Riley woke up with a splitting headache and wet leaves tangled in her hair. The last thing she remembered was Tamara giving her a sedative in the cannery after Riley refused to reveal any secrets about the covens and laughed off their pathetic attempts at torture. Her own personal entertainment was watching the vein in Greg's forehead throb in anger as she gave silly answers to their questions. Instead of the cannery, she found herself in the middle of a hot jungle, near a lake. Henry, sitting beside her, smiled when he noticed that she was awake and hugged her tightly. She tensed up, resisting the urge to shove his head into the sand. His hands were tied together with rope.

"Riley, I didn't think you'd ever wake up."

"Where are we?"

"Neverland. Greg and Tamara brought us here through a portal to destroy magic. Whoever they're working for wanted us too. I don't think they even know who's in charge. They left to get firewood."

"Did you see anyone else from that home office yet?"

"No. Tamara tried to call them on her satellite phone but it was filled with sand. There weren't any batteries. Isn't that weird?"

"I've seen weirder," she said, rubbing the back of her head.

"It'll be okay. My family will find us. They're on their way right now."

"If you manage to keep that optimism when you're my age, I'll give you a million dollars."

The cuff was still clasped around her wrist, restricting her magic. She stood up, wiping sand from her jeans, and glanced around their surroundings, taking mental notes of every possible path through the jungle. Greg and Tamara returned with piles of firewood and he began to build a fire. Tamara showed her the faulty satellite phone, the inside of it covered with sand.

"Did you do this?"

"I have a cuff that makes it impossible for me to use magic. How could I mess with your phone? You seem paranoid."

"I'm not."

"You sure? I mean, I would be asking all kinds of questions about who I'm really working for and if they are committed to the same cause as me."

"Stop trying to get in her head. Stay quiet or I'll knock you out again."

"I'm shaking. The grown up boy scout is threatening me."

"Without your magic, I doubt you could hurt me with a single punch. You're the one at a disadvantage."

"You got me there."

As he used a box of matches to start a small fire, she heard a soft rustling in the trees. A group of boys, nearly a dozen, in tattered clothing emerged from the trees, led by a tall blonde boy in his late teens. He leaned a wooden staff casually on his shoulder. The other boys were carrying weapons like bows, spears, and knives.

"Who are you?" asked Greg, warily.

The blonde boy grinned. "We're the home office. Welcome to Neverland."

Greg and Tamara's faces were like that of a child finding out that Santa was not real. They had been extremely committed to the cause of destroying magic that they blindly listened to the 'home office', never questioning any of their missions or who was giving them the orders. No matter how many kinds of people they imagined, Riley doubted that they expected their bosses to be a group of teenagers. Fear flickered in his eyes as he noticed Riley standing behind Henry. It was quickly replaced with a cheeky grin as he revealed that their so-called mission to destroy magic was all a lie.

"Now the boy…hand him over. The girl as well."

Tamara moved in front of them. "Not until you tell us the plan…for magic…for getting home."

"You're not getting home."

"Then you're not getting either of them," said Greg.

The boy chuckled. "Of course we are."

A shadow, the same one that had been flying around minutes before, swooped down and ripped away Greg's own shadow, leaving him a lifeless shell on the ground. While Henry hurried into the jungle, Riley merely took two steps back and watched Tamara get shot with a poisoned arrow in the back. Three of the boys kept their weapons raised and pointed towards Riley. The others looked just as fearful as their blonde leader, some refusing to make eye contact.

"I'm guessing those three are new. Do you want to tell them to put their little sticks down or should I?"

"What are you doing here?" asked the boy, failing at sounding intimidating.

"Don't worry your little blonde head, Felix. I didn't come to start any trouble."

"He will want to see you personally. You'll come back with me to the camp."

"Hmm, I'm not sure about that," she said, conjuring a flame in her hand.

The boys, including Felix, stepped back, frightened. She removed the cuff from her wrist and twirled it between her fingers.

"Clever idea, really, but did you honestly think it would work on someone like me?"

"What do you want?"

"That is none of your concern. Like I said, I'm not here to start any trouble. What's his interest in that little snot?"

"I won't divulge his secrets. Take my advice and leave this island as soon as possible."

"As long as I get what I want. You have a good…is it morning or night? I can never tell on this damn island. Good luck finding the boy. Oh and give him a message for me. If he sends any of you to follow me, I'll send your heads back to him in a little box."

