Theme Song

The dark has lost and peace has won (Owen and Charizard look out at Lumiose City from the top of Prism Tower)
Push ahead, go on and run (Owen hops on Charizard's back and Charizard uses Flamethrower on the camera)
Your family's gone, you must stand tall (Ariel and Catherine look like ghosts and put their hands on Owen's shoulders, and he's smiling while tears come to his eyes)
The love's still there, so you won't fall (Brooklyn and the others stand by Owen's sides, and they start running towards the championship stadium at the Kalos League/ Grand Festival)
Make them proud and don't look back (A short manage of Owen battling his rivals with Chesnaught, Greninja, and Tyrantrum celebrating)
Stay strong, go ahead and attack! (All ten of Owen's Pokemon jump in front of him)
And when it's done, you'll move on... Pokemon! (Owen turns around and sees all of his old traveling partners and Pokemon)

Kalos Adventure is now the longest story I've written, as of this chapter! Now that that's out of the way... it's time for the Kalos League! I've been waiting for this since beginning the story, and it's going to be the best league of all the stories, at least in my opinion. This chapter, Owen will go through the typical introduction chapter and meet up with all of his rivals once again, and the tournament will officially start next chapter. Now, let's get going!

MerlockVonBaron: Thanks!

SomeGuy: It was very forced, and that's really all I can say :/

Breana (guest): Well, there's always a chance of him facing them (he's technically battled two, three if you count Steven), though there's also a chance he doesn't

guest: He also met Red very briefly during the Vermillion City Tournament during Unova Adventure and Wallace when they battled at the end of Hoenn

Guest: I don't think it'll be giant, so to speak, but the winner could get a +5 or +6 boost

Defender31415: Kind of. You're right in the sense of him making it to the top 8, but that's all I can really say for now

MCMXCV: I want Owen to beat him, but at the same time, I don't think it'd be right for Larenz to lose the Kalos League (and I don't plan on having him win the Grand Festival, but things could change) given how much money he could make for his brother

ShadowDragon9000: I'm looking forward to it too!

Guest: In terms of character, my five favorite Pokemon of Owen's are (in no order) Charizard, Garchomp, Swellow, Zangoose, and Heatmor. Krookodile would be a very close sixth. Now in terms of who I just liked the most it'd be Charizard, Garchomp, Zangoose, Heatmor, and Krookodile

Owen's team for battle

Charizard, (m), level 73, Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, Seismic Toss, Blast Burn, Aerial Ace*, Thunder Punch*

Blaziken, (m), level 73, Blaze Kick, Sky Uppercut, Flamethrower, Brave Bird, Brick Break*, Mega Punch*

"Make sure you don't do anything stupid," Owen told his eight Kalosian Pokemon, who nodded as he walked out of the apartment after turning on the TV for them. With that, the trainer walked out of the housing complex with Brooklyn, Cindy, Daniel, and Eddy, who looked more excited than Owen.

"Are you feeling okay? You're not acting energetic or anything," Cindy asked the older trainer, who nodded calmly as he passed by several shops and made his way towards the nearest stadium, which was where his battle was taking place.

"Yeah, I'm really pumped, but I want to be calm for my battle," Owen answered with an excited grin. "This is probably the best part of every journey I've had. All of the battles are always intense, and everything's free!" As the group walked into the stadium, they took separate paths when Owen was ushered into the trainer room while Brooklyn, Daniel, Cindy, and Eddy were escorted to the V.I.P seating. Once Owen stepped into the trainer room, he looked around to see fifteen other trainers who had ben assigned to the same stadium, but they were all going to wait as Owen knew he was in the first battle of the day.

"Please, walk down this hallway and wait until you hear your name called," a man wearing an earpiece while holding a clipboard said to the Kantonian, who nodded at the man before heading down the hallway. Once he reached the end, Owen released Charizard and Blaziken from their Pokeballs, and they looked at their surroundings. "Let's make everyone proud," Owen said to the two fire types, who opted not to talk and nodded.

"Now, it's time for the first battle of the Kalos League! Our first trainer has competed in several other leagues and is no stranger to success. Please welcome Owen Plateau!" the announcer shouted to the crowd. Owen and his Pokemon quickly walked out of the hallway and waved as they were met with an explosion of cheers while the teen's face appeared on the large scoreboard lasted on the top of the stadium.

"And our second trainer, a master of dance, please welcome Fabio Bobbio!" the announcer screeched. Owen nearly broke down laughing at his opponents name, and had to cover his face when he saw his strange looking opponent frolic out of the other hallway. The man - yes, man - was wearing a pair of red leg warmers along with a headband that made him look like a fitness instructor from the seventies.

"Trainers, this will be a double battle where you may only use two Pokemon! Once both Pokemon on one side are unable to battle, the battle is over! Now, select your Pokemon!" the referee ordered with a microphone in his hand.

