Training
"Senseiii," The older man sighs.
"Yes Sakura-chan?" The pinkette rolls onto her back from her position on the grass, and stares at the man.
"Can we stop training now? It's boiling out!" He rolls his eyes.
"You haven't even gotten up from your spot in the shade. So, no." She groans in agony. Sighing, she stands up and stalks off to another tree. The man watches her, amusement dancing in his eyes. His eyes close and he starts to doze off. Meanwhile, Sakura's contemplating her skills.
"I can throw a kunai... Right?" She stares at the sharp object in her hands. With confidence lower than usual, the pinkette drops the kunai to the ground, blade first. She slumps down against the grass, depressed.
"Why can't I be as good of a ninja like Naruto and Sasuke?" Emerald eyes watch the two boys sparring with each other. She sighs and lays down on her back, consumed by cold shade. Opening her eyes, a few tears roll down her face and fall on her neck. She quickly wipes at her eyes.
"No, I won't cry. It's not worth it. I'll train and become stronger!" With new-found confidence, she jumps up after pulling the kunai from the ground.
"Sensei," The older man stirs from his nap.
"Hm?" He looks at her. Something seems different.
"I want you to train me." His eyes widen with surprise. He quickly smiles and stands up, dusting his pants.
"Alright Sakura, what did you want to focus on?" The young girl's grip on her kunai tightens.
"Kunai throwing. I'd like to start there." He nods. For the next couple of hours, Kakashi teaches her the basics by setting up targets and dummies. Her aim gradually gets better and better, Kakashi's impressed.
"Your accuracy is getting better Sakura. Now, time for speed. I'm going to throw some shuriken at you, and you're going to need to dodge them. Are you okay with that?" She nods, determination burning in her eyes. He starts off slow, Sakura dodging them all. As his pace quickens, Sakura looses footing and stumbles a bit, a few grazing her arms and face. She flinches slightly. A few shuriken nip at her hair, a couple long, pink strands falling around her.
Hours more of training and she collapses, tired and sweaty. Panting hard on the ground, her eyes close.
"Sakura, you can't fall asleep out here. We'll call it quits for today. Head home. Do you need me to walk you?" The pinkette mumbles something unintelligent. Against her will, she pulls herself up and trudges home, Kakashi right behind her. He steadies her with his arms as she walks, swaying slightly. At her door, Sakura turns around, her pink hair flowing behind her. Eyes droopy and cheeks flushed with warmth, she smiles and 'thanks' Kakashi. He nods, blushing and heads for his own apartment.
"Good night Sakura-chan."
"G'night Kashi-kun."
