Chapter 5: Powers
4 months Later , November 16th , 2033
4 months had passed since Rorik arrived at Camp Half-Blood. 4 months since that capture the flag game. 4 months since he met Erin. Rorik had fallen into a daily routine. He would wake up and go to breakfast with the rest of Hermes cabin. After breakfast he would wake up with some sword practice. Rorik had vastly improved his combat skills since capture the flag. Now he could dodge, block, roll, and do another dozen different maneuvers with his swords. 3rd on his list was archery lessons with Erin. Over the weeks Rorik had found that no mattered how much he concentrated Rorik could barely even manage to hit the target. Since they both saw it was pointless, they would mostly just joke around in the forest where Rorik's 'lesson' was supposed to be held. Rorik had no problem with this at all. Just being around Erin seemed to help him calm down and make him a little happier. Rorik was now on his way to meet Erin for their archery 'lesson'.
"Hello ? Erin ? You here ? "Rorik called as he walked into the clearing in the woods where they met for archery. Little did he know that Erin was watching and waiting for the right time to pounce. Rorik, Erin and Alejandro had a joke that Rorik could be surprised by anything, anywhere, anytime. So Erin and Alejandro tried to prove it whenever possible even though Rorik denied the fact to be true.
Erin sprang from her hiding spot 15 feet up a pine and tuck and rolled into a tackle pining Rorik.
"Di Immortales !" Rorik yelled out of surprise, "Erin, do you have to do this anytime you can ?"
"Yes" Erin replied with a smug and triumphant smile on her face. Her hair blowing slightly from the wind."Gods she's beautiful" Rorik thought.
"And are you going to get off me ?" He asked. Even though he knew the answer.
"Hmmm. I don't know. You seemed pretty surprised to me. Maybe you should stay and calm down"
"Alright, since you aren't getting off anytime soon." Rorik said as he completely lifted Erin off of him and putting her on his shoulder.
"Put me down ! Put me down !" Erin managed to yell in between laughs. Though she was quite strong, Rorik could easily overpower her. Since arriving at Camp Half-Blood Rorik had only increased in strength. He was already massive for a 15 year old, and that only added to his strength. Now he was nearly 6ft, had strong shoulders and muscular arms that reflected months practicing sword fighting.
"Ugh, Why do you have to be so strong ?" She pouted while being held bridal style by Rorik. That fact that she was being held in his arms slowly dawned on her and she began blushing a bright red.
"Ya know, most people wouldn't complain to the person holding them up in the air." Rorik said in a joking tone letting her down. "Fine, come on. Lets talk about tonight". Erin had been planning to perform at the bonfire that night.
"Alright. What do you want to know? " She asked as they walked.
"Well, what song are you gon- ?" Rorik paused mid-sentence. There was a rustling in the bushes, " Do you hear that ?"
"Yeah" Replied Erin, cautiously drawing her bow and notching an arrow. "It sounded large
"Come on. Lets get back to camp" Rorik suggested. They began running back to camp. As they neared Zeus's Fist they discovered the source of the noise . Hellhounds. There were two. One leapt on Rorik and pinned him to the ground trying to rip his throat out and the other charged Erin. Rorik was struggling under the hellhound and managed to draw one of his sword with one hand and while holding back the hellhounds jaws with the other. Then a terrible thought occurred to Rorik. Erin was facing a hellhound straight on with just a knife. Her bow had been sent flying by the hellhound when they jumped out. He had to help Erin. Rorik worked his sword up under the beasts neck and slit it throat. As he turned to help Erin, Rorik shocked with fear. Erin was feebly fending off the hellhound by waving her knife with one arm and the other was clutching her side where blood was seeping out of a terrible wound across her stomach. Rorik felt like time was happening in slow motion as he ran to try to help the beautiful daughter of Apollo. Erin fell backwards on a tree root and the savage animal from Hades prepared to kill her. Rorik felt a strange and wicked sense of déjà vu. Then one of the of the most important event of Rorik's life took place. Rorik shouted.
"FUS RO DAH !" Rorik exclaimed without even knowing what he was saying. To his surprise he found the hellhound flying backwards. Rorik wasted no time in advancing on the beast and killing it while it was down. Next he sprinted over to Erin who was barely conscience.
"Erin ? Erin ? " Rorik said panicky.
" *cough* *cough* You can't lose me that easily." She said weakly with a faint smile.
"Come on you're gonna be fine" He whispered to her repeatedly. Trying to convince himself as well as Erin. He picked her up bridal style and started to run to the Medical Tent. (AN , I can't come up with a better name , shoot me).
