Here it is! That's right, it's time for Ariel vs Frank, and damn, this is going to get intense really quickly. Only three chapters (not including this one) remain, and there's going to be some drama bombs dropping left and right. That's all I can really say, so let's get going! Also, I highly recommend looking up the music that begins to "play" during the chapter. It really adds to the intensity.

MCMXCV: Catherine's going to be reappearing in this chapter, which will answer your question, and I'm hoping Ariel can fight Frank long enough, too. And thanks, I'll end up posting the chapters I have done (I finished the Grim Arc a day or two ago) and once I run out of those I'll get back into the swing of writing

"Blaziken, Blaze Kick!" Blaziken rushed forward while his foot caught fire, and he swung at Dragonite's head. The dragon type, however, blocked the kick with his wing and threw Blaziken back to Ariel, but he managed to recover by landing on his hands and popping back onto his feet. Frank wiggled his finger tauntingly with a look of disappointment on his face, and Ariel nearly ran forward, but Blaziken managed to grab her before she could.
"For being so successful in your career, you sure are weak, Ariel. I'm ashamed to call you my daughter." The words sliced through the air, cutting Ariel and Blaziken swiftly and precisely. The two stood in place for a few seconds before the anger in their bodies began to boil, and the fifteen year old pointed at her father.
"Flamethrower!" Blaziken reared back and unleashed the strongest Flamethrower he had ever mustered, but Frank yawned in boredom while waving his hand to tell Dragonite to take care of it himself. The winged Pokemon opened his mouth and shot a wave of green fire that collided with Blaziken's Flamethrower, and the attacks exploded. A large cloud of smoke filled the air, and Frank took the opportunity to attack.
"Dragon Rush, Dragonite!" Ariel and Blaziken were caught off guard by Dragonite zipping through the cloud of smoke while he was surrounded by blue energy. Blaziken quickly threw his hands forward in an attempt to block Dragonite, or at least stop him, but he didn't stand a chance. Dragonite quickly launched him over the edge of the platform, and Ariel turned in horror. Before she could do anything, Blaziken pointed his face to the ground and released a Flamethrower, which pushed his teetering body back onto the platform.
"Nice thinking, Blaziken. Now strike with Thunder Punch!"
"Show them what a real Thunder Punch is like, Dragonite!" Blaziken sprinted towards Dragonite while the orange Pokemon flew towards the fire chicken like a missile. The two Pokemon both had large amounts of electricity radiate from their hands, and they threw their fists forward at the same time. The attacks collided and sparks of electricity flew through the air as the two fought back and forth before Blaziken prevailed and struck Dragonite in the chest. The dragon type was sent skidding back towards Frank, but he didn't look the slightest bit hurt by Blaziken's attack.
"Follow up with Sky Uppercut!" Before Frank or Dragonite could react, Blaziken darted forwards and struck his winged foe with a vicious uppercut, launching Dragonite into the air. Blaziken jumped up after Dragonite in an attempt to capitalize on the opportunity, but his kick was blocked by Dragonite. The flying type held onto Blaziken's leg while flying around in a circle at mach speed before he slammed Blaziken against the ground, swinging him like a bat.
"Dragonite, end this with Hyper Beam!" Dragonite flew directly above Blaziken and unleashed a wicked blast of orange energy that exploded when it made contact with the fire type, who screamed in pain as smoke covered his body. Dragonite gracefully landed on the ground in front of Frank and scoffed at his opponents, but stopped when Blaziken was revealed to be standing straight up, though several bruises were covering his body.
"We're not going down that easy! Blaze Kick!" Blaziken dashed forward and swung his foot at Dragonite once more, this time connecting with the dragon's face and knocking him onto his side. Blaziken quickly hopped on top of his opponent and savagely punched Dragonite repeatedly, but the Kanto Pokemon flapped his wings powerfully, allowing him to escape from Blaziken.
"Hmm... I think now would be an appropriate time to stop playing around. Dragonite, Grim Reversion Stage One!" the leader of Team Grim shouted while hoisting his right arm in the air, holding the black stone on his bracelet with his left hand. Dragonite suddenly began to roar while his eyes turned pure white and a thick coat of purple energy surrounded his body.
"That's weird, they're not going to that other form. I guess we're going to have to match them!"
"Blaziken, let's show them the strength of our bond! Mega Evolve!"
"Right!" Blaziken shouted as he suddenly began to transform. The fire and fighting type's hair shot straight up while the flames on his wrists turned to ribbons, and for some reason, he lifted his right leg and started kicking the air at light speed. Frank suddenly began to laugh at Blaziken and Ariel while Dragonite roared once more before punching his right hand into his left.
"Your petty Mega Evolution doesn't stand a chance against the power of Grim Reversion. Show them what I mean, Dragonite!" Frank ordered while pointing at Blaziken. Dragonite, who had turned to face his master, nodded and took off like a jet, slamming headfirst into Blaziken's stomach. The dragon attempted to pry Blaziken off his body, but the fire chicken refused to let go and grabbed a hold of the two strings coming out of Dragonite's head.
