Dark Shyvana walked a little bit behind Talon as they got out of the hijacked car, watching him hum to himself as they went into what seemed to be a rundown apartment building in the outskirts of Noxus.
"Why are we here Lord Talon?"
"Oh…no reason…" he said with a smirk as he went in through the backdoor. They went down a flight of steps to the basement, a rat crawling past them.
"We need some light. Shyvana if you would be so kind."
"Yes sir," she lit a ball of fire in her hand, illuminating the room. Talon walked over to a rotting wooden cabinet and pushing it out of the way, revealing a stairwell that went down for what seemed like eternity.
"Well, get moving," Talon ordered with a sneer, pushing her forward so she stumbled.
"Yes sir." She said without a hint of emotion. She started walking down robotically, scaring away any vermin with her fire while Talon followed behind her. 10 minutes passed, then 20, then 30 before another source of light was finally seen.
Talon pushed her out of the way, hopping down the last few steps before a large tunnel appeared in their view. He let out a sigh of relief and stretched, groaning. "Thank god we're out of there, it's nice to finally be able to stretch. You can put your light out too Shyvana, this place is lit."
He wasn't lying. Crystals hung out of the walls, jammed in every 10 or so feet to keep the place lit up. The tunnels they were on were made by Noxian spies for traveling, and stretched all the way from Noxus to Demacia. Shyvana quickly smothered her flames, before following Talon as they went down the hall, their feet hitting the packed dirt at a quick pace. Talon seemed to be in a hurry.
Talon had a devious grin on as thoughts ran through his head of what he would do with Kat. That bitch, she turned her back on me. I'm getting payback for that. You turn your back on an assassin, expect to get stabbed! Hmm…what if I were to mess up that guy she has a crush on? What was his name? The guy with the giant sword for compensation…um…
"Shyvana," he asked aloud, gaining her robotic like attention. "What's the name of the idiot from Demacia with a giant sword?"
"Do you mean Garen, lord Talon?" She said, blinking at him, her eyes still swirling with the darkness.
"Yeah, him, him, do you know where he lives?"
"At the palace where Lux, his sister, Jarvan," her eyes flashed in recognition of the name, before being quieted by the darkness. "And with the others of the Demacian family. He stays there during the day on the weekends to train with the soldiers. He sleeps at the Institution and trains there during the weekdays."
"Hm…and what day is it today?"
"Today is Saturday the 18th, two thousand a~"
"I asked for the day!" He punched her in the face, sending her reeling back. "Do you not understand me bitch?!"
"Sorry my lord." She stood straight. "Shall we get going?"
"Hmph, fine. Tell me, where would be the best place to ambush him?"
"When he gets lunch. He always goes to the same ramen place, and there are many alley ways around him."
"Ah, good, well, let's hurry then."
Even with them hurrying, they had to wait until the next day. Thankfully, they found an abandoned building near the exit of the tunnel, which they decided to use as their HQ for this.
Garen stepped out of an oriental style place, wearing his giant armor with his giant sword strapped to his back as he brushed away the cloth curtain door thing.
"Thanks for the meal, it was great!" He said with a thumbs up to the chef.
"Come again Garen!" The chef said, sliding the money into the cash register while pushing the dozen bowels of ramen into the sink, calling for one of his sub chefs to clean them.
He rubbed his stomach, humming happily to himself as he did so. Mmm, nothing like a wonderful ball of ramen to fill my belly! I wonder if they'll have more lamb next time I come, it's a shame I made them run out.
He looked in surprise as Shyvana walked in front of him, blocking his path. "Why hello there Lady Shyvana! I'm glad to see you're out of the hospital!" He gave a large laugh, sticking out a hand to shake hers. "I hope you're feeling better."
Shyvana said nothing, just stared at him with cold, dark eyes. She grabbed his hand and twisted it before hurling him over her own body, using the strength of the dragon she had. She smashed him into the ground, knocking the breath out of him. She hopped on top of him, launching a flurry of punches at his face.
