Rorik POV

The city of Cincinnati was unlike anything Erin or Alejandro had ever seen. Rorik, having passed through many cities ,including this one on his way to camp, was used to them. The skyline towed over them, the massive model tiara on top of the Bank of America building stood above the rest. If there was one thing unique about this place it was that it went from dense hills and forests to skyscrapers and highways in the blink of an eye.

Rorik looked over at his companions as they wandered aimlessly down the streets, all wearing heavy winter clothes. With the exception of Rorik. He never felt cold and therefore had never worn anything heavier than pants, a t-shirt and a hoodie like he was that day. Neither of the two had much, if any, experience with major cities yet and were still taking in the sheer height of the towers. "Yeah, one of the only good things about a terrifying, life endangering, cross country journey is you really get to see the nation." He said. A minute later they passed the Bank of America skyscraper and he spoke up again. "I remember that building a little too well."

"Why ?" Asked Erin, still enthralled with the city.

"Let's just say that it's a good thing that the news helicopter was flying so close to the building and that I have good grip."

"I don't even want to know" Asked the blond. They stopped in front of a parking garage. "We should probably get to work. Ale, head inside and get us a car. And don't set off any alarms, we don't need to publicity since there is probably still a warrant out for us. Rorik and I are gonna go find a pharmacy. He is gonna need some bandages for his arm. Sound good ?"

"Si. It's cold out here. Rorik, how you stand it is beyond me." Ale disappear to into the poorly lit garage.

Erin POV

"How do you take it ? The cold, I mean. It can't be warmer than 28 degrees (AN: That's -2 for you celsius people) out here and you're in jeans, a T-shirt and a hoodie."

"Honestly ? I have no idea. I guess it's like greeks being able to read ancient greek."

"Gods, it's freezing out."

"Here, this might help." Rorik pulled Erin closer to him so that they were touching and wrapped his good arm around her.

"Woah." Erin gasped a little. He radiated heat as if he were a demigod heat blanket. She blushed at the close proximity but leaned into him a little deciding that she liked it. "You're really hot." He smirked at her comment then Erin realized the alternate meaning of the phrase. "Wait no ! I didn't me- I mean you are warm. Not to say you're not good looking. You ar-" Rorik cut the daughter of Apollo off mid rant by pulling her into a hug.

"Relax. I know what you mean." He said. Erin was thankful that the cold and wind hid her blush as she leaned into his chest. "C'mon. The pharmacy is around the corner." They continued their walk.

"Has your arm been bothering you ?"

"Thanks to you it hasn't. Again, thank you."

"Anytime."

Rorik POV

They rounded the corner and stepped out of the cold into the pharmacy. While Erin talked to the cashier Rorik sat in a chair against one of the wall pondering something that had been troubling him. The Sergeant had called him a nord. That didn't seem odd to Rorik at first since he was indeed a nord. Or at least a nordic demigod. But the after thinking on what had been said he realized something. How would the Sergeant have known that he wasn't Greek ? There had hardly been any children of nordic gods in a long time, let alone a child of Akatosh. Yet somehow the Sergeant knew.

Erin finished the transaction and took a seat next to Rorik holding a bag with a couple of rolls of bandages and a tube of anti-biotics. She noticed the troubled look on his face. "You okay ?" Her voice snapped Rorik back into reality.

"Yeah. Yeah, just my arm." He lied. The clock on the corner of the room read 12:30. "It's only 12:30. We still have 30 minutes before we have to meet back up with Ale. Do you want to go get lunch ?"

Erin eagerly took the opportunity, for more than one reason though. "Yes ! Please ! I'm so tired of food that Ale has made." Neither the two of them were particularly good cooks so the responsibility of making meals usually fell to Ale who wasn't much better and anything that he made was probably spicy enough to to burn a hole through the shell of a Karkinos.

Rorik laughed some at her eagerness to avoid Ale's cooking. "I know what you mean. I think I saw a place on the way here."

The waiter walked off towards the kitchen after having taken their drink orders. They were seated at place by the Ohio River called the Moerlein Lager House after frantically explaining the hostess that they weren't a couple after she asked if it was their first date. The Lager House was a two story building that had a bar on the first floor and tables on the second.

"So, what's really bothering you ?" Asked Erin. Rorik opened his mouth to speak but Erin cut him off. "I knew you were lying the whole time. You're a terrible liar."

He sighed in resignation. "It's the Sergeant from Cleveland. He called me something peculiar."

"Yeah I know. He's a bastard but he's wrong in insulting us." She said blatantly.

"No, that's not what I mean. He called me a nord."

"Yeah ? What about it ?"

"Just think about it. How would he know that I'm a nords ? The only people that know are you, Ale, and Camp." The waiter dropped off their drink. A pepsi for Rorik and a lemonade for Erin.

The realization visibly sunk in on her face. "Gods, you're right. This isn't good. What i-" Erin's monster proof phone started singing a mariachi song. She pulled it out of her pocket and answered."Ale, what is it ?"

"Seriously ? That's your ringtone for Ale ?" Asked Rorik who was trying to contain his laughter. She shot him an scolding glare before focussing on the call again.

"Ale, calm down and speak English for the gods' sakes." Her face went from anger to concern the more the spaniard spoke to her. "Okay, we'll be there in 3 minutes." She ended the call and put a $20 on the table.

"Let's go. Ale set off a car alarm and now the police are looking for him.

"Damn it, Ale. I was really enjoying this."

Alejandro POV

Ale slid under a car on the 6th floor of the parking garage just in time to avoid the police officer that walked around the corner. He pulled out his phone and dialed Erin. She picked up and he explained his situation while it sounded like Rorik was laughing in the background. He had been working on a black Chevy Camaro but someone had come back to their car and saw him trying to pick the driver side door and called the cops. 5 minutes later a cop car showed up and and two officers stepped out. One stood by the way down to street level while the other searched the different levels one by one. He stuffed his phone back into his pocket after Erin said that there would be there in a couple of minutes. He could hear the officer's foot steps a mere 15 ft away.

"Come on out. I know you're in here, I saw you run around the corner." 'Just a couple more minutes.' He thought. More time passed as Ale waited under the car. They were probably the three longest minutes of Ale's life.

Ale felt his heart skip a beat as the police officers face appear right next to his on the ground. But then he heard a familiar voice.

"Ale, you can come out. He's unconscious." Said Rorik.

He climbed out from underneath the car. "Gracias amigo. Erin" He curtly nodded to the blond who stood to Rorik's left. "The car I was working on is just one floor down. We should probably leave before his partner comes to check on him."

The Camaro roared to life as Ale did the last little tweaks with the wires.

"Really Ale ? A Camaro ?" Questioned Erin. Rorik on the other hand was in awe of the car.

"What ? I've always wanted one. Plus, I have a thing for flare. If you knew my mother you would understand.

"Whatever." said Erin. Ale slid into the drivers seat while Rorik sat in the passenger and Erin in the back. Ale rounded the corners quickly and nearly sped out of the parking garage before the second police officer knew what was happening and drove onto the highway heading out of the city.
