Disclaimer: I still don't own Supernatural. I do, however, own Annabel :3

Annabel was once again seated on her hospital bed. Her mind was blank but felt like it was going a million miles a minute. I can't believe that just happened. Annabel was in shock. She was out for her walk and she witnessed the death of her nurse, Miranda. After it happened, Annabel had gone back to her room and called the tall agent, Agent Banner. When she finished the call, she just sat on her bed staring into space. She sat there for what felt like hours until there was a knock on her door. Annabel looked up and saw the agents.

"Hey, Annabel. Are you ok?" Agent Banner asked. Both men moved into the room and stood next to the teenager's bed. Upon their entrance, Annabel wiped the tears from her face.

"I'm fine. But Miranda…" Annabel's throat closed up. The taller agent grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze.

"Annabel, I know this is going to be hard but we need you to tell us what happened." Annabel again wiped her tears and nodded. She looked up in surprise when she saw Agent Hamill holding a tissue out for her.

"It's ok, kid." Annabel gave him a small smile and an appreciative look. She took in a deep breath before relaying the recent events.

"After you guys left earlier, I went to take a walk. I love taking walks, you know? Not much else to do here. But a condition of me taking my walks is that I have to check in with my nurse on shift, which was Miranda. I went to check in with her and everything was fine unitl-" Annabel stopped and looked at the agents. She was hesitant to continue. The two men shared a look.

"Until what, Annabel?" Agent Banner asked.

"You will think I'm crazy and I really don't want to spend the rest of my life in THAT type of hospital." Annabel didn't want to see those looks again. She told the other nurses what had happened and they all fawned over her claiming she was in shock. She didn't need nor want these agents to do the same thing.

"We won't think you're crazy, kid. I can guarantee that we have heard things ten times crazier." Oddly enough, Annabel believed him and found Agent Hamill's words comforting.

"She…she started to choke out of nowhere. She wasn't eating or drinking anything. I tried to help her but nothing was working. It sounds crazy, right?" Annabel's misty eyes looked to the agents expecting at least a wary look but neither agent looked at her differently.

"Did anything else strange happen? Or did you see anything else?" Agent Banner asked.

"Besides my nurse dying of suffocation without anything there?" The men both cleared their throats uncomfortably. "You asked me a similar question earlier. Flickering lights? Cold spots?" The agents then became visually uncomfortable and this spiked Annabel's suspicions. "You're not really FBI agents, are you?" She watched as the men looked at each other and tried to assure her that they were indeed FBI agents.

"Of course we are, kid. It's a crime to impersonate government agents." The shorter 'agent' said. Annabel looked them over and shook her head.

"For some reason, I feel like that doesn't really bother you. Plus, why would the FBI be here?" The men looked at each other again and the taller one gave a small shrug to the shorter one. 'Agent Hamill' gave a sigh and turned to the teenager sitting on the bed.

"You're right. We're not FBI agents. But we know what's going on here and we know how to stop it from happening again." Annabel really looked at the men and realized that they were being honest.

"So, who are you really, then?"

"My name is Sam, This is my brother Dean." Agent Banner, or Sam as he is now known as, said. Annabel kept staring at them and Sam and Dean were starting to get a little uncomfortable.

"You said you know what's going on around here. So, what's really going on?" This is where the boys really started to fidget.

"Uh, I don't think it's really a good idea to…" Sam started to say while sharing a look with Dean but was interrupted by Annabel.

"It's a ghost, isn't it?" Both boys' heads snapped to look at her.

"What do you know about ghosts?" Dean asked her. Annabel shook her head.

"Nothing except what I see on that 'Ghost Hunters' show. I mean, she choked on nothing. You asked me questions about flickering lights and cold spots. Isn't a ghost the only explanation?" The boys looked at the girl and were impressed with her deductive skills.

"Um, yea. Yea, it's a ghost." Annabel's eyes lit up.

"That's so cool! I mean, I never thought they were real but…but…" The light left Annabel's eyes and sadness reappeared. "I would rather have not found out that ghosts were real if it meant Miranda and Mr. Oliver were still alive." The boys held solemn expressions as they watched the young girl. "How are you going to get rid of the ghost?"

"Well, first we have to figure out who it is and then we go salt and burn their-" Dean was interrupted by Sam.

"Dean." Sam chided. "I don't really think you should be telling her that."

"Its fine, Sam. She can handle it. Can't you, kid?" Annabel nodded vigorously. "See?" Sam shot Dean an exasperated look. "We salt and burn their bones. It helps to purify them and make sure they have nothing left to be attached to." Annabel held a mild look of disgust and horror on her face before thinking it through.

"That makes sense but it can't be fun doing that." Dean shook his head.

"We don't do this job for fun, kid."

"Then why do you do this job?" That question struck something within both Sam and Dean.

"Because if we don't, then who will?" Annabel looked up at them sadly.

"Doesn't sound like a great way to live to me." The brothers looked at her in silent agreement.

"We do what we have to." Sam gave his brother a significant look and Dean's jaw clenched. Annabel could feel the shift of the atmosphere and the tension. She cleared her throat and got the attention of the boys.

"How can I help?" The boys blinked at her and Dean suddenly got an overprotective feeling for the girl seated in front of him.

"You're not helping with anything. You need to just stay in here and let us handle it." Sam looked over to his brother and recognized the protective look on his face. Sam couldn't help to feel a little protective over the teenager as well.

"Dean's right. We don't want you to get hurt. We will give you some tips to help keep you safe but other than that…" Dean nodded his head in agreement with his brother. Annabel gave a huff of frustration.

"What about the others on this floor? Huh? I can't just sit here and do nothing." Dean shook his head.

"Sorry, kid. We aren't going to budge on this." Annabel stared them down in hopes that they would give in. She didn't have any luck and heaved a big sigh.

"Fine. But please, be careful." The boys weren't expecting that and gave the girl small smiles and nods. She gave a small smile back and watched as they got ready to leave for the second time that day.

"You make sure to call us again if anything happens." Annabel gave a little salute along with a 'yes sir' before watching them walk out the door. As soon as they were gone, Annabel got up to ask the nurse if she could borrow a tablet. She had some research do to.
