Make them proud and don't look back (A short manage of Owen battling his rivals with Chesnaught, Greninja, and Tyrantrum celebrating)
Stay strong, go ahead and attack! (All ten of Owen's Pokemon jump in front of him)
And when it's done, you'll move on... Pokemon! (Owen turns around and sees all of his old traveling partners and Pokemon)
This is the final chapter of the main story (I like to think of the leagues as their own little sub-story), and then there's only a little bit left until the entire thing is done! Last chapter, Brooklyn and Daniel won the Anistar City Contest, which was one for pairs, and now Owen and his mighty fire types will take on Wulfric! Let's get going!
MerlockVonnBaron: They usually do have battle rounds and five ribbons are needed to qualify, but I don't enjoy contests (most of the time), and having to write about two coordinators would've made me go insane
gigaman (guest): The Battle Frontier could be interesting, but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself while writing this story, given the roll that I've been on :P
guest: I wouldn't do that by accident ;) I've got something pretty interesting in store for you all after the league ends and the Grand Festival starts
Breana (guest): Diantha died a while ago, so Owen can't battle her :/ Even if she were alive, it's not a certainty that Owen will win despite this being (probably) the last region he travels through
MCMXCV: Mega Gengar will be introduced, though she and Owen will have to go through some complications to figure out how exactly to use Mega Evolution. As for Owen getting further than his previous leagues, I can't tell you (even though I have XD) anything about that. What I can say is that the end result will be very unexpected ;)
Guest: Of course I think I'm awesome! Just kidding, but I am pretty confident about myself and my writing abilities (when I really apply myself)
SomeGuy (guest): Really? I thought it kinda sucked, but I'll take the praise :P Closure will be coming soon, two chapters, to be precise, so Blaziken's whole issues with Ariel's death will surface. And Larenz will have a sudden (not drastic, but a lot less dick-ish) personality that will be introduced at the end of next chapter. I wouldn't be surprised if you rooted against him, but I think he's got a pretty heart wrenching story (it's not detailed because I want to save that for the Grand Festival), so I could see people being on different sides
Trentavious Phoenix: Well, it's kind of obvious Owen's going to win (given the fact that I've told y'all that the league's starting next chapter, and that he's using Blaziken and Charizard), and Wulfric's Pokemon won't stand much of a chance. I think the battles are pretty long (compared to some of the other gym battle match-ups), but they're very lopsided, and understandably so

"This is it," Owen said to himself as he stared at the building standing in front of him. The snow was coming down hard and he was freezing, but neither of those things bothered the teen in the slightest. Slowly, he turned to his friends and smiled confidently as he usually did, and they walked into the building in the middle of Snowbelle City. For being so cold outside, the inside of the building was similar to that of a sauna. Charizard and Blaziken both stretched as soon as they walked into the gym, and Owen and his friends took off their coats and headed over to the receptionist. After confirming his appointment, Owen led the way to the battlefield while his friends and Pokemon followed.
Once they arrived at the battlefield, Owen climbed the stairs and stood in his trainer box with Charizard and Blaziken by his sides. The four other trainers, however, sat on the bleachers and watched as a man walked into the room while a gust of wind pushed at his back. He was a bulky man wearing a large blue cape and he had weird, white facial hair. With each step her took, Owen's heart began to beat faster and the floor shook slightly. The man then walked into his trainer box and looked at Owen with an intimidating smile.
"Welcome, comrade, to the Snowbelle City gym. My name is Wulfric, and I am the gym leader of this fine city," Wulfric stated, introducing himself to Owen. "Oh, aren't you the trainer who saved Lumiose City? If so, I've been looking forward to this!"
"Uh, yeah I am," Owen replied, still refusing to speak about Lumiose City. "Do you mind if we start the battle?" The heavy man laughed at Owen's request and motioned for a referee to step forward. Once a man did, Wulfric pointed at him, as if he was telling the man to explain the rules.
