Disclaimer: Sadly I did not write Teen Wolf.

I hope you guys like it!

One of the worst parts about being a girl is dealing with the emotions, and squeezing a baby out of you. Or at least that's how Avery saw it. She texts Allison after the incident at the school and gets a lot of that, the emotions thing that is, not the baby thing. Apparently the little talk between Allison and Scott in front of the school was not a good one and Allison decided they need a break.

Avery knows how to handle break ups. Her sister and friends went through a lot of those and she's usually the one to hold the tissue box or change the tub of ice cream. But this break up is different, because she has to console both sides. She knows right now she should be with Allison since she's closest to her, but she wants to make sure Scott's taken care of. She dials Stiles number quickly after getting together the last couple of items she needs for Allison and Lydia sleeping over.

"Hey Avery." Stiles says in a perky tone.

"Hey Stiles. I wanted to make sure you're on break up patrol with Scott." Avery says a little skeptical of Stiles good mood.

"Yeah I have the best idea ever. I'm going to get him drunk." He says like he just struck gold.

"Stiles, how on earth is that the best idea ever?!" She replies brining her hand to her head as though he can see her.

"Avery, this is how boys deal with their feelings. We bottle them up and drown them in alcohol." She can practically see him shrugging through the phone.

"Fine, whatever. Allison and Lydia are sleeping over my house so try to keep Scott from drunk dialing her please, at least not while we're watching the Notebook. That would be bad," she replies.

"That's the one movie you were talking about in the basement of the school," he says recalling that small bit of information.

"Yeah! We'll watch it together another night. When we both don't have best friends responsibilities."

"I thought you had your big date with Jake tonight." He states hesitantly.

"Oh" She says a little surprised he remembered that in the first place. "He canceled. He said he has to… study with Paige Adams at her house."

She has to admit that text definitely stung a little. She hates Paige and Jake knows it. Just like she knows that studying with a 'hot' girl at her house meant that they weren't really studying. At least according to Stiles it isn't. She's trying to stay optimistic though and pretends they really are just studying.

"Oh… studying? At her house?" He questions as though implying that Jake's cheating on her.

"Yes Stiles studying. He's studying at Paige's house. The girl I hate." Avery mumbles the last part out loud in spite of herself.

"Why do you hate her exactly?" Stiles asks surprised by Avery's harsh tone.

"She called me fat." Avery replies simply.

"Really? Girls are so mean to each other." He sounds way more shocked about this news then Avery expected him to be.

"Extremely, just in a secretive way so boys don't know and think we're bitches. She backhanded complimented me in the hallway when I was with Jake. Her exact words were: 'Wow Avery, that dress really hides your curves well. Good for you. I mean you're so stylish for a heavier girl.' Then she did that annoying hair flippy thing, winks at Jake and walks away. God, I hate that girl." Avery huffs out.

Avery knows she's not the skinniest girl around and standing next to Lydia she looks a bit curvier then she'd like but she is definitely not fat. She's typically a size medium and it doesn't bother her much since most of it is muscle from running but having a size zero like Paige tell her she's fat was a little hurtful.

"Wow." Stiles says snapping Avery back into the conversation.

"Yeah, well I have to go. I need to de-nerd-ify my room before Lydia shows up." She says with a sigh. "Bye Stiles." She says a bit sad their conversation is over.

"Bye Avery... Oh, and Avery?" He says right before she hangs up. She stops suddenly and smiles.

"Yeah?"

"You're not fat, you're perfect… I mean as far as far as body sizes go. Not that I've been looking—"

"Stiles, thank you. I needed to hear that." She says feeling warmth spread up through her cheeks.

"You're welcome." She knows he has a big goofy smile on his face right now because she does too. "Well I'll let you go un-cool your room." He laughs awkwardly.

"Thanks. Oh and text me if you need a ride. The last thing I need is the guilt of my best friends dying in a car accident."

"Deal. Bye." He says definitively.

"Bye." She hangs up and feels a pang of sadness before heading up to her room.

