Theme Song

You're on your journey with your friends from the start (shows the group walking down a road together laughing)
There will be bonding and broken hearts (Owen puts his arm over Brooklyn's shoulder)
The power inside will make us strive... (Charizard starts to Mega Evolve)
For greatness! (Split screen of Owen at the Kalos League and Daniel and Brooklyn at the Grand Festival)
Put in the work and you will go far (Haunter evolves, Gengar's face is covered in shadows and she throws a Shadow Ball at the camera)
But what happens when we're torn apart? (Ariel and Blaziken look up at the moon)
A threat will rise, but we'll realize (Frank and Dragonite squaring off with Owen and Charizard)
We can do it together... Pokemon! (Group stands together with their Pokemon)

What's going on, everybody? Since I've got exams this week I'll try to put up a couple of chapters, so here's number one! Last chapter, Owen, Ariel, Brooklyn, and Daniel battled against Frank, Spike, and Viviana, but they had to retreat when they realized they couldn't defeat the power of Grim Reversion. Ariel then joined the group, and now they are on their way to Laverre City. Let's get going! Just a quick side note, Greninja and Haunter gained levels (Greninja for "The Ninja and the Fish" and Haunter for "Crouching Rival, Hidden Meganium")

SomeGuy (guest): It's not a teaser in the traditional sense, but it is teasing the final battle between the group and Team Grim. And I accept your challenge of trying to screw up this story ;)

ShadowDragon9000: Wow wow wow, slow down there, man, don't get crazy here! That's one bold prediction if you ask me :P

Defender31415: Yeah, the rivalry will kind of build up a little bit before blowing up, and I'm glad to hear the action last chapter was enough to last you a while, because there won't be anything close to that for a while

guest: Thanks! I think I could've done a better job describing the area being destroyed, though. And at this moment, I'm kind of torn on whether this is Owen's last story. If it is, I'll be introducing a new character, and she'll get one story, but if I do one more, I think I might do a Champions League where only the top trainers in the world get invited. I wouldn't get too excited about either possibility though, because I'm not sure if I'll continue writing after Kalos

The 6th Spectral King: Haha, I like the spirit, but his mom is a character I haven't introduced yet. I'll probably tease her appearance at some point within the next chapter or two, but that's all you'll see of her until her debut

Emboar-Man (guest): A lot of your predictions were really close. Only two of them were completely off, but you got the general idea for most of them

Guardianboy: There won't be a clue, so to speak, but he will be meeting one of them

MCMXCV: Well, he would've caught one of them in the desert to the west of Lumiose, but that didn't work... so I'm combining two of them!

SinnohBlaze (guest): Thanks! I won't make it look like Ariel will be hitting on Owen, but he'll try to give Brooklyn insight on her actions and such, even though he doesn't know why she does anything. And Brooklyn's second Pokemon she brought back will be revealed during the Anistar Arc, mainly because it'll help her other Pokemon with performing

"It's nice to meet you all." Blaziken looked around at the fourteen Pokemon that belonged to Owen, Brooklyn, and Daniel, and they all greeted the fire and fighting type warmly. Greninja was the first one to introduce himself, and he extended his arm. Blaziken went to shake the water type's hand, but Greninja pulled his arm back and laughed playfully before slamming his hand against the ground and disappearing, confusing Blaziken.

"Don't worry about that, he's pretty weird," Cindy informed the fire starter. Blaziken nodded and continued to converse with the other Pokemon, with the exception of Haunter, who was busy flying around Owen protectively. Even Hawlucha was talking to Blaziken because he sensed the power radiating from the Hoenn starter, but the fighting and flying type moved out of the way when Charizard walked over. He slowly extended his arm and put his hand on Blaziken's shoulder, nodding his head with a thankful smile.

"Don't worry about it," Blaziken said through his translator, which was strapped around his neck. "You saved my butt back in Shalour, it's the least I could've done." Charizard nodded once again and walked away from Blaziken before settling down in front of Owen, who was sitting next to Brooklyn.

"I just want you to know that I didn't mean what I said last night. I was caught up in the moment and-" Brooklyn stopped her apology when she saw Owen laughing to himself, making her face turn bright red with frustration. "Would you stop laughing? I'm trying to apologize here," Brooklyn said to Owen.

"It's not a big deal. Last night was pretty crazy, so I get it." Owen winked at the girl before petting Charizard, and standing up. "I think we should get going. Laverre City's just past the swamp up ahead."

