Rain...
If there was one word to describe her, it would be that very damned one.
She hated it so much because it was a symbol of who she really was. Something to destroy sunny, happy days. Something to keep you from having fun and being cheerful. Something that ruined everything...
Juvia knew there was no escaping such a fate. Her life was suppose to be filled with misery because of the misery she gave back to others. She was always bullied for causing unhappiness and depression.
She was like the rain.
Her classmates from elementary school hated her for being 'weird' and 'anti-social'. It wasn't her fault! She didn't mean too! Nobody understood her. Juvia's only friend at that time was a weird doll she made from a old rag and buttons. The bluenette both loved and hated it. It was always there was her, but it also reminded her she had nobody else.
She was like the rain
The rest of her life was the same until she entered high school. There she went into Phantom Lord when the principle Jose Porla told her of her potential. It was great being somewhere people didn't judge her. Juvia even made a loyal friend named Gajeel Redfox. He may look mean but was a teddy bear in the inside.
But, the peak of her life was when she met Gray Fullbuster.
Jose wanted to make sure everyone knew Phantom Lord was better than Fairy Tail, so he declared a 'war' against them. She didn't like that idea but went along with it because she was afraid it would make everyone hate her. Gajeel, on the other hand was filled with excitement and blood-lust. He went as far to show Fairy Tail what he was made of by beating up that poor girl Levy McGarden and her two fellow companions Jet and Droy.
When it was time for her to battle the man named Gray Fullbuster, she felt so nervous! She actually hated to fight. But when she first saw him, she knew it was love at first sight! How her heart leaped with joy when he took off his shirt! Gray-sama!~
Right when things were about to get serious, it started to rain and pour harder onto the ground...
She hated the feeling of rain
She hated it so much because it reminded it of herself!
"Did this rain get stronger? Jezz, this rain is so depressing," Gray put out one arm to feel how hard it was raining. He was shirtless now but ready to fight.
Depressing...
She was like the rain
He was like everybody else! He was the same as all of them! She started to fight him full out now, but her blows were barley hitting him. This man was a fighter, and a good one at that.
Because of the water, it made her surroundings slippery. She let her guard down for a moment and ended up falling. It was terrible luck since they were on top of a roof. As a human being, she wouldn't have survived at such a height.
But she didn't care
This was a good way to go. Rain surrounding her, this was a great way to end her life. She closed her eyes and smiled as she let gravity do all the work. Everything went slowly until something caught her.
The rain women opened her eyes immediately seeing Gray holding onto her. His grip was so tight it felt like he was digging into her bone.
Why was he saving her? They were enemies after all. Was he planning on finishing her by himself? That must have been it...
He successfully managed to get her back on the roof. After letting her go knowing she wouldn't fall, he took a deep breath in and let his body fall onto the roof of the center of the building. He smiled and let the rain wash all the sweat and nerves off, "lets declare this one a draw." He grinned looking enchanting with the wind blowing his hair away from his face and rain cleaning him like a god.
"Why?" Juvia managed to let out, "why did you save Juvia?" she asked with eyes popping out. Nobody showed her such kindness before.
Gray blinked and spoke in a firm voice, "are you dumb? Why would I let you die?" he questioned.
"But we're-"
"So?" he interrupted before she could go on. He was still resting his body and shut his eyes feeling the water on his bare skin, "I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing I let you die right in front of me." A yawn escaped him, it showed how tired he was, "the rain feels pretty good."
He accepted the rain pouring on him...
He accepted the rain...
Rain...
She was like the rain, and he accepted it.
Those were the kindest words she had ever heard.
"Gray-sama!~" Juvia threw herself at him with hearts replacing her iris's. She smiled happily despite the raven-haired man yelling at her.
She had finally found someone to finally accept her. She would love him forever. She would always be by his side. She would do anything for him
...
If that was true how did this complete mess happen?