It takes her only a couple of minutes to shove a couple of movies back in there casing and into the back of her closet so she just waits in the living room for the girls to show up. When the doorbell rings she jumps to her feet and flings the door open where she finds a very annoyed looking Lydia awaits.

"Hey!" Avery says stepping aside to let her in. She enters without a hello then whips back around to face Avery.

"Is she here yet?" Lydia questions.

"No, not yet. Why?" Avery narrows her eyes.

"Because I have a very important question to ask you." Avery gestures for her to go on. "Do you think there's something going on with Allison and Jackson?" Avery's thrown off a little by this but definitely sees where she's coming from.

"Uh…" She says trying to think of something not incriminating to Allison. "I just think that they've become better friends but that's it. I mean as far as friends go they're pretty tight I guess but romantically no. Plus he has you and she has Scott. Or had Scott, I guess." Avery realizes that she's rambling too much by the look Lydia shoots her. "Either way I wouldn't worry about it." She says quickly summing up her thoughts.

"Hmm. I guess you're right." She replies slowly, folding her arms across her chest.

"Do you want to help me pick out the movies?" Avery asks hoping for an out of this particular conversation.

"Sure. It's not like I have anything better to do." She says uncrossing her arms and strutting up the stairs. Avery releases a breath she wasn't aware she was holding and follows close behind.

No more then twenty minutes later Allison shows up and all the girls are in Avery's room watching movies and painting each others nails. Well Avery is painting Allison's nails and Lydia is sitting at the vanity looking through Avery's make up and perfumes.

"Wow Avery you're good at this." Allison says looking down at her newly painted fingernail that has a little flower on it.

"Thanks. I'm thinking about quitting school and going to work at a salon… Just kidding. I'm not too good at listening to people's problems all day. Plus I've never even been to a salon so it might be a little hypocritical." She says with a shrug.

"Did I just hear you correctly?" Lydia says whipping around to face Avery. "You've never been to a nail salon?"

"Yup." Avery nods her head and Allison giggles lightly next to her at the look on Lydia's face.

"Why do I even bother talking to you?" Lydia asks rolling her eyes.

"Because you love charity?" Avery offers up making Allison laugh and even Lydia smile. Silence creeps over the group as Lydia and Avery glance at Allison.

"What?" Allison asks finally realizing the looks she's getting.

"Nothing, we just wanted to know if you're ready to talk about it." Avery states finally deciding to speak up.

"Guy's I'm fine… I just don't know if I made the right decision." Allison says to her hands. "What do you guys think?"

"Well, he did leave us for dead." Lydia says with a shrug.

"He left to try and save our lives." Avery blurts out without thinking. She's not supposed to be supporting Scott right now but she really can't help it. "Look Allison, I know he lied to you but he also risked his life to save us. All I'm saying is don't cancel out all the good for one bad." Avery says softly. Allison nods her head and continues to stare at her hands.

"Well this conversation just took a turn for the worse." Lydia states the obvious then sprays a bit of perfume into the air to smell it. "Avery, come here. Let me do your make up. If I have to look at you for the rest of the night I at least want you to look nice. Allison you're next." Avery shrugs and walks over to the red headed diva leaving Allison to gather her thoughts.

Just as Lydia finishes up on Avery's makeup making her look way pretty then she actually is, Avery's phone starts ringing. She looks down and sees it's Stiles calling and quickly hides the phone before Allison and Lydia can get a look.

"Um I have to take this, it's my mom." Avery says to the other two girls who nod in response. She runs downstairs just incase making sure Allison and Lydia don't overhear the conversation.

"Stiles what's wrong?" Avery asks into the phone.

"Hey Avery! How are you?… Wait don't answer that. You always say you're good even when you're not." He slurs his words and Avery suppresses a laugh. Stiles is totally wasted.

"Stil-?"

"Why do you do that?" He asks genuinely curious. "Why do you always act like you're ok?"

"Stiles do you need a ride home?" She questions further.

"Now you're avoiding the subject. You do that a lot too… Hey. How's Lydia?" He asks eagerly.

"She's great, actually I should probably get back to her she's still giving a makeover… Unless you need a ride or something."