"You'd do well to remember who is in charge in Neverland."

"And you should remember what happens if I get angry."

Riley walked past him, the other boys moving out of her way as though she was on fire. After pricking her finger on a sharp branch, she conjured an intricate map of the island and placed three drops of blood on the parchment. The droplets moved in the same direction, towards the northeast side of the island. She followed the path on the map, blocking out the sounds of crying children...

~Killian~

After the Dark One's sudden departure, there was a quiet tension aboard the Jolly Roger. Though they were working together to rescue Henry, their old rivalries were not forgotten and it would not be easy for them to put aside their differences. Killian was sure that it was only a matter of time before Regina threatened to turn David into a frog or decided to leave them behind, following the Dark One's example. Henry seemed to be the one thing keeping their alliance from falling apart.

Killian was sitting in his room below deck, flipping through one of Liam's old books. He enjoyed reading his brother's nautical books to calm his mind, particularly when he was having troubling thoughts. Placing the book back on the shelf, he left his room and walked along the corridor, where he spotted Swan repeatedly pulling herself up on a bar in one of the rooms. She was the most affected by the Dark One's harsh words, how she would fail due to her inability to believe in what people in her land thought of as impossible, though he believed that it was more than a lack of faith from the Dark One that was weighing on her mind. She looked unamused by his attempts at making light of the situation.

"What do you want?" she asked, jumping down.

"To give you something."

Using a key, he opened a drawer, mentioning his time spent with Baelfire. She was insistent on calling him by Neal, the name he assumed in the land without magic and the tone of her voice suggested that she was still coping with his death. He handed her the sword that Baelfire learned to fight with when he was aboard the Jolly Roger. Swan glanced up at him, surprised.

"I didn't realize you were sentimental."

"I'm not," he said, his fingers brushing against something in his pocket.

Killian handed her a glass and poured rum from his flask into it, offering a toast to Baelfire. She tapped the glass against his flask and downed the rum in one sip.

"You're worried about her as well. Renato…"

"Well, that council made it pretty clear that we have to get her back alive and I'm just remembering the last time I saw her. I said some things that I'm really regretting now. I was telling her about the plan to use the beans to go back to the Enchanted Forest and she was completely against it. At the time, I thought she was just being stubborn but now I think it's something else. What if she thought that Pan would have an easier time getting her in the Enchanted Forest?"

"You believe Pan is the one who was after her?"

"It makes sense, doesn't it? Greg and Tamara brought her to Neverland for a reason and I let them because I am a terrible protector."

"It's hardly your fault, Swan. When Pan wants something, he tends to get it, no matter what, but Renato's a resourceful lass. Stubborn as they come but resourceful. For all we know, she's escaped from Pan and is hiding somewhere with your boy."

"For someone who never even met her, besides seeing her kick the crap out of a bunch of guys, you're really optimistic."

Killian took another swig from his flask. "I had a few encounters with her."

"When?"

"In New York. She made sure that I was tied up in that closet to prevent me from ensuring the Dark One's death," he replied, telling a partial lie.

"You've got a lot of stuff in here. Anything to help us against Pan?"

Swan picked up random objects on the table. He stood up when she opened a small wooden chest filled with trinkets. Using his hook, he slammed the chest shut and placed it on the highest shelf.

"What's in there? Your secret treasure stash?" she joked.

"Things from my past…when I was a young boy."

"And you say you're not sentimental. What's so special about this?"

Swan held up a wooden whistle. "It belonged to an old friend. She carved it herself to use for hunting."

"I'm guessing this old friend isn't still around since you're like five hundred years old."

"She perished long before my revenge against the Dark One began. A fire and my own stupidity took her life."

The ship began to rock back and forth roughly and he heard a loud creaking noise above deck. Swan followed him out of the room to find the source of the noise…

~Riley~

Even with her detailed map and a locater spell, it was difficult to navigate the sweltering jungle. It seemed like every other minute, she found herself in the same exact spot or at a dead end. She threw the map in frustration as she passed by the same tree for the twentieth time.

