wrapped her fingers around the door knob and turned it.
She opened the door as she wiped her wet arms and hair with her handkerchief. Welcomed by the warmth of the household, she smile slightly as she slipped off her shoes and stepped into some slippers before proceeding into the living room.
Kyou arrived to see Satsuki watching a DVD on the television set from the kitchen counter.
"Kyou! Welcome home!" She exclaimed as she turned towards her best friend and gave her a sweet smile.
Kyou set her bag on the counter before she dragged herself towards the couch and sat down. Resting her head on the back of the soft couch as she let out a tired groan.
Soon Satsuki came into the living room holding two cups of coffee, she handed a cup to Kyou which the teal-haired beauty gladly accepted.
"Thanks." She mumbled, taking a tiny sip of the bitter mixture as Satsuki sat on the couch. They both started to watch the movie playing on the screen.
Prying her eyes off the screen, Kyou turned to look at Satsuki. "Where's Kyouta?" She questioned.
"Oh, I think that bundle of joy fell asleep."
"Already? It's only 8:00 PM...did you guys eat dinner yet?"
Satsuki giggled. "Well, the kid said he was really tired and yes, we ate. I was able to whip up something really simple to eat, how bout you Kyou? Hungry for some of my homemade spaghetti and meatballs?" She asked as she took a sip of her coffee.
"No. I'm just a bit tired that's all." Kyou said apologetically as she rested her head in the back of the seat once again.
Silence soon fell between them.
Occasionally glancing at her best friend, Satsuki set down her cup on the coffee table. "You know, you push yourself too much Kyou." Satsuki said as she gave her a look of concern.
"What do you mean?"
Satsuki fell silent, pondering on the right words to say before she started her explanation. "Well look at me..." Satsuki pointed at herself. "I might not be working right now...but when I was working as a trainer, I'm pretty sure I wasn't even working as hard as you. I'm carefree while you're all stressed! What are you? 30? 35?"
"28..." The teal haired beauty muttered irritably.
"See! You need to take a break Kyou! You're working two jobs. You're working so late at times that you can't even spend that much time with Kyouta."
"I-I'm there for Kyouta!" She defended. "But...it's just that my housekeeping job is making me so busy...being complicated and all."
"Busy? Kyou...when was the last time you had actually gone out with Kyouta? Had you ever taken him to an amusement park? Aquarium? Zoo? I know you love Kyouta with your entire heart, but his best friend is actually an basketball...he wants to spend time with his mom."
"O-okay, maybe I am overworking a little...but what are you trying to imply Satsuki?"
Satsuki faced the girl as she place both of her hands on Kyou's shoulder. "What I'm trying to imply is...that you should start dating!" Satsuki exclaimed as she shook the poor girl relentlessly.
"W-what?! Y-you're k-k-kidding me S-Satsuki!" Kyou said as Satsuki shook her.
She then suddenly stopped shaking her. "What do you mean? You're at the prime of your womanhood! You're not getting any younger." Satsuki said as she pouted.
"You're older than me! A-And besides...I've already had enough of that dating crap...I've already had my share of romance..." Kyou softly muttered.
"Don't say that!" Satsuki's eyes slowly filled with concern, she grasped her hands tightly. "I want you to be happy Kyou...you're my best friend. I don't want you to be all alone for the rest of your life. You're so beautiful and smart too, it's such a waste when a ton of guys would definitely swarm you in flocks."
Kyou tucked a strand of her teal locks behind her ear. "Yeah, right. Those guys are only looking for a one night stand. They'll take whatever you throw at them." She took another sip of coffee.
Satsuki sighed. "I don't mean a random hit em' and quit em, you're too old for that kind of stuff. I was thinking of something more permanent. I mean, don't you think it's about time you find a dad for Kyouta?"
She choked on her coffee upon hearing what the pink-haired woman had just said. She pounded on her chest as she started to cough repeatedly.
"I-I don't think so...we're doing pretty well without one..." She softly replied as she avoided Satsuki's gaze. Clenching the fabric of her skirt as she spoke those words, she soon remembered a certain blonde haired man's confession. Blushing slightly as she took another sip of coffee.
"Well it might be working for now but seriously think about it Kyou. We're here for you and Kyouta whenever you need us, but we can't all act as a dad towards the kid right? I mean, you can't just rely on us when you can't be there. You need someone that will always be there, not only in convenient times but to be absolutely be there for both you and Kyouta. Kyou, I don't see you hanging out with any guys other than Kasamatsu..."
Satsuki paused. "I'm not saying that he wouldn't be capable of being a good dad but-"
"So you're saying I need to date to try to find someone for me to marry and be the father to my son? Because I'm incapable of being a good parent because I rely on my friends and family too much?"
