What's popping, people? We've got an intense chapter here, and there's going to be a huge battle (with a smaller battle or two on the side) going on between our heroes and the leaders of Team Grim in the middle of Lumiose City, so let's get going! Just a quick note, the result of the double battle at the beginning will be explained later. Also, this will be the end of the Lumiose Arc, because the two upcoming chapters were morphed into this chapter, so the Laverre Arc will be up next!

Guardianboy: Nice guesses. I never thought of Ariel as being similar to Burt, but I can really see that now
SomeGuy (guest): Yeah, contests don't really have the same feel as battles, so they're not usually as exciting. As for the issue with everyone siding with Team Grim, I intentionally had a few people immediately believe them because there are people like that in the world we live in today, and I wanted to make that as realistic as possible. The other 99%, though, didn't believe them and will play it off like nothing for a little bit. Once they realize that Frank is crazy and some other stuff goes down that paints Owen in a bad light, the large majority will believe he's a threat. And this isn't the big battle of the story, that'll happen at the end of the Grim arc. This is more of a teaser for it
MCMXCV: Thanks, and I think it's fitting that Brooklyn beat Olivia for her first ribbon of Kalos, and they'll definitely have some trouble with Grim Reversion 2, though not as much as you'd think
The 6th Spectral King: That would be an epic plot twist, but that (sadly) isn't going to happen. He will be meeting his mom near the end of the next arc, though, and he'll end up telling everyone why he came to Kalos
guest: Haha, I just went with the first thing that came to my mind, and after I saw Owen's last name I figured I met as well go with something similar. And I probably should've made this more clear, but only five to six people were willing to side with Team Grim initially, which would most likely happen in the world we live in. More people will start to side with them soon, however
FlameStriker123: Yeah, the contest was a bit rushed, which I will work on in the future, but I only did that because I was so excited to write the rest of this arc, and I don't think people really read this story for the contests. It's a lame excuse, I know, but I call it as I see it (please don't think I'm trying to come off as obnoxious or anything. There just wasn't any other way I could word the ending of the response)

"Thanks, Professor Juniper," Brooklyn said to the woman before ending the video chat and bolting out of the Pokemon Center. The fifteen year old clipped two Pokeballs onto her belt and ran towards an alleyway where Owen, Daniel, Eddy, and Cindy were waiting. The four waiting trainers looked over at Brooklyn and she flashed the two Pokeballs she received from Professor Juniper, and they began to walk without saying a word.
As they ran through the alley, Owen glanced back before suddenly stopping when he reached the very end of the alley, causing everyone to run into him and fall over.
"What the hell are you doing?" Cindy shouted at Owen, who slowly got up and brushed the dirt off his clothes.
"Look. There's a bunch of people from Team Grim walking around there. We have to go by Prism Tower," Owen responded, drawing confused looks from everyone.
"How does that make any sense? If we go by Prism Tower they can see you at any angle," Eddy shot back as he started to walk towards the street. He was stopped, however, by Owen grabbing the collar of his shirt and yanking him back into the alley.
"All four of you can go that way, but stay together," Owen ordered while looking at his traveling companions.
"No way, we're not splitting up," Daniel replied, but he was stopped by Owen sticking his arm out to stop him. Daniel looked back at Owen and could tell the younger teen wasn't going to back down from his stance, making him sigh before speaking up. "Fine. We'll meet at the gate leading to Laverre City," Daniel stated while looking at Brooklyn, Eddy, and Cindy.
"Owen," Brooklyn started as she looked at her boyfriend, who gave her a reassuring smile despite being terrified of what could possibly happen. "Be safe." The two hugged before Brooklyn walked away with the others, and she waved to Owen before disappearing from his sight.
"Alright, how exactly am I going to do this?" Owen asked himself as he walked to the other end of the alley. "I can probably walk around there casually, but that's kind of risky. Ah screw it," he whispered while looking at the area around the base of Prism Tower. There were only a few citizens walking around without a Team Grim member in sight, but their carrier ship was there. Despite this, Owen went against his gut and began walking through the open area. He had to cut straight across if he wanted to get to the gate that led to Laverre City, and his heart was nearly beating out of his chest.