"This can't be right. The spell—"

Looking at the tree, a tall yew with gnarled branches and scorch marks on its trunk, her heart dropped into the pit of her stomach. She realized why the map was leading her to this spot over and over again. Her own magic was overriding the locater spell, due to her emotions and the significance of the tree. Getting down on her knees, she brushed away the shrubs at the base of the tree where a single word was carved into the trunk: Karina. An image of herself being thrown against the tree by a dark-haired man flashed through her mind. He pinned her arms to her side.

"I—I didn't know."

"You're lying to me. You've been hiding it with magic. I had a feeling—I was right. You hid it from me because it's not mine. It's his."

"No. It's—"

"Don't lie to me!"

"You're hurting me. Let go."

"I can't let you keep it. It'll only be a constant reminder of your old life and him. We're supposed to be starting over. Don't be upset. We'll have plenty of our own," he said, cupping her cheek.

"No. I don't want anything of yours. I want to go home."

"I'm your home! You think that fool is waiting for you to return? He's forgotten all about you. I've seen it for myself. He's too busy getting drunk every night and bringing all sorts of women in his bed. You meant nothing to him. It's for the best. We're the ones meant to be together. I've known it since I first laid eyes on you. I always knew you were special and destined for greatness. As long as you hold onto your past, you will never see that yourself. It's clouding your mind."

She cried out in pain as a curved knife pierced her stomach. The man held onto her, cradling the back of her head, and assured her that it was necessary for their future.

Riley snapped out of her daze, her cheeks stained with tears. She sniffled and wiped them away with her sleeve.

"Paying your respects?"

A boy in his late teens with tousled light brown hair and green eyes, was leaning against a tree, arms crossed. "It's good to see you again…what are you going by these days? Riley? It oddly suits you."

"Took you this long to find me?"

"You've always been quite adept at hiding. When Felix told me that you were on the island, I thought that I'd find you here. It's the site of such terrible tragedy and the birth of a bitter rivalry."

"What do you want?"

"I should ask you the same. It seems that the people working for me received a message about bringing you along with Henry. I never sent that message and the only reason I can think that you used them to get here is because that council watches your every move. If they thought you came here on your own, you'd suffer quite the punishment."

"I'm not a threat to whatever you want with Henry. I know he thinks that you're some poor little boy like him so my guess is that you used magic to send a copy of yourself to stay with him while the real you visits me."

"Always the clever one. Somehow, I doubt you're not a threat."

"I'll make you a deal like old times. Give me what I want and I'll let you keep him."

"And what is it that you want, little dove?" he asked, curiously.

"I'm about to be twenty one soon. You like your puzzles. See if you can figure it out."

Pan smirked. "I know who you want and your locater spell won't help you find him. When he arrived here, he begged me to cast a powerful cloaking spell over him for his own protection. At this time of night, he likes to hang around the mermaid lagoon to listen to their songs."

"Well, I hope you don't care about losing one of your Lost Boys."

As she walked past him, he grabbed her wrist. She turned towards him, prepared to cast a spell if he threatened her.

"I've been hearing whispers from that other land, thanks to those under my employ. My offer from that day still stands."

"I don't need your stupid offer."

"He'll be the least of your worries if they succeed."

"They haven't been able to for centuries. What's different now? Don't try to scare me into accepting your offer. It'll be a cold day in Hell before I even consider it."

"Then I'd be quick. You're looking a little sick these days."

Riley wrenched her wrist away from his grasp and headed towards the lagoon, wiping the blood under her nose…

~Killian~

Killian rowed a boat towards the shore, leaving behind his partially wrecked ship. They had barely survived an attack by the fearsome mermaids, who were beautiful yet deadly, and one of the mermaids had cast a spell to intensify their anger towards each other. The only thing powerful enough to break the spell was Swan risking her life by jumping into the water and nearly dying from a hard knock to the head. She gave an impassioned speech about working together, despite their differences. The prince was against accepting the help of a pirate or an evil queen but Swan insisted that without all of their skills, they would never be able to rescue Henry and Riley.

Being the only one to ever spend time in Neverland, Killian led them through the dark, dense jungle. He received no gratitude for stopping the stubborn prince from almost nicking himself on dreamshade. Swan's speech convinced them to work together but it did not convince them, especially David, to trust Killian's every word. She explained that in the stories back in the land without magic, he was considered the villain while Pan was a sort of hero. He found it strange that the stories had distorted such details, knowing that Pan was far from an innocent boy. At the top of the cliff, he scanned the entirety of the island through his spyglass though it looked much different from the last time he ventured around the island. Most of the land was now overrun with jungle, making it difficult to locate Pan's hideout. They decided to make camp for the night before continuing on their journey.