"Wait wait wait, did you just say swamp?" Brooklyn asked while shuddering.

"What's the big deal, buttercup?" Ariel asked, making Cindy laugh hysterically. Brooklyn glared at the two girls and glanced over at Owen, who shrugged at the girls mocking his girlfriend. He then shot an angered look at Cindy, stopping her laughter. Ariel, however, continued to laugh as everyone withdrew their Pokemon, and the group began to walk towards the swamp.

"So how long is it going to take to get to Laverre?" Cindy asked while looking around at the others.

"Maybe an hour, two tops," Ariel replied quickly as the group stopped just in front of the disgusting swamp. Looking around to see any clear paths, Ariel sighed when the only way to get to Laverre City was through the disgusting water. "This is going to be awful." Everyone slowly took a step into the mud and they all cringed when it went up to their knees, and Eddy's chest.

"Ja," Greninja grunted as he picked Eddy out of the mud and slammed his hand against the ground. The water type then appeared on a tree branch several yards in front of the group, and they all scowled. Charizard and Blaziken then blew past them, angering them even more while the fire types raced Greninja through the swamp.

"Wait, why don't we just use our Pokemon?" Daniel asked as he tried to grab a Pokeball off his belt. The teen's face scrunched up when he tried to put his hand through the mud, and his attempt to get a Pokeball was unsuccessful. "Never mind," he muttered as he and the four other trainers fought their way through the disgusting terrain.

"So, Ariel, how do you know it'll take us so long?" Owen asked, trying to make conversation.

"It's none of your business," the fifteen year old shot back, catching Owen off guard. The Kantonian rolled his eyes at the answer, but decided to not start an argument with the secretive girl. As they continued making their way through the mud, a loud cry echoed through the swamp and rang in the trainers' ears.

"AERO!"

"What was that?" Brooklyn asked while rubbing her ears, looking around at the trees nervously as the mud began to rise higher, nearly reaching her neck. Daniel, Cindy, and Ariel were also struggling with the mud while Owen and his six foot tall stature were still breathing comfortably.

"I don't know, but that thing sounds pissed," Owen said as he and the others continued to navigate their way through the mud, which continued to climb up their bodies, now resting at the necks of the four shorter trainers.

"That didn't sound like a Pokemon that should be around here," Ariel said under her breath while looking around. A group of Goomy were swimming through the mud in fear, piquing everyone's interest. Before they could follow the tiny dragon types, Charizard, Blaziken, and Greninja returned with Eddy sitting on Charizard's back.

"What are you guys doing back so soon?" Cindy inquired as the Blaziken and Greninja sat on a tree branch while Charizard descended slightly.

"These two Pokemon blew up all of the trees near the entrance to Laverre, so Greninja and I couldn't get through," Blaziken answered before Eddy could. "They passed by too quickly for any of us to get a good look, so we don't know what the Pokemon were."

"That sounds like a strong Pokemon. I've gotta catch it!" Owen exclaimed while trying to speed through the mud, though he didn't move any faster.

"Slow down there, you're not catching another Pokemon," Brooklyn told her boyfriend, who frowned and looked back at the sound. "You already have eight Pokemon with you. We have eight combined," Brooklyn continued while pointing at herself and Daniel.

"Fine, but if you guys can't catch it I'm going to."

"Don't you think there's something a little more important than catching Pokemon?" Ariel asked in agitation as she and the others struggled through the mud. The blank looks on Owen, Brooklyn, Daniel, and Cindy's faces made Ariel groan before she took a deep breath to collect her emotions. "You know, Team Grim and everything? They're trying to kill us?"

"Oh yeah..." Owen muttered, somehow forgetting the criminal organization that was trying to murder him. "Speaking of Team Grim, why are they after you?" Owen quizzed while looking at the fifteen year old. Before Ariel could answer, a winged figure sped through the air and slammed into Greninja, who was launched off his tree branch and fell in the mud.

"AERO!" the Pokemon cried as it landed on the top of the largest tree in the area.

"Hey, that's an Aerodactyl!" Cindy screamed while pointing at the prehistoric Pokemon. The Aerodactyl roared once again and looked down at Blaziken and Charizard, who were both ready to attack.

