Theme Song

From light to dark, it seems you've lost (Frank smirking in his office while looking down at Lumiose City)
Can you repair hope, or is this the cost? (The group stares off into the sunset, minus Ariel and Catherine)
Show them your strength, and don't you wait (Greninja throws a Water Shuriken while hopping off a tree, and Charizard collides with Dragonite)
The prize goes to the one who doesn't hesitate (Camera zooms in on Ariel, transitions to Catherine looking at Owen and Ariel's baby pictures)
Some may fall, (The people of Lumiose stare in horror while a body falls off the top of Prism Tower)
But that's what must happen to save them all (Children are running around the various cities playing with Pokemon)
Which power will rise? Is this the demise? (Split screen of Owen and Frank glaring at each other)
It's too late to go back, you must go on (Brooklyn and Daniel battling against Spike and Viviana)
Keep your head up and remain strong! (Freeze-frame of Owen standing with his Pokemon, which includes Gengar and Chesnaught)
It's all or nothing, let your life go... Pokemon!

How's it going, everyone? I've got a nice change of pace chapter coming your way until the real drama starts, so get pumped! Last chapter, Owen and Daniel had a practice battle where Tyrantrum got over his (short) fear of Slurpuff, and Quilladin evolved! Now, Ariel and Catherine will be spending some time together before heading after Owen, so let's get going!

guest: I completely forgot about the exp share! Thinking about it, they were pretty tough if you didn't use it, but I was one of those chumps that did, so I thought they were a disappointment, though Siebold was actually pretty tough

Defender31415: Chesnaught and Gengar are going to be beasts, but they're not going to get that much attention for a little while because eI want to make sure all of Owen's Pokemon are at the same level

FlameStriker123: I actually wasn't going to have him do it, but it just sprung into my head in the Lumiose Arc, so I figured 'hey, why not?' because it's going to end up leading into something pretty interesting

SomeGuy (guest): Chesnaught's awesomeness can not be understated. And thanks! I don't go for humor that often because it's pretty hit or miss, but I'm relieved to see someone thought it was funny. Oh, and I got the latin title idea from ShadowDragon9000's story 'All Out'

ShadowDragon9000: Cupcakes and dinosaurs don't go well together... :P And Chesnaught is awesome! Hypehypehypehypehype

SinnohBlaze (guest): I figured you were going for Slurpuff's sticky saliva being used in a battle (which will happen), and I really appreciate the idea! As for your questions, I'll rifle off the answers: Flare won't be making an appearance, there will be only jokes about them. There won't be a contest in Dendemille. And it feels weird knowing this is the last story I'll be writing about Owen, though it's only been two years. Kanto and Johto only took a month combined (no life, lol). Thank you, and feel free to ask any other questions!

The 6th Spectral King: Uncle, brother, cousin, son, grandpa, the possibilities are endless, lol. As for Charizard being weaker than Diantha's Gardevoir, he was stronger than her in her normal state, but Mega Evolution tupped the battle in Diantha's favor

"Do I have to?" Ariel whined as she and Blaziken looked back into Catherine's house. The two had been training by themselves for the better part of an hour, and the sun was shining overhead. "Why can't you hang out with your other Pokemon?"

"You're really not good at this bonding thing, are you?" Catherine quizzed jokingly as she walked out of her house and took a seat on the bench that was stationed on the perimeter of the battlefield. Blaziken chuckled at the response while Ariel glared at her mother, ultimately sighing. "Come on, it'll be fun. Besides, you're the one that came to Kalos looking for me."

"Yeah, and you're the mother that didn't look for her kids," the fifteen year old shot back angrily, making Catherine look at the ground in sorrow. The woman looked up at her child, clearly pained by the remark, and Ariel turned away, knowing that what she had said was wrong. "Sorry, I'm still trying to get used to having a real mom."

"That's fine, honey," Catherine responded as she walked over and hugged her daughter. "Now let's go around the city. I'm sure we'll find something to do." Ariel looked over at Blaziken, who had to spend his time at Catherine's, but he waved her off when Catherine's Pokemon walked out to the battlefield and smiled at Blaziken.

"Okay. Let's do it."

"You know, I'm surprised more people don't recognize you," Catherine said before taking a sip of her soda, leaning back in the chair she was sitting in. She and Ariel had gone to a restaurant a few blocks away from the house, leaving their Pokemon behind.

"Well, I doubt anyone's really looking for me with the whole Team Grim thing," Ariel muttered quietly, not wanting to attract any attention. Catherine shook her head, however, confusing Ariel. The woman continued to drink her soda before taking a deep breath and cracking her back.

