Theme Song
The dark has lost and peace has won (Owen and Charizard look out at Lumiose City from the top of Prism Tower)
Push ahead, go on and run (Owen hops on Charizard's back and Charizard uses Flamethrower on the camera)
Your family's gone, you must stand tall (Ariel and Catherine look like ghosts and put their hands on Owen's shoulders, and he's smiling while tears come to his eyes)
The love's still there, so you won't fall (Brooklyn and the others stand by Owen's sides, and they start running towards the championship stadium at the Kalos League/Grand Festival)
Make them proud and don't look back (Owen hoists the Kalos League trophy over his head)
Stay strong, go ahead and attack! (Mega Fusion Charizard collides with a Pokemon covered in fire, and an explosion occurs)
When it's lost your bond grows strong (Gengar slowly gets off the ground and Mega Evolves)
Don't second-guess you aren't in wrong (Charizard, Sceptile, Zangoose, Garchomp, Heatmor, and Gengar appear next to Owen, smiling)
And when it's done, you'll move on... Pokemon! (Owen vanishes and a girl with gray eyes and brown hair replaces him)
Wow, eighty chapters. It's been a long ride, and it's finally coming to an end :( Moving on, last chapter was the performance round of the Grand Festival, and only four coordinators remain! Brooklyn and Olivia will be squaring off in one of the semifinal matches while Daniel and Larenz will face off in another. Also, Brooklyn started suffering from some random stomach pains that seemed pretty severe, so she'll be going to the hospital for a little bit. And just so you know, I'm currently working on Chapter 84, but the others will be released once I reach certain points (or checkmarks, I guest) in that chapter. Now let's get going!
Adverb (guest): Lol
guest: Thank you! I actually enjoyed these performances (I guess it's a combination of the Grand Festival and Owen's battle coming up), so it's good to see you liked them! And I will not be killing Brooklyn off, because that would just be sick, and she's one of my favorite characters (totally not biased towards me coming up with her)
Emboar-Man (guest): I know you didn't, I was just providing an emphatic answer, and Aerodactyl's respect of Daniel was briefly mentioned during his practice battle against Owen before the whole Lumiose City incident
MCMXCV: Thanks! And your gut might just be right about Brooklyn being preggers XD And Larenz will definitely be one tough competitor, though you never know if he'll win or not
Defender31415: Garcias, and I like the suspicions you brought up, they were fun to read. And those questions may or may not be answered, if they just so happen to apply to Brooklyn ;)
Breana (guest): It's possible. You'll find out at the end of the chapter ;)
Guardianboy: Which time? XD There was a brief mentioning of it when Ariel joined the group before Laverre City, so it could've happened then, if she's even pregnant
ShadowDragon9000: Yes! Awkward intro for the win XD
SomeGuy (guest): Haha, I was waiting for someone to say that, lol. And the end to your review sounds so... ominous XD The really unique characters will definitely be Gray's Pokemon, though the other characters won't be your typical cast like in this series
Blaze Falcon: Chapters 48 and 56 are the only times it was really mentioned, though there could be a few other times it was inferred (I think, I don't completely know, to be honest). And Olivia will definitely be a very tough challenge for Brooklyn

"Don't you think this is a bit much?" Brooklyn asked Owen as the powerful trainer pushed the wheelchair Brooklyn was sitting in. The two had just arrived in the hospital and were admitted immediately because of Owen's status, which was elevated exponentially after his league victory.
"Not with the pain your feeling," Owen answered quickly, which made Brooklyn giggle. "Besides, I don't want you doing anything that could make it worse." After reaching the room they had been assigned, Owen helped Brooklyn onto her bed and waited for the doctor to arrive, which only took a minute. After the man went over the usual boring things doctors said, Owen looked at his PokeGear and rose from his chair. "My meeting's in thirty minutes and should be over within an hour. I'll text you as soon as I can."
