Mischief's Daughter

Thirty-Two: My Son

4 Years Later

"Where is my granddaughter?" Old Man Winter asked.

He knew that he shouldn't, he knew exactly where she was she had just come back tired out of her mind and body looking for the child she had lost. It hurt him to see her like this because he was afraid it would be another repeat of the soldier situation, he couldn't see his granddaughter through something like that again and Loki had not come in a while.

"She is in her bedroom." Icicle told him.

"Thank-you." He said and was alarmed when some of his soldiers came inside.

"Your Majesty, the Spirit of Autumn is on the premises he insist on talking to Princess Jakeline."

"Let him inside." Old Man Winter said standing up. "Icicle tell my granddaughter that someone is here to see her."

"Yes, your majesty." Icicle said.

It took only minutes before the Spirit of Autumn stood in-front of him. Hiccup had to admit that he was frightened of Old Man Winter he had heard stories and the way he looked didn't exactly help. But he needed to talk to Jakeline.

"Hiccup, what's the matter?" Jakeline asked coming in wearing a dress.

"I found him; you need to come immediately I don't think he is going to make it." Hiccup let out. Jakeline looked at him and she began to move.

"Wind let's go." Jakeline said.

"Be careful." Old Man Winter said.

Clint was in pain he was going to die, but it was fine he wouldn't feel pain. He suddenly feel cold and it should be bad but he didn't he always had good memories.

"Clint? Clint honey can you hear me?"

"Jack?" he asked.

"Yes, honey I'm here I'll fix you up." he heard Jakeline say and he could hear that she was crying.

"Your-you're not supposed to cry?" he told her before getting loss in the darkness.

"What sick person did this?" Jakeline asked Hiccup.

"I saw two men beat him and leave him here, I wasn't going to intervene until I heard the name and well I just came to call you."

"Well I have to go back to the Winter Lands." Jakeline said holding onto Clint in her arms.

"Are you sure he is going to make it?" Hiccup asked.

"Yeah." Jakeline says and took Clint away no one ever noticed.

Clint feels safe and he wonders if he is dead.

"You're not dead Clint." He hears the voice and he feels tears at his eyes because she couldn't be here, she hadn't found him.

"Jakeline?" he questions and is afraid to get an answer.

"I'm here, your safe." he opens his eyes and sees her.

"You-you found me." he tells her.

"Yeah, sorry it took me long." Jakeline said. She was so happy; she had been so worried about Clint not waking up.

"But you did." He told her and looked around. "Where am I?"

"Oh." Jakeline said with a smile. "Welcome to the Winter Castle."

"What, were in your home?"

"Yes…" she stopped when they was a knock on the door.

"It's open." Jakeline said. Clint looked at the door and when it opened he was surprised the man there seemed cold. He walked with flare and a large staff in his hand.

"So this is the boy." Old Man Winter said.

"Grandpa, this is Clint. Clint this is Old Man Winter."

"Hi."

"Hello young man." Old Man Winter said with a soft smile on his face. "You must know Clinton that you are the first human male in the Winter Forest it is something you should be proud of."

"Oh."

"Grandpa doesn't overwhelm Clint."

"Jakeline, Clinton are you hungry?"

"Yes, sir." Clint said.

"Nonsense, I am Grandad to you Clinton." Old Man Winter said.

Old Man Winter's saying was not exactly wrong. Jakeline made the next decision of to adopt Clint and raise him like a normal kid.

"You really want to?" Clint asked Jakeline.

"Of course I do." Jakeline said with a smile. Jakeline had just signed the adoption papers and Clint was officially her son.

"We are going to live in the Winter Castle?" Clint asked. He loved it; it was very different from any circus. He had told Jakeline everything that happened. So he loved the Winter Castle, Old Man Winter was right about being the first human and he was able to visit places and learn. The Ice Spirits were very kind to him and he was happy to know that in a way he was Jakeline's son now.