"Am I walking weird? What if someone reports me?" Owen thought as he walked past Prism Tower. The alley he had to walk through was only a few feet away, and he was only a few steps away before being stopped.
"Hey, you." The teen froze and waited a few seconds to see if the voice was talking to him, which was answered in seconds. "Owen." The teen turned slowly and stared at the voice, only to see a Blaziken staring at him. "It's good to see you."
"Uh... yeah," the teen replied. He didn't remember meeting a Blaziken, let alone one that could talk.
"What's the matter? You don't remember us?" a second voice asked. Owen turned to see a girl with brown hair and amber eyes walking towards him, who he remembered immediately.
"Wait, you're... Ariel?" Owen asked, and the girl nodded. "What are you two doing? Frank said that you were enemies of Kalos, too." Ariel and Blaziken looked at each other before laughing at the question as if it were a joke.
"We're not worried about these goons," Ariel fibbed while Blaziken looked around for any members of Team Grim. Owen glanced over at Blaziken and laughed to himself, knowing that Ariel was lying to him. The girl could tell why Owen was laughing, making her angry. "We'll prove it, right Blaziken?"
"I'm sorry, what?" Blaziken asked in disbelief.
"Use Flamethrower on the carrier," Ariel ordered while staring at Owen, who was still smirking at her act. Blaziken looked over at the airplane and then back at his trainer, who simply pointed her arm backwards, refusing to break her staredown with Owen. The fire type sighed, and his obedience overcame his will to stay undercover. Rearing back, Blaziken unleashed a blast of intense flames that struck the plane and melted one of the engines on impact. "See?"
"Uhm, Ariel?" Blaziken asked while tapping his trainer on the shoulder.
"What?" the girl shot back as she turned around. Her eyes went wide open as several members of Team Grim flooded out of Prism Tower and looked over at her and Owen before running inside. "What are those idiots doing?" Ariel asked Owen and Blaziken, expecting them to somehow know the answer to her question. The two shrugged, however, and the girl rolled her eyes.
"Gyarados, use Hydro Pump!" Ariel, Owen, and Blaziken turned to see a gigantic sea serpent flying towards them, and it unleashed a blast of high-pressure water. Blaziken gracefully dodged with a backflip, and he glared at the Gyarados flying around Prism Tower. Once it landed, a man, the one from Shalour City, hopped off and laughed. "Wow, I didn't expect to find both of you so soon, especially right outside Prism Tower," he said while cackling.
"You think I was hiding?" Ariel countered as Blaziken stepped in front of her while shooting fire out of his wrists. "Blaziken, use Thunder Punch!" Blaziken darted towards Gyarados while his right fist was covered in electricity, and he jumped into the air while spinning to add more power to his attack.
"Machamp, use Brick Break!" Suddenly, a Machamp leaped towards Blaziken and its glowing white fist collided with Blaziken's Thunder Punch. The result of the collision was an explosion, and a large cloud of smoke filled the air. Once it cleared, Owen's eyes focused on the woman standing behind the Machamp that had just joined the fight, and he recognized her from his time in Cyllage City.
"Are you just going to sit there and watch us, or are you going to help?" Ariel shouted back to Owen, who quickly took a Pokeball off his belt and threw it in the air.
"Charizard, I need your help!" Charizard exploded from his Pokeball as fire shot everywhere, and he landed on the ground next to Blaziken, and in front of Ariel. The fire and flying type looked at the two he remembered from Shalour, and he nodded at Blaziken before cracking his knuckles.
"Oooh, it looks like we're going to have our hands full, Spike," Viviana said to the man standing next to her. "I've been looking forward to our rematch," Viviana said to Owen and Charizard, who remained silent.
"Charizard, use Flamethrower on Machamp!" Charizard took to the air with a mighty flap of his wings and he reared back before unleashing a blast of fire at the four armed fighting type.
"Dodge it and use Dynamic Punch, Machamp!" The fighting type sprung into the air while his four fists began to glow crimson.
"Use a spinning Blaze Kick like a drill!" Ariel countered while pointing at Machamp. Despite not being able to see his trainer, Blaziken could sense where Ariel was pointing, and he jumped towards Machamp. While both of his feet caught fire, Blaziken began to spin like a drill and he launched the fighting type into the ground. Viviana stared at Blaziken and Charizard before looking down at her Machamp, who was gripping his stomach in pain from the powerful Blaze Kick.
