Chapter 16
Central Library:
I was shocked when we arrived at the central library. Don't get me wrong, I love the library but I never thought that Natsume would actually come. When we walked in, a busty, brunette receptionist immediately greeted Natsume and ignored me. Of course, I was already use to it. No one ever greeted me when I come to the library. I was about to walk off when she asked Natsume "Would you like a private room, Mr. Hyuuga?" I rolled my eyes, of course she would know his name and ask him that question.
Natsume glanced at the receptionist and asked "What's in the private room?"
The busty brunette gave him a seductive look and said "It's perfect for any kind of work. And the name's Cindy so if you choose the private room, I will be in your service."
Natsume just nodded his head and said "Sure, I'll take the private room."
We followed the receptionist to the back of the library. We went up a grand staircase and came to a high class room. I've been here before but I never bothered with the fancy stuff they have…well okay, maybe I did. I usually come here to kill time and do some volunteer work. When Cindy finally got the door unlocked and before she can even walk towards door, Natsume had slammed the door at her face. I turned on the TV. and sat on the couch. The next thing I knew, Natsume was turning up the volume. I looked at him questionably. His face filled with shock, I looked at the TV. My eyes widen in shock. The headline read: HEIRESS LUNA KOIZUMI NOW BECOMING PRINCESS? Pictures of Luna and another man filled the screen.
"I want to talk to Luna." I tore my attention from the TV and looked at Natsume. "Let me rephrase that sentence. I need to talk to Luna Koizumi and if you don't let me talk to her, I will get you fired instantly."
After a 5 minute wait, Natsume stood up and left the room. I immediately followed him. He looked at me and for some reason he said "Get in the car." I did as he told and we drove off. 30 min later we are at the Koizumi's house. As soon as the car stopped, Natsume headed for the main entrance. I followed him. I watched him barge into the foyer with speed. When I reached the foyer I saw Luna with the guy on the TV making out. Natsume just stood there.
"Mind telling me what happened?" His face was emotionless and his voice was monotonous. "Mind telling me how you suddenly became a princess? And mind telling me why you were kissing this guy." Natsume pointed at the man.
Luna just stared at Natsume and laughed. "You are hilarious! Well since you are here, I'll tell you. I'm breaking up with you Natsume Hyuuga and let you introduce you to my fiancé, Matthew Funiche, prince of Ghaitti." Natsume just stared at Luna and at Matthew. "You might be wondering why? Well to be honest, I want more. More gifts, more everything. And when I met Mat, I knew he can satisfy me and of course I knew I can satisfy him. And who wouldn't want to be a princess?"
Natsume spoke softly and I was shocked because his voice was laced with hurt "Did I not satisfy you enough? Did I not buy you what you wanted, did I not treat you like a princess?"
Luna just stared at him and said "You did treat me well, but it just wasn't enough. Don't you get it Natsume? He is a prince! You may be rich but you are not a prince!"
"So you dumped me because he has the title of a prince? Is that what you're saying?" Nastume asked.
Luna's eyes lit up "Yes!"
As Luna and Natsume continue to sort out their problem I observed the prince. He had fair skin and hair that reached a little above his shoulder. His eyes were a unique shade of green and I have to be honest; the prince is quite a hunk. His height matched Natsume's and they both have that bad boy vibe. To me, Natsume and the prince can be evenly matched in everything possible; everything but in title. No matter what, Matthew is a prince.
"Well since I told you everything, you can leave now. I have a wedding to plan, so bye bye." Luna said while turning her back towards us. "and Natsume, I didn't love you, but I liked you."
Natsume just stood there with a emotionless face. Even though his face is emotionless, his eyes betrayed him. Once filled with confidence and pride are now replaced with sadness and pain.
We left the Koizumi mansion shortly and Natsume drove in silence. I really want to help him but I just don't know how. I was still deep in thought when Natsume asked "Where do you live?"
Crap! I totally forgot! What am I supposed to do? Uh oh…I immediately wrote you can drop me off at the bus stop and I will bus home. Before I can show him the paper, his phone rang.
"Yeah, she's still with me. You want her to stay over tonight? Why? But—" I looked at Natsume and he stared at me. His eyes still bare the hurt. "You're staying over tonight."
Once we arrived at Natsume's place, I was greeted with a hug by Aunt Kaoru. She then turned to her son and said "I saw the news and I told you that I don't like her. You should go take a shower and take a break." With that, Natsume left. Aunt Kaoru then turned her attention back to me and said "Mikan, you poor child, Kazumi told me everything. The Yuka I know isn't like that. The Yuka I know is a respected woman and a caring mother. No matter what, I will figure out what had gotten into that brain of hers." I smiled and hugged Aunt Kaoru. "You're welcome, child. Now I have a favour to ask you: can you help me look after Natsume? He really likes Luna and this event has really put an impact on him. Can you help him?"
I looked at Aunt Kaoru and nodded. I really can't stand seeing Natsume hurt. As long as he is happy I'm happy.