He raised his hands to take the blows, protecting his face. "S-shyvana? Did I say something to upset you?" he crocked out, still trying to get his breath back. "I'm sorry I must do this…" he reared back his fist and hit her in the stomach, but she didn't budge. A trickle of blood came out of her mouth, but she kept on swinging at his unprotected face, growling in fury.
Garen slowly raised his already bruised arms to protect himself. What is going on?! Shyvana should have gone flying, or passed out from that punch! I can see the blood coming from her mouth! What is she doing to herself? Aloud he said, "Shyvana…stop…you're hurting yourself a lot!"
She kept on going. "Lord…Talon…told…me to…I must…fulfill…his…wishes …" She growled out. She reared back her fist, swinging it down hard to crack his armor, and more importantly, break his bone. He only had one arm left to block her punches, so she swung both at the same time at either side of his head. He blocked her right arm, but the left hit, knocking him out.
Shyvana stood, her knuckles bloody, her mouth leaking a trickle of blood, and her breathing hard as she lifted the larger man and carried him to the abandoned building on the outskirts of Demacia.
She set him down before opening the door, dragging him in and pulling him into the basement where she was told to take him. She stripped him of his armor and weapons, setting them to the side. He was wearing nothing more than a work out shirt that stuck to his body, showing off his muscles and a pair of baggy pants that made it seem as if he had been working out recently.
She tended to her wounds while she was there, grabbing a health potion that was sitting there and drinking it all to heal her insides. The potion also strengthened the shadow's control on her though. She took some gauze and wrapped it around her knuckles, cracking them slowly.
She turned and looked at Garen as he woke up, groaning in pain. She walked around and sat on the ground, 10 feet away from him, but stared at him unblinkingly. He slowly shook his head, his entire body aching but his head was throbbing where she hit him. He raised his head and looked at Shyvana.
"Why did… you do that?" he asked after a few moments, his breathing labored.
"…" she said nothing and only continued her vigilant watch.
"Are you really Shyvana?"
"…"
"Where's Jarvan?"
"…" but this time her eyes flashed in recognition. Garen, even being an idiot noticed this.
"What about Ahri?" her eyes flashed to red again. "Soraka? Sona? Nami?"
Her eyes were flashing back and forth between red, and black in a constant strobe like pattern. She groaned and brought her head in between her knees, her mind fighting for control.
Talon came down the steps and noticed. "You obey me Shyvana."
"Yes m'lord," she said obediently, her eyes back to red with the swirling darkness, any chance Garen had of breaking it disappearing.
"Aw, crap," Garen said, looking up as talon walked in.
"Good you're awake, or, and here pet," he handed her a sandwich. "I bought this along with my food, I figured you would deserve a reward for your hard work."
"Thank you sir," she said, taking the sandwich and eating it silently while Talon directed his attention elsewhere.
"So…Mr. Garen…would you like to know what's going to happen to you?" Talon said as he withdrew a dagger, running his tongue along it with a sadistic gleam.
"Not really," Garen said, looking up at him. "I have a feeling you'll tell me anyway."
"Well to put it one way." He twirled a dagger in his hand and pointed it at his face. "I'll show you why I'm a cut above the rest." He gave a little sadistic giggle while Garen screamed as he went to work."Remember Shyvana, this will happen to you if you disobey me," Talon said as he worked, humming happily to himself.
"Yes my lord…" she said, watching on as part of her in her head screamed in horror, recording every image she saw in front of her.
Shyvana carried the limp and lifeless form of Garen in the cover of night through the Institute, having knocked out the night guard quickly, she set everything up as she had been instructed to, before running back out and taking the teleporter back to Demacia.
