I think 5 days later is an acceptable time to post. Yup. Anyway, hiya, thanks for the review again . YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS AN INPUT HERE AFTER ALL! THE OTHER 11 OF YOU APPARENTLY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! Okay, that's done, so have a nice read!
Jarvan sighed as he read the text message, shaking his head. Damn that vixen, she probably convinced Kat to take a break. He turned to Nasus. "Thanks again Nasus. I owe you."
"Don't think about it Jarvan," Nasus said with a bow, as they stood outside the Institute. "I'm happy to be of service. Where are you going next?"
"Mount Gargantuan to get crystals used to make the mana and health potions we use in the League."
Nasus tilted his head. "Couldn't you just purchase them here or at the mining outpost?"
"I could," Jarvan said, a grin coming across his face. "But I have a plan."
Just then, Wukong appeared in front of him, having just come through the same portal. He blinked in surprise as he saw Jarvan and Nasus right in front of him. "Oh…you're here?"
"Yes Wukong? Can I help you?" Jarvan asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Here ya go!" He handed the bag filled with jars, each one with a petal. "Wukong delivery service is done, peace!"
He walked through the portal before he could be thanked, heading to his home in Ionian to get some sleep and rest.
"Huh," Jarvan said, scratching the back of his head. "That was a thing."
Nasus turned to him, offering him a hand. "I must be on my way too. It has been a pleasure working with you Jarvan."
"Same to you Nasus," Jarvan shook his hand, smiling back at the giant.
"Also, you might want to change into your amour. It fits you much better," Nasus said with a chortle, heading through the portal once the controllers changed it for his homely deserts.
Jarvan headed his advice and headed for he nearest bathroom, thankfully I was in the same building, and changed into his armor.
"Now…to work out my plan...Skarner should be here right?"
The crystallized monster bens peaked of was walking through the Institute right then, humming to himself. He turned a corner and saw Jarvan standing right in front of him. To be more exact, he saw Jarvan's golden boots and slowly looked up, panicking.
"Hey there Skarner," Jarvan said with a sadistic smile, leaning down with a look that would intimidate even Barn Nashor. "We need to talk."
"Um…I-I-I…I didn't know lord Jarvan! Please forgive me!" Skarner screamed, bowing his head and shaking slightly, scared as to what would happen to him.
Jarvan grabbed Skarner by his tail and began dragging him to the portals, not saying a word.
"N-n-no! Lord Jarvan please forgive me!" Skarner tried to grab onto anything as he was dragged, but Jarvan just yanked him harder to dislodge him. Skarner grabbed onto a potted plant, Jarvan yanked him so the plant fell over, spilling dirt in the hall. Skarner grabbed onto a corner, a corner of a wall was found laying on the ground. Suffice to say, by the time they were outside, Skarner was bawling tiny crystals and leaving a trail of them and he janitors were pissed off. Well, they were happy for the crystals. They could fetch a petty price at least.
Once they were outside, Jarvan lifted the crystal, bawling creature and slapped him twice. "You done?"
He sniffled and nodded. "Yeah…I'm done…You're not going to kill me?"
"No, you're going to redeem yourself. Do you agree not to run?"
"Yes Lord Jarvan," Skarner said, bobbing his head up and down.
"Just Jarvan is fine." Jarvan set down Skarner, the monster doing a quick 360 to make sure everything was still attached and okay. "You listening?"
"Skarner looked up and nodded quickly. "Yes lord…I mean Jarvan."
He raised two fingers. "I have two demands. One, you apologize to Shyvana."
"But of course!" Skarner looked as if he already planned on doing such a thing.
"Second is, you help me get some crystals."
"Couldn't you just buy them?"
"Yes, but," Jarvan smiled as he lied through his teeth. This was just to allow Skarner to redeem himself. "I want the most pure ones I can find. I figured you could help me find them."
"…I can do that..after I apologize and help you get the crystals, we're good right?"
"With me you are, but if Shyvana wants to drop you from 1000 feet up to make you suffer, don't blame me."
Skarner sighed. "I honestly didn't know what I was doing, really I didn't!"
"Tell that to her, not me. I understand, Shyvana might not be so understanding."Skarner groaned, already thinking of what would happen to him. "Alright fine, just…but in a good word for me first alright?"
"If you get me the good crystals, then you got yourself a deal."
"Okay, let's go then." Skarner click clacked on the concrete walkway as they went into the building, click clacking on the marble bee walking over to the portal operators. He talked with them for a quick moment, before the portal started up, glowing a soft brown.
"Okay! See you on the other side!" Skarner called out behind him before skittering into the portal. Jarvan followed, his lance tapping the floor with every other step.
He blinked, raising a hand to above his head as he felt the shining sun beat down on him. This portal was more efficient than the others. It had wrought iron beams with purple crystals in them, glowing to keep the portal running. The walkway was made of plain concrete that had Mount Gargantuan Welcomes You Future Worker!
"Very…efficient," Jarvan commented, ignoring the lack of taste involved.
"Really? I always thought this place could use more crystal to make it attract tourists and stuff, but whatever. Anyway, follow me Lord Jarvan."
"I told you," Jarvan shook his head as he followed the crystal beast. "Just call me Jarvan."