Flashback 20 minuets ago:
Back at the stage, Juvia carried a box of cloth that she didn't need for the play's costumes. She must have been really broken right now because she didn't know where she even was until Erza tapped her shoulder to wake her up from her blank state of mind.
"Juvia?" the red-head asked gently tilting her head to check if the swimmer was alright.
Juvia blinked several times and shook her head rapidly to snap out of her funk, "J-Juvia is fine!" she blurted out.
Jumping back a little, the female student resumed their conversation. "Um... alright them. I was a little worried since you just stood in one spot the entire time. Also, Lyon came to visit you."
Lyon? The guy who was Gray's brother and the man who had a crush on her? She vaguely remembered him during the Grand Sport Games. He tried to impress her by flexing his muscles and fighting hard in the games. Gross... But why was he here?
"Juvia will go see him," she stated, "where is he?"
"Back of the stage," she said confused, "by the way Juvia, I noticed you seemed distracted. Is there anything wrong?"
Biting the inside of her cheek, the bluenette smiled quickly and a warm atmosphere surrounded her, "Juvia is fine! Just a little under the weather!" she ran off to the direction where Erza pointed before she could question her more.
She didn't want to be a bother to Erza. It was her problem.
"Juvia!" a cheerful familiar voice sang enclosing the distance they had apart from another. It was Lyon with a look of confidence and happiness, "its been a while. How's everything?" he asked making a conversation.
Lyon Milkovich
Lyon is Gray's and Ulter's older brother. Because he is the oldest, he has the need to try everything with his all. He dreams of surpassing his mother since he always admired how strong and kind she always was. He blames Gray for the divorce that happened years ago. He gained a crush on Juvia while competing against Gray in the Grand Sports Games.
"Its been good," she lied smoothly, "why is it that you are here Lyon?" she wondered out of curiosity. He was annoying at times, but his company was appreciated.
The silver-haired noticed the lie easily despite her fabulous acting. He decided to ignore it for now, not wanting to put too much pressure on her. To distract himself from asking, he noticed the box of cloth she was holding, "I'm hear to ask Gray when the culture festival is. He wouldn't answer his phone, and Ur wanted to know really badly to plan early, so I decided to come. Need help with that?" he pointed at the box.
"Juvia is fine. It's very light," Juvia smiled again with sparkles around her. She was a pretty good actor when it didn't involve Gray. She remembered she couldn't even lie her way when he asked him a question... Gray... Her heart felt like it was pierced, but she immediately played it cool. "Juvia has to take this box up to the music room. Levy said Juvia could put all the unneeded things up there for the time being."
"I'll accompany you then," he said as the two started to walk out of the stage and into the halls, "so hows Gray by the way? He didn't do anything stupid did he?" Lyon knew how Juvia was madly in love with Gray. And despite all the moron's bickering, Gray liked her in a romantic way too... Just to stupid to figure it out yet.
She stayed silent while they were entering the music room. When she shut the door and set the box down, she started to reveal the true emotions she was hiding. Tears started to form and her eyes turned glossy. The girl started to hiccup. She tried her best to hold it in but couldn't help it burst out of her eyes like a hose, "G-Gray..." she whimpered holding onto Lyon's sleeve. Juvia knew it was wrong, but she really needed the comfort.
"Are you alright?" he asked half shocked and half scared. Lyon would do anything to not see her cry.
"G-Gray told Juvia she w-was annoying and that he hated her," she cried onto his chest. Water soaking into his clothing.
It hurt so much!
Lyon wanted to rip Gray's head off for making her at this state, but all he could do right now was comfort her. He held her in his arms and patted her back as if to tell her it was going to be fine, "let it all out... You can cry as much as you want here now."
Those were the words that made her let it all go. Her face was completely wet from the tears she produced and let a moan of pain out, "w-why?" she asked silently. "Why Gray-sama? Juvia... Juvia didn't..."
The male tightened his grip on her. She started to stare at him in his eyes. Seeing her appearance from the reflection of his eyes, she suddenly lost herself and the two started to close the distance between their lips. Without knowing, the two were in a deep passionate kiss.
