Chapter 41: Clash! Overlord

"Dragonic Overlord, The End." Kai started. "When you ride it on top of Dragonic Overlord, it receives +2000 power. That makes the total 13000."

"Crossride." Aichi blinked. "I never knew there was an unit that could do that. That's amazing, Kai."

"Did you know?" Kourin looked at Suiko. "Is that why you came here to watch the fight?"

"No, I didn't know, either." Suiko admitted. "At any rate, he surprises me. He not only woke up Sendou Aichi from the spell of Psyqualia, he's even mastered a unit that could crossride. With all that ability, why doesn't he have Psyqualia?"

"Because he never needed it." Harmonia replied, the skirt of her dress was still billowing from her expanding aura. "Have you forgotten what his original duty was?"

"To serve as the final bastion in Queen Isis' defense..." Kourin breathed. "Now I see."

"By crossriding Dragonic Overlord The End, it's power is 13000." Kai hissed. "With this, I'm going to beat you and your Psyqualia. Ren, I'm going to bring you back to earth. I call Bahr. With a boost from Conroe, Burning Horn attacks Fatalita. With a boost from Flame of Hope, Aermo, The End attacks. Check the drive trigger. Not yet." he swore. "When an attack boosted by Aermo hits, I can discard one unit from my hand to activate its skill. Draw. The End isn't finished." he smirked. "It uses its own reflection. Persona Blast."

"The End stood?" Aichi gaped.

"When its attack hits, The End can stand again by discarding one more of the same unit." Kai explained. "That's right. Its true form appears behind the mask. Go back to being the guy you used to be."

"Guard." Ren fended the attack. "Death Feather Eagle."

"Check the drive trigger." Kai growled. "Got a critical trigger. I give all the effects to Berserk Dragon."

"He guarded against The End's attack." Aichi gawked.

"There's still Berserk Dragon with 2 critical." Kourin reminded.

"Berserk attacks with a boost from Bahr." Kai continued his attack.

"I guard with Abyss Freeze and Blaster Javelin." Ren defended. "DonnerSchlag intercepts."

"He blocked that one, too." Rekka commented.

"Turn end." Kai ended his turn.

"Kai." Aichi muttered. "Even though he did a crossride with The End and a Persona Blast..."

"I guess Suzumgamori Ren's strength is the real thing, huh?" Kourin noted.

"Yes." Suiko nodded.

"Too bad, Kai." Ren scoffed. "But I knew this would happen. This Psyqualia. I also know you're going to lose this turn. Final Turn! Kai, you're not the only one with a trump card."

"Don't tell me..." Kai realized.

"Crying out in despair in the chaos that is silence, the power of shadowy darkness, obscuring all vision, is mine." Ren slammed down his card. "I crossride Phantom Blaster Overlord!"

"Phantom Blaster Overlord..." Kai breathed in disbelief.

"Just like The End, when you crossride Phantom Blaster Overlord on top of Phantom Blaster Dragon, it's power is 13000." Ren stated. "I call Phantom Blaster Dragon and Blaster Dark. I have three Blaster units. A grand sight, isn't it? I attack Burning Horn Dragon with Blaster Dark."

"No guard." Kai declared.

"Well, are you ready, Kai?" Ren mocked. "With a boost from Apocalypse, Phantom Blaster Overlord attacks. Apocalypse's Soulblast, +6000 power. And..." he drew out a card.

"No!" Aichi realized what Ren had intended to do. "Like The End, Phantom Blaster Overlord can..."

"I send it's reflection to the drop zone." Ren dropped the second Phantom Blaster Overlord into the drop zone. "Persona Blast. When Phantom Blaster Overlord attacks, if you discard the same unit from your hand, it receives +10000 power and an extra critical."

"He has a critical of 2." Rekka gasped. "If this one hits..."

"I can't lose." Kai promised. "I guard with two units of Blu-ray Dracokid and Burning Horn."

"38000 defense..." Aichi gaped. "With that, he can..."

"It's no use." Ren smirked. "Check the drive trigger. Got a critical trigger."

"Oh no..." Aichi breathed in shock.

"I add +5000 to the power of Phantom Blaster Overlord and give it the extra critical." Ren continued his attack.

"38000 power and a critical of 3?" Kourin was shocked.

"It's over." Harmonia sighed.

"End of the line?" Ren taunted. "Phantom Blaster Overlord delivers the final blow to The End! That makes 7 damage. Kai, the only way for you to survive is if you draw two heal triggers."

"I will." Kai swore. "Check. Second check. Got a heal trigger. I add +5000 to the power of The End and heal 1 point of damage."

"You have 1 check left." Ren prompted.

"I've been searching all this time for the strength to beat you, for this day." Kai remarked. "I'm going to draw it. I'll show you. And then I'm going to... third check."

"No trigger, huh?" Ren taunted. "I win." he declared.

"Kai lost...?" Aichi stood in disbelief.

"Looks like you got what you wished for." Kourin looked at Suiko.

"I'm not wishing for anything." Suiko corrected. "You know, don't you? Everything depends on the guidance of the cards."

"I won, just as I said I would." Ren bragged. "Everything happened the way Psyqualia showed me . Our friendship ended that day. It's too late to go back." he slammed the Cardfighting glove down. "The End." Kai, you're of no value to me anymore. All I need is Psyqualia. I'm grateful." he turned to Suiko, showing her the card she had given him. "Thank you for giving me this Phantom Blaster Overlord."

"As I thought." Harmonia turn a look at the eldest member of Ultra Rare.

"Suiko, you gave that to Ren?" Aichi blinked.

"Of course, even without this, my victory was never in doubt." Ren boasted.

"Why?" Kai questioned.

"Because, like you, he is also a Guardian." Harmonia replied. "So as of you, Sendou Aichi."

"Seriously!?" Kourin gasped in shock. "Three of four Harmonia-sama's Guardians are gathered in one place?"

"Me?" Aichi pointed to himself.

"A Guardian to one as you?" Ren scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous!" his breath was stopped short when he found himself trapped by the sheer pressure of Harmonia's immense aura.

"The 'Queen's Will'." Suiko stated, recognizing the power Harmonia exhibited. "Suzugamori Ren, your Psyqualia has indeed become extremely powerful, but remember, it had been Queen Isis who bestowed the blessing to you; she can take away that just as easily."

"Sendou Aichi, come with me." Harmonia instructed.

"Yes." Aichi followed the revealed Goddess to the field.

Kai and Ren, bound by the 'Queen's Will', as with the group on the sidelines, watched as Harmonia manifested a pair of weighing pans above her palms, two orbs of swirling light and darkness floated above each pan. "Suzugamori Ren chose a card of darkness. Light that consumes darkness; darkness that blankets the light. Sendou Aichi, it is time for you to choose."

"I..." Aichi started, the two cards within the twirling elemental orbs showing themselves.