He led them to a nearby clearing and they split up to gather supplies like firewood, water, and food. Regina used her magic to create makeshift beds and tents for each of them, the contempt in her eyes revealing that she would rather be in her comfortable bed than napping on dirt. Swan returned with a basket of berries.

"This is all I could find for now but—"

She raised her sword at the sound of rustling behind her, followed by a loud groan. A boy rolled out of the bushes, clutching his shoulder. He looked no older than fifteen and judging by his attire, he was one of the Lost Boys. Wet leaves were tangled in his dark hair and the fingers on his shoulder were coated with blood.

"Don't get too close to him, Swan. He works for Pan. I can tell by his clothes," said Killian, taking out his own sword.

"P—please don't hurt me. I—yes, I—I work for Pan but not by c—choice."

"Why are you here? Were you spying on us?" asked David.

"N—no. I heard that you were on the island and…I want to help you. I was hoping that if I do, you'd take me back with you. I—I just want to leave this island. I swear that I am not working for Pan."

"We're just supposed to believe your word?"

His emerald green eyes flickered to Swan. "I—I know where he's keeping your son and that girl."

"Riley? Where are they?"

"H—he's at Pan's camp. It can only be seen by those who know where it is and I can help you get in there. The girl…Riley, is it? She escaped. He sent the others after her but it's like she disappeared. She's still on the island."

Swan suggested that finding Riley first would be best for their mission to rescue Henry. With her magic, she was a valuable asset against Pan and the Lost Boys. Killian was not the only one reluctant to trust the boy. He knew that not every Lost Boy enjoyed working for Pan but his offer to assist them seemed too good to be true. Part of him was suspicious that the boy was putting on an act to lead them straight into a trap set by Pan.

"He's telling the truth."

"Emma…" said Snow.

"We need to use whatever we can get. If he can help us find Riley, that's one step closer to getting Henry. What's your name, kid?"

"Cal," he said, gripping his shoulder.

"I'm Emma. This is David, Mary Margaret, Regina…and I'm sure you already know Hook. You hurt?"

"I got in a pretty bad fight with one of the boys."

"Regina, can you heal him?"

Regina silently scoffed and flicked her wrist. The wound on his shoulder healed in an instant and the blood was wiped clean from his sleeve. He looked at his bare shoulder, amazed.

"Wow."

"It's a simple healing spell, dear."

"S—sorry. I just…Pan's the only one I've ever seen use magic. I think it's incredible."

"You can get excited over her magic later. Do you have any idea where Riley could be, Cal?" asked Swan.

"The island's pretty big but I know Pan was trying to do a locater spell. He couldn't because he didn't have anything of hers. Do you?"

"Yes," said Killian.

Reaching into his coat, he pulled out the leather bracelet. "You've had that the entire time?" asked Regina.

"I must've slipped it in here by accident. I only noticed it shortly before the mermaids attacked the ship. Will this do?"

"It should."

She took the bracelet from him and cast a locater spell. The bracelet began to levitate and floated into the jungle. Swan led the way down the path and Cal began to follow until Killian grabbed the back of his shirt.

"I know Pan and your little friends, lad. If this is a trap—"

"It's not. I'm not lying."

"When that bracelet leads us to the girl, if she's harmed in any way, you'll find my hook through your stomach."

"Why do you care so much about her? Are you two together?"

"No."

"But you like her?"

"Enough questions, boy. Walk."

"Kind of hard to do that when you're holding onto me."

Killian shoved him into the jungle, keeping his sword out if they encountered any danger…

~Riley~

Riley was sitting atop a cliff overlooking the lagoon. The mermaids were swimming in the water below, some laying on the rocks and flicking their colored tails. One of the mermaids, wearing a tiara made of seashells in her hair, swam towards the shore with a smile on her face. A thin teenage boy, a quiver strapped to his back, jumped across the rocks and bent down, handing her a necklace of lilies stringed together with vines. The other mermaids urged her to return to the water but she waved them off, clearly wanting to spend time with the boy. Riley eavesdropped on their conversation and scrunched her nose in disgust when the mermaid kissed him.