"No I don't need a ride... You don't need a makeover, Avery." He says in a very series tone. "You have such pretty hair, it's like a pillow. And such nice eyes, even though they always look sad. You have sad pretty eyes and pillow hair." He concludes with a laugh.

"Thanks, Stiles." She says blushing profusely.

"Lydia has nice hair too. Its so pretty, so red." And just like that her blushing stops and the smile drops from her face

"Yes, Stiles. She's very pretty," she replies.

"Ye-" Stiles starts but then something cuts him off and there's a rustle then Scott starts to talk.

"Hey Avery. Sorry about this, I didn't know Stiles had his phone on him." He says in a depressed tone.

"It's fine Scott, really. How are you?"

"I'm fine. Look, I should go. I need to take Stiles home." He says in a tone that almost implies he's mad at her.

"Uh… yeah. Ok sounds good. I'll see you at school." She says and hears silence back realizing that he's already hung up. Avery releases a sigh and walks back upstairs.

The rest of the sleepover goes surprisingly well. Lydia gives the other two makeovers then raids Avery's closet while Allison and Avery dig into the ice cream. The next morning they all wake up and get dressed then head out for coffee since there isn't any at Avery's house. The whole thing is actually a lot of fun, and the group of girls definitely needs some bonding time. With Lydia suspicious of Allison and Jackson they barely talk and since Avery's been hanging out with Scott and Stiles so much she barely gets to talk to them too.

When she gets home from the coffee shop alone she decides to study for her test tomorrow and ignores the multiple messages from Jake. She goes to bed early and wakes up the next morning a bit haunted. She remembers then that it's a full moon. Only a couple of months ago… three to be exact, she had a sister and a completely different life. She didn't know Allison, Lydia, Scott, Danny… Stiles. She was an A+ student on the track team and had no idea of the pain coming her way.

She rolls out of bed and drags herself over to her closet. She knows that no matter what she puts on it won't be able to mask her lack of personality that she knows is going to come, so she decides to look extra nice today to cover the pain. She slips into a cream dress with a bird print, a burgundy belt with matching burgundy high heel ankle boots and necklace. She makes sure her hair falls in perfect curls and does her make up with extra care. She even adds some lipstick and blush to brighten up her emotionless face.

She glances in the mirror once before she leaves. Just as she expects she looks really good. On the outside anyone would assume she looks like a happy young girl. Only when looking closely can one see the sadness in her eyes, and the perfection of her makeup used to mask her ache. It's a perfectly executed plan to hide the pain with beauty.

She gives herself a curt nod before turning away from her reflection and heading downstairs. She grabs the lunch she made for herself last night, which is just a plain sandwich and a water bottle. She gets into her car with rigid movements and drives to school with her mind no where in particular. Only when she sits in class before the test does she realize that she's being watched, by Stiles to be exact. She throws on a nice big smile and turns towards him.

"Hey Stiles!" She says a little too perky. She mentally corrects her tone to a normal pitch. "How's it going?" She asks, while continuing to smile.

"I'm fine… Are you ok? You look kind of out of it," he replies skeptically.

"I'm great. I just didn't sleep too well last night. You know, studying and avoiding studying and what not." She gives a hallow laugh that he returns.

"Right…" He responds hesitantly and almost looks like he wants to question her further. "Well I just wanted to apologize for the whole drunk call thing." He says leaning forward on his desk knocking over his notebook. As he scrambles to get his papers Avery tries to think of something normal Avery would say.

"It's fine, Stiles. I felt like someone was showing me a picture of the lungs of a smoker or something. Just a clear example of why I shouldn't drink. Really, you probably helped me in the long run."

"Really? Well, ok then." He leans back and smiles to himself.

"Well, I'm going to try and get in a last minute cramming session." She shoots him one last smile before turning around and opening up her book.

