New update, hope you liked the end of the last arc, was going to continue that arc for ages, but... Anyway, these chapters are kinda just fillers, but Christmassy themed :) I will try and update for the next four days, yes including Christmas day! Happy Doctor Who time and only 4 days (and 1 year) until next episode of Sherlock! This chapter is kinda short, because it's a filler.
Arthur stood at the door of the pokey flat, which he was not intent on opening. In fact he wanted to turn around and go home. It was cold, and he was tired. It was December and he wanted to go home and have hot chocolate. Alas, he had to apologise to Merlin, again. As if he hadn't apologised enough in his mind.
Arthur raised his hand and knocked on the door. Almost immediately the door swung open. Leola was standing in the doorway, in her hand was golden tinsel.
"Arthur! Come in! You can help us with the decorations!"
Arthur smiled awkwardly, "Bit late isn't it, I mean it's the 21st today. We get our maids to put them up on the first of December."
Merlin poked his head around the corner, "You don't even put up the decorations by yourselves, you get people to do it for you! I can't believe you. You're missing out Arthur. Come in, there's hot chocolate on the boil," He turned to Leola, "Leola, make Arthur a mug."
Leola swung round and made a noise of agreement and, Arthur followed her in and closed the door behind him. His eyes grew wide, the small, cold, pokey flat he had visited before was completely different. There were many fandom references; there were anime posters and canvases adorning the walls. The walls had been painted and it seemed bigger on the inside. Leola turned to him and a smile that warmed his cold hands and feet, spread across her face, like melted butter on toast.
Merlin sat in the corner of the room, trying to get the wood-burner going, and Arthur felt more at home than he had in his whole life.
"What do you need me to do?"
"There's a box in the back room, me and Leo can't carry it."
Arthur laughed.
"Shut up Arthur. Anyway, it's got the tree in it, could you bring it through? Thanks."
Arthur made his way through the kitchen, which resulted in an awkward, "I'll go this way, no, wait, sorry, you go this way and I'll go this way,"
Arthur stared at the box in front of him, "I thought it was a fake tree!"
Leola's voice called back to him, "Never!"
After some furniture re-arranging the tree was finally in the living room. With cups of cocoa in their hands the three friends stared at the box of decorations on the floor.
"I get to do the star." Leola said immediately
The two boys looked down at her grinning face, and then caught each other's eyes. Both of them smiled like two children on (rather relevantly) Christmas day.
"You two, can't we just get started?"
After a hectic 40 odd minutes, the tree was complete. The lights flickered beautifully and gave a festive feel to the room. Leola had also hung Christmas lights in the windows and a wreath was attached to the door outside.
"Tea?"
"Leo, we're British, do you even need to ask?"
Hope you enjoyed this short, little chapter. If you don't celebrate Christmas, replace everything with Doctor Who stuff (the Christmas tree could be a replica TARDIS). I will be updating again tomorrow another festive chapter, and for the next four days. I will even update on Christmas day for you guys (if all goes to plan) See you guys tomorrow, stay warm/cool (if you're in the southern hemisphere) :)
