Well, after seeing that I didn't change the intro from last chapter (stupid me) this is my attempt at fixing it. This chapter will focus on Owen meeting a new Pokemon and eventually catching it, though there will be some slight complications before that happens. Now, let's get this thing going!
MCMXCV: She's definitely going to be an important character, and I think there could be a battle between her and Owen, though I think that might be at the end of the story, if at all

Once the sun rose, all of the Pokemon that were allowed outside their Pokeballs shot up from their sleep and began to try and wake everyone up. Greninja, Braixen, Litleo, and Dragonair watched as Charizard and Blaziken attempted to wake the trainers up, but they weren't successful.
"Hey, where's Brooklyn? She's not in her tent," Blaziken asked the others while peering into the blonde's tent. The others shrugged at the question, and they didn't realize Brooklyn sneaking out of Owen's tent and back into her own. After a few more hours passed and the sun was actually in the sky, the trainers got out of their tents groggily.
"Damn, I can't believe we're already at Laverre City," Owen said to himself as he looked down at the tiny city. He slowly took out his badge case and stared at the three empty spots before looking up once again. "I'm going to win my sixth badge, and no one can stop me!"

"I can't go on, leave me behind!" Owen cried as he lagged behind everyone else for what must have been the first time during the group's travels through Kalos. Greninja and Charizard remained in the back with their trainer, but they were becoming fed up with his sluggish pace, which suddenly picked up when Eddy pointed at the city that was only a few hundred feet away.
"We're here!" he exclaimed. Before anyone could say anything, Owen blew past them, leaving a cloud of dust behind. The others stared in awe as he ran faster than Greninja and Charizard, who was flying as fast as he could, and they all shook their heads. Once the others arrived in the city, they looked around at the rustic buildings that were covered in ivy, and an enormous tree stood in the middle of the city.
"Is that the famous tree you were talking about, Ariel?" Daniel quizzed as Owen, Charizard, and Greninja walked back to the five trainers.
"Yeah. Legend says that it holds the souls of deceased children, so don't go by there at night," she instructed while looking at Eddy mischievously. The eight year old trembled in fear and Ariel started laughing, but she stopped when Brooklyn glared at her.
"That's not funny, you jerk. He's only eight!" she shouted while stepping towards Ariel, who began to walk towards Brooklyn. Before the two girls could fight, Blaziken stepped in-between them and punched the ground so hard it began to shake.
"STOP!" Once he saw that everyone was focusing on him, Blaziken cleared his throat and reverted back to his normal, calm demeanor. "You two need to stop fighting. Why don't we all take a break for today and everyone can bond and..." Blaziken stopped talking when he saw Eddy and Cindy run towards the Pokemon Center, and Daniel and Brooklyn walked over to Owen.
"Well that did wonders," Ariel mocked with a playful grin, making Blaziken laugh slightly.
"We're going to go train at the Pokemon Center for the contest," Brooklyn informed her boyfriend before pecking him on the cheek and walking towards the Pokemon Center with Daniel, Dragonair, and Braixen. Owen, Charizard, Greninja, Ariel, and Blaziken were left standing in the middle of the city, but the silence was broken by Blaziken.
"You need to train for your gym battle, right?" Blaziken inquired, already knowing the answer. Owen and his starters nodded in response, prompting Blaziken to start walking towards the Pokemon Center. "Follow me. There's a really good training spot past the Pokemon Center." Owen nodded and followed the bipedal Pokemon and so did Ariel, who looked around at the buildings. After ten minutes of walking, the group stopped when they entered a clearing in the woods, and Owen stared in amazement.
"How do you know about this place?" Owen asked as Greninja and Charizard ran around.
"We found it when I trained for this gym battle," Ariel answered as she started walking past Owen before turning around. "Now call out all of your Pokemon." Owen did as he was told, and Butterfree, Pikachu, Hawlucha, Haunter, and Chespin appeared in front of their trainer. Seeing the Pokemon, Ariel covered her face with her hands and sighed, but Blaziken seemed happy with the group of Pokemon.
"What's wrong?"
"Do you have any other Pokemon that are, I don't know, stronger?"
As soon as they heard Ariel's question, all of Owen's Pokemon began yelling angrily, making her grin proudly, which confused the Pokemon.
"Good, they've all got some spirit. Anyways, the gym here specializes in fairy types, so you don't have any type advantages here," Ariel informed Owen, who looked at her in confusion.
"What the heck is a fairy type?" the Kantonian quizzed as Greninja got in line with his teammates. Charizard, meanwhile, stood next to Owen and looked down at the Pokemon, whose backs were facing him.
"It's a type native to Kalos, and they're stats make it so that they're tanks. They're the kryptonite to dragons, and they're only weak to steel, and poison while they're strong against dark, fighting, and dragon," Blaziken informed the teen.
