Chapter 15: Isla del Sol

"You're really not going to like what comes next. I hope you know that." Luka looked into Bayonetta's hypnotic, gray eyes.

"Don't tell me. Air Cheshire has awful in-flight entertainment and horrendous food?" Bayonetta sucked on a lollipop while stroking Cerezito's head.

The little boy had fallen asleep holding his rabbit. His sister played airplane with her cat. Luka couldn't stop watching Bayonetta's lips as she sucked on that sweet lollipop.

He could imagine those lips elsewhere.

That train of thought was broken when Cerezita got up and whizzed her toy past his face.

"Think about it. Those things that downed the jet aren't just going to let us land on their island. You think we can just say 'Hey we're here!' and they'll bring us a cake? Things look good from up here. But further down you go the harder it is to not notice the reality….of things?" His speech was interrupted again as he watched Bayonetta in the mirror.

The woman had leaned forward and through the mirror Luka could see an ample amount of her breast. They were perfectly round and smooth and there was water dripping, no, sliding down the crevice of her tan package.

"Cheshire. Look." Bayonetta got up from her seat to stand right next to him.

What he saw in the mirror wasn't half as good as directly looking at them.

Oh man!

"Oh…I'm looking." Luka's voice had gotten much lower and huskier. He felt like his body was heating up despite how cold it was.

"You sodding, Imp! Keep your bloody eyes on the sky!" Silver's enraged shout made Luka turn back to the window.

"Oh, fuck me!" His desperate cry rang through the skies as missiles suddenly hit the helicopter.

Luka fell through fire. The heat was unbearable and his ears were ringing.

This must've been what hell was like. He was surely going there after all the inappropriate thoughts he'd had lately.

"Welcome to my fantasy zone. Get ready!"

Wow. Even in death Luka could still hear her sexy voice.

He felt more flames licking as his body and heard more explosions. Yet, he felt no pain.

Opening his eyes, Luka realized he was hanging from something.

He was hanging from a fucking missile!

"AH! WHAT THE FUCK!"

He was going to scream his lungs out the entire ride towards Isla del Sol!

Up above the missile was where he assumed Bayonetta and Silver were. Luka could hear gunshots going off and the twins in the background yelling "get them".

Ever since he put those glasses on, Luka appeared to be able to see those creatures a little bit more without the use of the glasses. Their full figures weren't visable, but blurry outlines of them were. And man, were there a bunch of them coming at them from all angles, but every time one got close they got shot down. The worst part was the spinning of the rocket. It was a struggle for him to keep his lunch down.

"Oh, Fuck my life!" Luka couldn't stop screaming curses.

All he wanted to do was make it to the island in one piece!

"It's brilliant, mummy!" Cereza on to Mummy's leg, but strangely she wasn't scared.

The lights all around them were so pretty and bright.

"Rezo, you should see it too!" She shouted back at her brother, who was holding onto the floating-thing really hard. He wouldn't let go at all during the ride.

He was probably sick again.

Not-Daddy rubbed brother's back to make him feel better. Cereza could tell the funny man was also sick from his pale face. The ride was so much fun though. How could they have gotten sick?

"Welcome to Isla del Sol, island of wealth and power!"

A lady in red came at them on another floating-thing. Mummy jumped off and started kicking at her. Cereza ran to the edge and, watching Mummy and the lady fight.

She wanted to help somehow.

"Cereza!" Not-Daddy picked her up along with brother and jumped off the floating-thing.

she opened her eyes after the man put them down. They were on some building and with Mummy and the red lady.

"Jeanne." Mummy said.

That couldn't be right. Mummy must have gotten confused.

That lady couldn't be Jeanne...even though she looked a lot like her if she were much older. Maybe this was her friend's Mummy...but Jeanne told Cereza that her parents were dead...

"If you've made it this far, that should be enough. You're back to your old self. This is where we finish what was started so long ago."

"A friend of my enemy is also my enemy. Be it Witch or Sage." Mummy started pacing and pulled out her guns.

She looked scary.

"The Lumen Sages…they were our counterbalance as overseers. Between us there was a law that was never to be broken. It stated that the intersection of light and dark would bring calamity to this earth. But five-hundred years ago, twins were born in clear violation of this tenet. One of those twins was you and the other was your new friend."

"Silver, you're my…" Mummy whispered to Not-Daddy.

Cereza didn't understand what was going on.

Mummy looked so upset and wouldn't stop staring at Not-Daddy. He looked even more miserable. Brother squinted in pain from the tight grip Not-Daddy had on his hand.

"Five-hundred years ago." Mummy held her head.

Did she have a headache?

Cereza didn't know what do. She squeezed Cheshire closer to her chest.