"Flamethrower!" the girl screamed. Despite Dragonite's violent flight pattern, Blaziken managed to keep holding onto his foe and struck Dragonite with a scorching hot Flamethrower, but the dragon and flying type didn't seem to take any damage. It was almost as if the purple coating of energy was blocking the fire, which Ariel didn't notice.
"Nose dive into the battlefield, Dragonite!" Dragonite stopped flailing about and he flew towards the battlefield before shooting straight down. Before Blaziken could let go, Dragonite turned his back towards the battlefield, causing Blaziken to take all of the damage while Dragonite didn't take any whatsoever.
"Blaziken, are you okay?" Ariel asked as she ran to her Pokemon's side. Blaziken slowly got back up and waved Ariel off, opting to not talk and instead continued to focus on the battle at hand. "Okay, use Thunder Punch!"
"Don't let up, Dragonite. Block it and use Dragon Rush!" As Blaziken reared back and swung his right fist at Dragonite, the dragon type caught Blaziken's fist and grinned maniacally. He then pushed Blaziken back and rushed forward while he was encapsulated in blue energy. Then, Dragonite rammed into Blaziken, who had stuck his arms out, and the fire type was pushed across the battlefield.
"Keep pushing, Blaziken!" Ariel shouted once she realized her starter was on the very edge of the battlefield. Blaziken continued to try and push back, but Dragonite's force didn't let up, and the two remained in a stalemate. Growing bored of the sight, Frank snapped his fingers and cleared his throat before issuing another command.
"You two are in quite the predicament. Blaziken can't let up on trying to push Dragonite back, so he can't use either of his arms to block an attack. That's a shame, because we were just getting warmed up," the father said condescendingly, making Ariel bite her lip when she realized he was right.
"Blaziken, pour all of your energy into pushing Dragonite back with one huge shove!" The girl commanded. Blaziken's eyes shot wide open when he extended his arms forward, but he didn't have any space to get away from Dragonite, who was still pushing forward at an unstoppable rate.
"This is where our little duel ends, honey. Use Thunder Punch and knock Blaziken out!" Both of Dragonite's fists began to glow with electricity, and he flew slightly upwards, making Blaziken trip over his own force, and then he struck the fire type in the head with both of his fists. Ariel gasped as her Pokemon fell to the ground face first and laid unconsciously. As that happened, Viviana appeared on the platform and smiled when she saw the state Blaziken was in, and then Machamp walked forward with Brooklyn and Daniel all tied up in his arms.
"So you beat them. Just as I expected," Frank said to his admin, who instructed her Pokemon to pin the two trainers against the tiny tip of the tower. Frank handed Machamp several sets of magnetic handcuffs, and the fighting type put them on Brooklyn and Daniel. The handcuffs instantly latched onto the metal they were laying against, and Ariel looked up in defeat while withdrawing Blaziken.
Suddenly, Spike landed on the platform with Gyarados, and Catherine, Eddy, and Cindy were all on the serpent's back. Once again, Machamp put the magnetic cuffs on the prisoners and they stuck to the tower. Eddy, Cindy, and Catherine were all conscious and they glared at their captors, who were celebrating the victory. They stopped, however, when Eddy spoke up.
"You're all dumb. Owen isn't here, is he? You still haven't won yet!" the eight year old shouted, making Frank and his admins laugh hysterically.
"Listen, kid, Owen doesn't stand a chance against me, and he knows it. Why else would he not be here?" Frank asked Eddy, kneeling down to look right into the child's eyes. The eight year old's rebellious look was destroyed by the question, and he looked down at the metal he was sitting on, making Spike and Viviana laugh.
"Should we get the camera crew?" Viviana asked Frank, who nodded. The woman quickly left the platform and left Frank and Spike with the prisoners, and Ariel, who had yet to be handcuffed.
"He's right, Frank. You better worry about Frank," Ariel taunted while walking towards the man. Without a warning, Frank pulled out his pistol and aimed it at his daughter, who stopped dead in her track and put her hands up, making the man cackle.
"You're sick! Threatening to kill your own daughter? Who are you!?" Catherine screamed at her ex, who turned and glared at her before smiling.
"I'm the last thing any of you will see, once I pull the trigger to end all of your lives." Silence fell over the group and Spike stood behind his leader, not saying or doing anything. Suddenly, the click of Frank loading the chambers in his pistol cracked though the air, and Viviana arrived with a camera crew, who quickly got positioned and began broadcasting Frank.
"Uhm, Frank?" Spike said to the leader as the red light on the camera turned on. The man angrily turned to his right hand man and glared at him.
"What?" the man snapped.
"I think we've got a visitor," Spike muttered while pointing straight ahead. Frank pushed the cameraman out of the way and walked towards the edge of the platform and stared at the dark figured flying towards him. The cameraman continued recording, and every TV in the Kalos region turned to the scene.