"I can't be gone long. Pan wants us back at the camp."

"He's never cared before."

"We're supposed to be guarding a new boy. He's really special to him."

"Surely he can let you stay a few more minutes if you're with a princess."

"Not this time, Adella. I'm sorry. Besides, I don't think the others will like you shirking your duties."

"I do have to get back to prepare for our celebration. I wrote a song just for you. Same time tomorrow?"

"Of course," he said, pecking her cheek.

Adella disappeared beneath the water, leaving the boy blushing. Quietly, Riley reappeared behind him, keeping one hand in her jacket pocket.

"That's adorable."

The boy was startled by the sound of her voice and turned around, his eyes wide. "So how does that work? Do you just dry hump her tail or is there a hole in there for you to put it in? You're oddly quiet. Cat got your tongue?"

"How are you—wh—you can't—h—how are you here?"

"It was pretty easy. I jumped through a portal. Aren't you happy to see your little sister, Lukas?"

"O—of course but how did you find me?"

"I had a little help from someone who's been on the island before. Father isn't following me, if that's why you look so nervous. You've been so busy here with your little friends and your mermaid romance that you must be behind on what's been going on outside this island. You still look nervous. Were you not worried about him? I can see why."

"Ma—"

"I mean, it's not like you were one of his favorites…oh wait, you were."

"That's not true."

"It is, Luke. Marcus was his manipulative mastermind and you were his little warrior. He always let you skip lessons and acted like you were some chosen one. I just find it funny that he treated you so well and you still ran away like a little bitch."

"Why are you here?"

"I can't miss my big brother? It's been so long. I wanted to reconnect. I met with Marcus again. We had a little chat."

"And he's currently rotting in his own prison. I know that much, thanks to Pan. This conversation is over. You need to leave now."

Lukas flicked his wrist but nothing happened. The sand crept up his legs, all the way to his waist, and hardened, keeping him stuck to the ground. He struggled against the hardened sand. Riley sat on a smooth boulder, crossing her legs.

"Looks like Pan helped me out a little more by taking away your magic. He really doesn't want me to get involved in whatever he plans to do with Henry. I don't mind. Gives us a chance to talk and catch up on old times. Let's talk about that day."

"No."

"What, are you going to stay quiet until your mermaid girlfriend shows up to save you? What is she going to do? Throw seashells at me? If you want to do it the hard way, fine. I'll take a page out of Father's book."

She pointed her finger towards his cheek. He began to cough up blood, some of it seeping from his nose. As her finger moved to his head, he groaned, struggling to move his arms and gritting his teeth.

"Let's play a game. If you answer me honestly, I will stop. If not, I make the pain worse. I have so many questions. Marc wasn't very helpful because he's always been an arrogant jackass. So tell me, Luke, what were you thinking that day? Was it my fault? Marc made it sound that way. I was only seven so maybe my memory isn't as good as yours. Explain it to me."

"Why? Nothing I say will make up for it."

"Try me."

"You want the truth? I was scared. He was already horrible because of Seth's affliction but when he saw what you could really do…when he learned the truth about you? I knew by the look in his eyes that he was going to be ten times worse. He may have been lenient to me at times but after that day, he would've slaughtered all of us to get to you. You're wrong that I haven't kept up with all of you outside of here. I know he isn't dead. Pan assured me he was but I know better. He's still out there. Maybe this can be our chance to start over…you, me, Seth, and Sebastian. We can take him down once and for all before the merge happens and then everything will be back to how it was…how it should've been that day."

Riley burst into a fit of giggles. "You know, I thought these family reunions would be so boring I was wrong. They've been hilarious. When I was with Marc, he tried to pull the family card too. Let's cut the sentimental crap, Lukas. It makes me want to puke. Father is dead, thanks to me."

"No, you wouldn't do it. I know you, M—"

"It's Riley and you really don't. I had no problem with it…no regrets."

"Deep down, he cared about us. I know that's true. He may have shown it in the wrong way but it's only because after we lost Mother, he…"

"Oh, shut up. Of course, you would defend him. I think all this time in Neverland has made you forget how horrible he really was, Lukas. All you can remember are the good memories and sadly, I have none of those. He was a psychopath, plain and simple. You just never saw it because you never had to deal wit his cruelty. Not you, Marc, Bash…none of you!"