"These kids are a lot tougher than I remember," Spike said to Viviana after seeing the condition of the girl's Machamp. "But they don't stand a chance. Gyarados, use Hydro Pump on Blaziken!"
"Charizard, block it with Blast Burn!" Owen countered. Charizard began to glow bright red before he released a horizontal tornado of fire, which collided with the blast of water Gyarados released from his mouth, and an explosion occurred. The force of the explosion sent everyone rolling backwards, and the cloud of smoke covered the entire circle around Prism Tower.
"Do you think it's time?" Spike asked Viviana as the smoke began to clear. He slowly tapped the stone planted in his bracelet, and the woman nodded while doing the same thing.
"Grim Reversion, awaken!" Owen and Ariel watched as both Gyarados and Machamp were shrouded in black energy, and their bodies began to shape. Two large, bat-like wings made of water shot out of Gyarados' sides and large blue spikes shot out of his back and head. The small teeth in Gyarados' mouth suddenly extended and grew sharper.
Machamp's skin suddenly turned black while he grew two more arms that started at his ribs. There was also a large belt that appeared along his waist, and a large, yellow circle with a Pokeball pictured on it, and there were also eight black bracelets around his six wrists and ankles.
"Owen," Ariel started while turning to the teen, "we're going to need some help."

"Where is Owen? He was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago!" Brooklyn shouted while looking around at the citizens passing by, looking at the Team Grim members in fear.
"I don't know, but we have to go back and look for him," Eddy stated.
"Hold on there. You and Cindy are staying here. We'll go look for Owen because we have Pokemon," Daniel told the eight year old, who crossed his arms angrily. "And Litleo isn't strong enough to go up against these guys," Daniel told Cindy before she could say anything. The twelve year old mimicked Eddy, but she and the younger boy obeyed Daniel and watched as he and Brooklyn began walking around the city.
"Where could he be? This city's so big, I doubt we'll fi-"
BOOOOM!
Brooklyn and Daniel exchanged glances before shaking their heads and running towards Prism Tower and the smoke.

"Damn, we just missed, Machamp," Viviana said to the fighting type, who had just punched a whole through the ground. The six armed Pokemon looked up in the air and saw Charizard holding onto Blaziken's arms while flying away from Gyarados, who was gaining on them.
"Charizard, throw Blaziken at Gyarados!" Owen shouted after discussing a plan with Ariel. The winged lizard looked down at the chicken he was holding before swinging him around the air and throwing Blaziken at the terrifying Gyarados.
"Now use Thunder Punch, Blaziken!" Ariel commanded as Gyarados closed in on Blaziken. The fire type's fists were covered in electricity and he swung at Gyarados, but the large Pokemon blocked the super effective attack with his wings of water, leaving Blaziken defenseless.
"Use Hydro Pump, Gyarados!" Spike commanded. Gyarados stopped flying towards Blaziken and he opened his mouth. A tidal wave compressed into a stream shot out of Gyarados' mouth and Blaziken was launched onto a roof over a hundred feet behind Owen and Ariel. The Hoenn starter fell through the roof due to the falling speed, and Ariel stared in shock before running after her Pokemon.
"Charizard, use Flamethrower at full power!" Owen commanded while pointing at Machamp. Charizard reared his head back and shot a blast of fire at Machamp, who was engulfed in fire, which made him cry out in pain the fighting type changed back to his normal appearance and Viviana dropped to one knee while gripping her chest, which was now aching. Owen smirked while Charizard flew through the air nonchalantly, and he somehow stopped focusing on the winged serpent flying through the air.
"Aqua Tail, Gyarados!" Owen and Charizard's necks snapped towards Gyarados and the water type attempted to spike Charizard into the ground. He was stopped, however, when a speeding bullet of fire flew through the air and tackled Gyarados into the ground. Owen and Charizard stared in shock as Blaziken, who was Mega Evolved, delivered a vicious Thunder Punch that sent a bolt of lightning into the air. After the attack, Gyarados reverted back to its normal form, and Spike dropped to the ground in pain.
"Nice work, Blaziken," Ariel told the fire type as he walked back over to her and Owen. Charizard soon landed on the ground next to his fellow fire type, and the two fist bumped after looking at their defeated opponents.