Her mind was a blank. She didn't know what was going on until the door slammed open with a sweaty Gray appearing.
End of Flashback
"... Lyon..." Gray's eyes were filled with anger and despair. When he finally realized his feelings, he saw Lyon and Juvia... He couldn't even say it! His mind was filled with words and actions going too fast from him to find out what was going on. It hurt to see what he just witnessed.
"Gray..." Juvia muttered. She refused to look at him in the eye. She felt so disgusting. How could she kiss Lyon like that? It was like she was using him to distract herself! Fury and sadness fueled her veins. The swimmer ran out before explaining what had happened.
She hated herself so much!
Gray didn't try to reach for her and only stared at the ground with the shadow of his bangs covering his ice cold eyes. The silence grew deadly until the raven-haired man began to speak, "why the hell were you kissing Juvia?" Gray hissed clenching his fists and stopping the urge to murder his brother.
"I thought you hated her?" he glared at him not intimidated.
The Star class's eyes widened being reminded of what he did. His throat was too dry to even swallow. He wouldn't say anything. He couldn't say anything. Gray turned to exit the room but not before he said one last thing, "don't get near Juvia again." with that, Gray left.
He wasn't going to run after Juvia. He couldn't do this anymore. He was hurting both of them. "... Juvia..." Gray set his head against a wall with his blood rising and anger building up, "Damn it!"
Behind the scene, Lucy Heartfillia over heard everything while on her way to get some extra scripts for the students when they were all destroyed from Natsu's fire 'accident'. Her eyes were half closed with depression written all over her face. She bit her tongue lightly and curled her toes.
School had finally ended, Lucy let out a large yawn as she was walking home.
"Luce!" a familiar voice called her name. The Danger class turned to see Sting running towards her. He was wearing the Saber Tooth uniform and a school bag on is back which told her he just got out of school too. He smiled with glee at her.
It made her happy he said her name with just joyousness, but she would never admit that. "What Saber Tooth? And what are you doing here?" she questioned. They were gaining attention from pedestrians around them.
"I noticed you walk the same route. My place is the same direction you're going" he gave her a toothy grin. Was he right in the head?
Lucy blushed slightly and shifted her head away from him, "so what?" she asked as they continued walking.
Sting scratched the back of his neck nervously with his face turning a faint pink, "so.. I thought that if you wanted... You don't have to of course, but we could walk back home together from now on." he offered, "my school is close and my friends live in the opposite direction, so I could use your company- Not that I'm using you or anything! I just... um... could you just tell me if I'm wasting my time or not?" he broke their eye contact.
The blonde looked at him and giggled. She was away from the school, so the students wouldn't see this, "you- you haha," she laughed clenching onto her stomach, "sure, why not." Lucy gave him a decent smile, "let's walk together from now on."
The male blonde's jaw dropped. He actually thought she would say no to him. Could it be she was falling for him?! "G-great!" he said with disbelief. If this was a dream please, PLEASE don't wake him up. "You're not lying are you?" he asked suspiciously.
"No I'm not," she smiled again" "I turn left here," they were at the place where the street split into two paths. She pointed at the left side.
"I turn right," Sting replied fingering his direction as well, "guess this is where we go our separate ways."
Lucy nodded and left swiftly. Sting didn't take too much offence to that and just did a victory dance in his head. Yes! He was the man! The Saber Tooth couldn't help but smile wider.
The blonde female was turning red. She gently slapped her cheeks with her two hands. That was so... so... WOW! She never had such a conversation like that before! Her heart started to pump faster. Was she starting develop a crush on him?! She did admit he was very handsome!- MAVIS! She ran towards her apartment without stopping.
It was finally Friday midnight and Lucy was ready to broadcast. She was glad it was the weekends, so she could finally get a break from all the stress of play. But despite all that, she was really excited to be able to participate in the play! It was like a dream come true!
