Chapter 19
I do not own Gakuen Alice:
I sat still as Doctor Subaru examine my health data, asking some questions along with the process. I'm grateful but at the same time kind of scared because I am ninety nine percent sure that he will tell his sister AKA one of my best friend, Hotaru Imai, my condition.
"Mikan," Subaru looked at me "is it true that you talked?"
I looked at him straight in the eye and nodded.
"Well this isn't really my department, but I will do the best I can."
With effort I manage to say a very raspy and broken up thank you. Without knowing I displayed a sad smile, maybe because I still can't talk very well.
"Mikan, I will do the best I can, I will find the best doctor in Japan to help you. And, thank you–for saying thank you."
I looked at Subaru, who is almost like a brother to me and smiled. Subaru smiled back and his eyes had the caring big brother look. I'm grateful for everything at this moment, I really am grateful.
A few days has passed and I am still hospitalized, but in these few days my friends and family came to visit. My friends were worried sick and my brothers were just down right worried. I didn't tell them that I can somewhat talk, I want to keep it a surprise for now, but I have a hunch that Hotaru already knows.
I looked out my window for the twelfth time from my hospital bed, but to be honest I already lost count. I was zoning out when I heard Persona's voice.
"Mikan, I'm coming in and I brought Yoichi along."
I smiled when I saw my two brothers and we talked all day long.