"Crawdaunt, Cacturne, let's dance to victory!" the man shouted while dancing and throwing two Pokeballs in the air. Owen watched as the two dark types appeared in front of their trainer and posed like models, making the teen and his Pokemon sweat drop.

"Charizard, Blaziken, you've got this!" Owen told the fire types, who walked forward confidently, striking fear into Fabio. The crowd cheered once again for Owen's Pokemon as their pictures replaced their trainer's and the scoreboard was split in two.

Meanwhile, in a suite at the top of the arena, the five champions from the other regions watched the battle carefully, not paying much attention to either side.

"Typical. Neither of these trainers have a shot at winning," Lance muttered while turning away from the battlefield. Wallace, however, turned the dragon master around and forced him to watch the battle. "Why do I have to watch this, Wallace? We all know the first rounds are pointless."

"I battled Owen almost three years ago. He's a trainer to keep your eye on," the water master stated boldly before turning to look out the glass. Cynthia also watched on in intrigue, remembering her battle against Owen, while Alder was napping in the back of the room. Meanwhile, Red sat in the corner of the room and stared at Owen, his eyes narrowing as he tried to recognize the fifteen year old's face.

The referee stepped forward and looked at both sides before raising his arms, ready to start the battle.

"Fabio will get the first move! Begin!"

"Cacturne, use Shadow Ball on Charizard! Crawdaunt, use Bubblebeam!"

"Blaziken, jump in front of Shadow Ball and send it back with Blaze Kick! Charizard, crash through the bubbles with a spinning Aerial Ace!" Owen countered, throwing his right arm to his side. The two fire types nodded, and Blaziken ran to his left while his foot caught on fire, and he slammed the Shadow Ball back at Fabio's Pokemon at a much higher speed than it was fired. Charizard then began to spin like a drill while zipping through the Bubblebeam attack, and all of the bubbles were popped by the streaks of light protecting Charizard's head. The flying type then plowed into Crawdaunt and sent the crab flying past Fabio with a pained expression on its face.

"Crawdaunt and Cacturne, use a double Feint Attack!" Both Pokemon grabbed each other by the claws and arm stubs, and they disappeared in the blink of an eye. Much to Owen's shock, the dark types slammed into Charizard. The fire and flying type, however, wasn't pushed back by the force, and he looked down at Fabio's Pokemon and released embers from his nose angrily.

"Well, I feel bad for this guy," Eddy remarked as Charizard grabbed both Crawdaunt and Cacturne by their legs, and he started swinging them around like rag dolls. Charizard then turned to Blaziken and nodded at the Hoenn starter, who prepared to spring into the air. With that, Charizard hurled both dark types straight up and Blaziken leaped after them.

"Slam them down with Brick Break!" Owen commanded. Blaziken nodded and his hands began to glow white before he smashed his fists over the heads of both dark types. The super effective attack did its job and launched the two Pokemon into the ground in front of Fabio, who smacked his hands against his face and gasped flamboyantly. Despite the power of Blaziken's Brick Break, both Crawdaunt and Cacturne rose from the ground, but they stared at their fire type opponents in fear. Blaziken and Charizard, meanwhile, looked on in confidence.

"Crawdaunt, use Hydro Pump in the air! Cacturne, fire a Pin Missile!" Fabio shouted. Crawdaunt opened its claws and unleashed a powerful blast of water into the air before crashing down on the two fire types, who scowled angrily as the water crashed down on them. Cacturne then unleashed dozens of white arrows at the two fire types.

"Blaziken, use Countershield tok block the arrows! Once he's done, grab Blaziken and fly in the air, Charizard!" Blaziken quickly dropped to his back and began spinning while releasing a Flamethrower attack. The whips of fire destroyed the white arrows and Blaziken hopped up before grabbing a hold of Charizard's arms as the winged lizard soared into the air.

"Take them out of the air!"

"Wrap this up with an Aerial Ace and Blaze Kick combination!" Owen countered quickly. Before Crawdaunt or Cacturne could do anything, Blaziken put his foot forward while Charizard began to spin like a drill. Spinning streaks of fire flew off the bodies of the two Pokemon and they crashed into their opponents, causing a blast of fire to shoot into the air. Fabio fell to the ground in shock as both his Pokemon were knocked out by the wicked combo, and Owen's picture appeared on the scoreboard along with Charizard and Blaziken.

"Both Crawdunt and Cacturn are unable to battle! That means Owen will move on to the top 32!"

"Hmph, impressive," Lance muttered, looking at Wallace as he did so. The water master grinned at the comment and nodded while the three other champions looked down at the battlefield. Alder and Cynthia both chuckled as Owen waved to the crowd and was met with an explosion of applause.

"I guess we were wrong about there being no one worthwhile," Alder announced before laughing heartily and putting his arm around Lance, who scowled at the older man's actions. "I don't think I've seen a trainer with such powerful Pokemon before!"

