Back to cliff hanger endings (kind of) and to go with my return I have changed the cover image, it was too big, so you didn't see it all. :( If you want to see the whole thing, just ask. If you hadn't guessed it's of Leola and Merlin. I will put a link in the bottom to the site I made it on. A shout out to Unicorn Vomit who has stuck with this potato even when she let you guys in the dark. Thank-you.
An annoying sound ripped through the flat, filling every empty space and echoing off of the walls. Merlin covered his ears. Alarm. Dragging himself out of his bed he rolled onto the floor, still wrapped up in his duvet. He stared at a set of clothes staring back at him. A single word popped into his head. "University," He let out a sigh that was a mix of annoyance and disgust. He unwrapped himself and got changed.
After getting dressed Merlin made his way into the kitchen, a plate with toast was sat in the middle of the table, the margarine had melted into it perfectly. A small note sat beside it.
Good morning Merlin,
I, as I am sure your brain cells would have gathered, have left early to get to the University early and learn my way around. The toast will still warm as I put a spell upon it.
Due to those words I just wrote,
THIS LETTER WILL SELF DESTRUCT 20 SECONDS AFTER YOU HAVE TOUCHED IT.
I wish I could see your face,
From
Leola :)
Merlin dropped the note and sure enough before it had even touched the floor, it burst into flames and soot filled the air. Another alarm sounded, the fire alarm.
O
Leola strolled towards the huge university which loomed before her. Her eyes flickered, taking in every tiny detail of the massive building. Her head tilted back and she smiled, the sun warming her round face. She pushed open the gate and headed inside.
O
Arthur ran through Camelot towards the car park, his new car had been delivered the day before, he couldn't wait to drive it to university. Besides that fact, he was late, which was the real reason he was running.
He reached the door of his new car when suddenly his phone went off. A text:
Hey Arty, look i'm soz but u c, im gonna b l8. Pic me up plz ;)
-Lance
Arthur sighed. Lance or Lancelot, was always late, he was going to have to pick him up. He had to because Arthur owed Lance a favour. Arthur swung himself into his sparkling, black, new car. Strapping himself in he drove off, ignoring the message his father had sent him earlier to say good bye to him (his father).
Arthur drove just over the speed limit, because he knew in England, if you go 5 mph over the speed limit, that's when you get in trouble. As he sped through the streets, he wondered how many people he would have to swerve out of the way of. That really pissed him off, people who thought they could walk out without looking. He saw Lance outside his apartment. Arthur pulled up.
"Get in jerk,"
"Nice to see you too Arty,"
"I've told you not to call me that, jerk,"
Lance smiled and got into the car. Pulling on his seatbelt, he leant back. Arthur knew that sign, it meant a question was coming.
"Hey, Arty," Arthur winced as Lance said that, "Whose house were you at, the other day. I saw you come out of some student housing. It wasn't Gwen's was it?!"
Arthur shook his head, "It was some new students' flat. It was tiny, like the TARDIS, but the opposite way round."
Lance smiled, "Thank God is wasn't Gwen's,"
"Can we not talk about that now please," Arthur said as he pushed down onto accelerate.
O
Merlin ran through the twisting streets, silently cursing Leola, because of her little joke he had spent 5 minutes trying to turn off the flipping fire alarm. His mind was only focused on what had happened. The world around him was a blur. The buildings and roads didn't seem to exist to him.
O
Lance had started to panic, "Hurry up Arthur, we are going to be late!"
"Fine, I'm speeding now, you happy?" Arthur turned his head to Lance
O
Merlin didn't stop to check the road he just kept running. 'Late, I'm late' was whirling around in his head.
O
Arthur pushed harder on the accelerate because of the position he was in, staring at Lance.
O
Merlin heard something, it was a roaring, it was entering his thoughts. What was it?
O
It was too late. Arthur turned his head too late. He was always too late.
O
Merlin felt an intense pain in his side, and then, nothing. Peacefulness flooded his system, dakness engulfed him.
O
Leola stopped, "Merlin!"
O
Then there was silence.
O