"Okay, good luck!" Brooklyn shouted to Owen as he walked out of the room and waved.
"So, Ms. Moore, you said you have been having these stomach pains a lot lately?" the doctor asked kindly, making the conversation seem more natural instead of like an interrogated.
"That's right."
"And you fell ill around two months ago, out of the blue?"
"Yeah, when we were traveling to Anistar City," Brooklyn answered.
"Hmm... We're going to need to do some testing, which should only take an hour or so," the doctor informed Brooklyn, who nodded understandingly. "Ok, I'll be back in a minute. Just sit back and relax." With that, the man walked out of the room hurriedly, and Brooklyn caught a glimpse of him running down the hall, which scared her.
"This can't be what I think it is."

"Sorry I'm late, I had to take my girlfriend to the hospital," Owen explained as he ran into a boardroom, where Charles Goodshaw and Red were sitting. The two didn't seem the slightest bit annoyed, and they remained silent as Owen sat down in a chair and leaned forward eagerly. "So, what exactly is this meeting about?"
"Well, it's mainly about how much time you'll be given to train before the battle," Red answered without hesitation. "I was thinking anywhere from three to six months," the teen suggested while handing Owen a complex-looking sheet covered in numbers and charts.
"I don't have a problem with that. I only have a few questions about the battle itself," Owen informed Red and Charles, who looked at each other with grins before turning to Owen and waiting for him to explain. "Well, is Mega Evolution going to be allowed? Will there be terrain like a grass or rock field? Can I still become a champion if I lose?"
"Whoa whoa whoa, slow down there, kid," Charles said, chuckling heartily at Owen's rapid-fire questions. "Mega Evolution is allowed, but you and Red can only use it on one Pokemon. The terrain is up for you to decide, and poi becoming a champion is for the league officials of every region to decide. It's a lot more complex than you think."
Owen leaned back in his chair and ran his hand through his hair in an attempt to calm himself, but it didn't work.
"I'd prefer the battlefield to be neutral, unless you think otherwise," Red told Owen, who shrugged nonchalantly.
"I don't care, I just want to battle," the fifteen year old replied. "Wait, what about all of the interviews and stuff? I don't want the paparazzi chasing after me." Once again, Red and Charles laughed before answering Owen's question.
"Don't worry, you just have to do three interviews. The first will be why you chose to battle Red, the second will be with Red, and the third will be just before the battle and how you're feeling. They're all simple and shouldn't be much of a hassle, if at all."
"Another thing, we're going to have to know each other's teams," Red told Owen, who fell out of his seat in shock. "I... wasn't expecting that kind of reaction," the world champion said aloud.
"In my defense, I've never been in this situation before," Owen shot back. "And why would I want to show you my team? You can counter it as soon as we leave here."
"Actually, it's a league policy. Red has already submitted his team to me, and you did the same, so if one of you were to change Pokemon, the other would be alerted and given the opportunity to switch one of their Pokemon," Charles explained. "So, Red, Owen will be using his Charizard, Sceptile, Zangoose, Garchomp, Heatmor, and Gengar. Owen, Red will be using his Pikachu, Snorlax, Venasaur, Blastoise, Lapras, and Charizard."
The two trainers nodded at each other and were handed three packets that were at least a hundred pages each, making Owen's jaw hit the ground.
"These are scouting reports on all of your opponent's Pokemon, though it doesn't include their moves. It's basically a summary of what battles they won, when they were captured, and what their personality is."
"How can you write that much about boring stuff like that?" Owen asked as he tossed the papers onto the table.
"I ask the same thing every year," Red grumbled while mimicking Owen."Charles, we don't need these. Throw them out." Charles frowned as he recycled the fat packets, and he plopped back in his seat before looking at both trainers.
"I think we've covered just about everything we need to. Your first interview about the battle will be next week, once the Grand Festival is over," Charles informed the teens. "Your Pokemon will also be interviewed, and they will be provided translators that they can keep." Owen frowned, realizing how brutal the interview was going to be now that Garchomp's ego and Zangoose's lack of motivation to speak were being added to the mix.
