Okay guys, I know this isn't the longest chapter ever, in fact it's more of a filler but, it's got potential? Okay, so, I wrote it in a day, bear with me. I know I haven't updated in 44 days but, you know, I have a life. So, please expect my apology for the wait but I'm juggling 2 stories write now (I've kind of disowned the others). Actually, you know what? I'm going to do the story Ask in 'bout an hour, so drop a question in the review space if you'd like me to give an answer. Thanks guys, you've made me continue my other story! Okay, enjoy the chappie. Btw, I thought the last chapter was crappy.
"Dad…" Bianca, Nico, Percy and Hades sat in the strawberry fields on the edge of the camp boarder. The wind was gradually kicking up and settling. Percy's chin rested in his hands as he lay on his stomach and his feet swam through the air. Nico lay on his back frowning at the grey clouds. Hades was standing his long black coat flew in the wind as he looked down at the children. Bianca was sitting cross-legged pulling at grass.
"Yes, Bianca?"
"Why…why are you here?"
Hades sighs, "I'm going to get right to the point. Pack your bags, you're leaving this camp."
Bianca's head snaps up. Nico sits up.
Percy gapes. "Uncle Hades, you can't!"
"I can and will," he snaps.
Nico frowns, "But, why?"
Hades gives them all a pointed look, "Bianca wants to go back to the hotel, and Nico doesn't want to be a demigod."
Oh…so he heard that, Percy jumps up. "But," he pauses and points at Hades, "That's all of your fault."
Hades narrowed his eyes, "Enlighten me."
"Well, Bianca wanted to go back to the casino."
Hades rolls his eyes and remarks sarcastically, "No!"
"I didn't finish, genius," Percy growls and then mutters about when Hades became so sarcastic and mean. "You put her in that stupid casino in the first place leaving her to fend for herself and her toddler brother with some nanny in a time consuming hotel! If it weren't for Annabeth, my dad, and I, your children would be wasting their time away, possibly for forever! You're an awful father. Worse than my dad and Uncle Zeus, which is pretty remarkable. So there, you've been enlightened," Percy spat.
Hades jaw dropped and fell through the ground to China.
Nico smirked, "He's not quite enlightened yet, Percy."
Percy grinned, "Enlighten him, cousin."
"I," Nico jerked a thumb at himself, "Didn't want to be a demigod anymore because of you. You made me a demigod. I want my powers dad, they make me me. But when you come here demanding that we go with you back to that hotel…that hurt me, I'm pretty sure that hurt Bianca, and the way a fly flew into Percy's mouth and he didn't flinch, I think he was in shock." To the side Percy gasps as he coughs until a fly flutters out of his throat. Percy sprayed water into his mouth and spat it out.
"Nasty," he muttered.
"Anyways," Nico grinned. "That hurt all of us dad. I didn't understand why you'd dump that on us. We've already gone through so much. Your crazy grandmother turned us against each other and then you come in and tell us to leave behind the only place we've ever felt safe? It may not feel like home…but the people here make sure we feel welcome. We aren't our godly parents. Just…just because you're not welcome doesn't mean we're not. We just need you to understand that."
Hades sighs, "I just want to protect you," he insists.
"From what?" Nico demanded playing with the hem of his black shirt.
"From the fate of your mother."
Nico's head snapped up and Percy's breath hitched. Nico had told him and Annabeth a while back—Bianca didn't want to be there talking about the death of her mother. Nico was too young to understand but the thoughts were fresh in her mind. The River Lethe hadn't completely wiped her memory. She remembered the poem—it was written in stone. It was official.
Bianca's lip quivered and Percy swore he could hear her muttering to herself no to cry. "Okay, I…I'll go with you."
Percy bit his fist to refrain from tackling her. He really, really didn't understand why she'd leave behind the luxuries of camp.
"Well I'm not," Nico snarls, glaring at Bianca. "Thanks for ditching." He stalks away crossing his arms and muttering, "Stupido, sciocco, balordo, tonto, stolto, grullo, scemo, screntino…"
Hades shrugs and tells Bianca he's going to go talk to Nico. Bianca nods as her father walks away.
I smile sadly at Bianca opening up my arms. She gratefully accepts burying her head in his shoulder.
Percy whispers in her ear, "What did the oracle say."
Bianca seemed taken back because she didn't answer for a few seconds. She pulled away.
"She said"—Bianca finds interest on the darkening clouds.
Percy frowns, "Bianca, was it bad?"
"No," Bianca sighs. "It just didn't make sense." A fat raindrop landed on her nose. One by one the rain splattered more frequently and harder.
Percy shrugs at her pointed look. She obviously wanted him to do something abouf this rain. Unfortunately Percy didn't have much control over rain. "Recite it," Percy demands. "Quick."
"Your quest is not quite what it seems,
"The one is lost, but doesn't know,
"Yet when you figure out the hand is the key,
"All of the answers soon shall show."
Percy frowns, "Did you tell Annabeth?"
Bianca shakes her head, "Nope, that girl needs to mind her own business."
"O…kay," Percy cocks his head.
Bianca shrugs. "What? She pounced at me like a cat. A cat, Percy."
Percy smiles, "And Bianca, I have a feeling that this quest revolves around you."
"Well…I am the leader."
"Yes, but I feel like, you know, some lines have to do with you." Percy awkwardly shuffles his feet through the wet grass. "I don't know which, but my instincts aren't usually wrong."
Bianca snorts, "Please Percy, you don't have to lie to impress me."
Percy rolls his eyes, "Okay your dad is coming back. So, choose two people to accompany you on your quest." They both turn their heads towards a black figure holding what appeared to be an umbrella.
"Well duh, you Percy."
Percy grins but shakes his head, "Sorry, but I'm going to have to decline." Bianca glowers.
"Okay…well Nico's too young, so definitely Annabeth." Percy nods. "And maybe Allie?"
"Okay, so—"
"Bianca?" Hades walks forwards with some two bags in his hands.
"Yes, Father?"
"Ready to go?"
Bianca nods hesitantly, turning. Percy grabs her wrist, "Are you sure you want to do this?" he whispers.
"No, but I have a feeling I'll be back really soon."
Percy frowns, "I hope I don't have to celebrate my birthday without you…it's August 1st today, okay?"
"I'll be back by August 18th, okay?"
"Promise?"
Bianca nods and gulps, "Promise."
Percy watches as her father and her walk away. Bianca smiles and waves at him before disappearing.
Percy sighed as he turned and headed back to his cabin. She better not break that promise.
Like I said not the longest. I don't know what time it is where you are, but about an hour after this post, expect a post on my other story. Okay, thanks for reading! And you guys, your reviews really make my day, and I'm not kidding when I say when I get an email saying I got a review, I do a little happy dance and start the next chapter, so please review! Thank you.