They crested a hill, looking up to see the white snowy tip of the mountain peaking up. As the crested the hill, a giant cavern that was the mine crept into the mountain, splitting off into many different tunnels. At the main cave though, there was basically a town in it. Homes, basically shacks, rose along the walls, a bustling market where glimmering jewels were sold and traded was there, a church, everything. Jarvan could immediately spot out a few Ionian traders there, some wore the dark garbs of Noxian traders, and others wore the light, bright colors of Demacia. There were even some short yordles from the south that were buying different items.
"Hey hey now," Skarner said, noticing Jarvan had stopped and was staring. "C'mon now. You want to help your girlfriend don't you?"
"She's not my girlfriend!" Jarvan said, sighing as he did so. He had been snapped out of his daze buy Skarner's talking, and wished he was back in it. "Who keeps on spreading these rumors?"
"Ahri," Skarner said without a care in the world.
"Figures." Jarvan sweat dropped. It was also that damn kitsune messing with everyone and any relationships they had. Wait, he didn't have a relationship with her right? Well, a friendship counted as one right.
"Lord Jarvan…I mean Jarvan, if you keep on spacing out like this, maybe I shouldn't bring you into the mines."
"Sorry, sorry, I'm done spacing out now," Jarvan said, waving his hand. Focus Jarvan.
"Okay, then follow me."
They traveled into the cavern, heading down one of the many tunnels that headed down, deeper into the mountain. The crystals left by the miners provided enough light for them to travel deeper and deeper. Skarner was a regular there, so seeing him with someone else wasn't a big deal to anyone mining their own fair share of jewels and crystals. Of course, a portion went to the company that owned the mine, Stal Corporations.
They descended deeper and deeper into the mine, the temperature slowly rising as did the amount of crystals.
Jarvan wiped his brow, sweat coming off. "How deep are we?"
"Pretty deeper, the best crystals are around here. Don't worry…we're here!" Skarner said, stopping in front of a crystal. He mined it out with his claws, holding the solid crystal triumphantly in his hand. "Yup! Pure, 100% Health Crystal. If you wanted to sell this raw, it'd be worth about, hmmm, a good few thousand. Ground up or in a potion, a few ten thousand."
"Seriously?" Jarvan let out a low whistle, taking the crystal. "One of two down. We just need a mana crystal as well. This pure too."
"Seriously?" Skarner sighed. "Fine, fine, you stay here. You don't have a mask on or any kind of protection for the heat." Skarner looked around before chopping out a purple crystal and handing it to him. "Teleport to the exit with this. Picture where you want to go to get there. I'll be up eventually, okay?"
"Okay Skarner, I'll trust you." Jarvan smiled a deadly nice smile. "But if you run, well….you know."
"Y-y-yes sir!" Skarner then immediately turned away, running down the tunnel as his claws ticked tacked on the stone ground.
"Alright…so that's done…" Jarvan decided not to teleport and just to walk. It was some form of exercise, and it was the only he was getting today. "Damn you Talon," he swore as he walked. "You're worse than Ahri and not as fun."
About an hour later, as Jarvan was humming to himself something he had once heard Sona play when Skarner skittered out of the tunnel, scampering over to Jarvan.
"I found one! It was in pretty deep. I was lucky I found it before the miners." He placed the crystal in Jarvan's outstretched hand, who took it with a smile.
"Thank you Skarner." He examined the deep, ocean blue crystal that seemed to swirl inside of itself. "This is a pure mana crystal."
"100% pure otherwise my name isn't Skarner!" he swore, smiling as much as a crystal monster could. "Also…I don't want to piss you off."
"Probably a good idea." Jarvan took the crystal and bowed. "Thank you Skarner for your assistance. Your dept to me has been repaid, but don't forget about Shyvana."
Skarner shook slightly. "I know I know! I'll talk to her instead of making her hunt me down. I don't have a death wish you know!"
"If you say so. But I don't care that much. It's your life, not mine after all."
"You're so cruel Jarvan," Skarner said softly, sweat dropping.
"Well that's all for now Skarner. If I need you for anything else you will respond if I call you up right?"
"Of course!" Skarner waved to Jarvan as he headed back to the portal. "See ya Jarvan! Oh wait." Skarner waited until he turned around. "If you ever need crystals, call me. I can get you them for free."
"Alright, thanks for helping me Skarner, and Shyvana."
"No problem." As Jarvan headed away, Skarner sighed happily to himself. At least I helped a bit right? 'm glad. I would've hated to constantly be thinking about what I did.
That was Jarvan's intention all this time. With the money he had as a prince, he could have very easily just bought it in the market, but he rather have Skarner get it so he wouldn't beat himself up over all of this. This was all Talon's fault after all, not Skarner's.
Jarvan smiled as he headed to the portal, walking through it and to the Institute Of War."Now," he said aloud to himself. "Who could I have make this for me? Maybe Heimendinger…maybe…but he's better with robots than potions. Hmm…I can make it myself. Can't be too hard right?"
A little bit shorter, I know, sorry. But I'm already working on the next one. It'll come out when it does though, so don't push for it. Qopster wishes you all a nice day!