The blonde but on her headgear while her smile dissipated when she remembered something. While she was happy the play was making her smile, she knew it wasn't making others.
She turned on her technology with three seconds until she was live. Her heart ached. Why was some other persons pain, her pain? She was suppose to be isolated from others. Nobody understood her when she was a little girl and nobody still understands her now. Not even Levy.
Love was so painful.
But not only that, she might also be falling for someone!
Lucy sighed sadly and cleared her throat from the broadcast.
'Hello! Hello! You're listening to Radio Fairy! Now before the questions let's enjoy the sweet voice of Olly Murs, his hit new song 'Seasons!''
She needed time to think for herself. The song would give her at least 2 to 3 minuets to get back and focus! Lucy slapped both her cheeks gently with a determine face.
Forget everything for the time being, it was her time to only think of herself!
'And we are back on track folks! So how are you guys this lovely time of night? The moment has come! Question time! Here we have a great fan named Zombiekiller15! What's your question Zomb?'
'Nice to speak to you Celesta' Zombie said calmly with a hint of a refreshing tone.
'Aw, thanks Zomb! And thanks for being such an awesome fan!'
'Well anyway, I'll be blunt and jump straight to the question part' the voice on the other line stated kindly. 'How do you feel about knowing your identity could be exposed any day? You're scared about that right?'
'Hmm... I do feel scared a lot because I like my privacy and hate being labeled as just Celesta Star and not for who I truly am. But what's life without any risks right?'
'Could I answer one more quick question?'
'It looks like we have time so why not? Shoot'
'If you were to be found out would you quit this?'
Lucy hadn't thought that far yet. If she did get found, she would be looked at differently. She would be surrounded with fake smiles and happiness again.
...
...
...
Being a child of a wealthy family, she was always with people who were after her money and things. They would simply give her complements and sweet smiles. She would title those people the 'Shadowed Liars'. It was something she despised like she had never hated before.
'I... um... I probably won't... Well! We're running out of time! Now lets go resume the questions, Devilgirl you're live on Radio Fairy! How are you? I hope you give me something worth that name of yours'
'Trust me sweet-pie, I'm practically the devil herself. And I'm very fine, I thank you for asking'
This was a voice never she heard before. She sounded like she was a speaker to one of those sexy talk companies! Her voice was so serine and gentle. It was like it was luring someone!
'So what's your question Devilgirl?'
'You see, I'm just a curious soul wanting to know something. Here is my question. What is love to you?'
Another pause was created, the blonde couldn't move for a minuet.
What was love to her?
Something that could make her protect someone with her life?
Something that could make her care for someone for life?
Something that could make her feel happy?
What did the word love mean?
She squeezed her fist and put it up against her chest. This was her broadcast. She had to answer it. Trembling, she nervously began to speak to the millions of people listening to her.
'Love... is something stupid...' she took a deep breathe, 'but that's why we have it, we are all stupid. We are humans who feel pain, happiness, nervousness, embarrassment, etc. We do the dumbest things for the people we care about.
Levy smiled listening to Lucy while she was with her boyfriend who fell asleep in his car again. He was snoring loudly, but she didn't mind it one bit; in fact, it was kind of cute. She snuggled up closer to him with red coloring her.
It was so warm being able to be next to him despite the cold metal surrounding his body.
'We would fight for them'
Erza and Jellal laced their fingers in each others as they looked into their eyes. They were lost from the world and entered their own. A passionate kiss was placed on the red-head's cheek. The duo put their foreheads on each other as they closed their eyes.
(Later Jellal was kicked out of Erza's house by her overprotective father who had a sword with him... Like father, like daughter.)
'We would do anything for them'
Natsu was mesmerized by the voice of the radio girl. He put his head down on the table that held the radio which allowed him too listen to her sweet voice. His cat Happy was asleep on his bed so he decided to just listen to her on the table. The rosy-haired man smiled childishly as he was whisked into his dreams.
