Shyvana sat, crouched on the roof of the building they had on the outskirts of Noxus. She hummed softly, not knowing that she was humming a song created by Sona, that she had played when she was unconscious.
"Dragon bitch!" Talon called out, getting her attention. "Get your lazy ass down here."
"Yes m'lord." She went down three flights of steps before going down into the basement, getting down on one knee as she stayed there. In the room where some unsavory looking characters, all of them Noxian mercenaries. Some had limbs missing, others had eyes, or scars that crossed their bodies.
One of them, a guy who towered over most of them with large bulging muscles that screamed steroid usage looked down at her and smirked. "This tiny one can be of any help?"
A flash of the old Shyvana showed up. "Would you like to put your money where your mouth is?"
"Talon just rolled his eyes. "She is, and if you want to fight then you can. I can't say whether or not you will be alive though."
"Hmph, we'll see." He pulled out a giant battleaxe, twice the size of Shyvana's human form and swung it down at her in a low arc. She caught it in her hands, sliding sideways a bit, her feet skidding across the basement floor before she stopped.
"What the? Let go!"
"If you want me to," She used all of her force, her eyes burning with black fire as she used all of her force to send it flying, imbedding it in the basement's dirt walls, sinking the blade half way in. She stood there, panting as she cracked her neck. "Anyone else?"
"Shyvana, get that out of the wall." Talon ordered with a roll of his eyes. "We need his brute force with that axe."
She nodded, walking over. She had to wiggle it slightly before yanking it out, handing it to the surprised brute. "If you order me to, then so shall I be done."
"Hmph, you have surprisingly well control over her Talon," another man commented, his face covered in scars with an eye missing. He carried a pair of swords on his back.
"I had some friends of mine," he laughed at that. "Prepare me a little something, something to make her my loyal servant. I mean watch. Si," he ordered. She sat down like a dog. "hand." She raised a hand. "Roll over." She rolled over. "Good girl," he said, patting her head. She just stared up at him, her eyes just back to their normal swirling darkness on top of red state.
The gathered mercenaries laughed at this display. "So could you even fuck her if you felt like it."
"We could, consider that an added reward if this all goes smoothly." They all cheered at this, pumping their fists in the air. Stupid mercenaries. They're so easy to buy out if you mention promises of bear and boobs, he thought to himself with a small smirk. "Back to the plan…"
"Hey," One of the guards said, looking at the other.
"Yeah?"
"Ever wonder why we're here?" Guard one asked.
"To protect the front gate so that we get paid and can live happily ever after."
"Well yeah, but I mean on a metaphysical sense."
"Wow, using a big boy word now aren't we?"
"Shut up," Guard One said, scowling at him. "I mean like, why are we here? Specifically us? We were just the lucky one to get guard duty?"
"You mean the unlucky ones," Talon said with a smirk, as he threw two daggers, one into each of their back causing them to fall forward, dead. A crimson pool formed where the daggers landed as Talon walked over and yanked them out, wiping them clean on the guard's faces.
"C'mon Shyvana, get your lazy ass over here."
"Yes sir, sorry for taking so long." She came over, blood on her face and armor. She had taken out the other guards nearby, maybe twenty in total, and had a nice pile of corpses of the ones she used to train with, in the fountain.
"Well, shall we give the king and prince a visit?"
"If that is what you wish."
Talon pulled out a crystal glowing purple. "The guards are down, I repeat the guards are down. Mercenaries, how about you guys get in here?"
From the alleys and shadows surrounding the front of the palace, all of the mercenaries came out, seeming to just form from the shadows themselves. They snickered as they came forward, the giant man with the battleaxe leading them."
"Well, you know what o do," Talon said, looking up at the battlements. "I have my own job of course…"
(Inside the palace)
A large bell on the top of the guardhouse began ringing, it's loud bongs resonating throughout the palace grounds. Bong! Bong! Bong! Silence. It repeated the pattern, the pattern that announced they were under attack.
Jarvan awoke to the sound, groaning as he got up. That's not for training exercises… he looked out the window. And it's too early and nothing's on fire, so it's not a Noxian invasion…maybe spies? I need to go protect my father then.
He strapped on his armor and grabbed his spear, heading to the throne room.
"Sir, what's going on?" An alert guard asked, rushing to Jarvan's side. Matching his brisk pace.
"I don't know. Gather as many men inside the walls though, get archers on the battlements. I don't know who, or what this is, but we can stop them. We are the might of Demacia!"
"Yes sir!" The soldier said, saluting him before rushing off to give the orders. He found some maids cowering, and tapped one on the shoulder.
"Lord Jarvan?" One of the a startled ones asked.
"I know you are all worried, but listen to me. Go around and take any others you meet that aren't soldiers and lead them to the kitchen. Hide in there until everything is all over, that is all I ask of you," he said, getting on a knee to emphasize how important it was.
"L-lord Jarvan, no need to do anything like that," one of them said hurriedly. "We'd be glad to help!" they said before rushing off.
"Thank you ladies," Jarvan said as he got up, watching them leave.