"He's a talented trainer," Cynthia informed the red-haired man. "His Garchomp was probably the strongest Pokemon I saw during the Sinnoh League," the blonde announced, remembering Garchomp's heroics in the championship round. While the female continued to speak with Alder, Lance, and Wallace, Red walked out of the room without saying a word. A small smirk crept across the eighteen year old's face once he walked down a flight of stairs towards the exit of the stadium, and he gazed out at the distance while Owen walked along the concrete with his friends.

"Nice work, you two," Chesnaught complimented the two fire starters as he and the other Pokemon sat around the Pokemon Park while Owen and the others had gone out to celebrate Owen's victory.

"Yeah, that was so awesome! If the league's as easy as you made it look, we shouldn't have any problems," Greninja exclaimed. Butterfree and Pikachu nodded in agreement. Charizard grinned and patted both Greninja and Chesnaught on the back while Blaziken simply nodded and walked away to sit by himself on a rock. The sun was beginning to set, adding to the somewhat cinematic scene of Blaziken by his lonesome.

"Blaziken," a voice called, making the fire type turn around. Ariel was standing there, smiling at him which she had barely done since arriving in Kalos. "Blaziken? Are you okay?" Suddenly, a pair of hands landed on the chicken's shoulders and he snapped out of his illusion. Owen was looking at him worriedly while the other trainers played with their Pokemon.

"Are you feeling okay? You haven't been yourself since the battle," Owen quizzed in concern. Blaziken shook his head, sighing after doing so. Owen waited for words to ring in his ears, and he listened when they did.

"It's just... I keep seeing her," the fighting type said, referring to Ariel. "She keeps calling my name and smiling, and then she disappears." Owen stared at his sister's starter and sat down next to the Pokemon, making the eight Kalosian Pokemon stare at their trainer.

"Me too. I'm never going to forget her, but I've been through something similar before," Owen informed Blaziken, smiling weakly while making eye contact with the Hoenn Pokemon. "One of my friends died when I saw in Sinnoh, and I went through the same thing you're going through now. It just takes some time to come to terms with it, and just remember that you're not moving on from Ariel."

"That's easier said than done, but thanks for the help."

"Anytime, Blaziken. If you ever have a problem like that or just want to talk, I'm all ears." The Kantonian teen patted the tall Pokemon's back as he sat up and walked away, but he stopped and turned around. "I want you to sit out the rest of the league so you can focus on this." He continued to walk away, and Blaziken simply stared out at the sunset, tears rolling down his face.

"Ariel, if you're listening, I hope you know I'm in good hands. Your brother's as good a trainer as you said," Blaziken muttered, looking straight up at the sky before rising and wiping his eyes with his arm. He then walked after his trainer's twin, and a smile crept across Blaziken's face.

"Ah, Red, it's great to hear from you again! It's been a while."

"That it has, Professor Oak," Red replied with a polite smile. "This may seem strange, but what do you know about Owen Plateau?" The professor smiled at the question, knowing exactly why the Kanto Champion had phoned him.

"He's strong. I wouldn't go as far as saying he's as naturally talented as you or Ash, but his work ethic more than makes up for it."

"Interesting. What kind of Pokemon does he have?"

"There are too many to really say, but they're all very well trained." Red nodded and leaned back in the leather chair he was sitting in. His four colleagues were still watching first round battles, but didn't seem interested in the lack of skill. "If you're calling for the reason I expect, keep your eye on him. He definitely has the potential to be a member of the Elite 4, regardless of the region."

"Are you still talking about that Owen kid?" Alder quizzed while walking over to Red's side, putting his arm around the teenager. "You've got to let up, Red. You don't even know if he'll get to the full battles," the oldest Champion scolded playfully before laughing and walking away.

"Thanks for the info, Professor Oak. Please don't tell anyone about this conversation, I don't want word getting out about this." The elderly man nodded and waved before ending the video chat, and Red walked over to the glass windows and peered down at the ongoing battle.

"There's no way that kid isn't winning this league. There's something special about him."

Well, Red certainly has high praise for Owen after seeing his match. As for Blaziken and his issues with seeing Ariel, they'll be brought up once in a while because I don't want to go overkill, and the Champions will continue to keep close tabs on Owen, though they won't appear every chapter. Till next time, peace out.

1) How far do you think Owen will go in the Kalos League? (Charizard and Blaziken won't battle again)

P.S: I have the bracket for the Kalos League on challonge, so here's the link "challonge El_Torro" (for some reason I can't include the "dot c-o-m", I couldn't even include it there, so make sure to put that in-between the two unbolded words! I'll see if I can post it on my profile, but who knows what'll happen?)

Next Chapter: "Mega Showdown": Now in the Top 32, Owen faces a challenge when he learns his opponent is capable of using Mega Evolution. Feeling the pressure, Owen turns to his own Mega Evolution, but is shocked to learn Gengar isn't able to! Will Owen and Gengar be able to overcome their super-powered opponents?