Feeling a warm sensation, her grip tightened in her back pocket. Lukas countered that she never voiced such anger to her youngest brothers, easily forgiving them for abandoning her that same day.

"They were going to come back but Father's men stopped them. You left with no intention of coming back for me, Lukas…let some shadow take you to this stupid island so you could avoid all your problems and dance around a fire pit with a bunch of boys. You haven't changed. You never wanted any responsibility. It was your job as an older brother to protect me but all you wanted was to have fun. You got to stay a kid forever while I had to grow up from seven to thirty overnight. Does that sound fair?"

"You're not just here to rehash old history or get some brotherly advice. Why were you looking for me? Do you plan on throwing me in Marcus's prison with him? Leave your traitorous brothers to rot while you run off with your two perfect brothers who, despite being on your side as you claim, have not been with you for over a year? Or are you getting this anger out before the merge happens and only one of us survives?"

"Admit you were wrong that day and I'll leave you alone. You can have freaky mermaid babies and run around as a sixteen year old forever. I'll even make sure Seth can't come here to tear you apart piece by piece like he's wanted to do for years."

Lukas was silent. "Look who's being a coward. What would your precious father think of you now?"

"You're right that I abandoned all of you to save myself but I don't regret it. I had spent half of my life protecting one little sibling and I wasn't about to have it cut short because the other decided to anger our father, the one man who could strike more fear in people's hearts than the Dark One. If I could travel back to that day, I'd do it all over again because at least I'm still alive and—"

His words were cut short by a dagger piercing his heart. Like Marcus, his face turned grey and gaunt like a corpse. As she conjured a coffin and placed him inside, something soft struck the back of her head. Her leather bracelet was floating in mid-air. Recognizing the glow of a locater spell, she clasped the bracelet around her wrist and sent the coffin back to the mines in Storybrooke. She cut her arm with a sharp rock and wiped off the blood by washing it in the water.

"Riley?"

Emma hurried through the trees, placing her sword back in its scabbard. "You're okay. You're alive. You—this is good. I wasn't sure that locater spell would work. Good thing Hook had your bracelet."

"Hook had it?"

"He found it in the cannery."

David, Mary Margaret, Regina, and Hook soon joined them on the sandy shore. For a moment, Hook seemed relieved to see her. Emma questioned her about Henry's whereabouts and the location of Pan's hideout. Riley lied that she was separated from Henry when they were being chased by the Lost Boys.

"That cuff is gone."

"What?" she asked David.

"The one Greg and Tamara used to keep Regina from using magic. They gave the same one to you. How did you get it off?"

"I knocked one of the boys out and took their knife."

"That's convenient."

"What David means is that we're glad you're safe, Riley. If it wasn't for Cal, we wouldn't have even thought of a locater spell," said Mary Margaret.

"Cal?"

"He's a Lost Boy but he's on our side. He's going to help us get back Henry."

Riley's fists clenched as a boy around fifteen walked through the trees, tossing a knife into the air. Mary Margaret introduced him to Riley. The boy smiled at her, a mischievous gleam in his emerald green eyes.

"It's nice to meet y—"

He was thrown aggressively against a boulder. "Riley, what are you doing?!"

Wiping blood from his lip, he stood up, a hint of a smile on his lips. "Hey, that's not fair. I'm running on no sleep. Give me a few hours before—"

He dodged a jet of red light directed at his head. "Really? This has to be your worst glamour spell yet. You barely look fifteen, Seth. The only reason these dimwits fell for it is because they have the combined IQ of a goldfish."

"Exactly why I put in such little effort."

"Seth?" asked Emma, her tone suggesting that she knew the name which made no sense since Riley never mentioned her siblings.

"You really are too trusting. It's—"

An invisible force shoved him into the ground. He wiped the sand from his face and looked at Riley, who was contemplating the best way to scatter his body around the island.

"How the hell are you still mad? It's been months. Get over it already."

He dodged a ball of fire that nearly singed off his face and tackled her, leading to an intense fight. After awhile, they seemed to blend together, appearing as two black blurs that moved back and forth across the shore. He kneed her in the stomach and threw her against a boulder.

"You know, you have every right to be pissed at me but I think it's time for you to let this go."

"You don't get to tell me what to do."

"I could only save one of you and you're the better fighter. It's been a lot worse for me lately. If it makes you feel any better, I dumped Elena…in more ways than one."

