AN~ Edited. Heavily. (I actually ship this a little bit, still. Not a lot- they're sort of like brother and sister. But a little.)
Toby paced the hall in his normal skittering fashion, moving back and forth down the wood-paneled room without really seeing the lush blue carpet his eyes were focused on.
Rumplestiltskin, who sat on one of the plush, high-backed chairs on either side of the door, advised, "Calm down."
"I can't!" Toby practically wailed. As he did so, his legs grew thinner, and the more he walked, the more legs there seemed to be. "I'm getting married! I'm supposed to already be married! And Natalie's-"
"Natalie will be here," Rumplestiltskin said, giving his former child a look. "Now calm down before you rip that tuxedo. Your parents paid a lot for that."
And suddenly, Toby was calm. His legs slid back into a more human shape, and the young man collapsed onto the chair opposite his best man.
He glared across the hall and said, "I hate it when you do that."
"I know. But you needed it."
Before Toby could respond, the door opened, and Mrs. Arachnid popped her head into the hall.
"Toby!" she hissed to her son, "Hurry and get in here! Natalie's finally ready!"
Before she'd finished her sentence, Toby was up and pushing past her. Rumplestilskin followed more slowly, laughing. He really did love children, even if he used them. And Toby was one of his favorites. He deserved some happiness.
