Hey, new chapter. If you read the first try at chapter 12, re-read it please, because the next part of the story won't make sense. :) Also please vote in my poll, it's on my 'amazing' profile. :) (not)

Leola sat in her third class from the end. This was her new way of categorising lessons. Later, she would get to see Merlin. The Doctor's had said he was in a stable condition, and should be fine. Though there was that word, "Should,"

Arthur stared into the back of the head of the girl who he had caused so much pain too. She sat staring down at her notebook, scribbling furiously. Her handwriting was crap and far too big, but he couldn't really blame her. People react different ways under stress. He had found that out in this class, no one reacted quite the same, Leola wrote far too much and with worse handwriting than a three year old, Lance tapped his right forefinger against the desk, Hannah (his tutor) ran her fingers through her hair, Rachel (his other tutor) was surprisingly calm, and he rocked back and forth on his chair.

What was he doing? His thoughts were all over the place all because he had done something stupid. If only he had just been paying attention to the road. If only...

O

Merlin was drifting in and out of sleep, each time different people stood around him, prodding him with different medical instruments. He hated it. He wanted to go back to the flat, he wanted to go and see Leola's smile and hear her laugh echoing through the flat. He wanted to watch her practise her magic at the break of dawn and smell her shampoo after she had finished showering. He wanted to go home.

O

Gwen had seen him. She had seen Arthur, wandering through the corridors; he seemed to be so far away. She wanted to speak to him, but she knew that would be dangerous. If he thought she was trying to interfere he would push her away, and it would break her heart. No, she'd talk to Arthur through Lance.

O

Lance watched Arthur as Arthur went about his day. Lance had wanted to comfort him, but he knew that he had helped cause the depression that shrouded both Arthur's and Leola's faces.

They both blamed themselves. Lance wanted to get them talking, but Arthur was avoiding any human interactions and Leola acted as if she didn't know either of them. She seemed to be avoiding even the air breathed by other life forms.

Lance then felt a small tap upon his shoulder. He recognised that tap.

He turned, "Gwen?"

She looked at him, "What's with Arthur?"

Lance grimaced; he knew this was going to happen, "Gwen..."

"No!" She shook her furiously, "I'm not getting involved, what's wrong with him?"

Lance sighed, "There was an accident?"

Gwen's eyes' widened, "Is Arthur okay?"

Lance sighed inwardly, she was worrying about him, "He's fine, he hit someone with his car. A kid that comes to this school actually,"

Gwen's brow furrowed, "I hope Arthur gets better soon," She turned on her heel and left.

Lance reached out, but he pulled back his arm, she was only worried about Arthur. She didn't care about anyone else. She only wanted Arthur to be safe.

O

The professor finally let them go. Leola ran out of the lecture theatre, her tiny feet pounding at the floor beneath her. Her breath came out in short bursts. The way to the hospital was a map inside her head. Leola could only think in negative ways she believed Merlin had died whilst she was at the university. Her heart was pounding hard in her chest. Her eyes were blurring when she heard a voice calling her name.

"Leola!"

She slowed down and looked left, a blonde was gesturing to her from his car, his new car.

Leola strapped herself in.

"Thanks Arthur,"

He smiled at the steering wheel, "It's only fair,"

Leola had wanted to travel in silence but Arthur was too much of an extrovert for that.

"So Leola, you know, I'm really sorry,"

"I would hope so,"

"Yeah, well, if there's anything I can do for you, I don't know, be a boyfriend, anything..."

Leola cut him off, "Excuse me? No, no! How can you be thinking that?! Merlin is in hospital because of your reckless driving and you, you Arthur Pendragon, you are thinking of paying me back?! I don't want any of your money, any of your fake attraction. I want you to be able to repent for what you did! I don't want you to think of yourself, I don't want to you to think about me, I want you, Arthur Pendragon, to think about Merlin, the boy you almost killed!"

Arthur was taken aback, never had such a fragile creature said something with so much power. She was so angry, he could feel the sharpness of her words piercing him. Arthur gulped, his eyes fixated upon the road. They were never leaving the road except for wing mirror, again. He would never be so careless again. Never.

More of a dark chapter this time, I really enjoyed writing it. Please vote on my poll, and if you can please leave a review, really good if you could put constructive criticism in your review (if you write one). It really helps. (This includes spelling, especially grammar and plot holes, please point plot holes out, some I am aware of but point out any that are bugging you)