Satsuki had a shocked look on her face. "What?! I never said that, all I was trying to say was-"
Kyou put her hand up, quickly silencing Satsuki. "It's okay, I get it. No matter what I do, I'm still that irresponsible little girl from the past who got pregnant when she was nineteen and was left by the man who broke her heart. I get it. I obviously can't become a father figure to Kyouta and I know I am lacking in many aspects as a mother...barely having time with Kyouta...I get it." Kyou stated as her eyes glued onto the television screen, the end credits soon started to scroll down the screen.
There was a short silence in the room.
"Hey...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say-" Satsuki started with apologetic eyes.
"No, I don't mind. I know you were saying those things because you were concerned for both me and Kyouta. I'm not mad, it's just that...I'm tired." Kyou replied smiling. But Satsuki knowing the way Kyou was, she wasn't very convinced.
"Whatever you say...I'm going to go to bed." Satsuki said as she stood up and headed towards the stairs.
"Night, oh and thanks again for picking up Kyouta and for the coffee!" She yelled and she heard an "Anytime" coming from the woman who was heading up the stairs.
Kyou grabbed the remote control and shut off the TV. She took the cups to the kitchen and washed them.
After she had completed the small chore, Kyou went over to the counter and grabbed her bag. Heading back to the couch as she slowly sat took out a stack of quiz papers. Popping her red pen cap open, Kyou started to grade some papers.
So much for not working to hard... Kyou thought as she wrote a 47 on the quiz paper.
Meanwhile, Kyouta could not sleep. His thoughts were too occupied by the events that had happened earlier that day. He was rolling in his bed as he tried to bury those annoying thoughts away.
"I heard your parents couldn't come...too bad."
Mama was just busy.
"Heh, I heard his mom got pregnant when she was like 15 or something, what a slut. She was probably so embarrassed that she didn't even bother to show!"
She isn't embarrassed of me...
"And maybe his dad got tired of his slutty mom, she was probably whoring around and he left the bitch!"
STOP IT!
Kyouta sat up and groaned.
"What are you going to do? Call your mommy? I doubt she would come for a bastard child like you."
He got out of bed and went out of the bedroom. Peering into the darkness of the house, he could only make out a small light that was shining downstairs. He tip-toed carefully down the staircase, slyly peering his head around the corner as he could make out the figure of his most favorite person.
His mother was sitting crossed legged on the couch, a red pen cap sticking out of her mouth as she silently graded papers. Her long blue locks were kept into a messy bun as stray strands of hair framed her face, she occasionally tucking the stray locks behind her ears. Her favorite pair of red reading glasses were perched on top of the bridge of her nose, occasionally slipping as she pushed them up gracefully.
She was completely concentrated as she graded the papers. Noticing something from the corner of her eye, Kyou looked up as she saw Kyouta enter the room.
"Oh, you're awake honey? I thought you were tired?" Kyou asked as she took off her glasses. Rubbing the bridge her nose tiredly as she then gave her son a soft smile. "Is there something wrong?"
Kyouta shook his head. "No-ssu..." He walked towards Kyou and sat on the couch. "But mama-ssu-" The teal haired boy paused to look at his mother. "Are you working at home again-ssu?"
Kyou quickly slid the quizzes to the side, failing at her attempt to hide them. "Umm...no?" She sheepishly grinned.
Kyouta sighed as a small pout started to form on his cheek. "You can't fool me. I have eyes you know-ssu."
"Fine you caught me." Kyou said as she raised her hands in defeat. She then noticed a band-aid on her son's face. Her eyes furrowed as she then reached towards the band-aid and touched it. "What's this?"
"It's nothing-ssu!" Kyou frantically said as he quickly turned his head.
"Oh really? And you just decided to wear and band-aid on your face?" Kyou asked sarcastically as she pulled Kyouta to her and pulled of his band-aid.
"OUCH-SSU!" Kyouta yelped.
Kyou gasped upon seeing the bruise and cut on her son's lip. "What happened to you?" Kyou asked with concerned and furrowed eyebrows. "Did you get in another fight?"
"No!" Kyouta said quickly. "I-I just fell down the stairs?"
She stared at her son in disbelief. "Oh? Did you win at least?" Kyou asked as her brow raised with curiosity.
"Of course..." Kyouta said as he crossed his arms across his chest with pride, upon noticing what he said Kyouta immediately added "not!...-ssu."
Kyou crossed her arms. "I knew it, you got in a fight. Do you really think I would fall for the 'I fell down the stairs' excuse? Last time I remember you said that you ran into the door."
"I did mama! How could you not believe me-ssu?" Kyouta said as his pout grew even bigger.
Kyou sighed as she then reattached the band-aid to her son's face. "Anyways, it was pretty obvious that you got into another fight Kyouta. But who did you fight?"
"It wasn't anybody serious or anything...don't worry about it-ssu." Kyouta said as he thought back of the fight. "I heard your parents couldn't come...too bad."