"No, I mean the whole Elite 4 thing." Ariel tensed up at the mere mentioning of the Elite 4, a group she no longer wanted to hear about, nor be associated with. "What? You didn't think I knew about that, somehow?"

"I don't want to talk about it," the teen grumbled, her face flaring up as she did so. Catherine leaned forward and grinned at her child, who tried to suppress a smile, but she couldn't.

"Oh come on. My daughter was a part of the Elite 4! Why wouldn't you be proud of that?" Catherine inquired as she paid the bill with a smile, thanking the waiter for the great service, which was anything but.

"I lost my spot, that's why I don't talk about it." Catherine leaned back in her chair once again, not sure what to say to her daughter. Ariel did the same and both women rose from their seats after Catherine received her credit card, and they began to walk back to the house.

"It's nothing to be ashamed of, Ariel. When I tried getting back in, I wasn't anywhere close to being as strong as I was, so I didn't get accepted," Catherine admitted as she opened the door to the house and walked in, Ariel following close behind. "Think of it as a test. Sometimes you have to roll with the punches."

"Easy for you to say. You didn't have the pressure of being the only person under twenty." Catherine laughed at the response, agreeing with it to some degree as she plopped down on her couch and turned the TV on. "Come on, why do we always have to watch the news?"

"When you're the mother of two national targets, you'll understand. I want to see if there are any updates on the status they have for you or Owen. Speaking of which, I wonder how he's doing?"

"Knowing him, he's probably doing something stupid with that dumb blonde," Ariel joked while Catherine shook her head at the thought.

"This is what you get for taking my place!" Ariel and Catherine turned to look at the TV screen and saw a man firing several bullets into the head of an already deceased woman. The two trainers looked on in horror as the shots continued to come, and when they ran out, the man took a deep breath and grabbed the microphone. "For anyone thinking of attempting to stop Team Grim in their efforts to give the people a voice, this is what will happen to you! I am doing this for the greater good of the people, and will stop at nothing to achieve complete peace, even if it means killing my own family. Did you hear that Catherine? I'm coming after you, too!"

Catherine quickly turned the TV off and wasted no time in getting up and running into her room. Ariel, Blaziken, and the rest of Catherine's Pokemon looked on in confusion, not sure if what they had seen was true.

"Ariel, start packing your things, we're getting out of here as soon as possible," the worried mother ordered. Ariel got off the couch and looked around, seeing her mother throwing things into two backpacks before throwing them over shoulder and tossing one to Ariel.

"Where are we going?" the fifteen year old asked her mother as she zapped Blaziken back into his Pokeball. Catherine didn't answer, and she withdrew all of her Pokemon while grabbing a bracelet and a strange glass box. After hurrying out of the house and making their way out of the city at a breakneck pace, Catherine took a deep breath and dialed a number on her PokeGear.

"Hello?" the voice on the other end of the call asked.

"Owen, it's mom. Where are you right now?"

"Uhh... just outside Anistar, I think. Why?"

The call ended abruptly, and Catherine began to punch some random buttons on her PokeGear, grabbing Ariel as she did so. Before the teen could say anything, she and her mother were enveloped in a strange wave of energy before being thrown to the ground in a completely different area. When they stood up, Owen, Brooklyn, Daniel, Cindy, and Eddy were sitting in a circle around a fire with their Pokemon.

"So she just called you and hung up? That's weird," Cindy stated loudly while Owen's mother and sister walked over, nearly giving Owen a heart attack.

"How the hell did you two get here so fast? Never mind, that's not important. Team Grim's after you!" Owen screamed while running over to his mom, who nodded.

"I know, we just watched that live."

"Why would they do that?" Ariel asked Catherine, who motioned for her children to sit down. When they did, the woman sat in-between them and looked around at Owen's traveling companions who were leaning in closely. After taking a deep breath, Catherine scooted back and looked at the twins fearfully.

"They know me because... he's your dad."

WHAT!? Yeah, this was Frank's role from the beginning of the story, so I lied in some of my responses :P Well, next chapter will be detailing the troubled past of Catherine and Frank's relationship before and after the twin's births. Till next time, peace out. P.S: Chapter 58 "A Family Reunion" was scrapped.

Next chapter: Daddy was a Rolling Stone": Upon the announcement of Frank being the father of Owen and Ariel, Catherine details her past with the leader of Team Grim who has taken over Kalos. What exactly was Frank like? What the hell happened to him?
