AN~ Completely rewritten because it had nothing to do with anything and was stupid so yeah.
The munchkins in the Book of Everafter (at least the fun ones, the ones who don't get too caught up in how awful things are in this repetitive existence, of whom there are maybe five) like to have little competitions to pass the time while they wait for Dorothy to come back AGAIN. The nice thing about The Wizard of Oz is that it's a long story, and they have nearly a month before they have to start over again. So they have plenty of time to skirt the margins, time when they can do whatever they want without Revisers coming to get them.
Of course, it's dangerous in the parts of the story that aren't written, because the consciousness that isn't quite a person can come attack them, but they've learned how to avoid the thing most of the time.
So they play 'how close can I get to it without it strangling me' and 'what's the weirdest thing I can do before they send Revisers after me' and 'how many times have I been revised' and the like. It's fairly fun, and a nice way of rebelling a little bit without doing anything too crazy like what's happening over in Alice in Wonderland.
Maybe they have it easier because they don't have to relive the same day over and over again. But still, if there's one competition the munchkins will always win, it's 'who's the sanest one left in this stupid book.'
