Yo! Naruko Sasuke! You got gifts!
Naruko- Gift!?
Sasuke- What kind of gift?
Me- *Gives Naruko ramen and Sasuke his bento*
Naruko- RAMEN!
Sasuke- *eats some* … not bad...
Me- That means he likes it.
Naruko- ish is gud!
Sasuke-...
Me- Oh and Jiraiya!
Jiraiya- Huh?
Me- Pineapples.
Jiraiya- …
Me- … o-k? Anyway! Naruko go ahead and start us off.
Naruko- sure sure.
Naruko-
It was aggravating. I usually excel at everything. Hand to hand combat, gen jutsu, history, strategy, kunai throwing, archery, sword fighting, setting and avoiding traps. Hell, it only took me a week or two to master using the strings and wires. And with all that training, all my experience.
WHY CAN'T I SUMMON A PROPER FROG!?
I glared hard at the ground. Jiraiya was looking through some bushes behind me. I kicked the dirt in frustration. I bit my finger again, drawing blood.
"Again." I muttered, slamming my hand into the ground to summon another frog. And again, I groaned loudly at the tad pole in front of me. Then I looked back at Jiraiya. "A little help here!" I screamed. He stumbled, falling back and glaring at me.
"What!?" He growled. I pointed angrily at the tad pole. Jiraiya chuckled. "Hey, it has legs this time." He teased.
"It's not funny! This is unacceptable!" I stomped.
"Ok, ok. Calm down." he muttered. I fumed, dispelling the frog. "The little Princess has finally found something she can't do." He laughed, standing and looking down at me. I kicked his leg and he gripped it hard.
"Don't call me that!" I growled.
Jiraiya-
Naruko was having trouble. She was frustrated, she was tired and cranky. She was angry at herself and taking it out on me since I was the only person there. I closed the scroll and stood.
"Come on, let's call it a day." I said. She just looked even more frustrated.
"What? Why? No! Not until I get it right!" She tried to summon a frog again. It came out a tad pole with arms and legs. Not a frog, she dispelled it and slammed her fist into a tree. She turned her whole body to face me and buried her nose in the fluffy collar of her sweater.
"Wanna call it a day?" I asked again. She nodded slightly and followed me back into town. I shook my head as she kept her eyes glaring at the ground. I knew her problem, she wasn't treating it as a life or death situation, she still thought of the chunnin exams as a childish game, something she was taking part of for something similar to publicity. If something dangerous were to happen, she might get serious.
I think I have a plan that just might work in her favor.
Sasuke-
It was hell training with Kakashi. I had been sparring with him for a while now and it's wearing me out. I can only use he Chidori once in a battle and it's pissing me off. How weak I am I mean. And I needed to get stronger, Itachi might come back for Naruko, to take her back to the Akutsuki. On top of all this, I couldn't help but get the feeling I was being watched.
"Sasuke, go try the Chidori on the rock over there." Kakashi pointed to a large rock, I rolled my eyes and walked over.
I had a strange feeling Kakashi wasn't even watching me.
Kakashi-
I could feel him watching from behind the rock, as if he was waiting for a moment to strike. I could sense the killer intent, but he didn't try to make a move. He was behind that rock over there, opposite the one I had Sasuke practicing on. Maybe a few yards off. I looked back to Sasuke, wondering what he did to get Gaara, the boy behind the rock, angry like this. I just sighed and shook my head, looking over as Sasuke smashed the rock into pieces.
"Not good enough..." he huffed. "Still not good enough." he went to try again but the jutsu flustered and blew up in his hands from lack of chakra. I sighed again.
"Why don't we call it a day." I rubbed my head.
Naruko-
Something is wrong.
Something is defiantly wrong here.
I'm almost positive Jiraiya is being uncharacteristically generous. Not that I'm complaining, it's just that I feel he's up to something. We were currently sitting at an expensive restaurant eating expensive amounts of food. My favorite food I might add. He wasn't eating. He was just sitting there, telling me to enjoy the meal like it was my last. And if that wasn't suspicious, I don't know what is. I ate until I was full and then he did something that furthered my suspicions.
He bought me ice cream. Again, I'm not complaining. It's just strange.
We broke it in half like we normally did and ate it together. I would glance at him occasionally and I swore his eyes held just the tiniest hint of sadness. Did something happen that I wasn't aware of? To Tsunade? To Sasuke? To Konohamaru? Sakura maybe? My head was spinning with worry as we walked to a new training spot. Was one of them hurt? Dead? In a fatal condition?
Jiraiya turned to me and I looked around this new training place. It was near a chasm with jagged rocks sticking out the inside. A river sat below, anyone would die if they fell. It was the ideal place to train concentration. Or at least that's what I think.
"What's next?" I asked Jiraiya. He just yawned.
"Let me see your strings." he said. I handed them over and looked up at him.
"What now?" I asked, ready, and yes, even a little bit eager, to train some more, to get stronger.