Of course she doesn't really study; instead she just stares blankly at her book until Mr. Harris walks into the room and begins to talk. He goes on and on about needing to write your name on the front of the packet or something like that, but of course Avery doesn't bother paying attention. When the test begins she finally gets up enough will power to pay attention. She answers the questions with ease. She's actually feeling a bit more confident in her abilities when Scott gets up and runs out of the class. Stiles gets up as well and follows close behind him with Mr. Harris shouting his name. Avery starts to get up but freezes when she sees a tear slip down Allison's cheek. She has to be with her best friend right now. Avery reaches her hand out and puts it on Allison's shoulder. Allison turns around just enough to acknowledge her presence and places her hand on top of Avery's.

"Class, get back to the test." Mr. Harris says with a glare to the room full of his students. Allison squeezes Avery's hand gently then turns back around.

Avery blows through the test, sure she's going to at least get a B+ (thank God for studying the days before). The second she turns in the test though she feels the darkness of her mind creep over her once more, and it stays there for the rest of the school day. She almost avoids everyone successfully until Lydia corners her at her locker after school.

"What gives? You've been missing all day. I was about to fill out a missing persons report for you." Lydia crosses her arms across her chest and taps her foot.

"Sorry, I've just had a wicked headache all day. I think I'm just going to go home." Avery replies closing her locker and facing Lydia.

"Avery, you have to come to the lacrosse practice. Allison can't come obviously and I would rather die then have to watch alone. Plus a bunch of second stringers just got bumped up for first string so we get to watch them mess up." Lydia gives her a pouty look that turns into a smile at the thought of a bunch of second stringers messing up.

"Wait, which second stringers?" Avery asks hoping she'll say Stiles name.

"I'm not sure. I know that your dorky friend will though." Lydia adds popping an eyebrow up and watching Avery's expression closely.

"Fine, I'll go." Avery can't help it; her face eases into a grin of happiness. She has to find Stiles and tell him congratulations. Just as Avery's thinking of places to find him, Scott walks up to the two girls.

"Hey, Lydia can I talk to you?" He asks glancing at Avery for only a moment. Avery's gut twists in a not, at his cold gaze. She almost forgets that the full moon affects Scott too, and it's obviously not for the better.

"Sure Scott." Lydia replies flirtatiously making Avery's skin crawl. "I'll see you out there Avery." She adds clearly hinting for Avery to leave.

Avery rolls her eyes but obeys. What's the worst that could happen? Avery thinks to herself as she walks onto the field. She takes a seat on the bottom row of the stands and waits for someone she knows to come along. Luckily Stiles shows up seconds so she doesn't have to do that awkward thing where she pretends to doing something important on her phone when really she's just looking through old pictures or deleting messages. Avery jumps up and throws her arms around Stiles wrapping him in a tight hug.

"Congratulations!" She says into his shoulder. "I heard you're playing first string next game!" She pulls away but still has her hands on his arms.

"Yeah! It's crazy right?" He replies beaming.

"Yeah, it's crazy that they've taken so long to notice how talented you are!" She states looping her arm in his and walking him toward the team's bench. She's actually starting to feel a bit better.

"Thanks." He says smiling proudly. His smile falters though and he glances at her through the side of his eye. "So uh… really how are you? And don't say 'good' because I know you're not. I can tell when something's wrong with Avery." She knew this was coming but the question doesn't bother her as much as she thought it would.

"It's been three months to the day." She mumbles loud enough for only him to hear.

"Oh," he says understanding her for the first time that day.

"It just hits harder on some days. You know?"

"Yeah I get it." He nods in agreement.

"But forget about me… what are we doing about Scott tonight?" She says shaking her head to clear it.

"We?" He asks looking at her as they take a seat on the bench next to each other. Avery releases Stiles arm and puts her hands in her lap.

"Yes, we. I fully intend on being there when the full moon works it's magic."

"Avery, it could be really dangerous." He says trying to convince her out of coming.

"Yeah, it could be. And I plan on facing that danger with you and Scott. Really, Stiles you should just stop trying to protect me. I'm in this one hundred percent." She states with a stern nod. He smiles down at his hands.

"I'll text you when I'm headed over to Scott's house and you can meet me there."

"Deal. I'm going to go sit in the stands before Scott and Lydia get back. Do you know what he had to talk to her about?" Avery asks curious about the random conversation between the puppy and red head. When Avery notices Stiles hesitation she glances at him and sees him blushing.