"Dragonair, come on out!" Daniel shouted as he punched his hand through the mud and grabbed a Pokeball off his belt, unlike the others. He then threw the device in the air and Dragonair appeared. The dragon type quickly pulled Daniel out of the mud and he sat on the back of the skinny Pokemon. "Dragonair, use Ice Beam!" The tiny blue orb on Dragonair's neck began to glow light blue and she fired a zigzagging beam of ice towards Aerodactyl, who shot into the air and began to fly around overhead.

"Why is Aerodactyl circling us?" Cindy questioned as she looked around at the older trainers, who were all staring at the rock and flying type. Suddenly, Aerodactyl swooped down and picked Brooklyn out of the mud and began to fly away while screeching at a deafening pitch.

"Charizard, get me out of here and let's go!" Owen screamed to his starter. Charizard nodded and flew over to Owen, Ariel, and Cindy, picking each of them out of the mud. He then dropped Ariel and Cindy on a tree branch Blaziken was sitting on, and Greninja got out of the mud and hopped on the branch. As Charizard began to fly away, Owen withdrew Greninja, and he stared out at Aerodactyl. Much to his surprise, Owen saw Daniel and Dragonair flying beside him and Charizard, while Blaziken was hopping from tree to tree with Ariel on his back and Cindy and Eddy in his hands.

"Dragonair, use another Ice Beam!" Daniel shouted as Dragonair began to catch up to Aerodactyl. Another zigzagging ray of ice was fired from Dragonair's mouth, and the attack clipped Aerodactyl's wing. "Nice job, Dragonair!" Daniel exclaimed as Aerodactyl began to fall from the air, and it crashed into a bunch of trees after dropping Brooklyn.

"Charizard, save her!" Charizard zipped down and caught Brooklyn with his right hand just before she could hit the trees, and he threw her onto his back.

"Guys, I'm going to go check on Aerodactyl," Daniel informed the others as he and Dragonair swooped down to the crushed trees, where they found Aerodactyl getting out of the mud and roaring defensively. Daniel and Dragonair looked around the angered Pokemon's wings and saw a tiny nest where a smaller Pokemon was hiding in fear, and Daniel immediately raised his hands. "We're not here to attack, Aerodactyl."

"Aero!" the Pokemon shot back, but he was silenced when Dragonair nodded calmly. The rock and flying type slowly moved away from the Pokemon he was defending, and Daniel smiled when he saw a tiny Axew laying in the nest. It looked terrified of him, but he continued to smile and walk through the thick mud before slowly placing a hand on the dragon's head. Axew immediately smiled at the coordinator while Aerodactyl continued to scowl, but the winged Pokemon turned its attention to Owen and the others as they appeared.

"What the?" Ariel said to herself as Dragonair and Daniel stood over the Axew, who was smiling and laughing.

"Hey, you should catch those two!" Eddy exclaimed. Daniel looked back and forth at the two Pokemon, but he gasped slightly when Axew hopped out of its nest and climbed onto Aerodactyl's back. The smaller Pokemon wrapped its arms around Aerodactyl's neck, and the two glared at Daniel, who took two Pokeballs out of his bag.

"You know, I'd be more than glad to have you both on my team. We could definitely win some contests together." The two Pokemon looked at each other for a few seconds before Axew nodded at Daniel's proposal while Aerodactyl rolled his eyes. "Great! Go, Pokeballs!" Daniel tossed both Pokeballs at the two Pokemon and they were sucked into the devices, which began to wiggle back and forth in the mud.

Ping!

"Wow! That's awesome!" Eddy and Cindy squealed in unison while Ariel rolled her eyes at the excitement. Blaziken, Greninja, and Charizard, meanwhile, all congratulated Daniel.

"Can we get going now? We need to get to Laverre soon," Ariel requested as she began to walk away. Brooklyn growled lowly but stopped when Owen put his hands on her shoulders, and he shook his head. The blonde sighed and walked along with Owen and the others while Ariel led the exploration. The fifteen year old refused to turn around and she bit her lip as they continued on to Laverre City. There was something there she was hiding, but no one could know about it.

Finally. Daniel caught both an Aerodactyl and Axew, and they're going to be a handful when the time comes for his performance, so stay tuned for that. I don't really have much else to say, so till next time, peace out.

Next Chapter: "The Truth Comes Out": After deciding to set up camp just outside of Laverre City, the group decides to kick back and talk about why they all decided to travel through Kalos. When it's Owen's turn to speak, he feels the pressure of informing everyone the real reason for his coming to the region. Will he tell everyone?