"So if that's the case, Greninja and Hawlucha wouldn't be good choices," Owen thought to himself after thinking of the typing of his Pokemon.
"Let's see what your Pokemon can do," Ariel said while taking a few steps back with Blaziken. "Have one of them face Blaziken." As Ariel said that, all six of the Pokemon standing in front of Owen began to back away while the fire starter emitted flames from his wrists. "How about the Haunter?" Ariel inquired while pointing at Haunter, who looked around in confusion before pointing at herself. Blaziken nodded at the ghost type, and she looked over at Owen worriedly before floating forwards.
"Here we go, Haunter. Use Shadow Ball!"
"Punch through it." Haunter put her hands together and fired a large ball of black and purple energy towards Blaziken, who reared his fist back and punched through the attack with ease, making all of the spectating Pokemon's jaws hit the ground.
"That was a pretty strong attack, I'm impressed," Blaziken said while bowing to Haunter, who bowed back thankfully. As Haunter floated back to Owen, Chespin stepped forward and made the spikes on his head as hard as he could.
"Alright, use Energy Ball, Chespin!"
"Punch through it," Ariel ordered once again. As Chespin released the ball of green energy, Blaziken rolled his eyes at the attack and destroyed it with a simple flick of his fingers, making Chespin stomp on the ground angrily.
"Shake it off, Chespin, Blaziken's a really high level," Owen informed the grass type, who sat down angrily and crossed his stubby arms over his chest. As Owen was about to send Pikachu forwards, a strange Pokemon ran out of the trees. It was tiny and fat, and there were two other Pokemon that had similar faces flying behind it at an equally slow pace. Suddenly, two men chased after them and grabbed Pokeballs off their belts.
"Go, Pokeballs!" the shouted while throwing several Pokeballs. The two flying Pokemon were caught in the Pokeballs while the chubby one that was running managed to evade them.
"Butterfree, use Psybeam on those guys!" Owen shouted. Butterfree quickly flew forwards before firing a multicolored beam out of her eyes that exploded in front of the men, who turned angrily and stared at Owen. They stopped, however, when Charizard and Blaziken started charging towards them, and the men ran away in terror.
"Hunters," Ariel growled as she started walking towards the chubby Pokemon that had escaped. Owen followed the girl and when he reached the Pokemon, it looked up at him with a stupid smile.
"Slurpuff, the Meringue Pokemon. It can distinguish the faintest of scents. It puts its sensitive sense of smell to use by helping pastry chefs in their work."
Owen looked up from his Pokedex and was caught off guard by the tiny Pokemon running forward and hugging his leg, making the teen sweat drop while Ariel and Blaziken laughed. Charizard and Owen's Kalosian Pokemon appeared by their trainer's side in a matter of seconds and they looked down at the smiling Pokemon until it began to growl at them.
"That's hilarious. Slurpuff's trying to protect you from them," Blaziken said while laughing robotically. Slurpuff shot him an angry look before grabbing Owen's leg even tighter.
"It's okay, Slurpuff, we're not here to hurt you," Owen informed the tiny fairy type, who smiled and licked the teen who was kneeling. Owen slowly wiped the slobber off his face and forced a smile at the friendly Pokemon, but he stopped when another flying Pokemon that looked like Slurpuff flew out of the woods.
"Lix!" the Pokemon cried before floating around Slurpuff, whose facial expression turned from one of kindness to that of rage. Owen, Ariel, and their Pokemon looked on as Slurpuff nodded at the smaller Pokemon, who flew back into the woods.
"Puff-Slurp-Slurp!" Slurpuff shouted at Owen before running into the woods. Owen looked back at his Pokemon and shrugged before withdrawing them and running after Slurpuff, who was slower than molasses. Realizing the Pokemon needed to get somewhere urgently, Owen picked Slurpuff up and sprinted into the woods with Ariel, Blaziken, Greninja, and Charizard following close behind.
"Puff!" Slurpuff exclaimed as she spotted the two men that had fled earlier. Owen stopped dead in his tracks and hid behind a large tree, but Slurpuff hopped out of his arms and began to waddle towards the men.
"What the hell is that thing doing?" Ariel interrogated while kneeling down next to Owen. The two teens peered around the tree and saw several of the floating Pokemon trapped in cages along with tons of other Slurpuff, which clicked in their heads.
"They're taking all of Slurpuff's colony. We have to help," Owen informed Ariel and the three Pokemon, who all nodded. "Greninja, climb into the trees and make sure Slurpuff doesn't get captured. Use Water Shuriken if you have to. Charizard, stay back unless I call for you, okay?"
"Rawr."
With that, Owen dropped to the ground and began crawling after Slurpuff, who was still waddling towards the men and captured Pokemon.
"Yeah, all these Swirlix and Slurpuff are gonna make us rich!" the man with a weird mustache shouted victoriously to the man on the right, who was wearing an eyepatch.