"Uh… no… no I don't. That's weird that he's talking to her. Not that they can't talk to each other or anything, just that they don't usually talk." He pours out. Avery narrows her eyes skeptically and stands.

"Ok. I'll talk to you later then." She says and spins around to take a seat by Lydia. "What was that all about?" She asks the red head once she's fully seated.

"Nothing." She responds plainly with an evil looking smirk residing on her smeared lipstick mouth.

Avery decides to leave it alone since it's probably not that big of a deal and focuses on the practice. The second her eyes land on the field she sees Scott nail Danny in the face with his lacrosse stick. Avery doesn't hesitate a moment to run onto the field. She falls to the floor by Danny and sees he's bleeding everywhere. She gets up and marches over to Scott where Stiles is talking to him.

"You ass!" She says to Scott and shoves him.

"Whoa, Avery calm down." Stiles says and wraps his arms around her waist to stop her from charging Scott again.

"No. Stiles, let go of me." She tries to squirm out of his grasp but it doesn't work and she's in no mood to hurt Stiles to get away. "Why would you hurt Danny? He's been nothing but nice to you." Avery asks finally calming down enough for Stiles to let go.

"I don't care." Scott replies coldly then marches off in the direction of the locker room.

"Avery, what was that? You can't just freak out on him every full moon. I can only handle one werewolf right now." Stiles says rubbing the back of his neck.

"Whatever, Stiles. Just text me later when you're going to Scotts house." She huffs then turns around to walk away and notices everyone staring at her, everyone but Jackson and Lydia that is. They're too busy talking to each other about something that seems interesting, especially when Lydia whips out a mirror and fixes her lipstick.

She makes sure Danny's taken care of before she jumps in her car and speeds home. She decides not to change before heading off to Scotts house and instead lies on her bed looking up at the ceiling. When her phone finally rings she jumps up and answers a couple rings in.

"Hello?" She asks a little too eager to find a distraction from her depressing mind.

"Hey. I'm heading over to Scotts now. I uh… I don't think it's a good idea for you two to be around each other right now. Basically what I'm saying is, I don't think you should come." He sums up for her.

"Look Stiles, I'll admit that that was a mistake back on the field but I can handle this." Avery says practically begging him to let her come. She's knows she's losing the battle in Stiles head, by his hesitation so she continues. "I need this Stiles, I need to know what she went through, I need to know if I could have helped her…" She can feel her throat tighten up and takes a shuddering breath before she continues. "I need to help someone. I wasn't able to help her. Please, let me try to help you and Scott. Please."

"Sure… yeah I guess. I'll text you with the address and you can just meet me there." He lets out a sigh.

"Thanks. I'll be there in five." She says and hangs up.

She gets the text by the time she's pulling out of the driveway and hurries over to Scott's house. She parks across and gets out with butterflies in her stomach. She jogs up to the door and knocks a solid three times before realizing Stiles left the door open for her. She walks in slowly; scared that a movie pop up moment might happen to her but stops when she hears some rumbling upstairs. She takes the steps two at a time and runs down the strange hall until she comes to a room where Stiles is talking to a handcuffed Scott.

"…and giving you some payback for making out with Lydia." Stiles says standing over Scott.

"Wait hold on. Scott kissed Lydia?" Avery asks mind blown

"Yeah, I asked him to see if she liked me and he went to talk to her and ended up making out with her instead." Stiles replies brining his hands up only to bring them back down to rest at his side once more.

Avery doesn't really know how she feels about this. Obviously she feels bad for stiles but another part of her is saddened that he even wanted to ask Scott to check on Lydia's feelings in the first place. Then she's mad at Lydia and Scott… scratch that she's furious with Lydia and Scott.

"I can't believe this." Avery says shaking her head a little.

"Oh please you knew," Scott growls.

"You know and you didn't tell me?" Stiles asks with wide hut eyes.