"The disaster this caused sent the clans into a spiral of chaos that continues to be felt to this day. You, the half-breed of light and dark, are one of those at the center of that chaos. Allowing you to exist is a danger that cannot be accepted." Not-Jeanne approached them, pulling out her own guns.

"When the Eyes of the World are within our grasp, the power of creation will be awakened. That is why the Left Eye, our treasured Left Eye, will never fall into the hands of another!" Not-Daddy said. "Those were Jeanne's final words as she stabbed you in the chest, sister. Her decision changed your life."

He called Mummy, sister. So was he her uncle then?

Not-Daddy let go of brother's hand and walked over to Mummy, putting his hand on her shoulder. "It's her fault you're like this!"

"Yes as he said, the Left Eye, our treasured Left Eye, will never fall into the hands of another! Bayonetta, it is time that this is brought to an end. That you are brought to an end!"

"You…you did it." Mummy snarled.

Why was everyone so mad?

Cereza was scared.

Brother noticed her change in emotion and grabbed ahold of her hand.

"It is our charge as witches to protect the treasures of the clan…by any means necessary. Even if it means burning every inch of this island to a crisp." Not-Jeanne held an odd object in her hand.

Before she could push the button on it though, Mister Luka came out of nowhere in a "car" and snatched it out of her hand.

"I'm really beginning to hate missiles. You know, I have no idea what the hell you girls got going on here, but you don't mind if I take this off your hands, do ya?…Get in, Cerezita and Cerezito." Mister Luka yanked the twins by their nightgowns and pulled them into the van, driving off without a second.

Cereza wasn't worried, she knew Mummy would win.

Umbra Witch Jeanne

Dance to Remember

"Bayonetta. Time is of the essence. This can wait no longer!" Jeanne taunted her.

She wanted to go after Cereza and Cerezo but the enemy wasn't going to allow that course of action.

"Sister…" Silver wasn't able to finish his sentence due to Jeanne sprinting towards her.

The red witch launched into a series of kicks that were countered with Bayonetta's. The black witch could feel something inside of her growing. One of the kicks managed break through Jeanne's and she went flying into a section of glass. The amount of adrenaline in Bayonetta's body was pushing to her to an all new high. She fell into a series of flips and kicks that were new, but yet so familiar.

The intense fight caused the building to begin crumbling.

The witches jumped onto a new building with a large statue of wings. They hung off the side of the building, continuing the fight.

In the reflection of the glass Bayonetta caught sight of a golden light in the sky. The light was Silver floating with wings.

How was he doing that?!

In the middle of an attack Jeanne stepped back and her red jumpsuit changed into a white suit made of her hair.

The Umbra uniform!

Jeanne was her sister witch after all.

Bayonetta's midnight black hair and black jumpsuit versus Jeanne's blonde hair and cream jumpsuit. They were opposites.

Bayonetta's thrusts and jabs were countered by the opponent summoning arms from her Wicked Weave.

A missile was coming towards them as well, but Jeanne didn't seem perturbed. She jumped and landed on the missile, guiding it to the black witch. Bayonetta jumped onto the missile and continued to pursue Jeanne.

They both summoned the hands of their sponsors, starting a punching match. The rapid summoning of Bayonetta outpaced Jeanne and pushed her off the missile. She landed on the veranda of building.

The black witch followed her and used the fountain to shield herself from a barrage of bullets. When Jeanne came from above, Bayonetta summoned a heel to kick her away. She summoned her own heel and canceled the attack.

Jeanne was starting slow down.

Sliding on the ground, Bayonetta spun, kicking the weakening witch into the air. While she was midair Jeanne turned and summoned more Wicked Weaves. Their punching and kicking seemed to go on for forever until the red witch ran out of magic.

She was completely open now.

Bayonetta's unlimited punches sent her flying for the second time.

"Now, it's decided." Jeanne laid on the ground by the fountain, exhausted from the battle.

"So it is." Looking down at her, Bayonetta felt a mixture of happiness and sadness.

"The fear is not gone from your eyes…"

"Fear?"

"The memories you've held for five-hundred years are the source of your fear. They cloud your vision. But now, you've accepted your fate. That is how you bested me. That is why you possess the most beloved of Umbran Treasures. That is why you possess the Left Eye."

"We fought for this stone…and because of it everyone died." She pulled the gem out of her watch for them both to see.

How could one little stone cause so much pain?

"That gem brings back so many memories…" Jeanne gently took the gem out her hand and raised it up to the moon.

Bayonetta saw an inscription appear on it. She couldn't make out the words.

Suddenly, that vision of being stabbed came back to her.

"That is why the Left Eye, our treasured Left Eye, will never fall into the hands of another. I will not stand for the ambition of a treacherous Lumen Sage who disrupted our age old balance. Your path ends here!" Jeanne yelled, standing over her protectively.

