AN~ Heavily edited but still basically the same thing.

Oberon used to tell Cobweb to imagine the new Faerie. It would be beautiful- a safe haven for Everafters to hide underneath human's noses. They'd all have all the help they needed, and they'd get along, and it would be glorious. A secret community hidden inside Central Park.

Of course, they needed taxes for that. And it would have gone faster if people would actually cooperate, but it would happen eventually. Even if a good portion of the money kept disappearing, Cobweb was certain that Oberon would build his new Faerie, and it would be glorious. Now that Oberon has died, Cobweb is wondering if perhaps Oberon took the money himself. Many things have come to light in the wake of Oberon's death. But Cobweb doesn't want to think about that right now, when he's staring death in the face.

He'll think about what happened before. Those were happy times, full of hope. He wants to be happy if he's going to die.

They came to the new world to build a new life. They imagined a great city just for Everafters, in this unsullied land full of forests and space. Fairies love forests. They were sure that here, they could be themselves. They could be free. Of course, that didn't happen, and they found themselves pushed out of place after place, until they were crowded into tiny leftover spaces in Manhattan. Cobweb was among those who still hoped for a day that humans would know about and accept Everafters, though many grew angry at the humans and wanted to destroy or rule over them, or just get away from them. Cobweb wanted a place in the city set aside for Everafters, one where humans could come but couldn't live, one where Everafters could be seen.

We came to the new world, intent on building a new life for the everafters here. We imagined a great city all to ourselves, a place where we wouldn't have to hide, a place where we could be ourselves. But that didn't happen. So from there we moved to New York City, again imagining a home of our own, a new Faerie! This new Faerie would be a place where all everafters had their own job, their own home. Or, some of us imagined a world where the humans knew of our existance and instead of hiding, we were accepted for who we were. I was one of those. I imagined a section of the city where the houses were designed to each person's wishes, where I could live out in the open, flying to get to work, helping to make the city even better than before.

It didn't happen under Oberon, but perhaps now that Puck has returned, he can make it real. He will listen to Mustardseed's advice (Mustardseed will do much of the actual ruling, once Puck realizes how much work it is, of course). Cobweb would like to be there to see that happen. He supposes he won't, but he'd like to picture himself helping build the new Faerie with these princes whom he has helped raise. It would be beautiful.

Just imagine.