"No, I didn't know. I mean I saw Lydia's lipstick smudged but I thought she might have yawned or rubbed her cheek and did it on accident or something." Avery says trying to defend herself from Scott. "I didn't know that lipstick does that after kissing someone… It never happens in the movies." She mumbles at the end.

"Wait. You've never kissed anyone before?" Scott asks with an evil chuckle. Stiles looks at Avery too, obviously interested in the answer as well.

"That's not the point here!" Avery spills out trying to avoid the very dry subject of how far she's gone with a boy. Stiles sees her squirming and jumps in to help.

"She's right." Stiles huffs then walks out of the room leaving Scott and Avery alone.

"How can you do something like that to your best friend?" She fires off and is about to follow Stiles out of the room but of course Scott stops her with his words.

"You should be thanking me. Maybe now you won't always be number two in Stiles eyes." Avery's thrown off by his words and turns back around. "Maybe now someone will finally want you." He adds in at the end with a glare.

"What do you mean?" She asks despite herself.

"Well Stiles doesn't want you, Jake is cheating on you, and from what Stiles has told me not even your dead dad wanted you."

"Hey, we're in the same boat on that one. Last time I checked your dad isn't on his way home either." She shoots, her blood beginning to boil. "And I don't see Allison here eith-" Her words die in her mouth as Stiles enters the room once more with a doggy bowl labeled Scott on it and a water bottle.

Stiles lifts up the bowl and pours the water in it and places it on the floor in front of Scott. Stiles begins to leave the room when the bowl of water goes flying past Avery and hits Stiles in back.

"I'm going to kill you!" Scott screams soon after.

"You kissed her, Scott. Ok? You kissed Lydia. That's my… Like the one girl that I have… The past there hours I've been thinking, 'it's probably just the full moon and he doesn't even know what he's doing and tomorrow he'll be totally back to normal. He probably won' even remember what a complete dumb ass he's being, a son of a bitch a freaking unbelievable piece of crap friend!'" Stiles voice rises to a shout.

"She kissed me," Scott murmurs.

"What?" Stiles asks looking genuinely hurt to the core. Avery can't move, she just stands there and watches this all go down, waiting.

"I didn't kiss her. She kissed me." Scott says with his evil smile returning. Stiles just turns around and leaves, finally having enough but Scott continues. "She would have done a lot more too. You should have seen the way she had her hands all over me. She would have done anything I wanted. Anything!" He shouts shocking Avery back into herself.

"Scott, stop. This isn't you, just shut up." She says holding up her hands.

"Like you would know about being who you are… you're fake, Avery. You always cover up everything with a joke or nice cloths when really you're just a depressed little girl. I can feel you're emotions you know? I know you're always sad and mad… and weak."

"I suggest you be quiet." She says taking a menacing step forward.

"Or what?" He laughs. "You can't hurt me, I'll just heal." He says with a smile then continues. "Stiles told me about your dad, and how he ran off and had a brand new family. When did he leave? When you were seven? I guess even then he knew you were useless. Incapable of being loved-" Whatever he was going to say next was cut off by Avery's foot being kicked into his gut. Scott lets out a couple of coughs.

"Someone once told me 'choose your words carefully because once they're said they can only be forgiven not forgotten.' I suggest you do whatever you have to do to memorize that, write it down, repeat it to yourself a million times, tattoo it on your ass, I don't care, just do it because tomorrow, when puppy dog Scott comes back and dumb-ass Scott disappears, your words will still be hanging in the air, and then you'll be at my mercy to forgive. But consider this a warning. I never forget and I rarely forgive. So I suggest you keep you mouth shut."

Stiles is waiting for her just outside the door. They stand there staring at each other for a moment. She doesn't know why but she assumed he wouldn't be listening, of course he was though.

"Did you really kick him?" He finally asks in a hushed tone.

"He'll heal, but yeah." She says with a shrug. Stiles face breaks out in a smile and Avery's mouth mirrors his. Stiles sits on the floor by the doorframe and Avery takes the seat next to him.