"Naruko... I hope you'll forgive me." He smiled, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Forgive you? Stop talking nonsense." I batted his hand away and smiled; but he put both hands on my shoulders now.
Something was DEFINANTLY wrong.
Jiraiya-
I looked down at Naruko, no doubt she would hold a grudge against me for this. But it was the only way. I lifted her off the ground.
"Jiraiya?" She looked at me curiously, worriedly.
"Sorry." I said, throwing her up into the air above the chasm. She let out a blood-curdling, heart-wrenching, scream when she fell into the chasm. "Sorry." I said again, hoping she would understand.
Naruko-
I was screaming and falling all at once. What was the big idea? Was I wrong to trust Jiraiya? Did he really want me dead? I looked down at the chasm that was speeding towards me. No. I was speeding towards it. If I didn't do something. If I didn't... I would surely die. I bit my finger and did a hand sign.
"Dieing? That's unacceptable." I muttered, "Summoning Jutsu!" I yelled with all my might, there was a puff of smoke, a large puff of smoke. I felt myself being held up.
I couldn't believe it. It was a frog. And not just any frog, a frog big enough to make this chasm look like a medium sized crack in the ground.
"Who the hell called me out in here!?" A loud voice boomed. I stood, it was a large frog with a smoking pipe sticking out of his mouth.
"I did." I said in my cold tone.
"You? Little girl? Don't make me laugh!" He chuckled.
"Well, I called you out here. Believe me or not. Just get me out of here." I demanded. The frog laughed some.
"Very well. Only because I'm hurting like this." The frog pushed itself off the rocky chasm wallas and jumped high into the air. Naruko remained cross-legged on the frog, angrily staring down when she saw Jiraiya.
Jiraiya-
Naruko was sitting on top of the most powerful frog summon. She glared down at me. I waved to her.
"Hey! You did it!" I said, trying to lighten the dark atmosphere around her.
"I could've died." She growled. "What if I didn't do anything? Would you have saved me?" She snapped. I winced.
"I knew you could do it." I smiled truthfully. Naruko's gaze softened, but she still kept her cold stature.
"Oi, oi, Jiraiya! What's the big idea! Summoning me." The boss frog growled.
"Naruko summoned you." I motioned to the blond haired girl on his head. He made a noise of amusement.
"Naruko, huh?" he snickered.
"What of it? Why don't you tell me your name, frog." Naruko said calmly.
"Rude little brat. You call me Boss." the large frog snapped. I could see Naruko's eye twitch. That wasn't a good move he just made.
Naruko-
This frog. This over grown swap hopper. Thinks it can be the boss of me!? I stood.
"First up. If you're the boss, then I must be god for having to summon you." I snapped back. The frog glared up at me.
"So you think you're stronger than me? Little girl?"
"I don't think. I know." I grinned.
"Care to make a wager?"
"Gladly."
"If you can stay on my back until the sun goes down, I'll respect you as an equal." he said. I nodded.
"And if I fall I'll except you as my superior." I grinned slightly, sitting back down.
"Ready?"
"As I'll ever be."
So, for the rest of the day I stayed on his back, my chakra ran low so I had to hold on, but it was getting tiring. I was drifting in and out of sleep, one close call after the next.
"Ready to give up?" the frog asked.
"Not in the least." I winced as he hit the ground hard again. I saw the sun just about to fall in the distance. My vision blurred. I used up to much energy.
Everything went black.
Jiraiya-
I watched as Naruko roll off the frogs back. Boss turned and caught her, setting her back on his back as the sun went down.
"Hmm? What's this? Going soft?" I asked.
"Shut up. She earned it. This is a good student you have." He sighed. "I'll be going now." he poof-ed away, Naruko landed in my arms and yawned, trying to get comfortable.
"Well, we should head back tomorrow, it's a few days going back to Konoha. I'm sure you'll agree to training along the way." I said, walking back to the town. "Almost time for the chunnin exam finals after all."
Was it short? I don't think so.
Naruko- Kyaa! I missed this room! Hm? Oi! Author-chan! There's white and yellow fur everywhere!
Me- Oh! That! Sora and Raiden were shedding.
Sasuke- Sora, Raiden?
Me- characters in a story I'm writing. Sora's a cat. So is Raiden. Then there's Arrow and Akio, they're humans.
Gaara- I thought you were trying to focus.
Sasuke- that's true. Then you ran off to Kentucky for a week and haven't written since you got back.
Me- It was a Youth Conference! Church related! Baka! I thought you didn't like my stories anyway!
Naruko- Leave her alone Sasuke! Hey, Author-chan! Was the KFC Yum center big?
Gaara- Author-san, we're getting off topic.
Me- Oh! Yeah, we are. Any way, I'm working on a Fairy Tail story, thank-you-very-much!
Sasuke- oh joy. Can't you finish this first.
Me- Shut up! Gaa-chan! Beat him up.
Gaara- …
Naruko- Well, I guess that's us signing off! Bye bye!
