A few hours before the new trio arrived in front of the bakery that the current trio were in, Lux was banging on Jarvan's door.
"C'mon Jarvan," Lux said, grinning ear to ear. "You've been down in the dumps lately! I have a way to guarantee that you'll be happy! C'mon!"
Jarvan opened the door with a groan. He clearly hadn't had shaved yet, even though it was 10 am. His eyes had bags under it and Lux took a step back, surprised. She was dressed in a light yellow sundress, looking all of the adorable idol the league made her out to be to sell more merchandise.
"Damn you look like shit."
"I know," he grunted, rubbing his tired eyes. "What's your idea?" He was somewhat curious and knew that the might of Demacia shouldn't look like someone who had been drinking too much the previous night and had a hangover.
"Sweets!" She was grinning ear to ear, unfazed by his scraggly face now. "Sweets always make people happy!"
He stared at her like she was an idiot and closed his door quickly, knowing full well how fast she could be if she wanted to be.
Caught off guard by the door suddenly slamming in her face, she stared at it for a moment before pouncing on it and pounding in it with both fists. "Jaaaaaaaarvaaaaan! Open up!" She kept on pounding as she called for him. "C'mon, this will be good for you! Trust me~!"
She kept up like that for half an hour before sliding down, panting as she rested her head against the wall. "Jarvan~," she groaned. "Get out here~."
Just as she had asked, the door opened quickly, slamming into the wall. Unfortunately for her, Lux had slid down against the wall where the door swung out to hit, getting the full brunt of it in her face. She let out a soft whimper as she fell over, holding her face.
"Huh?" Jarvan came out, looking around. He wore a dark blue t-shirt with Demacia's crest on the back and a pair of blue jeans. It was his normal clothes more or less. Even princes had to have day clothes in this world. "Wasn't Lux calling me…oh God!" He rushed over to Lux and picked her up, cradling her head. "Are you okay Lux?"
She mumbled something he couldn't understand. "What did you say? I couldn't understand."
Next thing he knew her fist was in his cheek, sending him flying off of her and onto the floor. "Why the fucking fuckity fuck did you slam the door into me!" Her face was contorted into anger for once. "What the hell was that for?!"
Jarvan raised himself, standing as he smiled shakily. It was rare to see her this mad. He backed away slowly. "Heh heh, it was an accident, I didn't know you were there, honestly I didn't!"
She approached him, glaring at him. Even though she was shorter than him by quite a few heads, she was intimidating. Like an angry Terrier. "You slammed the damn door into me!" She raised a finger at him, wagging it. "You owe me."
"Yes ma'am," Jarvan said, knowing the best way to appease a pissed off Lux was to obey her. "What do you want me to do?"
"You will…go to the Sweet Factory with me, and you will cheer up."
Jarvan stared at her with an accusing look. "Was this all planned to force me into obeying you?"
She giggled and began walking down the hall. "Well, who knows~?"
"Lux…" he said in a warning tone.
She sighed and pouted. "Christ you're no fun." She rolled her eyes and looked at him. "It wasn't on purpose, but it's a nice coincidence isn't it?"
He sighed and lowered his head, defeated. "You're too confusing, you know that?"
She just giggled and led him down the hall to the teleporters. Garen was standing there, dressed in a light blue t –shirt and gray sweat pants. He raised a hand and waved to his sister and their prince. The two of them were on a face name basis anyway, so the only time when Garen had to bow was in official situation, like reporting in after a battle.
"Garen's coming with us?" Jarvan asked, not overly surprised to see his friend there.
"Of course he is! You guys are friends and he's my brother, not to mention if I want to bring anything back, I can't expect you to carry it, so he's there to carry anything I buy!" she said, grinning ear to ear.
"So he's like a pack mule?" Jarvan asked with a sigh.
"Not like that!" she said, pouting. "He's just nicer than you, that's all."
"Sorry to hear that m'lady," he said with a roll of his eyes.
By then they had approached Garen, who held out his hand for him to shake with a grin. "Good to see you Jarvan. I was worried about you."
"Sorry to make you worry," he said, shaking his hand and bringing him in for a quick hug. "Didn't want to worry you. I was just…ah…coping with the stress."
"Mhmm, terrible thing that happened that day."
"I was planning on making a memorial for them in the city, but I need-"
He was interrupted by Lux. "Yeah, yeah, that's great and all, but this is an anti-sad trip! No depressing conversation, m'kay? Like talking about that. We are going to shop and that's it!"
"I thought you said we were buying sweets," Jarvan said with a raised eyebrow.
"A woman can go get some other things from other nearby shops if we're there," she said with a huff.
"Of course," Jarvan said, trying to forget about what he had been saying to Garen.
"Anyway," she poked Garen in the ribs. "Piggyback ride!"
"I thought you said you were a woman, woman don't do piggyback rides," Garen said, smiling at his younger sister.
"Carry me!" she pouted, staring at him.
"But I could have sworn you said-"
He was cut off again. "Carry me!" Her pout grew until he couldn't resist. He lowered himself and allowed her to climb onto his back, sighing.
"The things I do for you," he mumbled, smiling despite what he said.
"Heh heh, you know you love me!" she said, before looking at Jarvan. "You ready to go?"
Jarvan was holding himself back from laughing his ass off, but just barely. He had a hand over his mouth and nodded, clearing his throat. "Yeah, let's go, let's go."