"Stiles, please let me out." Scott moans from inside the room. "It's the full moon I swear. You know I wouldn't do any of this on purpose. Please, Stiles let me out. It's starting to hurt. It's not like the first time. It's the full moon, it's Allison breaking up with me. I know that it's not just taking a break. She broke up with me. It's killing me. I feel completely hopeless, so please just let me out." Scott continues in a defeated voice.

"I can't," is all Stiles can get out.

Then all of a sudden Scott starts screaming from the pain of the full moon. Stiles runs his hands through his short hair as though Scotts pain is hurting him as well and Avery guesses that it does. She wishes nothing more then to help them both. Even if Scott's being a jerk right now she still wants to help him, but she can't. She takes Stiles hand though in an attempt to help him and it looks like it works. He relaxes his shoulders and holds onto her hand as though it's a way out of this pain. They sit there linked at the hands for a while until there's one last final growl then the sound of handcuffs hitting the floor.

"Scott, are you ok?" Stiles jumps up with Avery still linked to him. "Scott?" He continues to question and bursts through the door.

The two of them share a glance then look back down to the floor where a broken pair of bloody handcuffs lay. Stiles automatically turns around and makes his way out to his car with Avery following close behind.

"Where are you going?" Avery asks.

"I'm going to find him." He says looking forward.

"I know that but where are you going to look?" She questions further.

"I don't know I'll just drive around."

"Ok. I'll text Allison and see where she is." She says about to cross the street.

"Wait, why?" He asks curiously.

"Well, he went to her last time. Maybe he'll do it again." She shrugs.

"Ok, call me if you find anything." He gives her a short nod, jumps in his car and drives off.

Avery runs back to her car wishing she changed into running shoes back home. Avery texts Allison asking for her exact location, which she realizes might sound really weird out of context, and gets a response seconds later. Avery doesn't waste any time speeding down the road to where Allison is. She gets there in a matter of minutes and throws her car in park. She runs through the parking lot, her breath showing in the cold and she shakes due to her lack of a jacket.

She almost decides it's hopeless to look for him here when she hears some growling coming from the woods next to the parking lot. She runs as fast as she can in heels towards the noise and looks down into the woods to see two figures standing next to each other. She can see one is Scott and squints to see the other is… Derek… Derek! Her mind reels into hyper drive and she almost trips over herself getting down the hill. Once she's standing in front of them both Scott looks ashamed of himself but human, and Derek is smiling. Avery breaks out in a huge grin and throws her arms around him. He only hesitates a moment to hug her back, knowing that it's pointless to continue fighting it.

"You're alive." Avery says smiling into his leather jacket. She pulls away from the hug but continues to smile before her eyes land on Scott, who looks thoroughly confused by the burst of friendship he just saw. "You have a lot of apologizing to do." Avery shoots at Scott.

"It'll have to wait for tomorrow, he has to get home." Derek interrupts helping Scott up.

"Come on, we can take my car." Avery says leading the way back up the hill and into the parking lot.

They drive back to Scotts house in silence. Only when there in Scotts room does Scott actually talk.

"Thanks." Scott mumbles. "Wait, I… can't do this. I can't be this and be with Allison. I need you to tell me the truth. Is there a cure?" Scott looks hopefully up at Derek form his seat on the bed.

"For someone who was bitten? I've heard of one. I don't know if it's true." Derek replies hesitantly.

"Well what is it?" Scott asks all to eager to know the answer.

"You have to kill the one that bit you." Derek says causing Avery to whip around and face him. For all she knows Derek got the idea from her sisters diary, the one that Stiles asked her to keep away form Scott.

"Kill the alpha?" Scott sounds hopeless yet again. Avery just stands silently in the door way.

"Scott, if you help me find him I'll help you kill him." Derek states in a determined voice then turns around and walks out. Avery gives Scott a small wave goodbye before running after Derek.

"Hey! Get in the car I'll give you a ride home." Avery says slightly out of breath from the run.

"No thanks." He responds back coldly.

"I insist, plus we need to talk." Avery says her smile finally dropping form her face.

"This is going to be a long talk isn't it?" He asks walking around to the passenger side of the car.

"Oh yeah," Avery responds hoping in the front seat and starting the car up, "very long."