"Definitely, but we have to get the one that ran away. We need all the money we can get," the man with the eyepatch concurred. As he turned around, he spotted Slurpuff waddling towards him angrily, and it was screaming something in Poke-Speak, so the man couldn't understand.
"Ja," Greninja muttered to himself as he stared down at the two men from the top of his tree. As Slurpuff got closer to the men, Greninja put his hands hands next to his ribs and began charging an incredibly powerful Water Shuriken. Owen, meanwhile, continued crawling through the grass, and he went unnoticed because the men were focusing on Slurpuff.
"Well well well, look what we've got here," the man with the weird mustache said as his partner walked around Slurpuff so he was facing the fairy types back. Slurpuff turned around nervously and looked over at the trapped Swirlix and Slurpuff before charging at the man with the eyepatch. Thanks to Slurpuff's speed -or lack thereof- the one eyed man was able to kick Slurpuff in the face, making the chubby Pokemon fall on the ground in pain.
"Maybe we should teach this thing a lesson first," the one eyed man said as he lifted his foot to stomp on Slurpuff. Before he could, Greninja fired a Water Shuriken at him, slashing the man and sending him flying into a tree. The mustached man looked around nervously as Greninja remained out of sight and began hopping from tree to tree, and he appeared behind the man. When he turned around, the man was met by a punch to the face from Greninja, who then grabbed the man and threw him into his accomplice.
"Nice job, Greninja!" Owen cheered as he ran forward and to Slurpuff's side. "Are you okay, Slurpuff?" Owen asked the fairy type as he picked her up off the ground. Slurpuff replied by licking Owen's face, and he wiped the slobber away. He then sent out all of his Pokemon, and they broke the crates all the Swirlix and Slurpuff were in. Once they were freed, the fairy types cheered and the men tried running away, but they were stopped by Ariel, Charizard, and Blaziken.
"Puff puff," Slurpuff said to Owen before hugging his leg tightly. The trainer laughed at the tiny Pokemon's excitement, and he patted her on the head while all the other Pokemon cheered for him and his Pokemon.
"Alright, Owen, let's go train," Ariel said as she and Owen's Pokemon began to walk away. The Kantonian nodded and waved as he walked away from Slurpuff and her colony, but the fairy type waddled after him.
"Slurp!" Ariel and Owen turned to see Slurpuff trip over a root and face plant comically before pushing herself back up and latching onto Owen's leg with a smile. "Puff!"
"Slurpuff says she wants to join you," Blaziken informed Owen, who looked down at Slurpuff and picked her up excitedly. The fairy type licked Owen's face again, and he groaned while getting the slobber off his face, but he smiled when Slurpuff hopped out of his arms and waited to be captured.
"Welcome to the team, Slurpuff." With that, Owen tapped the Pokeball against Slurpuff's head, and the Pokeball rang instantly, signaling Slurpuff's capture. The Pokeball then shrunk, and Owen clipped on his belt while withdrawing all his other Pokemon. "I think I'm done training for the day. I need to show everyone my new Pokemon!" Owen cheered. Greninja and Charizard joined in on the celebration, and Ariel and Blaziken walked back to the Pokemon Center with Owen and Ariel.

"He has to be close. He was just in Lumiose City, so he most likely came here for his next gym battle," Owen's mother whispered to herself as she walked by the Pokemon Center, catching a glimpse of a blonde girl training with an older boy. "I guess it can't hurt to ask," she said aloud while walking towards the back of the Pokemon Center. "Excuse me!" the woman called out to the four kids in front of her, who turned around at the same time.
"Can we help you with something, ma'am?" the blonde asked respectfully.
"Yes, actually," the woman replied while looking through her purse. Once she found what she was looking for, the woman took out a picture and handed it to the blonde, who looked at the picture along with the three other kids. "Have you seen this boy around?"
The kids looked up at the woman and then back down at the picture, which was Owen giving a peace sign while Charizard was releasing ember from his nose.
"I'm sorry, did you say who you were?" the blonde girl asked. Before the woman could respond, two teens strolled over to the practice battlefields with their Pokemon in tow, and they made their way to their friends.
"Are you alright, Brooklyn?" Owen inquired while looking at his girlfriend. The girl handed him the picture the woman had given her, and Owen looked at it in confusion, along with Charizard. The woman then took out another picture and handed it to Ariel, who looked just as shocked as Owen. It was a picture of her and Blaziken.
"Who are you?" Owen interrogated while Charizard and Greninja prepared to attack, making the woman laugh as she looked back and forth at Owen and Ariel.
"My name is Catherine Trainem, and I'm your mother."
Well that's a game changer, isn't it? Owen's mother has entered the fray, and the drama bomb I've been planning has finally dropped! For anyone who's confused by the ending, Catherine is the mother of both Owen and Ariel, and that will be explained next chapter. Till next time, peace out.