She punched him across the face, breaking his nose. Emma stood between them, stopping Riley from finishing the fight.

"Stop it. Riley, who the hell is this?"

Seth chuckled. "Nice touch…trying to look all confused. The only one who's good at it is the pirate. He looks somewhat convincing. You know who I am, Emma. You saw me…well, a younger me. You saw it in my dear sister's memory journal."

"Heh, he's lying. I never—what's a memory journal? Is that some magic thing?"

"They all looked in it. Is it so boring in that little town of yours that you peek at someone's private property?"

"Be quiet," hissed David.

"Hey, if throwing you under the bus gets me back in her good graces, I'll do it. I would never look in her journal. That's crossing a line. Riley knows I'm—"

She punched him once more, knocking him unconscious. The glamour spell was reversed, showing his true twenty year old self. Her dark eyes flickered to Emma, who awkwardly explained how they ended up reading her memory journal. She claimed that they were searching Riley's room at the inn for a magical way to stop a trigger that could destroy Storybrooke and Henry had accidentally opened the journal, giving them glimpses of several memories.

"Hold on, before you start yelling—you were lying too. You didn't tell me that Marcus was your brother."

"He's not."

"That's a lie. In the memory—"

"By blood, yes…but he stopped being my brother a long time ago."

"And what about Ethan being a doppelganger? Were you planning on telling him?"

"No."

"Why not? Because it'd be easier to get what you want from him if he didn't know the truth?" accused David.

"You obviously know nothing about doppelgangers. They're not supposed to know about each other because if they do, they get an obsessive need to kill the others until they are the last one standing. Vince is still around and if Ethan found out, Vince would get his own little alert in his head and come straight to Storybrooke to kill him. I was doing Ethan a favor. Anything else you want to accuse me of, you hypocritical prat?"

"Oh, plenty. Let's start with why this Vince guy thought you died in 1910."

"David," whispered Mary Margaret, tugging on his sleeve and subtly shaking her head.

Riley crossed her arms. "I mess with some of those memories in case a snoop decides to read it. The memories change their content randomly to throw the person off. Good trick, huh?"

"You expect us to believe that?"

"You don't have to but if you keep pushing me, you'll go back to Storybrooke in pieces."

"Riley, David, that's enough. What's the story between you and your brother?" asked Emma.

"He's a jerk. That's all you need to know."

She conjured ropes around his wrists and slapped him with a hard smack. His eyes popped open. He winced, rubbing his cheek.

"Can you not wear a ring when you do that? It hurts."

"Where's Bash? He wouldn't let you off your leash without him and I know he's not here."

"Hmm, let me think. Right now, I bet he's writhing in pain in the middle of some forest. I bit him pretty hard."

There was no remorse in his voice. Riley hid the concern in her eyes, maintaining a cold expression, though Seth was much more perceptive, knowing that she was furious, upset, or possibly both with him. He simply shrugged when she questioned why he had bitten Sebastian.

"He was being really rude, Riley. I'm just teaching him a lesson."

"What do you mean, you bit him?" asked Emma.

"I have a little talent. My teeth are…toxic, you could say. I can control it so no worries if you get lonely in the middle of the night and want to—ow!" he said, wincing as Riley tugged on his ear.

"You just left him there?" said Riley, struggling to stay calm.

"Like I said, teaching him a lesson. Go on, give me the lecture. Call me a horrible human being who deserves to be drowned in acid for hurting our noble brother."

"Nothing to say. If you hurt him, you had a good reason."

"You don't mean that."

"Well, maybe I'm concerned that if I say how I really feel, I'll be the next victim of your bite."

He pouted. "I'd never bite my baby sister. Heh, look at her nose crinkle. She hates when I remind her that I'm older by a minute, which makes her the baby of the family. Riley, you know my preferred method when you're the disappointing sibling is the box. Now that you're safe, let's go."

"Not without Henry. Once we get him, we can leave Neverland."

"I don't care if you just came here to rescue your sister. You're going to help us get my son back now or I'll let Riley beat the crap out of you. We should check for any sign of Henry. Maybe he passed by here and we can do another locater spell. Seth can warn us if there are any Lost Boys around," said Emma.

"Seth can what?"

"That's your job for tricking us. Be a good lookout."

