Okey doke, this chapter and I have been through a lot, my old laptop broke and I wasn't able to get a new one for seven weeks, once new laptop was brought I had to install word and re-write this! The original was better, but it has been lost :-(
Don't own Merlin!
Gwen was sat in the throne room, listening to the complaints that the villagers had. If she wasn't pregnant she knew she would be involved in the fighting, not completing all the boring jobs that a Queen had to do. Technically this was Arthur's job but until he got back she was having to do it.
The last of the villagers had left when Ygraine and Morgause walked in, the former holding Amhar and the latter Ywain.
"Thanks for coming to save me." Gwen said dryly. She was talking about the pact she and Morgause had made when Arthur and Leon had first left- if in need of rescuing from a dull situation they would say Gwen or Morgause (depending on who was attending council) were needed elsewhere.
"You looked like you were having so much fun though!" Morgause said with fake cheer. Gwen scowled.
"Grow up, both of you." Ygraine said sternly, putting Amhar down. The young boy ran to his mother and sat on her lap.
"Of course." The pair answered in unison, before grinning. Ygraine shook her head at her step-daughter and daughter-in-law.
"I received a message, Morgana sent a raven, they're on their way back." Gwen sat up straighter.
"Did she say anything about…?" Gwen trailed off, looking at her son. Ygraine smiled.
"Apparently the only person not returning is Kara." Gwen nodded solemnly.
"I see."
"Yes, apparently she was betraying Camelot by feeding Nimueh information. Mordred had no idea. She has already been executed for her crimes. " Gwen was startled by this. Why had Kara been so desperate to betray them, especially when Mordred was no longer allying her in her task?
"Nimueh?" Ygraine nodded, looking slightly angered by the mention of this sorceress. Morgause felt as though she recognised the name from somewhere, but couldn't place it.
"Nimueh was a High Priestess," Ygraine informed them, then turned to Morgause. "Vivienne left you in her care when you were seven. She didn't do a very good job if you don't remember her." Suddenly it clicked with Morgause, she remembered Nimueh, long dark brown hair and startling blue eyes. Morgause knew there were parts she didn't know, but would wait until Morgana was back.

"You know, we'll have to tell Gwen why Elyan isn't here." Gwaine said smirking. Both Arthur and Morgana rolled their eyes in unison. Their actions were becoming extremely similar and Lancelot had even suggested they might have the twin sync, without actually being twins.
"He'll be back next month, he wants to be here for when Gwen has the baby, he's just helping Mithian adapt to being Queen." Arthur told Gwaine.
"Of course, helping her adapt, that's what he's doing." Gwaine said cheekily. Everyone decided to ignore him.
"Look, Camelot's just ahead, shall we see what havoc Gwen and Morgause have caused?" Leon asked, desperate to change the topic. Unfortunately Gwaine decided he would move on and tease Leon instead.
"Ah, missing your wife Leon?"
"Yes Gwaine, I actually have feelings, unlike some." The group all 'oohed' except for Arthur.
"Come on, less bullying each other, some of us actually want to get home." Arthur gently kicked his horse to go faster, the less time he was away from his son the better.

The party arrived in Camelot's main square just when the evening darkness was in its full might. Morgana was the first to dismount from her horse, who she led into the stables. The time of their arrival was unexpected and Arthur figured that it was past midnight. Angrily, he shushed Gwaine, who glared at him.
"Do you want to wake all of Camelot?" Arthur hissed.
"Ah, princess is worried about us breaking the rules, look!" Many of the Knights and Merlin smiled, although Morgana remained solemn.
"You guys have no idea what it's like to have a child woken up at two in the morning, so I suggest you shut it." Unsurprisingly, her whispered threat was very effective and no-one muttered a single word until they were in the castle.
"Can we go to the kitchens and get some food, I'm absolutely famished." Gwaine practically pleaded.
"If it means we'll get rid of you then by all means go ahead." Everyone looked at Percival when he said this, surprised at the usually quiet knight. Obviously Gwaine had managed to drive Percival up the wall as well.
"No takers?" Gwaine asked before heading in the direction of the kitchens.
"Hope Audrey doesn't catch him, again!" Merlin mumbled once Gwaine was out of earshot.
"Again?" Orgeluse asked. Being one of the newest in the group she still wasn't entirely used to Gwaine's antics.
"She threatened to chop off his fingers last time!" Leon told her, making Orgeluse and Morgana laugh. It was definitely good to be back in Camelot, Arthur decided. Finally he could get on with being King, no mishaps were forecast and he had all of his immediate family around him. Life was definitely on the up.
Only a few more chapters left, if that! Got a sequel planned, but need to map out story events before I can even think of writing it (just thought I'd give you a heads up!
Please tell me what you think :-)