After teleporting to Piltover, where the shop was, they headed straight to it, Garen promising to stay with her after the trip to go shopping with her.
How oblivious he is to the fact he likes her, Jarvan thought with a small smirk. It's common knowledge in the League about it, I mean it's odd, but I guess they fit each other even if they are family… He decided not to think on it anymore than he already had, shaking his head to clear his thoughts.
"Hey Jarvan, you okay?" Lux asked, looking back at him.
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine," he replied with a grin.
"Good, cause we're nearly there." She turned back to face the front, resting on her brother's shoulder as she was carried. People stared as it was an odd sight, but none of them in the trio seemed to care.
Garen bounced Lux as he carried her, making her giggle and grin and wrap her arms around his neck. He bounced her a bit too high though and she nearly fell off, grabbing his hair to steady herself.
He laughed nervously as she glared and pouted at him, but eventually the mood returned to normal as they entered the sweet shop/bakery.
"Hmmm, where to start," Lux asked aloud, but neither of the guys were listening. Both had their eyes closed, their minds drifting out onto cloud 9 as the sweet, delicious aroma of cooked pasties and delectable desserts wafted out to meet them.
"I think I'm in heaven," Garen said, before being brought back to his senses with a hit from her sister to his head. "Ow…"
"Hmph, serves you right for ignoring me," she said, before hoping of his shoulder onto the ground. To get Jarvan back, all she had to do was wave her hand in front of is face.
"Huh wha-?" asked the bewildered champion. "Was that magic?"
"Nope!" Lux said, grinning ear to ear again. "Unless you count delicious pastries and sweets as magic!"
Jarvan laughed at this and followed the two of them into the shop. He felt like someone was watching him, but shook it off just as bad nerves as he followed the two.
From behind a pillar, Ahri peaked out and watched them, a scowl appearing on her face. Why the hell was the sunny little bitch there? Trying to hog my sweet shop popularity too huh? Her tails bristled in anger. And she took Jarvan here too, agrh! What a pain! Maybe I should tell the other we're leaving, no, that would only make more questions…argh! She turned away and headed back for where Shyvana and Sona were. And this was such a great idea too…
As she headed back up the stairs, Lux lead the two guys around the first floor. She made Garen pay for everything she wanted, giving him her hurt puppy dog look whenever he said he didn't want to.
For Jarvan, it was fun to watch them bicker and talk and joke as if they were a couple or at least a normal brother and sister. It was amusing. He himself went looking for something to get for himself so that they could finally find a table and eat. He walked past displays of cakes, cookies, biscuits, donuts, and other delicious goodies, but nothing caught his attention. Well, a mixed berry scone did but he ate that quickly.
No, I want some cake, mmm, some dark chocolate would be great. "hey lux," he called out. "Where's some good dark chocolate cake?"
'Up a floor," she said, pointing to some stairs. She was currently riding on her brother shoulder again, her legs held there by his hand. He used her own hands to stretch to the top of shelves and grab a ceramic container, labeled, 'Chocolate Chip Pixie Cookies,' and opened it and took a quick sniff. "Yup, this is what I want," she said to her brother who set her down.
"GO on ahead," she said to the Demacian prince. "Well catch up soon! I got a few more things I want to find here, and then we'll come to the second floor."
"Chocolate cake sounds like something I wa-" garen started, before he was cut off.
"So you're going to abandon your sister?"
"No I was just-"
"And leave her to fend on her own with no weapon?"
"No I didn't mean-"
"Fine, go with your buddy! I don't need you anyway," she said with a huff as she turned around.
"You need my wallet," Garen noted. "I mean after all, you spend all of your money on those magazines that-"
Her face went scarlet and she whirled around and she cut him off again. "S-s-s-shut up!"
Jarvan tilted his head, somewhat confused. "Huh?"
"N-n-n-nothing Jarvan, d-d-didn't you want some c-cake anyway?" she said, shooing him away. "I need to have a chat with my brother," she said, her eyes like Kat's daggers.
Jarvan nodded and left his friend to get grilled by his own sister, praying that he would come out in one piece.
He went up the stairs two at a time and made a quick right, ignoring the windows and tables to his left, as well as the lone occupant there, thinking Ahri had been in the bathroom for quite a long while.
He quickly strode over to the counters and he felt like he was in coco cake heaven. There were some many to choose from. There was a bit of everything, even more than just cakes! There was black forest cake, molten chocolate cake, Chokladboll, chocolate cheesecake, Amandine, Better than Sex Cake, Butter Cake covered in chocolate, Devil's Food Cake, Dirt Cake, Doberge Cake, Dobos Torte, and Donauwelle.
(I swear to god all of these are real, even the Better Than Sex Cake. If you don't believe me, Google it and you'll find it)
It was such a hard decision to make. I have a lot of money…and I have a good bit of space in my fridge…ehhhh, what the hell, why not! I can treat myself once in a while. He decided to buy one of each chocolate delicious delicacy, and left with two large bags on each arm. As he headed back to the steps to go join them, he saw someone very familiar in the corner of his eyes. He looked out and saw none other than Shyvana there, eating her strawberry shortcake as she waited for Sona to come back. She had gone searching for Ahri.
Jarvan turned around and approached her from behind, putting a hand on her shoulder. She jumped slightly, then looked up, her eyes going wide.
"We should talk," Jarvan said, nothing but seriousness in his voice as he stood there, waiting for a response.