"Owen!" Owen and Ariel turned their attention to Brooklyn and Daniel, both of whom were running at full speed, and they stopped when they reached their traveling companion. The teen was suddenly hugged by Brooklyn, who pulled away and glanced at Ariel in confusion.
"Oh, this is Ariel. She helped me take these two out," Owen informed Brooklyn and Daniel, who waved at Ariel. The fifteen year old didn't return the gesture, rubbing Brooklyn the wrong way while Daniel didn't seem to care.
"We need to get going. All of the grunts around the outer ring were flocking towards here," Daniel informed Owen and Ariel, who nodded and they began to walk away. Before they could get away, a blast of green energy exploded just in front of the group, and they turned to see a speeding Pokemon zip through the air. In the blink of an eye, the Pokemon slammed into Blaziken and took the fighting type into the air.
"Blaziken!"
"Charizard, go help Blaziken!"
"Dragonair, let's help out, too!" Daniel shouted as he tossed a Pokeball in the air. Dragonair flew out of the Pokeball and he chased after the unidentifiable Pokemon along with Charizard. The Pokemon carrying Blaziken turned around sharply and sped right towards Charizard, and it dropped Blaziken. Dragonair performed a nosedive to catch the fire starter while Charizard and his foe collided. The winged lizard was quickly overpowered, and he was slammed into the ground at light speed.
"Charizard!" Owen shouted as he ran towards his starter. He was stopped, however, when he recognized the attacker, and he froze in fear.
The Pokemon standing over Charizard had bright, powder blue wings and its underbelly was the same color. In place of its ears were white swooshes similar to Dragonair's, and a blue orb was at the end of its orange tail. A spinning black aura covered the Pokemon, and its eyes were pure white.
"What is that?" Brooklyn asked in horror as the Pokemon let out an ear piercing roar, and it slammed its foot down on the back of Charizard's neck, pinning the fire type. While the Pokemon continued staring at the trainers, Dragonair managed to catch Blaziken, and the two landed in front of Ariel and Daniel.
"Samurott, I choose you!" Brooklyn yelled while sticking her Pokeball out. Owen watched as the familiar water type materialized from the light released by the Pokeball, and it stared at the strange Pokemon.
"So, we meet again." The teens looked behind the strange Pokemon and saw Frank walking towards them while he smirked. He then patted the Pokemon on its back and looked down at Charizard, who was grunting in pain. "It looks like you're in a bit of pinch, Owen. I'll let your Charizard live if you turn yourself in."
"No way!" Ariel shouted while stepping forward with Blaziken, who was still in his Mega Evolved state. "Blaziken, use Quick Attack to knock that thing back!" In the blink of an eye, Blaziken checked the Pokemon that was standing on Charizard, but it didn't move an inch.
"Dragonite, use Dragon Tail!" Frank commanded. The group of four watched as the strange looking Dragonite's tail began to glow turquoise, and it slammed its tail across Blaziken's chest, sending the fire type flying back into a house. As Ariel ran after her Pokemon, Frank rolled his eyes and clapped sarcastically while watching the girl run to her Pokemon's side. "You never cease to amaze me with your inability to grow," Frank spat before looking at Owen and then down at Charizard. "Let's see if you'll give us a challenge. I like to toy with my food before I eat it." Dragonite slowly lifted his foot and whacked Charizard away with his tail, but the fire and flying type popped back up and roared angrily.
"Lord Frank, he's gotten a lot stronger since last time," Spike warned his superior. "He managed to defeat both of our Pokemon in stage two." Spike then looked down at his Pokemon, and was caught off guard when Frank tossed him two Full Restore bottles. Without saying a word, Spike sprayed Gyarados with one of the bottles while Viviana -who took the other- sprayed Machamp.
"The power of Grim Reversion is determined by the hate in your heart, unlike Mega Evolution, which relies on the bond between trainer and Pokemon. If you truly show the hate you have, your Pokemon will be exponentially stronger," the leader of Team Grim said to his admins.
"Wait, what's Grim Reversion?" Daniel asked Owen, who looked down at his Mega Bracelet.