He started walking up several flights of stairs before entering the teleporter rooms. He talked quickly to one of the operators, telling him to go to the Institute and see if Lux and maybe a few others could come and help.
It was a detour he had to take, but he quickly headed back to the throne room, seeing his father already awake and sitting on the throne, generals running to and from the room to ask what was going on. Jarvan pushed past them all and stood by his father's side, who was busy talking to one of the many generals.
As soon as he left, his father looked up at Jarvan. "I know who is coming. Shyvana and Talon."
Jarvan gripped his spear tighter, grimacing at her name. "How do you know?"
"Call it an old man's intuition. The guards will be disposed of, they will get into this room…have you tried contacting our allies who stay in the Institute?"
"I have ordered some others to do it. They should arrive sooner, rather than later." Jarvan's brow furrowed. "Are you saying this attack was sponsored by Noxus?"
"I'm saying no such thing. I'm saying that talon might be doing his of his own accord." Jarvan's father sighed, massaging his forehead. "I'm getting tired of these young kids being idiots like him. Does he not realize he could start another war to tear apart the continent again?"
"He probably just wants the fame or something equally trivial," Jarvan said with a shake of his head. "Regardless, I will protect you."
"Thank you son," his father smiled before seeing another person approach him. "Hopefully, this will be over soon, in our favor."
At the Institute of War, an alarm went off that was rarely if ever used. Everyone knew what it meant, it was a sign that all champions needed to be summoned in the main lobby.
The growled and grunted as they got, all of them coming out in their pjs somewhat to a lot of annoyed. The benefit that a few guys thought of where the fact that some, like Ahri, had little on in the form of Pjs, but then again, what did you expect?
One of the summoners had a clipboard out, marking of each champion who came in. "Okay, so everyone except the shadow Isle residents, Talon, and Shyvana are here? Good enough. Take the floor."
A middle aged man with a goatee came forward, breathing hard from all the running his 5 foot frame had to run. "Okay, so." He took a deep breath. "ThecastlewhereLordjarvanthefourthand hisfatherourkingis~"
He got cut off by Jinx. "HEY DIPSHIT! We can't tell what you're saying! Slow the fuck down! You're messing up some of our beauty sleep for this." There was a general grumbling of agreement, making the man run his hand through his wavy black hair.
"Alright, sorry." He calmed down a bit. "Noxus seems to have gone to war with us, the Demacians."
The Noxian members looked at each other, confused. They were told nothing, and they were the strongest of all of Noxian's soldiers after all. Swain came forward, his crow cawing out annoyed at having been woken, his cane clicking on the floor. He had on a normal t shirt and a pair of black pj bottoms.
"Whoever you are, I have heard nothing of an invasion planned. I am the master tactician, would I have not heard of something?"
"That's right," Darius said as he came forward. "I have heard nothing either."
"Draven heard nothing of Draven declaring war on Demacia," he said, walking up in his pjs that had his own face across them.
"Would not at least one of us have heard about it first?" Swain asked with a raised eyebrow.
"But who else would attack the castle where Lord Jarvan the Fourth and Our glorious king?"
"I have an idea of who's at your doorstep," Kat said, coming forward. Her usually straight red hair was a mess, as she stopped caring about it, instead staying with Garen at the infirmary. "Talon. Which means Shyvana's there too."
A low murmur went through the gathered champions. As is normal for the tightly knitted group of champions, information, along with some crazy rumors spread throughout them, but one thing was sure. Nobody would protect such a person after what they learned.
"Well then!" Tristana whipped out her cannon and gave a loud laugh. "Let's go Boom Boom to Talon!"
Swain shook his head while the champions roared in agreement. "Fellow Champions," he started, but couldn't be heard. He sighed and just used his ult, sending crows around him as he screamed. "CHAMPIONS!"
They went silent after that, allowing Swain to return to his previous form. "Thank you. That would be unwise though, we don't need this to become total war, although it might already. The only ones who should go should have good reasons for going. Those would be friends or those affected by what has happened, am I wrong?"
The man who delivered the message nodded. "Yes, those are the people I came for."
In the end, it was decided Lux, Sona, Ahri, Galio, Xin Zhao Caitlyn, Vi, Soraka, and Nami would go. They got dressed and left with everyone else's well wishes and good luck. What they didn't realize that Kat had vanished, gotten dressed, and followed them to the teleporter, hopping into it to head for the castle before it closed.
At the castle, the front gate was ripped off its hinges and sent flying. The giant man with his battleaxe stood there, the small squad of rogues and mercenaries brandishing their respective weapons. Outside on the battlements, the archers and magicians were dead from either Shyvana's fire, Talon's blades, or the mercenaries crossbow bolts and gunshots.
The mercenaries let out a loud roar as they charged forward to meet the squad of Demcian's shoulders, shields and swords out and ready to battle.
On the battlements, Shyvana and Talon stood there, Shyvana covered in the blood of the guards she had once known. "Well, let's go," Talon said, turning to head down the flight of stairs to get to the main hallway. "While they distract, we can pay the king and prince a visit."
"Yes sir," Shyvana said softly, her eyes flickering with more fire than before.
