It's time for another Team Grim chapter! I don't know why, but these are my favorite chapters to write. It's probably because I get to use more mature things, mainly violence, while the rest of the story is more light-hearted. So, this chapter will be focusing on the public perception of Owen and the others changing for the worse, and Frank will start rising to power. Let's get started!
Defender31415: Ariel is a very mysterious person/character, but she'll start to show her true colors a little later. That's about all I can disclose, because I don't want to spoil anything. (I've been planning her appearance since Sinnoh, so I think it would be really deflating if I just gave away her role)
MCMXCV: I like the descriptions you did of everyone! This is probably the most diverse group of characters I've had (Kanto and Unova would beg to differ, but I digress), and it's probably the most fun to write about given their personalities and how they clash

"Are you sure that the malfunctions are all settled?" Frank asked a man in a lab coat, who was wearing glasses and looked like your typical geek. The man nodded, and Frank patted him on the back before laughing. "Hahaha, that's good, otherwise I'd have to kill you." With that, he walked out of the laboratory while the professor shook in fear, and Frank walked through the hallways of Prism Tower. He had defeated Clemont and kicked him out of the building, occasionally wondering if he had gone soft for not killing the gym leader.
Frank continued walking down one of the hallways with a stack of papers in his hand, and he turned before bumping into Viviana, who immediately bowed and apologized.
"Why are you running around like a chicken with its head cut off?" Frank asked as Viviana walked by his side down the hallway. He didn't bother looking over at the younger woman because he was busy studying the papers in front of him.
"You're on air in two minutes, and the footage is good to go. All you have to do is press the red button on this remote," Viviana instructed while handing Frank a typical TV remote with a large red button that said footage. The man nodded and sped through page after page before walking into a room full of topnotch cameras, and he strolled over to an anchor table before sitting down. Several female grunts walked over and did his makeup while Spike sat down next to Frank, and Viviana was on his other side.
"So what exactly did you record during your battle with those kids?" Spike inquired. The man was met with silence, but Frank patted him on the back as the camera crew began counting down from ten.
"You'll find out, now leave me alone," he instructed to both of the admins, who obeyed their leader's orders. As the countdown reached three, Frank lined up his papers and tapped them against the table before placing them in front of his hands, and a red light turned on while the camera crew pointed at him.
"Hello, citizens of Kalos. As most of you know, we are Team Grim, and we seek to be the voice of the people. We have breaking news that could intervene with our plans of achieving peace and equal voice for all, when four trainers attacked me and my fellow Team Grim members. Owen Plateau and Ariel Field attempted to take my life, along with my comrades, but we managed to fend them off. During their assault, both threats destroyed several houses and apartments around Prism Tower, so feel free to look at the damage yourself. We do, however, have a clip for those of you who would like to see the live action."
Frank pressed the red button on his remote, and every television's screen in Kalos displayed Ariel's Blaziken spring out of a destroyed building while people ran out in terror. Then, it showed Blaziken being launched into another house, and that was followed by Charizard experiencing the same thing. Finally, the video ended with Blaziken climbing up Prism Tower and shooting Flamethrower attacks while Charizard used Seismic Toss on Dragonite.
"You see, these people are attempting to overthrow Team Grim, and we can't let that happen. With your help, we can squash this uprising, and democracy can finally be established in Kalos. I promise, I, along with my comrades in Team Grim, will do anything to protect you all from Ariel Field and Owen Plateau. For those who are interested in helping, please contact your local police station when you have any tips on where these two can be. Good night, Kalos."
The red light on the top of the camera turned off and Frank quickly rose from his chair with an evil smirk as Spike and Viviana followed him out of the room, complimenting the man's deception.
"So what's the plan now, Lord Frank?" Spike inquired as he, Viviana and Frank stepped into an elevator before ascending to the top floor of Prism Tower. Frank didn't answer as he entered his office, and he sat down at his chair before kicking his feet on the desk in front of him.
"We wait, Spike. We've done everything we can, now it's on the people to take the bait. When they do, this region is ours."

Meanwhile, in a house in Laverre City, a woman rose from her couch and stared at the TV. She had just watched the broadcast presented by Team Grim, and she began to rewind the announcement.
"...members. Owen Plateau-" She paused the TV with her remote and stared at the picture of the boy standing by his Charizard, and she smiled. The woman walked out of the room she was in and entered her bedroom, where a Mega Bracelet and six Pokeballs were lying. After picking up the items, she made her way back to the TV and looked at a portrait, which had Owen giving a peace sign with Charizard, who was releasing ember from his nostrils. Tears rolled down the woman's eyes, and she sniffled slightly before regaining her composure.
"I didn't expect this day to come. We finally get to meet, Owen, my son."
Hmm... who is that unnamed woman at the end of the chapter? It's pretty obvious, right? It's Owen's mom! But who the heck is she? That'll be answered pretty soon, but it'll go unanswered for now. Any who, Owen and the gang will be arriving in Laverre City next chapter, and I've decided to switch up the order of the chapters because I'm so pumped for this encounter! Till next time, peace out.
Next Chapter: "Fairy Best Friends": Upon their arrival in Laverre City, Owen decides to leave the others in order to train for his upcoming gym battle, but Ariel decides to accompany him. His training goes haywire, however, when a group of Pokemon need his help from a group of hunters. When one Pokemon in particular takes a liking to Owen, they team up to save the colony of Pokemon. Can Owen and Ariel save the Pokemon with this strange ally?