"It's artificial Mega Evolution," the younger teen answered, shocking Daniel and Brooklyn. While they watched Machamp and Gyarados reach their second stage of Grim Reversion, Ariel and Blaziken made their way back to the fight, and the two sides squared off.
"You two," Ariel called while looking at Daniel and Brooklyn, "keep Machamp and Gyarados busy. We'll handle Frank." Daniel and Brooklyn nodded at the order, and then Ariel glanced over at Owen and tapped her Mega Bracelet.
"Charizard, Mega Evolve Y!" Owen shouted while placing his hand over the Mega Stone that would make Charizard transform into his Y mega variant. The fire type's arm band suddenly began to glow, and he was engulfed in a bright light while he underwent minor physical changes. The two spikes on his head were accompanied by a new spike which was in-between them, and there were several other spikes that grew on his tail. Two wing shaped pieces of skin extended from his forearms, and he began to stand on the balls of his feet.
"Oh, this is going to be interesting," Frank said with a smile. Dragonite nodded along with his trainer, and the dragon type stared at Charizard and Blaziken before flying towards them.
"Blaziken, use Blaze Kick to stop Dragonite!" While Dragonite prepared to attack Charizard, Blaziken stepped in front of the Mega Evolved fire type and swung his fiery foot violently. Dragonite quickly grabbed Blaziken's leg and tossed the fighting type out of the way, prompting Charizard to take to the skies. Dragonite quickly pursued the fire and flying type, and Blaziken ran over to Prism Tower and began to scale the gigantic building in an attempt to assist Charizard.
"Use Hydro Pump while they're busy, Gyarados!" Spike shouted while pointing at Samurott and Dragonair. The gigantic water type opened its mouth and fired a jet stream of water towards the Unova starter and dragon type.
"Samurott dodge and charge towards Gyarados with Razor Shell!" Brooklyn countered while throwing her arm out to the side. Samurott hopped to his right and leaped forward while taking the two swords off his front arms, and blue beams of energy shot out of both swords. The starter then slashed Gyarados across the face, making the larger Pokemon roar angrily before crushing Samurott with a powerful whip of his tail.
"Dragonair, use Dragon Dance and get ready to attack Machamp!" Dragonair was covered in spiraling blue energy before he began to speed through the air faster than usual.
"Use Submission on that pesky dragon, Machamp!" Viviana shouted. Machamp sprinted forward at a breakneck pace and wrapped its arms around Dragonair's neck in an attempt to choke the dragon type.
"Samurott, use Aqua Jet on Machamp!" Samurott got back on his feet and encapsulated himself in water before speeding through the air like a bullet. As the water type closed in on Machamp, the fighting type suddenly extended to of his six arms and grabbed Samurott by his horn and slammed him against the ground. Brooklyn and Daniel watched on in fear as their Pokemon were being destroyed by the Team Grim admins.
"Charizard, use Dragon Claw!" Owen commanded as Charizard and Dragonite flew in a double helix formation. The fire and flying type flew forward while his claws were glowing bright blue, and he slashed at Dragonite, who countered with a Thunder Punch. Electricity flew through the air as the two Pokemon fought back and forth, and Blaziken hopped up to the top of Prism Tower before jumping onto Dragonite's back.
"Blaziken, use Thunder Punch repeatedly!" Blaziken's fists were covered in electricity and he began to punch Dragonite repeatedly, making the Pokemon thrash in the air violently. Blaziken refused to let go of the dragon type, and he continued to punch his foe until he jumped back onto Prism Tower.
"Dragonite, use Dragon Rush!" Dragonite roared as he was covered in blue energy that tok the shape of a dragon, and he slammed into Charizard, who was sent crashing through another house, which was destroyed instantly. Owen looked over at the destroyed house and Charizard soared back into the air while Blaziken repeatedly fired Flamethrower attacks at Dragonite while running around the top platform on Prism Tower, but his attacks were unsuccessful.
"Charizard, don't hold anything back!" Owen shouted to the winged lizard. "Use Seismic Toss!" Owen shouted while Dragonite was preoccupied with Blaziken. Seizing the opportunity to deal a devastating blow, Charizard flew over to Dragonite and grabbed him. Charizard then flew straight in the air before flying in a circle, and then the two winged Pokemon fell like a missile. Once they crashed against the ground, a large cloud of dust shot up and Machamp threw both Dragonair and Samurott towards their trainers. Blaziken, meanwhile, hopped off the building and landed on several other houses before jumping down to Ariel.