"Well, you're good to go. I'm looking forward to our battle," Red told Owen as he extended his hand. Owen nodded and shook Red's hand with a smile.
"Me too."

"So is everything okay?" Owen inquired as he and Brooklyn walked into the coordinator room with Charizard and Blaziken following them. "You're not sick, are you?"
"Relax," Brooklyn said, putting her hand on Owen's shoulder. "The doctor told me I'm fine, it was just because I was nervous and dehydrated," the blonde fibbed. Owen nodded, believing every word Brooklyn said. "It might last for another day or two, but it's nothing that serious."
"Good. I'm just glad you're okay."
"Aww," Blaziken said, drawing attention from everyone. The fire type looked around in embarrassment, and he laughed nervously. "What? I'm in tune with my emotions, unlike you savages," Blaziken joked, resulting in laughs from Charizard, Owen, and Brooklyn.
"So how are you feeling about facing Olivia?" Charizard inquired.
"I'm not letting her win. I don't care what it takes, I will not lose to-" Brooklyn stopped mid sentence and grabbed her stomach, drawing concerned looks from Owen and the two fire starters. "I will not lose to her." With that, the couple met their friends in the coordinator room, and Brooklyn went into the dressing area to change into her contest outfit.
"It's about time you two got here. Where were you?" Daniel asked, rising from his seat while looking at Owen.
"We were just thinking of some strategies for Brooklyn's performance battle," Owen answered as he sat down in the empty room. "Nothing too serious."
"How'd the meeting go? What'd you talk about?" Eddy asked while running towards Owen and his two Pokemon.
"It went well, I think. We just went over some of the rules, and we had to tell each other which Pokemon we were using. Oh, and we can only use Mega Evolution on one Pokemon."
"Wait, why would you have to say who you were going to use?" Fate asked in confusion, looking at Owen and the others, who shrugged.
"It's because they want both sides to be prepared for each other. Essentially, the league is trying to make the battle as even as they can, because it'll generate a lot more revenue in the future, and it could give them an even stronger trainer to replace a champion," CJ explained. "They do it every year, but some trainers just can't prepare for the pressure they face, or the skill."
"Well, we're still deciding on the amount of time we should practice, but I'm thinking it'll end up being five months," Owen informed his friends.
"Five months!? That's such a long time, though!" Cindy shouted, falling into a chair as she did so. Owen laughed at the younger girl's response before looking back at Charizard and Blaziken.
"I know, but I need to come up with some amazing strategy if I want to beat Red, and I think it'll take some time to get everyone on the same page," Owen stated as he sat down. After an hour or so passed, and Olivia and Larenz entered the room, the TV's turned on and showed Courtney's face.
"Welcome, everyone, to the semifinals of the Kalos Grand Festival! We have two exciting matches today, with the winners advancing to the championship, which will take place later tonight! The four coordinators that have made it this far showed incredible execution and confidence in their Pokemon, which has helped them win three ribbons! Now, let's introduce our first competitors!"
Everyone in the coordinator room sat in silence, and they waited for the first pair to be announced.
"The first battle will be between our second and third seeded coordinators, so that means Olivia Davidson and Brooklyn Moore will be up first! Following them will be the number one seed, Larenz Esplain, and Daniel London! The first match will start in half an hour, so stay tuned!"

After being escorted into the hallway, Brooklyn waved to her friends and they headed to the luxury box while she held two Pokeballs in her right hand. Smeargle and Amaura were going to be performing, and they were excited for their shot at Olivia. Brooklyn quickly inhaled as the crowd began cheering, but she gripped her stomach in pain, and she leaned against the wall as if it were a crutch.