"You know why I don't like you getting into fights right?"
Kyouta answered half-heartedly. "Because you don't want me to get hurt...I know-ssu."
Kyou smiled softly as she then patted her son's head. "That's right. I wished that you'd learn to not get into fights anymore...but I'm curious, what was the fight even about?"
Kyouta burying his face in his mother's tummy as he then hugged her. "N-nothing-ssu..."
"Oh?" Kyou questioned as she then hugged him. "But other than the fight, how was school? You are keeping up with your studies right?"
Kyouta's eyes sparkled as a huge grin appeared on his cute face. "Never mind my grades mama! I met this cool man! He was tall and strong and had golden hair..and was-"
"Woah, slow down Kyouta!" Kyou said as she tried to calm her overexcited son. "Who is this man? He isn't some sort of stranger is he? You know what I say about talking to strangers right?"
"Mama...I know about the stranger-danger rule, but this man helped me, so he is an exception in my book-ssu!" Kyouta said as he tried to defend himself.
"Help you with what?"
Kyouta froze at the question. "Umm...he helped me with...FINDING AUNTIE SATSUKI! Yeah...he helped me find auntie Satsuki-ssu..."
"So who is this man? I know he must not just be a stranger. I should thank him the next time, for helping my troublesome son after all."
Kyouta nodded. "He was really cool! You should have seen him mama! Ah...when I grow up, I want to be a man just like him-ssu!"
Kyou giggled as he held Kyouta even tighter. "My little Kyouta is already soo cool~ why would my little boy want to be even more amazing?"
Kyouta blushed. "Mama~ Stop complimenting me so much! It's embarrassing when mama does that-ssu!"
Kyou pouted. "Mou! I can't openly express my love for my super cool, handsome and amazing son? That's not fair to your mama you know."
"B-But it's embarrassing-ssu!"
"Is it that embarrassing for you Kyouta? Me, your mother?! Oh, the horror!" Kyou exclaimed dramatically, fake tears rolling down her eyes as she sniffled.
He looked up at his mother, Caribbean blue eyes met with hers. "It's not like you're embarrassing..." Kyouta dropped his gaze. "I-I love mama the most after all...you're the best mother in the world..."
Surprised at his sudden confession, she softly smiled as she wiped her fake tears away. Running her hands in his silky teal hair, she patted Kyouta softly. "Aren't you a sweetheart...I'm lucky to have a son as amazing as you..."
His heart felt warm and his eyes slightly stung as all his doubts about his mother and father seems to have disappeared in thin air. He always had the thought that maybe he was some sort of mistake...a fatal mishap...someone that his mother just kept around because she had to. Looking up at her, he couldn't help but feel dumb for even thinking that way. This person sitting before him was someone who truly loved him, someone who truly cared for his heath and well being. To sum it all up, his amazing mother.
"C-Can I sleep here? Because you know...mama might get a nightmare or something and I don't want mama to be by herself when that happens..." Kyouta mumbled as he fumbled with his fingers.
Kyou quickly kissed his forehead. "Why don't we go upstairs then, I don't think the couch is a very comfortable place to sleep."
Kyouta nodded as he then pulled his mother off the couch and up the stairs. They headed into the bedroom as Kyou closed the blinds and turned on the nightlight.
Kyouta quickly situated himself in the covers and closed his eyes.
Kyou got into bed, pulling the covers over her as he body was soon filled with warm. She turned to face Kyouta.
"Good night Kyouta." She kissed his forehead gently. "I love you."
Kyouta opened his eyes as a huge grin grew on his lips. "I love you too mama-ssu..."
Kyou held Kyouta in her arms as she hugged him tight, both soon falling into a peaceful dream.
A few hours later, Kise found himself sitting in the bar lounge of Minami-Azabu Towers. Drinking a scotch on the rocks, as he stared at the duo sitting besides from him. He watched Aomine blatantly flirt at any women that were passing by as Midorima pushed up his glasses in annoyance.
"Why did you call me Kise? I'm too busy to deal with your nonsense." Midorima said irritably as he took a sip of his gin and tonic, he had just gotten off his shift at the hospital and the last thing he wanted to do was get drunk with his idiotic friends.
Kise pouted. "Is it a crime for me to hang out with friends? You're so mean Midorimacchi!"
Midorima scoffed. "Shut up Kise..." Midorima then turned to face him. "So? Why did you call me? I know it isn't because you just wanted to get a friendly drink."
Aomine stopped flirting with a busty woman who happens to be passing by as he turned to look at Kise. "Is it the same reason you were coming into practice with a hangover? "Was it a women?"
Kise frowned as depressing aura started to surround the golden-haired man. Grabbing his scotch on the rocks as he drank the liquid in one gulp, he slammed the glass on the counter. His face grew flush from the sudden intake of alcohol, he slumped on the chair as he buried his face in his arms. "She didn't believe me..."