Riley walked along the path on the far left, not caring much about finding clues. Hook had decided to join her and she pretended to be observing branches for torn pierces of clothing. Her mind was more preoccupied with her own family than Henry. It was not the first time that Seth had bitten Sebastian or any of their siblings out of anger. Usually, he bit them accidentally but as he grew older, he used it as a weapon to scare them into siding with him. She worried that Sebastian was vulnerable by himself.

"Maledicto bestia."

"Are you trying to sound cool by speaking another language?"

"The curse of the beast. It's your brother's affliction. I thought that was it when I witnessed his eyes changing in one of your memories but I wasn't sure until he mentioned his toxic teeth. I saw it in person when I was a boy. One of the sailors had been afflicted with the curse during a journey. Your brother seems to have it under control."

"He's not a monster, if that's what you're thinking. It's just when he's angry that the curse takes control."

"For you as well? I remember what happened that night in New York. Your eyes changing color, the veins…"

"I don't have it as bad. Seth got the worst part of the curse. My father pissed off the coven in Salem because he was trying to take control of them to expand his power. He wasn't happy with just New York. The leader of the coven decided to retaliate by cursing my mother when she was pregnant with me and Seth. None of us even knew about it until we were about three and Seth nearly tore off a kid's arm. It…changed things. He never accepted Seth as his son because of the curse. After we all got separated, my older brother Sebastian stayed with him to make sure Seth didn't lose control. He's been pretty hit or miss over the years. Thanks."

"For what?"

She turned towards him. "For finding my bracelet. Greg took it off when they were interrogating me."

"Well, it seemed quite important to you, Renato. I've never seen off your wrist."

"It is important. If I lost it…like I said, thanks. I don't think Henry passed by here so we should head back. Seth's probably planning to scorch the first person he sees so let me go through first."

"Patch things up with him."

"What?"

"Your brother. His wrongdoings are in the past and he clearly wants to make up for them. You never know how long he'll be around, Renato. You should be thankful that he's around."

"Are you just saying that because you lost your brother? It's a nice sentiment but our situations couldn't be more different. Your brother probably always had your best interests at heart. Seth…half the time, he's looking out for me and the other half, he's selling me out for his own gain."

"I never said you had to follow my advice. You have called me an uneducated fool several times."

"I do appreciate the advice. We just handle things differently in my family. Here's some advice for you. Don't be alone with him, okay? He doesn't seem that dangerous but you say one wrong thing and he'll snap your neck. He's got an even worse temper than me."

"I find that hard to believe, Renato."

Returning to the shore, they spotted Seth by the edge, sniffing the air. He cast a spell over a handful of sand. Seeing Riley, he sped over to her in the blink of an eye.

"I thought I caught Lukas's scent. Is he still here?"

"I told you that he died five years ago. One of those Lost Boys killed him in a fight. It happens all the time," she whispered.

"He's lucky. If he was around, I'd be ripping his head off."

He glanced over at Hook, who was speaking with Emma about returning to their camp. "What's with him?"

"Hook? What do you mean?"

"He threatened to gut me if you were hurt when we found you. Are you two—"

"Ew, don't even joke. He probably just wants the honor of beating me up himself. I left him behind in New York and—it's complicated."

"Want me to play a game of kill the prince? He's asking a lot of questions."

"I can handle him. You just be on your best behavior. I don't want you screwing up the mission to save Henry."

Seth scoffed. "We're still putting on that act, huh? You and I both know that you don't give a damn about that kid. You came here for another reason."

"You got me. I was looking for something to stop the merge. There's a crystal hidden somewhere on the island. If we channel its power, we can prevent the merge from taking place. I don't know its exact location but I'm pretty sure Pan hides it somewhere near his camp. He knows how powerful it is too."

"Using a boy's kidnapping for your own selfish motives? It's like old times. Shouldn't be too hard to find it. I'm glad you're at least talking to me again. I missed you."

Seth hugged her, cradling the back of her head. She leaned her head on his shoulder and peeked at a piece of parchment that appeared in her hand. A message was written on the parchment: Did you get what you wanted?. She brushed her finger against the parchment, replacing the message with If you want to keep Henry, you need to do something else for me. The parchment disintegrated into nothing but ashes. Following Emma and the others back to their camp, she simply nodded as Seth thought up possible ways to find the crystal…
