AN~ I deleted the original chapter, which was a songfic to "Just the Girl" by The Click Five. When I wrote it, it was original, but like ten other people have written a songfic to that song, and mine is definitely not the best, so I figured I might as well just start over.

Set somewhere before book five.

Little John loved to sing.

It wasn't something he advertised, because the Merry Men were about being manly- archers and staff fighters and swordsmen and heroes. They weren't about being artistic (except for disguises. Those were different).

But it was one of his favorite things. And to be honest, he thought he was pretty good.

So when there was an advertisement at Old King Cole's for a karaoke night, he was determined to go.

Of course, he was also determined not to be caught, so he didn't tell anyone his plans, and whenever anyone mentioned the karaoke night in his presence, he made sure to ridicule the idea- not too much, of course, because he didn't want anyone to get suspicious. He just wanted to throw them off the scent.

And then he snuck off to attend.

There were a lot of people in the crowded restaurant, and a good number of them were humans. He didn't mind humans. They weren't his friends. So he got his dinner and waited for his turn to go up and sing.

It wasn't until he was up on stage that he saw Robin, Will Scarlet, Friar Tuck, and some of the other Merry Men sitting at a table across the room from him.

It was too late now, though. So he sang his heart out, glaring at them the entire time while his friends grinned.

Once he was done, he stormed over to their table. "What are you doing here?" he demanded before they could make fun of him.

Robin grinned. "We saw you sneak out and wanted to see where you were heading."

"I didn't know you could sing!" Will said. "You're good, man!"

Little John rolled his eyes. "I snuck off for a reason, you know."

"What, to keep how excellent a singer you are a secret?" Robin said, still grinning. "You should have told us! I'd have had you sing at my wedding!"

Well, the secret was out. Little John sat down with a sigh and decided to accept it. And force his friends up to sing, too.