"Please welcome our coordinators, Olivia and Brooklyn!" The blonde looked up and slowly walked out of the hallway, still gripping her stomach, and she looked around at the crowd that was cheering for her and her rival. Brooklyn then looked across the battlefield and saw Olivia waving to the audience before stopping in her trainer box and cracking her neck.
"This semifinal match will be between Olivia and Brooklyn! Coordinators, choose your two Pokemon!" the referee shouted while looking at both sides.
"Smeargle, Amaura, take the stage!" shouted while throwing two Pokeballs in the air. The aforementioned Pokemon exploded from the spherical devices and landed on the ground in front of Brooklyn, and they waved to the crowd.
"Sylveon, Goodra, action!" Smeargle and Amaura stopped their introduction when Olivia's two Pokemon appeared on the other end of the battlefield, smirking confidently. The two coordinators locked eyes as the referee raised his arms in the air, and tech crowd began to cheer while the scoreboard displayed the amount of points for both sides.
"Begin!"
"Amaura, cover their side of the battlefield in ice with Ice Beam! Smeargle, use Sketch!" Brooklyn commanded right off the bat, wanting to set a frenetic pace. Amaura happily obliged as she reared her head back and fired an icy ray of zigzagging energy, which hit the ground and covered it with a sheet of ice. Both Sylveon and Goodra began to slip along the terrain, causing Olivia's points to drop steadily, while Smeargle grabbed the end of her tail and used it as if she were painting a picture. The normal type then flashed white, and she grinned confidently.
"Shatter the ice with Iron Tail, Sylveon! Goodra, use Rain Dance on yourself!" Brooklyn watched as Sylveon hopped in the air and began spinning like a wheel while her tail was covered in shiny metal. The fairy type then slammed her tail against the ground, shattering all of the ice on Olivia's half of the battlefield, which made Brooklyn lose a quarter of her points. Goodra then looked into the air and fired a ball of water into the air, which exploded and caused rain to fall down on the slimy dragon, who started to dance stupidly.
"Damnit!" Brooklyn barked under her breath. "Build a wall to protect yourself with Ancient Power, Amaura! Smeargle, take cover and use Flamethrower off the wall!" Five large boulders appeared around Amaura's body, and they were slammed into the ground right in front of her. Smeargle then darted over to Amaura's side, and she looked to see where her opponents were before unleashing a Flamethrower against the wall to Brooklyn's left. The crowd gasped collectively when the Flamethrower attack bounced off the wall and encapsulated Sylveon, who cried in pain until Goodra stepped in front of her and used the rain to put the fire out. Both coordinators lost hefty amounts of points, and Brooklyn bit her bottom lip as a sharp pain in her stomach nearly brought her to the ground.
"Wow, that's incredible!" Fate remarked as Smeargle's Flamethrower continued to bounce off the wall, but Goodra continued to extinguish it. "Brooklyn's pulling out all the stops!"
"Goodra, use Thunder! Sylveon, destroy those rocks with another Iron Tail!" Due to the pain in her stomach Brooklyn lost her focus on the battle, and watched as Sylveon leaped forward and obliterated the rocks in front of Amaura, who fell on her back in shock. Goodra then roared powerfully before a bolt of electricity crashed from the sky and landed on Amaura, who cried bloody murder.
"Smeargle, defend Amaura by hitting Goodra with Ice Beam! Amaura, Avalanche!" Smeargle quickly shot a zigzagging beam of ice that struck Goodra, but the bulky Pokemon didn't seem fazed by the super effective attack. It did, however, stop the Thunder attack and provided Amaura an opening to attack. The ice type slammed her tail on the ground as soon as she could, and a pile of snow crashed down on Goodra, burying the pseudo legendary while also bringing Olivia's points down to half of what they were.
"Cancel it with Draco Meteor! Sylveon, unleash a max power Moonblast!" As the snow continued to pile on Goodra, a sudden ball of orange energy shot into the sky and destroyed the ice type attack. The ball of energy then broke apart and crashed towards the ground, striking both Amaura and Smeargle. The crowd cheered as Smeargle rose to her feet, clearly based from the intense battle, but Amaura was down for the count, having taken far too much damage from Goodra's Thunder attack.