"This will be a two versus two battle between Wulfric and Owen where only the challenger may substitute Pokemon! Furthermore, once all Pokemon on one side are unable to battle, the battle will be over! Wulfric, choose your first Pokemon!"
"Okay. Abomasnow, I choose you to go first!" the Russian man shouted while throwing out his first Pokeball. Owen and his two fire types watched as the enormous grass and ice type landed on the ground in front of his trainer and roared, and the teen turned to his friends and threw his five other Pokeballs to them. Each Pokeball opened and his Kalosian Pokemon sat on the bleachers watching the battle.
"Blaziken, you've got this," Owen said to the fire an fighting type. Blaziken nodded and hopped forward, doing a front flip before landing in front of Owen. The Hoenn starter then released powerful flames from his wrists and glared at Abomasnow while the referee looked at both sides before raising his arms.
"This battle will be between Abomasnow and Blaziken! Begin!"
"Abomasnow, use Rain Dance!" Wulfric shouted, hoping to weaken Blaziken's hard-hitting fire type attacks. Abomasnow slammed its two hands together and pointed them at the roof, and a large ball of water shot into the air. Then, it exploded and rain began to fall on the battlefield, angering Blaziken and Charizard, who both despised the rain with a passion because they were fire types.
"Don't pay any attention to that, Blaziken! Use Brick Break!" Owen commanded. Blaziken grinned and bolted across the battlefield while both of his hands began to glow white, and he started punching Abomasnow ferociously, sending the ice type skidding back several feet after each hit. Eventually, Blaziken finished the barrage with a wicked left hook, knocking Abomasnow onto its side.
"Quickly, freeze the battlefield with Ice Beam!" Abomasnow opened its mouth while still laying on the ground and it fired a zigzagging beam of light blue energy at the ground, freezing it instantly. Blaziken, meanwhile, slipped and fell on the ground, making Wulfric and Abomasnow grin victoriously.
"Jump and slam your foot on the ground with Blaze Kick!" Owen shouted while throwing his arm towards the ground. Blaziken did as he was told and sprung into the air while his foot caught on fire. Then, he began to spin like a wheel before his foot connected with the ground, causing to shake while a burst of fire shot forwards and hit Abomasnow, making the yeti cry out in pain.
"Abomasnow, hold nothing back and use Hammer Arm!"
"Counter it with Mega Punch, Blaziken!" Owen countered quickly. Before Abomasnow could even think about hitting Blaziken, the fire chicken struck his target with his glowing blue fist, blowing Abomasnow across the battlefield and onto his back. Wulfric watched as his first Pokemon got back on its feet in exhaustion, and he stared at Blaziken before snapping out of his funk and giving another command.
"Let us use Giga Impact!"
"Match strength with strength, Blaziken! Brave Bird!" Blaziken sprinted forward while Abomasnow was encapsulated in spiraling purple energy, and the fighting type jumped forward and sped through the air like a jet before being covered in sparkling blue energy. Abomasnow then took off towards Blaziken, and the two attacks collided. Both Pokemon battled back and forth for a few seconds until Blaziken crushed Abomasnow and sent the ice and grass type flying past Wulfric and off the battlefield.
"Abomasnow is unable to battle! Wulfric, choose your last Pokemon!" the referee shouted upon seeing Abomasnow laying on the ground without moving a muscle. Owen's Pokemon immediately cheered for Blaziken, and the fire type waved back to them.
"Wow, Blaziken's really strong," Eddy commented.
"Well, he was Ariel's starter, and she was really strong," Daniel replied before looking back at the battlefield.
"Blaziken, come back," Owen said to the fire and fighting type. "You were great out there," he said once Blaziken returned to his side. "Charizard, it's your turn!" The winged fire type stepped forward and released a blast of embers from his nostrils while Wulfric stared at the fire starter before thinking about his options.
"Hmm... Avalugg, you're my last hope!" Wulfric's second Pokeball opened to reveal a strange looking Pokemon. It stood on all fours and it looked to be made of ice, while its back was completely flat and there were indents in it.