Midorima and Aomine exchanged each other looks of confusion. "Um...who?" Aomine questioned.
He looked up slightly. "Kyou..."
"KYOU!?" Aomine and Midorima yelled in unison. Nobody in the Generation of Miracles had seen the teal-haired kouhai in years. Suddenly hearing that she had returned took them back in surprise. Everyone had some sort of connection with the girl, she playing an important role in all of their lives.
Kise nodded. "Yeah...I met her two days ago..."
They both sighed. Who knew Kise would forget to mention something as important as a certain teal-haired beauty's return.
"So..." Midorima started. "What happened?"
"She didn't believe me." Kise repeated for what he felt like was the trillionth time in the past couple of hours. "I tried to make up with her by apologizing, but she just threw my apology back into my face and strutted off."
Aomine popped open his bottle of beer, taking a sip before he opened his mouth to input his own opinion in the conversation. "That's what you get Kise for being a player. What'd you expect for Kyou to do? Forgive you? You should know by now that women aren't that easy, especially a woman like Kyou." Aomine told Kise. "You basically screwed her over for another woman. I wouldn't expect for her to suddenly feel 'okay' bout a subject as touchy as that."
"Aomine has a point for once." Midorima said as he ordered another gin and tonic.
"Oi! What the hell is that suppose to mean?!"
Midorima ignored the ganguro as he continued on. "You had dozens of girlfriends throughout middle school and high school and girls seems to have flocked you wherever you went. But Kyou knew that dating you would mean her being the center of hatred from your fan girls 24/7. Do you know why she was able accept something as unreasonable as that?"
Kise looked up. "No...why?"
Midorima pushed up his glasses. "Because she trusted you. She never said it out loud, but she had complete faith that you weren't going to fall for any girl that threw herself at you. Can you believe that?" He said in a knowingly tone.
Aomine nodded. "I mean, Kyou really loved you, Kise. After all the humiliation and rejection she faced when you cheated on her, I could understand why she wouldn't even want to see you. You basically did one of the worst things a guy could do to a girl when you were in a serious relationship, well...other than getting her pregnant...but at least you didn't do that." Aomine then turned and called for the bartender to get him another beer.
Kise groaned. "I know...I messed up big time. But can't you offer me some sort of advice or something instead of putting me down for something I did in the past? It was all a big, drunken mistake..."
Aomine scoffed. "This isn't some damn chick flick dumb ass, we aren't here to comfort you. We're just here to give you the cold, hard truth. Kyou loved you but you screwed up, now you want her back right?"
Kise nodded. "I just...I want us to be okay. I still love her and I'd be lucky if she takes me back, but for now, I just want us to be friends again.
"You really miss her that much huh..." Midorima said softly.
Kise smiled. "Yeah...you might not know this Midorimacchi, Aominecchi, but being with Kyou made me feel like I was the happiest man alive. Anybody is lucky to have her."
"But what if she has a boyfriend?"
Kise quickly rose from his depressing state. Turning to look at the man who dared to utter the horrid question. "W-What?!"
Aomine propped his arm on the counter as his hand rested on his cheek. "I said..." Aomine then had an irritated look on his face. "What if, I'm only saying what if...Kyou has a boyfriend? It's been ten years already and you don't seriously think that she hasn't moved on?"
Kise frowned. "Never mention that ever again Aominecchi! I don't want to think about it.." Kise cried as he rustled his hair in agitation.
Aomine sighed. "I'm just being honest, but Kyou is one fine piece of ass if you haven't noticed. Every guy in middle school was practically in love with her. I wouldn't be surprised if she was married or if she had a kid or two."
"Kids!? Damn it Aominecchi! You're making me even more frustrated! I don't know what I'm going to do if she was married!"
Midorima sighed, he ran his bandaged hand through his dark green locks, frustrated that the conversation was going absolutely nowhere. "Look Kise, we all know that you love Kyou and you want her to forgive you, but think this logically and clearly. Ask yourself the question of what you are going to do to convince Kyou that you are worth forgiving. You have to seriously think."
Silence grew between the trio as Kise seriously thought of what he could do. Midorima and Aomine were right. If he was going to figure out some way for the two to make up, he couldn't do this recklessly. He is walking on very fragile glass at this moment. After two horrible encounters between the beauty, the tension between the two had grown even worse, he couldn't afford for her to just disappear again.
"I guess I could try to have a normal conversation with Kyou first...every conversation we have always end up with angst and drama."
"That's a good start I guess, but how are you going to talk to Kyou without her killing you first?" Aomine questioned.
Kise sighed as his head rested on the counter. "That's what I'm trying to figure out Aominecchi..." He then called the bartender to get him another scotch on the rocks, suddenly feeling the need to intake alcohol.