"Amaura is unable to battle!" the referee shouted while Brooklyn's points were down to a sliver.
"Use Flamethrower on the ground, Smeargle!" Smeargle quickly opened her mouth and shot a wave of fire at the ground, and the flames shot upwards, burning both Sylveon and Goodra.
"Extinguish the flames with Rain Dance!" Goodra quickly released another ball of water towards the sky, and it exploded before a downfall of rain crashed against the ground. The Flamethrower attack was put out instantly, and Brooklyn's points were dropped to zero, causing a buzzer to go off.
"Brooklyn has lost all of her points! That means Olivia will advance to the championship!" the referee announced, making Olivia jump for joy along with her victorious Pokemon. Brooklyn didn't say a word as she withdrew her two Pokemon, and she walked off the stage.
"I can't believe she lost," Owen muttered as Brooklyn disappeared from the stage. He then walked out of the luxury box and made his way to the coordinator room without the others, because they didn't want to be around if Brooklyn was upset.
While she walked down the hallway to enter the coordinator room, Brooklyn gripped her stomach and cried out in pain before falling to the ground. As she tried to get up, there was another jolt of pain that occurred in her stomach, keeping her on the ground.
"Brooklyn!" The girl looked up to see Daniel running down the hallway before he helped her up. "Are you okay?" he asked. Before the blonde could say anything, she grabbed her ailing stomach, and the older coordinator helped her into the room before laying her in a chair. The two quickly turned their attention to the other end of the room when they heard a door open, and Owen walked in.
"Hey, I'm sorry about that battle," Owen said.
"It's fi- agh!" Brooklyn answered, grabbing her stomach. Owen scampered over to his girlfriend's side right after her response, and he tried helping her up.
"We're going back to the hospital. There's no way you should be in this much pain," Owen said as he picked Brooklyn up. Despite her protests, Owen ran out of the room and headed towards the hospital. Luckily, Charizard and Blaziken were waiting outside, and the teen placed Brooklyn on Charizard's back. "Charizard, I need you to fly to the hospital as fast as possible."
"No problem," the winged lizard answered before taking off at the speed of a jet. Blaziken followed after the group with his insane leaping ability, and they closed in on the hospital within minutes.
000
"Owen took Brooklyn to the hospital, at least, according to Daniel," Cindy announced as she read the older boy's text. "What's going on with her?"
"I don't know, but it has to be pretty serious if she's going to the hospital again. Two times in one day isn't good," Fate stated while the second semifinal match was about to begin. "I'll call Owen." With that, the fifteen year old walked out of the room and dialed Owen's number.
"Please welcome Larenz and Daniel!" CJ, Eddy, and Cindy quickly turned their attention to the two coordinators that were walking onto the stage, and they stopped once they reached their trainer boxes.
"Coordinators, please choose your two Pokemon!"
"Dragonair, Dedenne, let's give 'em a show!" Daniel shouted while throwing a pair of Pokeballs forward. As usual, his trusty Dragonair and Dedenne landed side by side and nodded at each other before waiting for their opponents.
"Meganium, Milotic, it's performance time!" Larenz shouted while both of his Pokeballs opened. Daniel frowned when he saw Larenz' powerful Meganium appear, and the grass type smirked at the two Pokemon he was going to battle.
"Begin!"
"Dragonair, use Dragon Rush! Dedenne, hop on Dragonair's back and use Thunderbolt as armor!" Dedenne quickly hopped onto Dragonair's back, and the dragon type took to the air. Suddenly, Dragonair was covered in blue energy, and it turned into a dragon's head. As Dragonair began to descend towards her opponents, Dedenne released a powerful bolt of electricity that wrapped around the blue energy, and it turned gold.
