Well, sorry again. This is really short.
But, I'm going to be posting another chapter tonight. *Holds out pinky* Pinky swear!

Nikki POV
I had the windows down and the radio turned up loud. My hair was flying out of the braid it was in and tickling my face, which was in a full out grin as I hummed along and tapped the steering wheel to the beat of Boston's Peace of Mind.
It seemed like a long time since I'd been in this good a mood. But, why wouldn't I be? Chris was coming home for the first time in almost two years, I was going to see the people who raised me, and I hadn't had any unexplained magical experience in over three hours.
"Now everybody's got advice they just keep on givin'
Doesn't mean too much to me
Lot's of people out to make-believe they're livin'
Can't decide who they should be."
I was just about to belt out the course when my phone rang. I sighed, turning the radio down to answer it.
"Hello?" I asked, not bothering to look at the caller ID.
"Hey Nik," I heard Sam say.
"Sam! Hi!" I said cheerfully.
He laughed a little at my tone. "So, we just finished a job in Ohio, thought we'd stop by Janesville for a few days. You know, fill you in on a few things."
"Sorry. Can't do that." I said simply.
"What? Why not?" Sam asked. One thing that I'd noticed about Sam was that his voice was almost as expressive as his eyes; he was surprised, and a little insulted if not hurt.
"I'm not in Janesville." I said simply.
"What?" Sam asked, his voice raising a little. "Where the hell are you?"
"Well, right now I am..." I paused to read a sign as I passed it. "50 miles from the Illinois border."
There were a few seconds of incoherent, worried stuttering before Sam spoke again. "Where are you going?"
"Peshtigo." I said simply.
"Ok…Uh…Just-Just find a motel, ok? Call us with the address and we'll meet you there." Sam finally said.
"Why?" I asked, confused.
"We'll drive you the rest of the way."
"Why?" I asked again, more confused.
Sam didn't say anything, but I heard some hushed voices; he and Dean where talking. "I'm puttin' you on speaker." Sam finally said.
"Hey Nik." I heard Dean say.
"Hey." I greeted in the same tone. "Now why do you two want to drive me home like a couple'a over protective parents?"
"Just trust us, 'kay Nikki?" Dean said.
I rolled my eyed. "I do trust you guys, but I haven't seen my family in over a year, Chris in two. I'm not gonna wait around in a motel room waiting for you guys! And besides, I can take care of myself." I looked down at the knife I still hand on my belt, I'd been keeping it with me at all times.
I heard two frustrated sighs. "Fine." Dean finally snapped.
"Dean!" I heard Sam say in a hushed voice. "What about-"
"We're on our way to Peshligo." Dean added.
"Peshtigo." Both Sam and I corrected him at the same time.
"Yeah, whatever, that's what I said. We'll meet you there, ok?" Dean said.
"It's like a three day drive from Ohio. I'm a day and a half ahead of you." I told him, not wanting to wait for them. Well, I did. And I didn't.
"Yeah, ok." Dean chuckled in a slightly condescending way.
"Nik," It was Sam now, he must have taken his phone off speaker because I didn't hear the growling of the Impala anymore. "Just-Just be careful, ok?"
I rolled my eyes at him. "Yes Sam." I said teasingly.
"Nikki I'm serious." Sam all but snapped at me. "Guard up 24/7, got that?"
I was a bit stunned at his tone. "Yeah, 24/7." I repeated. "Promise."
"Ok…Good…See you in a few days." Sam said.
"Bye." I said quickly before he hung up.
I frowned a little as I tossed my phone onto the passenger's seat in the pickup.
Sam and Dean (mostly Sam) had always been the more worried one who told me to be careful.
But having both of them worried? They weren't telling me something.