Wendy slowly opened the door to his brothers room and quietly placed a large blanket to cover him with Wendy's cat Carla tagging along with her. Her brother might have had a strange body temperature, but he still could get colds at times. She turned off the lights of his room and giggled after looking at his silly face.
'True love means that you would only be satisfied with their happiness'
Yukino stared at the green dress she wore to the Halloween Dance. Clenching onto it tightly, she smiled sadly as she remembered the memories of Sting and her dancing.
'Love gives you a sense of happiness and completion'
Sting jumped into bed with a goofy smile on his face. He reached his hand out as if he was trying to grab onto something.
'But at the same time, love can cause disaster too'
Loki stared at the window. It was a beautiful, radiant full moon out tonight. He growled roughly and glared harshly towards nature. It started to lightly rain outside. The droplets of water hit his glass window. His hand clenched tight as it trembled with rage.
In his other hand was a picture of him and a well figured, green-haired girl. The picture was in a firmed, hard wooded frame. Loki glanced at it then immediately threw it towards a wall. The glass broke and the shattered pieces were scattered.
'It hurts more than any hatred'
Juvia looked at the rain outside. It was so... Depressing. She wrapped her legs tightly with her slender arms.
A small insect was on the edge of her window on the other side. It was trying to get away from the rain which had gotten harsher. The bug tried to pull itself together, but alas nature had won. The bug was pushed by wind and into a small puddle. It drowned shortly after.
Rain... it was always causing such sadness to everyone...
Her hold had gotten tighter and water started to flow from her orbs. She closed her eyes and drifted into a long slumber.
'We make the stupidest mistakes'
Gray put his hand into his thick black hair. He harshly pulled it and gritted his teeth.
Everything was wrong
He didn't know what to do anymore. Should he confess still? Should he leave Juvia alone?
The hardest and scariest question was...
Should he let Juvia be with Lyon?
It was obvious that Lyon would treat Juvia right. She would probably be happy with him. He was a great man after all... A better man than him. He would never yell at her or tell her he hated her...
Out of rage and anger, he grabbed his fist and punched a wall. It left a large hole for everyone to see.
"Fuck!"
'So to answer your question Devilgirl. Love is something that has a major part of our lives. Love is to be cherished and took in warmth. It can destroy and create. It's a powerful thing that some would even call it magic.'
Lucy placed her hand to her heart and took a long breathe in and out. She was confident in saying those words. She was 100% sure of herself when she said that. A small smile escaped her lips.
'That's all for tonight guy! Please enjoy this song, 'One Last Time' by Ariana Grande!'
The blonde took off her headset and slowly walked into bed. She placed her pink sheets over her body and noticed Plue was right beside her pillow. He was sleeping soundly. The radio girl gently petted him.
Gray sat down on his bed pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. He had finally decided on what to do. He wanted Juvia to be happy, and in order to do that...
He had to leave her be. Being with her would only end up hurting her even more, she would be happy with Lyon.
He simply just had to give up...
The raven haired gulped and began to get ready for bed.
'...Am I forgetting something?'
"I want my fucking phone call!" Silver yelled behind bars. He was holding onto the solid metal so tightly it was about to actually bend.
Doranbolt sighed in tiredness, "don't worry sir, we're working everything out now. You should be let out in several more hours. We just need to fill out this paperwork." He pointed at a large pile of paper almost as tall as him.
The fathers face dropped, "GRAY! WHEN I GET OUT OF HERE YOU'RE GROUNDED FOR FUCKING LIFE!" he screamed getting more hyper. He pulled the bars with one feet on the wall of metal to support him, "GRAY!"
Lahar glanced at him in pity, "like father like son."
"GRAY!"
(For some reason, Gray felt a shiver up his back)

Afraid of Love
By: Gray-Mochi
On that day my heart and mind were both shattered. I tried to put the pieces back together, but some of them were missing. From that day I was afraid to trust others. I was afraid... to love others. Will you fill the empty gaps in my heart...?