"Milotic, make a wall of ice with Ice Beam! Meganium, spin and use Petal Dance before crashing into them!" Larenz countered. Within nanoseconds, Milotic had created a wall of ice and Meganium was covered in a flurry of petals while his body started to glow light green. When he started spinning, white streaks of energy flew off him, and the petals started to revolve at a frantic pace. Dragonair then crashed through the ice, which slowed him down drastically, and Meganium charged forward before leaping into the air. The two Pokemon collided and Meganium quickly overpowered his dragon type opponent. Daniel turned to the scoreboard and gasped when he saw that he had lost half of his points, but he turned back to the battle and took a deep breath.
"Dedenne, use Nuzzle to paralyze Meganium! Dragonair, get out from underneath Meganium and use Outrage on him!" Daniel commanded after Meganium slammed his feet against Dragonair's body. Dedenne, who had been launched off Dragonair, bolted across the battlefield and rubbed his face against Meganium's, paralyzing the Johto starter. Dragonair then slithered out of Meganium's grip and began to glow orange, but Larenz was quick to counter.
"Grab Dragonair with Vine Whip!" the teen shouted. Before Dragonair could even think about slamming into Meganium, the grass type wrapped his vines around the blue Pokemon, stopping the Outrage instantly. "Now use Ice Beam, Milotic!" Daniel could only watch as Dragonair was hit by a wintery blast of energy that made him cry out in pain, but Dragonair managed to stay conscious while Deanne scampered over towards Milotic, though no one except Daniel noticed.
"Dedenne, Thunderbolt!"
"Grab him with your vines, too!" As Dedenne attempted to electrocute Milotic, Meganium fired another vine towards the electric and fairy type. Daniel gasped in shock as Dedenne was snatched out of the air and slammed against the ground, and the crowd began to cheer for Larenz and his impressive Pokemon.
"Dragonair, break free with Outrage! Dedenne, use Thunderbolt!" Both Dragonair and Dedenne performed their attacks, but Meganium didn't let go, despite being paralyzed. After watching Daniel's Pokemon fail in their attempt to break free, Larenz cleared his throat and pointed straight ahead.
"Meganium, throw them both against the ground! Milotic, finish this with Ice Beam!" Without hesitation, Meganium slammed both Dragonair and Dedenne against the ground, making both Pokemon lie on the ground while holding their heads in pain. Milotic then released a wicked Ice Beam and struck both Pokemon, dropping Daniel's points to zero.
"Daniel has run out of points! That means Larenz will be advancing to the championship, where he will face Olivia!"
000
"Hmm... so you're sure the pain is only getting worse?" the doctor asked Brooklyn, who was lying on a hospital bed. She nodded, holding Owen's hand while the teen was sitting next to her. "Well, I don't know how to say this, Ms. Moore, but we have received your results from earlier this morning," the doctor announced ominously.
"Is she sick? What is it? Is it fatal?" Owen interrogated until the doctor held his hand up, making Owen shut his mouth. The two teens clenched their hands together and waited for the doctor to explain what the problem was, and he cleared his throat.
"You're pregnant."
WHAT!? Wow, things have taken a very sharp turn from what they were just a few chapters ago (even though most of you predicted it) So, Brooklyn and Daniel both lost in the semifinals to Olivia and Larenz, respectively, and now Brooklyn is pregnant. It looks like Owen has a little, "added incentive" (that's the name of the title, lol) to train for his upcoming battle with Red. How will things shake up? Till next time, peace out.
Just a little note about the whole pregnancy thing: Brooklyn randomly being ill the chapter Gengar evolved was not a coincidence. That was the beginning sign of her pregnancy
Next Chapter: "Molding a Winner": Four months after the birth of his child and returning to Laverre City, Owen decides to take a trip into the woods with his six Pokemon in an attempt to build a sense of unity before their duel with Red. Will his plan succeed?