"Haha, I guess we do. Don't worry, everyone, I'll finish him off nice and quick," Frank assured Owen's traveling companions, putting his pistol back on his belt. He then walked to the other end of the battlefield, waiting for the figure to arrive. When it did, a Charizard slammed on the ground and roared powerfully before a teen hopped off the Pokemon, a look of confidence on his face.
"Owen!" Cindy exclaimed, trying to break out of her handcuffs.
"Let them go, Frank. This is between you and me," Owen stated. The man cackled at the command, and Dragonite looked over at his master while shaking his head at Owen's words. Much to everyone's surprise, Ariel charged at Frank and attempted to punch the man in the face, but Viviana's Machamp stepped in front of her and grabbed the girl with one of his arms.
"Let her go!" Catherine screamed at the fighting type, who snickered in response before handing her off to Frank, who put her in a choke hold. Ariel attempted to flail out of the tight grip around her neck, but Frank was far too strong for her.
"Why should I? You're in no position to negotiate," the man shot back at his ex, who attempted to break out of her handcuffs. "Don't bother. Those things can keep a Machamp in check."
Viviana's Machamp nodded in agreement with the statement, and Ariel continued to try and free herself.
"I'm going to tell you one more time: let her go," Owen growled as Charizard showed his teeth angrily.
(Emotional Music - Death Dance begins to play)
Frank looked down at his daughter and then back up at Owen, sighing as he did so. A hint of sorrow flashed in his eyes, and Owen's nerves were calmed until Frank did the unthinkable. With one swift motion, the man put his hand on Ariel's chin and snapped her neck.
"NOO!" Catherine shrieked while everyone else remained silent. The fifteen year old's body went limp and she hit the ground in front of Frank, who gave a deranged smile as Owen fell to his knees and put his hands on his head. Dragonite couldn't look at Ariel's body, as the sound her neck made scared him.
Eddy and Cindy closed their eyes, trying to erase what they had just seen from their minds. They couldn't, however, and their hearts dropped as the silence continued. Daniel simply looked away from the dead girl while biting his lip, holding back any possible screams of shock.
Brooklyn, however, stared at Ariel's limp body and then at Frank, who didn't look the slightest bit regretful for killing his daughter. She slowly turned to look at Owen, and tears were rolling down his face while Charizard stared in shock, his jaw hanging wide open.
"What's the matter, son? Cat got your tongue?" Frank mocked as Owen stared at his sister, tears continuing to roll down his face. Everyone, including the cameraman, stared at Owen and waited for his reaction. Slowly, the fifteen year old rose to his feet and wiped the tears off his face, and he glared at Frank.
"You know, I decided I wasn't going to kill you because you're my dad, but you're nothing to me!" he shouted while pointing at his father, who simply smirked and motioned for him to charge.
(Music stops)
"I never wanted to be your dad. In fact, I never wanted to see you live a day in your life. Imagine being seventeen and having to deal with a wife and two kids," Frank shot back. "Thankfully, I'm close to exterminating you parasites. Frank pointed directly at Owen and Catherine before continuing. "Hopefully you're more of a challenge than this piece of garbage," Frank spat before kicking Ariel's body.
(Epic Music Mix - Rage of The Dragon begins to play. Listen from 5:49-6:45)
"THAT'S IT!" Owen bellowed, his words ringing painfully in everyone's ears. The demonic tone behind his voice prompted Charizard to roar powerfully and he moved in front of his trainer. Within seconds, the winged lizard was engulfed in a bright light after he touched the two Mega Stones on his armband, just like Owen had done, and when the light disappeared Charizard had taken on his Mega Fusion Form.
"Holy shit," Spike and Viviana muttered in unison while a tornado of fire surrounded Charizard's body, and it was destroyed when the lizard roared. The ferocity of the roar was so strong it caused a gust of wind to fly in every direction, and Frank covered his eyes until Charizard closed his mouth. The fire type's body was covered in a bright red coat of energy, and the flames shooting out of the sides of his mouth were more intense than ever. Frank slowly started clapping while Owen and Charizard stood side by side and glared at him.
"I didn't think anyone else would've learned that, but I guess I was wrong." Frank looked over at Catherine after speaking, and then he looked at Dragonite, who had walked to his side. "Dragonite, let the hatred swallow your heart! Grim Reversion Stage Two!" Frank yelled while his bracelet began to glow black. Dragonite began to roar wickedly while his body began to change, and a thick black aura surrounded his body after the transformation was complete. "What are you waiting for, Owen?"
Owen didn't need a second invitation to attack, and he quickly pointed at his target in a blind rage.
"I swear, Frank, I WILL KILL YOU! Flamethrower!"
So, there are only two chapters left in the Grim Arc, and one life has been lost. Now, Owen and Charizard will be taking on Frank and Dragonite with nothing but revenge filling Owen's mind. Will Mega Fusion be able to defeat Grim Reversion?