Katarine rolled out of her soft bed at the Institute of War, stretching as she yawned loudly, happy just to be able to relax. Sure, talon had escaped and Shyvana went psycho, but still, it could we worse right? Damn me for helping Talon though, she thought to herself, grabbing her flannel pjs tighter. They were a dark purple, the colors of Noxus.
She stripped and went to take a quick shower, coming out when she was done with a towel wrapped around her hair and body. She ran a comb through her hair as it dried, straightening it as much as she could, totally not for Garen, she reminded herself.
She got dressed in her normal League clothes. She went down to the cafeteria, grabbing a cup of coffee along with a bagel and cream cheese, and two boiled eggs. She ate the eggs as she walked to go get ready to fight, grabbing a newspaper. The front page was nothing intresting, just all about Sports.
"Hiya~!" Ahri said, coming out of nowhere and bumping into Kat. "How's Kitty Kat doing~?"
She gripped the newspaper tighter, making it crinkle slightly. "Ahri…" she said through clenched teeth. "I thought…I told you…not to call me…Kitty kat…"
"Yeah, but you look so cute in that outfit~!" Ahri said with her smirk.
""It was probably some summoner trying to put me into one of his fetishes, that's all!" She growled.
"Hmm, yeah, but I was talking with Garen once, and he even said it was cute~!"
"Huh?" Her fury quickly died out, and she relaxed her grip on the paper, poking her two pointer fingers together. "Oh...um…" her face was bright scarlet. "M-maybe I'll wear it one day….y-you know for Halloween, not for him of course!"
"Heh heh, of course not for Garen~!" She stuck her tongue out at Kat, giggling at her obvious discomfort. "Anyway, it's no biggy, you're not-so-secret crush on Mr. Oblivious is safe with me!"
"T-thank you…hey! What do you mean no-so-secret? …AHRI!"
"Heh heh!" She danced away from her clawing hands. "Don't get mad at me! Everyone knows! Except ya know, the oblivious ones!"
"Oh…sorry…" Kat stopped chasing her, and they walked in silence to the lobby room. Everyone was crowded by the entrance, summoners and champions alike.
"What's going on?" Ahri asked, confused. She looked and tapped Kayle who was nearby and could fly up to see what was the big ruckus. "What's going on?"
"Let me check." She flew up, jerking her head back, before coming back down. "Oh…my…lord…that's just…who could do something like that? We're all safe in here after all."
"What is it?" Kat asked, getting impatient.
"You of all people shouldn't look. Ahri, go take a look if you so wish."
"Alright, be right back guys!" She used her ult and was back within two flashes, her face pale and clearly shaken up. "Kat, don't look, you'll…be really upset."
"Fuck this, I'm looking."
"No don't!" The two said, trying to stop her but it was hard to stop an assassin. She dodged their grabbing arms, even through all of Ahri's nine tails and stood by the entrance, staring in shock.
"What…the…" It was Garen, his arms and legs broken and twisted into odd angels. He had cuts all across his body, some still bleeding, and he was so pale it looked like he was on death's doorstep. "Hey…Garen…" she reached out and laid a hand on his shoulder, feeling his heartbeat and pulse. They were weak but there. She could feel tears building up. "Garen?...Garen?!...GAREN!?" tears were flowing down her cheeks as she slammed her hand into the wall. "DAMNIT!? Who did it?!" shwe wirled around on the startled crowd, looking like a feral animal almost. "WHO?!"
Ahri pushed her way to the front of the crowd and wrapped her arms around the other girl, letting her fall into her arms sobbing. She looked up and saw a note on the wall, it read as follows.
Dear Katarina,
This is from your lovely friend Talon, and his assistant, Shyvana. I'll be honest, this is one of my most fine works of torture in this decade. I think I deserve a medal for this. Regardless, this is what happens when you mess with me. Have a nice day
-Love Talon.
Kat turned around and noticed it, reading it and crying more loudly. She wiped them away, her eyes filled with fury. "Talon," she swore quietly. "I will get you, get Shyvana back, and fuck…you…up…"