When the dust settled, Charizard and Dragonite were both standing, though Charizard was covered in cuts and he looked to be on the verge of fainting. Before Owen could say anything, Charizard fell to the ground and reverted back to his normal form, and the teen withdrew his fainted Pokemon.
"Well, it looks like this battle's over," Frank remarked as he, Spike, Viviana, and their Pokemon began to walk towards Owen, Ariel, Brooklyn, Daniel, and Blaziken. "Let's end this Dragonite. Hyper Beam!"
"Blaziken, Overheat!" Ariel screamed. The two Pokemon reared back and unleashed blasts of orange and red energy respectively, and a massive explosion occurred. A large cloud of smoke filled the air once again, but Spike cleared it with Gyarados' Twister. Once the smoke settled, Frank scowled when he saw that the group had disappeared.
"How did they get away? We have to follow them!" Viviana shouted while she and her Machamp looked around wildly for the four teens and Blaziken.
"Relax, Viviana, they'll be found sooner or later," Frank reassured the younger woman as Dragonite reverted back to its normal appearance. The two other Pokemon also returned to their normal forms, and the two admins looked back at their leader.
"Why do you say that?" Spike quizzed as he withdrew his Gyarados. He then looked around to see a large crowd had been watching from a distance, and Frank pointed at the destroyed houses.
"They did that, and we have it on video," Frank said as he began walking back to the carrier ship nonchalantly. The two admins looked back at each other before following Frank onto the ship.

"Nice work, Blaziken," Ariel said to the fire chicken as she brushed the dirt off her clothes. Blaziken nodded back at his trainer and quickly patched up the hole he created after burrowing through the ground. Owen, Brooklyn, Daniel, Cindy, and Eddy all looked back at Lumiose City before glancing back at Ariel and Blaziken, who turned around after patching the hole.
"Thanks for the help back there," Owen said to the girl, who didn't respond to the comment. Blaziken, however, nodded at Owen. "I guess we'll see you guys around." With that, the group of five began to walk towards Laverre City. Ariel didn't bother responding, but Blaziken nudged her with his elbow, prompting the girl to roll her eyes and shake her head.
"Owen, wait," Blaziken called as he walked towards the fifteen year old. "I hate to ask this under such circumstances, but I think it'd be beneficial for us to travel with you all," Blaziken said while pointing back at Ariel.
"Ye-"
"Sorry, we have to talk for a second," Brooklyn said, cutting Owen off mid response. Blaziken nodded and the group walked away from Ariel and her Pokemon. After walking into an area with several trees, Brooklyn glared at Owen and looked around at the others. "We can't let her come with us."
"Why not?" Eddy asked curiously.
"We don't know her, and from what we've seen she's crazy," Brooklyn shouted in a hush whisper. Cindy rolled her eyes at Brooklyn's reasoning, and she looked around at the others.
"All for that chick joining, raise your hand." Cindy looked around and raised her hand, prompting Daniel and Eddy to raise their hands. Owen slowly raised his, resulting in a glare from Brooklyn. "Let's go tell them." With that, Cindy, Daniel, and Eddy walked back to Blaziken and Ariel while Brooklyn held Owen back.
"Why do you want her to come with us?" Brooklyn interrogated.
"Look, she saved me back there, and she can help us if Team Grim attacks," Owen replied. "Let's talk about this later," Owen said as he began to walk away, but he was stopped when Brooklyn grabbed his arm.
"Fine, but don't expect me to talk to her." Brooklyn then walked back with Owen and she glanced at Ariel and Blaziken, and the former was talking to the humans around him.
"That girl's nothing but trouble, and I won't let her hurt Owen."
Well, it looks like there's going to be a bit of a rivalry between Brooklyn and Ariel. So, Ariel will be traveling with the group now, though that won't be for long, because having six people traveling together is a bit ridiculous. So, the Laverre arc will start up next chapter, and it will be a lot calmer in terms of Team Grim. It'll focus more on the rivalry between Brooklyn and Ariel, and this will probably be the longest arc in the story, excluding the Kalos League.