"Avalugg, the Iceberg Pokemon. Its ice-covered body is as hard as steel. Its cumbersome frame crushes anything that stands in its way," Brooklyn's Pokedex stated, making the girl gasp slightly.
"Owen better be careful here. This thing just sounds strong," the blonde said to herself while looking at her boyfriend, who was radiating with confidence.
"This battle will be between Avalugg and Charizard! Begin!"
"Avalugg, use Avalanche to keep Charizard from flying!" the gym leader commanded. Avalugg slammed its front feet on the ground powerfully, causing a grey storm cloud to appear over Charizard, and several feet of snow instantly fell from it. Charizard, however, simply looked up at the snow and released a Flamethrower that melted the attack, saving him from any possible damage.
"Charizard, give 'em a max power Flamethrower!" Charizard reared his head back and unleashed a wicked blast of fire that zipped across the battlefield and made the room significantly hotter, so much so that everyone on the bench began sweating.
"Block it with Ice Beam!" Wulfric countered. Avalugg opened its mouth and shot a zigzagging beam of light blue energy at the Flamethrower attack, but it was quickly consumed by the fire. Avalugg was then scorched by the powerful attack from Charizard, but Owen continued his assault, not wanting to give Avalugg and Wulfric a second to think or relax.
"Now use a spinning Aerial Ace!" Charizard nodded and shot into the air before crashing down towards Avalugg. As Charizard began to spin streaks of light flew off his nose, giving him the appearance of a drill. As Charizard roared and continued to fly down towards his ice type opponent, Wulfric attempted to counter the winged lizard and his teenage trainer once again.
"Use Double-Edge to counter it!" Avalugg was instantly encapsulated in white energy before shooting forward and slamming into Charizard. The fire and flying type was sent back through the air towards Owen, but he managed to flap his wings and regain control of his body before landing on his feet.
"Are you okay, Charizard?" The winged lizard gave his trainer a thumbs up, making Owen smile before issuing another command. "Okay, use Thunder Punch!" Charizard zipped forward as his hand was covered in bright electricity, and he swung at Avalugg. The attack connected, and Charizard tried his luck once more with another Thunder Punch, but Wulfric and his Pokemon were ready for it.
"Bite his hand with Crunch!" Avalugg's jaw snapped on Charizard's fist, and the fire type cried in pain before realizing Avalugg had been paralyzed, and he turned to Owen while nodding.
"Perfect! Finish this with Seismic Toss!" Everyone in the room watched as Charizard lifted his heavy opponent off the ground and soared through the air. Eventually, he began to spin in a circle three times before crashing towards the ground. Just before Charizard was about to hit his head, he hurled Avalugg and flew towards Owen, and a cloud of dust shot around the ice type's body. Once the dust cleared, the referee raised his arms in the air due to Avalugg being unconscious.
"Avalugg is unable to battle! That means Owen is the winner!"
"We did it!" Owen exclaimed as Charizard ran over to him and they hugged. Blaziken and the other Pokemon joined in on the celebration, but stopped when Wulfric made his presence known by clearing his throat to grab their attention.
"That was an impressive display of power on your part. I didn't even stand a chance," the man said before laughing and rubbing the back of his head. "Here, this is the Iceberg Badge, you deserve it." Owen graciously took the tiny piece of metal and put it in his badge case, marveling at the eight badges.
"Now I can go challenge the Kalos League!" the teen announced while looking at his friends, who all smiled after hearing the news. "Thank you, Wulfric." With that, Owen walked out of the gym with his Pokemon and friends, and they began to trudge through the snow.
"Where to now?" Cindy asked over the howling winds. Owen quickly turned around with an unidentifiable smile, and he stopped dead in his tracks.
"The Kalos League!"
Finally! Now that the badge collecting is over with, I can finally start the Kalos League, and boy is it going to get intense. Well, that's about all I've got to say. Till next time, peace out.
