Twenty-Four: Accident

23 Years A.S.W.U. I (After Steve Went Under Ice)

Old Man Winter moved toward his Granddaughter's bedroom. It was something he understood but it had been too long for her to be locked in the Winter Forest. he knocked on her door.

"Who is it?"

"It's me." Old Man said.

"Come in."

He went side and saw Jakeline looking out her balcony window.

"Jakeline."

"Grandpapa." Jakeline said with a soft smile.

"I was wondering something."

"What is it?"

"Well it had been a long time since you've gone out." Old Man Winter told her.

"Yes." Jakeline told him.

"Why don't you go out."

"I don't feel like it."

"Jakeline, it's been twenty-three years, I don't think your soldier would want this for you." He told her.

"I just…."

"No, Jakeline." He said looking at her. "I know exactly how you feel, remember Jakeline your grandmother was murdered losing the person you love I understand more than anyone."

"Grandpa…I don't know how to begin." She told him.

"Well I do, there's some light sprinkling to be done around the world one last kick before Easter."

"Are you sure, I barely do these."

"I am completely confident you will do just fine." Old Man Winter told her.

"Alright." She told him.

"I trust you." Old Man Winter said and left her bedroom. Jakeline touched her necklace were Steve's dog-tags and her engagement ring she had taken it off just last year and hung around her neck.

She moved and opened her window completely letting the wind inside, who pushed her away and moved around her. Jakeline knew the Wind was not exactly happy with her.

"Hello Wind." She said, the Wind wrapped around her and moved her around a bit much harder not really.

Jakeline was ready to go, she dressed in her outfit, it was changed from before, she just attached a hood on her head.

"Alright." Jakeline said to no one, she raised her hand and her staff comes to her.

She runs toward the balcony of her room and jumps off and the Wind catches her. the Wind is not to kind moving her around her the same way as when she was a small child.

"I know that you are angry." She said to the Wind. The Wind let her go for a minute and then the Wind grabbed her.

"Oh my….really Wind." She said. she moved her staff and the clouds got dark and snow began to fall a bit harder, she was surprised that it happened, since it had only happened when she was young.

Jakeline had moved around the world for the first time in a while and she was shocked. she, couldn't control her snow abilities.

"Why?" she said before moving around and going to other places.

Bunnymund was beginning his rounds for Easter and he was seeing the snow.

'What is going on?' he asked. He knew that Old Man Winter was making slight sprinkling of snow, this was different. He was going to speak with those Winter Sprites. He made the move and he was angry.

"Damn it!" Jakeline snapped, she wasn't meaning too but she was making some snowstorms which surprised her.

"What is ya problem!" the scream took her by surprise and she turned to look at a Bunny. She recognized him by the descriptions by her Grandfather.

"Excuse me?" she asked. Bunnymund looked at the young woman standing there and she was beautiful, but she still annoyed him, because she was destroying his Holiday.

"I said wat ya are thinking, it is my holiday and your snow is destroying my eggs."

"Sorry." Jakeline told him feeling terrible about it.

"No, look around you the kids won't find my eggs, you just ruined my holiday." Bunny told her and began to give her a lecture.

"Look I understand, it was a mistake."

"Which I will suffer for it." Bunny told her and the Wind picked her up and took her away before things could happen. But it would be the beginning of a long rivalry.