The witch couldn't do anything right now.

Her Mother was dead. Poor Mummy, she deserved so much better.

She couldn't save her. The one person she wanted to protect, died in her arms.

The angels surrounded them. Jeanne valiantly destroyed each and every one, but more just kept coming. She wanted to help, but her body wouldn't move. It was paralyzed with grief and denial. The only thing she could do was cry.

Cry for the bitter and lonely life her mother led. Cry for her own unfair life.

The grief began to overwhelm her. The witch could feel something pulling from the inside. The force was trying to rip her apart in order to come out.

She couldn't control it.

Why did she ever accept that stupid gem?!

The tearing stopped and the sacred gem floated in front of her. She felt too tired to ask Jeanne what was happening.

"Do not fear your fate. Stand…Cereza."

"In the innocence of our childhood, we used to play together as friends. But as time passed, perhaps even my eyes were clouded with fear." As the memory faded away so was Jeanne.

Bayonetta tightly grasped her hand after she almost dropped the gem.

"We were..?" Her voice cracked.

Too many memories had abruptly resurfaced her mind.

"Do not fear your fate. Stand, Cereza. Stand and open your eyes. For with every truth, there is another one to be seen." Jeanne grabbed a gun and shot at her.

Why was she pushing her away again?!

Right at that moment a missile landed where Jeanne had been. The explosion sent Bayonetta crashing into the glass of another building. She landed on the ground with a loud thump. Weakly, she sat up and saw the veranda in flames.

"Jeanne." The depths of despair the witch felt were enough to make a few tears come out of her eyes.

She hadn't ever cried since waking up, but the hot droplets fell anyway.

Bayonetta stayed on her knees, mourning the loss of her only friend. The only one who looked at her in the darkness of childhood and saw a person instead of an abomination. In that moment of despair she felt warm arms wrap around her shoulders and a body press against her back.

"Cerezo..." She knew who he was now.

How could she have ever forgotten him?

"Yes, my dear, sweet sister. You finally called out for me...I will always be here to protect you, even from your own heart." His soft tenor calmed her sobs.

Her brother held Bayonetta tighter and leaned his head on her neck. She softly cried into his arms, feeling that while a piece of her had been lost another had returned.

"Hey, is it over!?" Luka shouted as he came off the elevator with Sissy in his arms.

The silly girl fell asleep.

Mummy was shocked to see them. Her face was really sad and Cerezo could see tears on her face. Daddy was with her.

Why was Mummy crying?

If someone hurt her then he would beat them up! Why did everyone like picking on her?!

Daddy let Mummy go so she could wipe the tears off.

"What!? It's not like you don't scare the shit out of me all the time!?" Luka insisted to a frowning Mummy.

"Cereza! Cerezo!" She put both her hands on his cheeks to make sure he was alright.

Cerezo wanted to make her feel better so he beamed radiantly at her. She smiled back, but it was still sad.

"I don't know whether to shoot you or to take you to Vegas for good luck, Cheshire."

"Give me more credit that that." He grunted. "If you must know. Where L-U-K-A, Luka is concerned, there's no such thing as luck. Only skill."

"Yeah, Mummy. Luka grabbed us both and swung out into the air like a bird." Cerezo added.

She caressed his head and fixed his glasses. Mummy was being really nice now compared to before. It was making his face burn.

"You didn't expect me to trust bitches…I mean witches, did you, Bayonetta!?" Luka held out his hand and helped Mummy up.

Why wouldn't he stop staring at her with that funny expression?!

Cerezo didn't like the staring, it was like how Aunty stared at her favorite cakes right before she devoured them in a few bites. Daddy must not have liked it either cause he swatted Luka's hand away from her.

"How's the other little one?" Mummy rubbed Reza's back.

"Out like a light, but okay other than that. What about you? You really think I'm gonna let myself be seen in public with a girl looking all beat up like that?" Luka magically pulled out another one of those sweets and gave one to Mummy.

His mouth unconsciously started watering.

"I look dreadful, do I? You'll have to learn to wipe that stupid look off your face or I'll never let you keep chasing me around this world. Got that, Luka?" Mummy swiped the sweet out of his hand and walked off.

Daddy followed after her.

"Now, that's more like." Luka snapped his finger and was about to run off, but Cerezo grabbed his pants.

"What's wrong Cerezito?"

He merely held out his hand, shyly looking at the man's pocket.

The man sighed behind a grin. "Here you go Cerezito."

Cerezo happily at his blue candy while holding Luka's hand as the man tugged him forward.

"Mister Luka, you really are a candyman. I think that's even better than anything my Daddy could ever do."

Up ahead, Daddy choked as his face scrunched up and Mummy laughed at him.

Elsewhere, the Bayonetta and Cerezo toys stood next to a large building with wings.
